The hotel may look nice but it is by far not the best-looking hotel out there. The rooms are pretty but the open spaces are a bit run down, and in need of renovations. The cafe is nice but expensive, the cajun wrap is delicious! However the manager was not a very nice woman and the staff revealed that it was not a good place to work. You know that the working conditions must be horrible if the staff outright say that they don't want to work there! So this hotel is okay, but certainly nothing special, and for the price and how far away it is from everything, I would suggest going somewhere else.

Quite possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The decor is shabby, the pool is grotty, the sauna doesn't work, only one lift functioning, I was served a plate of unpeeled overcooked carrots as a main course (seriously I jest not) for €24! The room wasn't serviced, and was noisy and - to top it all I was woken in the middle of the night by knocking on the door for a fire drill with no explanations or apologies. I paid a ridiculous premium price for this hotel and would have slept better in a hostel - abysmal - avoid at all costs (especially €190 a night)

This hotel looks nice from the outside and the lobby, but everything else is outdated and old. There were no usb jacks in the room, the elevator felt like it was from the 1800’s it was so slow. I purchased breakfast for the morning and the hostess told me I had not. I assured her I had checked in the previous night and did pay for the breakfast. She argued with me and finally went to check only to find that I had already paid. The vegan breakfast I was offered was not suitable so I was disappointed I even paid for anything. The location is too far away from City Centre or the airport. Be prepared to pay too much money on taxis if you have no vehicle.

Beautiful hotel. We were in a family room, lovely size but very hard to keep warm. Bar service excellent. The Mapas restaurant was lovely but out of the 4 choices of dessert 1 was not available. There was a special main that we were not advised of ( only heard the table next to us getting the information after we had ordered). The buffet breakfast was only warm on the second morning. Check out is at 12. My husband was asked what time we were leaving at by the assistant cleaning the room although we had the do not disturb sign on our door.

Beautiful hotel. Very nice leisure centre all renovated. Saunas are and some spots still being renovated, so I guess it will be even better. Breakfast staff and bar staff very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast. We would definitely recommend

I had a wonderful dinner at the hotel restaurant (the dungeon bar) with my friend Alice and her mother. The food was fabulous and the staff were very friendly. Alice’s sister celebrated her 60th birthday and we got an amazing complimentary desert plate. Everyone was very happy. I went up to see their room and the view over Dublin bay was magnificent! I highly recommend staying there if you ever visit Dublin.

This was my third time staying and it was the worst visit by far, room was not up to scratch very dated had filthy windows chipped wood work no information in room telephone didn't work reported to reception on two occasions never sorted even though I was promised it would be actually found the receptionist on second occasion quite passive aggressive. We couldn't use swimming pool because robes and slippers were not provided. Restaurant and bar staff were excellent it's a shame because I so enjoyed my previous visits but I'm not sure I would return as it is very expensive.

My family and I went here for afternoon tea in the restaurant. To say it was disappointing would be a gross overstatement. The service was inattentive, and we were left waiting and had to keep trying to catch attention of the servers, who I can only assume were lacking in basic training. The orders were gotten wrong and the afternoon tea that came out was a gluten free afternoon tea, which we did not ask for. My mother had told the server she was celiac, but had ordered a gluten free meal from the a-la-carte menu. The afternoon tea consisted of poor quality unbuttered sandwiches and unpleasant tasting pastries. As for the price!? Absolutely outrageous! The afternoon tea alone was €70! It would have been disappointing at €20! The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths. My mother later described it to us as embarrassingly bad, and I'd tend to agree. We will not be back.

We went for a family day out to celebrate a grandparent's birthday. The service was awful nobody seems to know what table they're servicing. The food is over priced. Very disappointed that a lovely Christmas sweet treat left us with a sour taste instead.

I was at an annual outing to the Castle with friends. Function rooms were a little cold . We had a full lunch there also . Some had fish and were disappointed as to its size and presentation. Not even tartar sauce was served. Others had turkey and ham which was tasty and portions small. The ham was all bits rather than a slice of ham. No gravy was served either. Staff were ok but not over welcoming. It's not what we expected from Fitzpatricks Castle as it has a good name. Atmosphere in lobby was lovely and seasonal.

Lovely place for a wedding such an outstanding venue also great venue to stay while your on holidays. We had a great day and the service and rooms we stayed in were beautiful. Also a fantastic breakfast the next morning would highly recommend a stay if you drop in around that direction.

My stay at the castle was incredible. The property is beautiful and the staff is always going the extra mile. The reception staff is very welcoming and accommodating. The food is delicious and the facilities very enjoyable (swimming pool, spa, gym). The measures to prevent covid are taken seriously. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. I enjoyed the different spaces around the hotel offering food and drinks. I cannot recommend enough, and will definitely be back soon.

Great staff, really warm, and natural welcome. Breakfast was really good. A lot of charm in the building, but due this there are a couple of drawbacks. The main one is the shower pressure and temperature, pressure is weak, and temperature is erratic, cold to boiling in seconds for no reason. But I would still be happy to stay here again as everything else makes up for it. Really enjoyed my stay.

I treated my mother to an afternoon tea in Fitzpatricks. They must have hired a good pastry chef since the last time I ate there. The cakes were imaginative and the flavours, excellent. Service was also much improved from past visits. I would definitely go back if the standard is upheld.

We stayed here for two nights with our 4 year old daughter. This is by far my favourite hotel in Ireland. The staff truly are so welcoming and always greet you with a smile. We had over 24 hrs of travel prior to arriving and the staff allowed us to check in early which was truly so much appreciated. We didn’t even have to ask this is something they offered to do. We dealt with many different staff at the front desk throughout our stay and they were all very helpful. The room was clean and well kept. The decor suited the hotel and the beds were comfortable. Coming from North America it was new to us that it doesn’t seem standard to have fridges in the hotel rooms (this is not just this hotel) also you use your key card to power on the room inside. The pool is within the hotel making it very convenient to access from the rooms. The breakfast served every morning is great, there is a hot buffet, dry cereal options fruit and more. Tea, coffee and toast are served to the tables. The grounds are gorgeous. The location is very accessible to tourist attractions. There are also restaurants located within the hotel. Wonderful options so that you do not have to leave the hotel in the evening. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. They next time we are visiting Ireland we will be staying here again.

Staff friendly. Location excellent. Was on the 5th floor with an amazing view of dublin bay. Only problem was the balcony railing was very low. Extremely dangerous. Also a step up to get out to balcony. Also a step up to get into shower. Crazy stuff. Breakfast in the morning was lukewarm. How hard is it to serve a breakfast hot? They need to get a perspex screen up on those balcony rooms before someone has a tragic accident.

What an amazing stay. This is such a beautiful hotel. The staff are all wonderful and very attentive to your needs. It is a close, beautiful walk to Dalkey, the Dart station to get to Dublin, Killiney Hill, and Killiney Beach. The food in all the restaurants was very good and of course the drinks are wonderful. If you want to stay at an amazing hotel that is not in the hustle and bustle of Dublin this is your place. Thank you to everyone at the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel!

I stayed here about a month ago in hopes for a castle hotel experience. Truly, what I got was something of the late 1800s and no castle vibes. As much as I had hoped of loving this place, it was pretty meh. Cons - The elevators weren't as easy to get to. My room was HOT when I finally was able to get to it. The decor wasn't great; the room was pretty underwhelming. I almost fell getting out of the shower because the bathtub was abnormally high. And to top it all off, I was charged an additional 20 quid at checkout because of a mistake on the hotel's end for not charging the correct amount when I checked in. Pros - seems like a spot for weddings and it's kid-friendly. The balcony in the room was nice. Overall, wouldn't stay here again.

Definitely not worth a price tag (279e) Room with nice view but tiny, no fridge or air conditioning like in rooms on floor below that were cheaper. Couldn't open the window and couldn't leave balcony door open as all balconies were connected. Couldn't stand straight in bath to have a shower do you come out with back pain not mention steps to get in and get out of it. Bar lacking bottles of drink and not bothering to refill it. Breakfast came cold without butter, brown or red sauce for irish. Staff was nice but didn't have a clue what they were doing. White wine at the wedding dinner served warm, butter but no bread till after soup. Location with nice view from balcony rooms but nothing nice around while driving it to it. Definitely won't be coming back

The ladies at the check in were friendly and helpful. The room was well-appointed with a lovely bathroom. The hotel is pleasantly situated in a quiet area near Dalkey. The walk to the DART train is only about 10 minutes which makes for an ideal location if you wish to go into Dublin. The hotel grounds are pretty and the pool and spa was pleasant. Again, all the staff there were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet stay near Dublin with easy access to the city as well as access to the quaint town of Dalkey.

Myself and my family stayed for a week in august past. I have two young kids 1 and 3 and finding a hotel that serves all our needs can be tough. I have to stay this is the perfect place to come with your kids to stay. The team at Fitzpatricks were so helpful and the gym and pool was amazing . There is also amazing park 5 minuets walk away .I would be definitely coming back to stay at Fitzpatrick every time me and my family are coming from America.

The hotel is lovely. The room was spacious and had a couch and comfy chairs. The staff was very accommodating. The pool was sparkling and warm bring a cap if you want to swim. They also have a hot tub and sauna. The hotel is close to a beautiful town with a park along the beach, and another park that has a 360 degree view from the top. About a 50 minute drive to the airport. Take away coffee bar on the way out!

This was my first trip to Europe and I chose this hotel because Im not a city person. The Hotel was great in all areas and I had no complaints. There was minor things here and there , but no place is perfect. I loved the property and its surrounding area like Killiney Hill Park, Killiney Beach and Dalkey Village which I highly recommend you do! One last thing. I like that they have an indoor heated pool, two bars and sauna.

Went in for Pizza and wine on the lawn. Very disappointed. For a hotel in this area I was shocked by the wine selection. Terrible. Two red wines and 4 pizzas for €81. My wine glass even had a crack. Sorry guys, cannot recommend this one. Go further up the hill to Druids chair and you’ll get a better drinks selection and equally as good pizza but for a lot less.

Had a nice stay in this hotel.Staff were friendly and welcoming.Room was spacious, tea, coffee and bottled water and bed very comfortable although a bit dated but that's the style of hotel .Had a nice meal in the restaurant, dessert was a little disappointing as it said ice cream but I got sorbet, not a big deal really in the grand scheme of things.. Loved the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast, continental selection very limited, and hot breakfast could have been warmer but overall it was enjoyable

Apparent lack of interest in providing gluten free vegan menu's. Restaurant menu limited in it's options. The location and village of Dalky are all the hotel has going for it. I wouldn't recommend the hotel at all.......

Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful location, very large room and nice sea view. The rooms and bathrooms are quite outdated (bit Perry Mason style), I quite like the old school feel - but certain things could use a clean or some updating (stained carpets in the bedroom, shower head not working etc.) I had requested a quiet room when making the booking and was put in an adjoining room, I had to call reception at 1am to request a room change because the people in the adjoining room were screaming at each other the entire evening and I could hear every word. To be fair the guy at reception came straight up and presumably told them to quieten down/properly closed the adjoining door on their side - but it shouldn't have happened in the first place, giving an adjoining room to someone who has specifically asked for a quiet room shouldn't happen. I would still stay here again, but will be more explicit about the room they give me next time!

Lovely old-world hotel, with very pleasant staff. Located on a very steep hill, a little isolated, so a car or a taxi is required to go anywhere. Very comfortable en-suite bedrooms with a mix of the old and the new in terms of decor and furnishings. It is a former castle, after all. Nicest rooms have uneven numbers with a small balcony that overlooks the car park, gardens and the coast. See photos. Make sure to request one of these special rooms. Delicious dinner and a lovely breakfast. Can be pricey, but look out for mid-week deals. Highly recommended for that special occasion.

1st time in Ireland, traveling with my 17 yr old son. We wanted something convenient to Dublin but not in the city. Hotel was lovely. Would have loved a quiet garden area, but there was not. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, & pleasant. The room was comfortable, very quiet, We heard no one. Overall, it was a lovely stay, well stay again when next in need of Dublin accommodations.

We had the perfect stay! On arrival, the front of house staff were so welcoming and friendly with a smile on their faces, engaging with our kids and making them feel at home. We could not have asked for anything more from such friendly staff. The room was perfect; a great size for our family with an amazing view towards Dun Laoghaire Harbour. Very comfortable, well presented bedroom with all facilities very clean. Every morning the staff at breakfast could not do enough to make sure we all had what we needed. The food was fresh and delicious! The same can be said about our dinner in Mapas restaurant. Great food that accommodated the whole family. The children loved getting to the on-site pool. They also loved the convenience of being located next to Killiney Hill Playground where the children could play in the park while we could take in the scenic views. A great hotel! Thank you for a great stay and we look forward to getting back for another break.

This hotel is truly wonderful, the service, the staff and the rooms are wonderful. Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful grounds and facilities and location, bed room comfortable and warm but could do with a lick of paint and TLC. Carpet stained in places. To negotiate The shower / bath you had to climb a step and the lip of the bath to get into the bath / shower despite a sturdy handrail on the wall, it is tricky to navigate. Breakfast very good, dinner good but expensive.

Excellent, friendly service. On-site dining and drinks. Large rooms that were very comfortable for our family with what I think is the best sound insulation I have experienced in any hotel. Picturesque location within walking distance of the amazing scenic views of the rolling hills and countryside from the Obelisk (Victorian Jubilee Monument on a hilltop) and the Pyramid. Ample parking.

Hotel is in a lovely location. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable., However there dining options are limited and there seemed to be little evidence of management on the hotel floor. ( Both .in The lobby and particularly in the pool)

Lovely location. The walks up Killiney Hill and the views there and from the sea view balcony in the hotel is stunning. The food was lovely in restaurant. Drinks slightly over priced in the bar. Super live music from the guy playing and singing on the piano. Bar staff were lovely and engaging. Big con was the bedroom. For an upgraded sea view room with balcony it was very small and dated. Quite underwhelming. But still it was a lovely stay in a hotel with friendly, welcoming staff in a great location. Also, being a family run hotel, it has great character throughout that you don’t get in commercial chain hotels. Beautiful pianos, pictures, ornaments, etc throughout the building. If the rooms were better it’d get 5 stars from me.

A beautiful place to visit and stay! The interior is amazing, so beautiful to see and look at! The bed was very comfortable in our room, very spacious rooms, amenities were great, and the staff was amazing. The woman at the front desk was lovely, and she honestly made our entire stay so much better, I wish I could remember her name! Negatives - outlets in the room are scarce near the bed, the bathroom in our room could use some maintenance, quite far from city center and the airport. Still absolutely worth the visit and the stay!

This hotel was the most amazingly beautiful place I have ever stayed at. Our entire stay was magical. The staff were friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. The beds were comfy and this is coming from a picky sleeper. And the entire place was so spotless clean. The pool, hot tub and sauna area were breathtaking as well as relaxing. I would give them 100 stars if possible. We will be recommending them to everyone and plan on returning again soon!
