This is a delightful hotel combined the high Travelodge amenities standard with Irish hospitality. Located in one of the prime residential areas of Dublin, it is within walking distance of nearly all key tourist attractions in the City. Unlike other hotels in the core commercial city centre, it is relatively quiet in the evening and has a homely feel. The room is very clean, which is crucial during the current Epidemic. The electric heating system runs effectively. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful to specific requests. This is my second time staying in this hotel. I would stay here again if I visit Dublin in the future. It is best to book early as this hotel is quite popular.

Sometimes you find nice staff, sometimes excellent staff, and then sometimes you find EXCEPTIONAL staff. Every member of Rathmines' staff were absolutely wonderful. One even lent me their bus pass. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and is situated in a cleaner area of Dublin, but its best asset is its staff. I am happy to recommend the hotel because of them.

Fairly bog standard Travelodge, not anything exceptional. Awkward parking with very narrow spaces and you have to get a swipe pass from reception every time you want to get to your car. The rooms were fine, but the area around is loud and the rooms have no air conditioning or airflow at all so you have to have the windows open. Bathroom wasnā€™t very clean either and there was a leaking sewage waste pipe in the car park.

Had an amazing time! Great location and the receptionist, Patricia, made us feel at home and gave us advice on all the local places to visit. Took a lot of stress away from the trip. The rooms were nice and clean and if anyone is lucky enough to go when Patricia is working then I know they'll have a great stay.

Room was roasting, no aircon and very basic/small, very expensive for Ā£90 per person per night. The staff are lovely though and very accommodating (Especially Issy - who works too hard)

Cheap and cheerful if a bit run down. Was in one of the wheelchair friendly rooms. However I doubt that a wheelchair could comfortably move along side the bed. If you were staying with another it would be a tight fit. The bathroom alarm had been changed from the traditional long drawstring trigger to a plaque that is about hip height and away from the loo. I wonder about the wisdom of this as it doubt its easily reachable if you had trouble with your legs or lower half. It's a wet room style with an inbuilt seat for the shower, whose head was placed up as high as possible when we arrived.

Really clean!! I was really happy because for me its a challenge to find a clean hotel, but I was really content with the staying! Not much inside the room but the beds are good! I did sleep really well for this price And also the receptionist,. She libed in Holand, she was so helpful. Defintely would come back

There was damp in the bathroom, broken lock on the door and the window didn't close properly. The evening receptionist was great though, really helpful. Very basic.

Badly in need of a make over. Room was tiny with difficulty getting around the bed. Shower very small and leaks. Room adjacent shower moldy with rotten skirting board. Won't be back

It's not a beautiful hotel, but it's pretty clean, showers are not great, but the location is easy for city, Luas & Ranelagh/ Rathmines area

I think it was nice for what you paid for the room. We stayed here after a concert and picked it for its location as its not to far from anywhere. The area looks a bit rough but

The location is excellent with many shops, restaurants and pubs. It is within walking distance of the city centre. The facilities are neat and clean, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Also, they let you keep your pet when traveling! And the neighborhood is great for taking walks (with the dog!).

A Travelodge, you get what you pay for. Great, friendly staff who remembered your name, great location for all parts of Dublin. It may not be your pint of Guinness. It was ours.

Stayed here for a couple nights, wasn't expecting an amazing room but for the price i would recommend paying a lil extra for something else. Staff were lovely and helpful but that's where the positives ended. The hallways smelt like commercial cleaner and the rooms also carried the linger. The smell gave my wife and I headaches and we had to leave the room to try and air it out so we could return. The beds are separate not double beds and the bathrooms are in desperate need of a makeover. In the peak of a heat wave, we had a small desk fan to try to cool the room down and a small gap in a window for ventilation. I would advise you to stay away if you are looking for any comfort but if you don't mind old run down accommodation with friendly service, go for it.

Great place to stay if all you need is a place to dump your stuff and catch up on sleep. Comfy beds. All coffee/teas available but breakfast is in cafe 2 doors down. It's above an aldi and a lidl across the road. We were about a 30min walk from the Guinness factory and buses across the road took you right up to temple bar area or shopping areas for ā‚¬1.70 each, so no need for the expensive hop on hop off bus that's pushed by the reception staff. Staff in general are very pleasant and accommodating. We were able to leave our bags after an early flight, grab some lunch and check in around 1230. I would definitely stay again when coming back to Dublin!

Pleasantly surprised with our stay here. Although the hotel is based on the main street of Rathmines and above an Aldi, we had a really good sleep. The rooms are a bit dated but the beds are comfy and it's clean. All the staff we met were very helpful and obliging. We were just there for 1 night and it was exactly what we wanted - walking distance to really good pubs and restaurants. I'd definitely stay again!

Really nice hotel staff very friendly and helpful, small issue is parking, hotel shares underground parking with block of apartments you have to use a fob to gain access to underground parking, so you have to leave your vehicle down the lane to go into hotel reception and get your parking slot and fob then return but you could possibly get clamped while doing this. Otherwise nice hotel very clean

My girlfriend and I stayed there for three nights for my 50th birthday. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very professional and helpful in explaining how to use facilities and recommending places to have breakfast and dinner. The overall cleanliness is good, the room we stayed in was surprisingly spacious with a large comfortable double bed. Very quiet too. Again the room was clean and functional but a little cold at time as the radiator was on a 120 minutes timer so had to be reset every two hours. The bathroom was spacious but cold as the radiator seem to have been taken out, therefore it was a little chilli after stepping out of the shower. The water wasn't really hot in the shower. The hotel is set about 10 to 15 minutes away from Dublin's town centre. We used public transports, buses, which are frequent, reliable and have free WIFI. It is a budget hotel but we were pleasantly surprised with it.

Super staff friendly and helpful. No breakfast on site but many choices in walking distance. We particularly liked Wall and Keogh who served up some great food

Does exactly what it says on the tin, cheap enough, cheerful enough, very accommodating for us arriving late. Worth noting that off street parking is opposite the main entrance if you arrive after 6pm and leave before 8am.

Stayed here on Saturday a few weeks ago and was decent value for money. 4 weeks later I went to book again for a Saturday and the price for the same room was up 33%. Ireland was playing in the rugby so they put their prices up.

A really great hotel for a 3* hotel. Everything was very clean and tidy. Receptionist was very polite and accomodating. There was no hairdryer in the room but was provided upon request. Additionally, the hotel is in a great central place with various modes of transport, shops, restaurants and pubs nearby!

Loved it here. Stayed with my service girl until I was able to fly home and they were friendly and really accommodating to my service girl. Every member of the staff I met are friendly as they come. Every staff here were approachable and easy to chat with and Iā€™m not a very social person. As for my dog. Everyone loved her. Hotel staff and other guests alike. They made my last few days experience in Ireland better than what I would have went home on. My first week I stayed here, they were booked up on the second week but I found myself coming back on the third week after and I remained her till I was able to fly out. Honestly 10/10 I would recommend for accommodation. Says a lot when i even came back here to stay out my remainder of my stay in Ireland. ā˜ŗļø And everything is a walking distance as well. All my fave stores were literally nearby and there was a cute little park nearby for my service girl to meet new pups and play. I even took her for walks to the shopping district. (St stephens green). Cannot be beaten anywhere else.

I've just checked out from my 4 night stay (for work and a little leisure) and I'm planning my next visit already. The location is absolutely fantastic, the staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful and the facilities were perfect. I had a comfortable bed, lovely hot water all day and the fresh towels daily were great to have. I will be back! šŸ˜Š

All throughout the stay the staff were very helpful and there was great parking on site. Patricia was incredibly helpful with sorting out different places to visit and was always smiling and very polite when greeting us. Patricia always took the time to stop and talk to us daily about our day. We would definitely stay again only if Patricia is working there.

Brownish stains everywhere on the carpet. food stains on a chair and wall. stains on the curtains. shower drain is clogged. toilet doesn't really flush. shower smells kind of gross. not recommended. not worth the money at all. the cleanliness level here is appalling.

Only good thing was the comfort of the beds and the receptionist giving us a new room. Our old room had dead moths everywhere, dirty water in toilet and then when we flushed the toilet the shower came on and a sewage smell filled the room. Bin in bathroom wasnā€™t changed either. Was shocking to begin with. Other room was up to a decent standard but I would never stay here again.

Lovely friendly hotel. Everything is with in walking distance. One and half miles to Dublin centre. Took us 40min to walk.

I stayed here for about a week during the first week of January 2022 and loved it! The staff was very hospitable and attentive to my needs. I even asked for a blow dryer and they provided one. Among the staff members, Patricia who worked the night shift was especially kind and professional. She always gave a warm greeting and asked if accommodations were adequate. Not only that, she is very knowledgeable about the area and can recommend where you should go if you're a tourist. Patricia was definitely one of the highlights of my stay! Thank you Travelodge Rathmines and especially Patricia for a wonderful trip and experience in Dublin!~ I will stay there again!

The staff are absolutely wonderful. Warm, friendly and super helpful. My only issue is there's no air conditioning - it's advertised, but my room is boiling. I would stay again, despite this. Pet friendly also.

Stayed for two nights, friendly staff, great location, they only miss out on 5 stars because although the room was clean, the carpet was heavily worn and stained in places, could of done with a deep clean or replacing. Apart from that, I enjoyed my stay and would go back for sure.

Really amazing location. Parking on-site which was amazing! Quick bus ride into downtown Dublin! Would recommend. Good value.

We only stayed for 1 night which was okay but any longer, I wouldnā€™t recommend unless youā€™re desperateā€¦ The receptionist was quite hostile in my opinion and was very quick to give us keys and dismiss us without even greeting or having a little chat with us. I found this to be a bit strange and made me assume she didnā€™t even want to be there at all (understandableā€¦) The room was big and spacious but was not appealing. There were dark stains on the curtains and a mildew smell in the room. The bed was really uncomfortable however. The bathroom was also not clean as there were hairs in the bath and the mirror was not cleaned. Again, there was a weird smell in the bathroom. We didnā€™t need to call reception for anything as there is no food available at the hotel. Only a vending machine (I think?) and definitely a coffee machine at the reception. The location of the hotel is pretty good, in a nice busy area of Dublin which is close to the city centre - about 10 mins on the bus. There are loads of bars and restaurants in the area to cover up for the lack of in the hotel. To cut the long story short, donā€™t stay here for a holiday in dublin unless youā€™re only there for 1 day/nightā€¦

Best receptionists I have ever encountered. Both professional and genuinely friendly. Room were clean and spacious enough. Location is amazing. But there is no free hotel parking. You must book a space with the hotel and spaces are very limited.

There's this amazing staff named Patricia, she's the first friend I made in Ireland and I love spending time with her, I wish her the best.

Nice hotel, reasonably priced compared to other hotels in Dublin that are pricey.

  • 4/5 Thulitha T. 1 year ago on Google
The place is nice. But extremely expensive. When compared to the house prices in Dublin, the price is in the mid-high range.

If you are travelling from Dublin City Centre without the Internet.. Make sure you are waiting for the bus at the stop on the same side as the river šŸ˜†. Took about 15 minutes by bus to get to the hotel. Late shift staff member was amazing. He gave me a very warm welcome, and was quick to help me switch on the heating. Room was clean and good size.
