I could have written about the spacious and tidy rooms, the lovely breakfast and restaurant, great service at the reception, etc. But what I really love about this fantastic family-driven hotel is that the employees become your friends. You are not "just a customer". You chat with them about everything, and you always feel they give more to your stay than you can expect. You feel they are enjoying their time at work, and that I love. We had a fantastic holiday here and will most certainly come back next time we visit Dublin. Beatrice and Susana in the reception, Anna and Lucio in the restaurant, Igor and his colleagues in the bar/pub. To name a few... But my biggest praise goes to Simona in the reception 😀 We had an issue with our room when we arrived and the way you solved it will never be forgotten. And the great chats we had. Thanks to everyone at Sandymount Hotel for our best hotel-experience ever❤️ And see you all soon

We arrived at 2am. Booked direct and checked in online. On arrival the Portuguese chap at the desk kept insisting we didn't have bookings, his colleague arrived and found it right away. Learning curve, competent staff are required at the main desk. This guy was clearly useless. As for the rest, staff are amazing, welcoming; the hotel in comfortable and breakfast is superb. Would definately stay here again. There are ample areas where you could sit and relax.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay! Love that it’s only a five minute walk from the station, and an accessible walk to a few shops on the 3arena. The staff were brilliant as well, ready to help when we needed it. The room was brilliant, lovely comfy beds, lots of amenities (toiletries, tea, coffee, water etc), nice HD TV, and easy to get to. Besides the room, the rest of the hotel was stunning too! Lots of comfy seats and areas for recreational use! I will most certainly be back if I am in Dublin again, I cannot recommend this place enough, especially considering the small price we paid!

Very nice hotel, great location near the Aviva stadium, dart station (train to city centre) just around the corner. Was there on a quiet weekend in February. I would say it would be mental craic on a rugby match day. Food in the restaurant was extremely nice, smoked salmon salad was 👌. Wait staff in restaurant were very friendly, but could be a bit more attentive. Making sure guests have drinks, remembering to bring water, clearing plates away after a while, things like that. Room was a bit small, and the door into the bathroom was terrible. A weird comment, I know, but it was an in-wall door, that used to disappear into the wall and was really awkward to close. Free parking on site, which was very much appreciated.

In before a rugby match, pints were thrown out with no heads and service was slow. Dublin prices for a pint of not more. Marquee is a good job out the front with plenty of TVs around the place. No atmosphere before games.

Had a lovely stay at the hotel for the weekend. Car parking was a nightmare. We got parked initially as we were checking in but were going out again so I asked at reception if they had extra parking and was told yes. However when we came back and couldn't get parked my husband went in to enquire about extra parking to be told there was none! The rooms were extremely clean and tidy. We got a lovely driver who used the shuttle bus to take us to our destination on Friday who told us he didn't work Saturdays but if we asked at reception when we returned Friday evening they could ring him. But when we asked that evening for the shuttle bus for Saturday morning we were told no as they need to give the driver 48 hours notice. This was OK for us but for 2 elderly guests who were also looking for a lift got no help. They were asking different staff at reception the next morning who said they would have to make their own way there. They wouldn't even ring for a taxi for them. I find this totally unacceptable for a hotel. Everything else though I couldn't fault. The bar/waiting staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was to die for and very generous portions.

Absolutely fab stay! We were lucky to win a competition with them for a night stay and tickets to the Leinster vs Sharks match in the Avivia! The hotel is right next to the stadium under a 2 minute walk! Staff were lovely and more then helpful. Rooms were Modern and clean! Our overall stay was amazing would 100% recommend :)

Our stay at the Sandymont Hotel was perfect. We were warmly welcomed and were able to leave our luggage at the luggage office to go for a walk in the city. The lady at the reception gave us some recommendations as to where to eat. The breakfast was delicious and there were a lot of options. The staff was incredibly nice at every step of our stay and till the end. Big thank you to Beatrice and Ann, who called the hotel shuttle for us as it was raining to take us to our car rental agency. They were always nice, smiling, and helpful.

I stayed here last weekend. I didn’t sleep at all , the rooms are clean and nice but we were right underneath reception and all night I could hear people walking above my room and even in the hallways. I think it’s an old building with wood floors that creak. It’s not a bad hotel but I couldn’t stay asleep I kept getting woken up by noise. I wouldn’t stay here again. And I wouldn’t recommend. I think there’s a new and old side to the hotel so maybe if you are staying make sure your I’m not on the underground floor and especially not in the room below reception where people will be walking all night

Here before the Italy game. Drinks were good, but the barbeque grill was under a plastic roof. The smell of hot plastic meant we just had to leave.

Firstly, the man at reception couldn't find my reservation. After he rang 'reservations' I was told that my booking was there but had been lost since they changed computer systems. I was then told that although I knew I had prepaid 100% of the money for the room, they believed that as their computer systems had changed, the money I paid had bounced back into my account and I still owed over 900 euro. I was very uncertain about this and after checking my bank statement the money had in fact NOT bounced back! Therefore, they agreed that I HAD paid the room in full! I was absolutely appalled by this! The Sandymount Hotel had tried to charge me nearly 2 thousand euro for three nights B&B! On top of that, it is stated on the website that there is free parking, however the parking is EXTREMEMLY limited. I was told by the receptionist that I could park on the side of the road but that I would have to return to my car every three hours to pay for a parking ticket.... outrageous. The man who was the receptionist was the most arrogant and obnoxious person I have ever had to deal with. He spoke down to me and treated me with so much disrespect, I couldnt actually believe how little empathy he portrayed. During dinner we were also charged for two glasses of wine that the table in front of us orded, thankfully I noticed this before I paid for the bill. We had to ask for a bottle of tap water 3 times during dinner and recieved drinks we had ordered 30 minutes beforehand, after our starters. During breakfast we got our tea and coffee after we had eaten and even overheard the man beside us asking for a pot of tea three times before getting up and leaving. I was also told by the male waiter after ordering cider during dinner that he thought only men drank it! I have never had to deal with people who were rude and did everthing at a snails pace. There was a red haired waitress during breakfast who looked like she was the only one who knew what she was doing and kept everthing ticking over! There was also a lady during dinner who was the manger I believe, who seemed to be fixing all the problems the others had created and was impeccable at her job. This Hotel needs to re-train the majority of their staff in customer service and general manners! If you do intend on staying here please ensure you check all your bills before you pay for anything!

We had a one night stay in this fabulous hotel. We were warmly greeted by the lovely Beatrice at reception who checked us into our room that had all you could need for your stay. We had an excellent dinner that evening and next morning breakfast was delicious with a great selection to cater for all tastes. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. Location is great also especially if you're attending the Aviva Stadium...literally a stones throw away.

Fantastic hotel and great deal. We already had a hotel booked and about 3 days before we arrived my wife was looking and found this gem. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The staff in the restaurant were amazing especially Alex, the manager, Graziela, Anna and Cici. The hotel is a short Dart ride from the Temple area which is packed with fun people. This was our first trip to Ireland. The photos are of the Temple district. Next stop, Dingle

Fantastic couple of days I had in this hotel. Could not fault the service at all. Gave room 4 star as a bit dusty especially on the base of the lamp. However a great sleep I have had in ages. Would definitely stay again, next time I'm in Dublin 😁

We only went to dinner, service was okay, not great. Forgot to put lemon with our fish, then waitress bought out limes!! Then one of our party pasta was cold so she had to have it done again which took 25 minutes, the reason was that there was a mix up on the orders of one of the other tables. Manageress was lovely, we all enjoyed the meals. But as I said could have been better service.

My wife and I just got married and had the privilege of staying with the Sandymount Hotel team for our first night as a married couple. The team was helping us to make sure we had a pleasant and planned late check in, allowed us to store our honeymoon baggage a night in advance and once we arrived, we were met with congratulations and a very beautiful and peaceful environment to relax in and celebrate. We would like to thank the team here for a brilliant and outstanding service! My wife and I can’t wait to have a staycation here one day once we are settled in back home in Dublin! Thank you team!!!!

I stayed here for a couple of nights in early November 2023. I was here for a work conference/workshops. The service in the hotel was excellent and the food was good. Breakfast is fine and I recommend the burger in the bar! Location is great too. My room was a little small and awkward to navigate with luggage. Maybe it's because this hotel is basically a terrace of connected houses. Nice atmosphere too. Highly recommended. Conference facilities were basic but perfect for what we needed.

I recently stayed here on two separate occasions for business. The hotel was welcoming and the room the first week that I stayed was fantastic. For me it was the little details that made the difference. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. David was just wonderful, very helpful and kind and I felt he went above and beyond. There are the usual things I would expect like a selection of coffees and teas. What stood out were the glass bottles of water and the option of having fresh milk if you wanted instead of those plastic mini tubs. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was a decent size. It is situated in a decent part of Dublin and Dublin centre is easy to access from there, whether you fancy a walk or public transport. The only criticism/downside is if your room is on the first floor (as mine was the second time I stayed) and your upstairs neighbour is on the loud side you can hear everything! Not the hotels fault at all but there is a difference from staying in one of the rooms on the same floor as the reception to the ones a floor below. Having stayed in both I would recommend booking a room on the 2nd floor.

Can't recommend enough if you're going to a concert at 3Arena or Aviva stadium. 10 min walk from said arena and literally 30 sec from aviva stadium gates. Rooms are perfect. They feel quality and luxury as a pose to some hotels. They are always clean, and there is new linen and a tidy every day. Breakfast is nice and has everything you'd want plus good service, but it is pricey, especially if you select it on the day. The only thing that can be weird at first is the layout. Can feel like a labyrinth trying to find your room for the first time! 10/10 Would recommend though!

The breakfast buffet was scrumptious. Scrambled eggs and sausages were my best pick. The rooms come with a rainfall shower which was great. Clean, tidy and cozy place. Will visit again

First time at this hotel, but will definitely be back. Situated next to the Aviva stadium, it was a choice meeting place. Great food at a reasonable price, clean, helpful efficient staff, everything was geared to the customer first idea. We'll deserved top marks

We stayed at the Sandymount Hotel for three days in May 2022. The staff we interacted with was fantastic, very kind and helpful. They managed to get my family closer than we were to be originally. The restaurant is good. It's in a really fun area to walk. You can walk to the bay or to the other neighboring small towns. It's a very short cab ride into the city center which was nice to be in a more quiet area for a few days. I really liked the soap they have here too. After our stay they asked us to write them a review and actually read it and responded about it which was nice. Feels like a BnB with all the hotel amenities. We had a room on the courtyard side and listening to the birds was the most magical part for me. Room had a desk too which was well placed.

Very nice hotel. We missed vegetables and boiled egg at breakfast but we had everything else we needed. Hotel is conveniently located 2 km - 25 minutes walk- from 3Arena and 3 km from city center. The dart is 5 minutes walk..

Large hotel in a cozy area a bit outside the city centre of Dublin. It is a five minute walk to the nearest train station, and from there a few minutes ride with the DART to the city centre. Taxi costs from the airport to the hotel are approximately 30 Euros. My compliments on the quality of the beds, cleanliness of the rooms and the friendly and helpful personnel at the reception desk and restaurant. Unfortunately I found the rooms quite noisy - it is easy to hear people walk past or talk at night on the hallways (although this is a result of the old buildings the hotel is located in), and for a four-star hotel some things can and should really be improved: there is not enough toilet paper (you only get one roll in the room, so you need to ask the front desk for more when staying multiple days), empty soap/shampoo flasks don’t get replaced and you also don’t get soap at the sink to wash your hands with. The breakfast is a pleasant surprise though - the products are of high quality, and although the selection might not be the largest, the breakfast tastes great!

We came in early before our check in time. They tried their best to accommodate us. The food at the restaurant is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. The location is near the train into Dublin. Take Malahide bound train and get off at Tara street to get into Dublin.

Beautifully appointed rooms. A comfortable bed with high quality bed linens. Lovely staff at the reception, friendly, smiling, and accomodating. I was looking forward to my first fish and chips dinner in Ireland and of course Guiness. The fish was so fresh I could almost smell the sea it came from. Guiness was the best I've had in a very long time. The staff is patient, smiling and helpful. Many thanks.

Great spot for concerts, dinner outside at the terrace service slow had to ask for desert menu, the waiter never came back. The building is a bit higdle pigdle older part corridor on reception level for rooms is narrow not sure about the rest. Lift from car park up to reception, we had a choice of parking spaces arriving at 6pm in the evening. Would stay again great area handy for port tunnel 5 mins max.

Our family had a marvelous stay at the Sandymount! Serene, clean, a great area to walk in, and the staff were superb. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with important things like bottled water and coffee/tea service in the room. The quaintness of the old, quirky building coupled with the contemporary renovations made for a delightful stay. And the breakfast buffet? Crazy good! We'd go back for sure.

Clean rooms. Friendly staff, the receptionists, the ladies and gentlemen who clean the rooms, and the great staff in the restaurant. A few minutes walk to the Dart and within a few minutes you're in the center of Dublin. But you also can walk to the center, it takes about 45 minutes and is good for your health.😉 I had a great time in Sandy mount hotel.🥰 Highly recommended.!!👌🏻

Rooms were lovely lots of space. Good price for 4 for the 2 nights. Easy checkin and checkout, very close to aviva, dart, and bus.

Excellent location for staying in Dublin when going to 3 Arena. A straight walk of about 25 minutes. If you were going to the Aviva stadium it's really close! Our room was really lovely. We had dinner before the concert and breakfast the following day. Not a huge choice if you're Gluten free like me but it was fine.

n the middle of a 10 day stay. Would move to another hotel if I could. Location is good for us. Rooms are ok and accommodate our needs as we are staying with 2 grandchildren. Breakfast each morning is flavourless but usually ok. It's Ireland so no vegetables and the fruit is worse than at Tesco. (Did purchase some at Tesco which is only a few minutes walk). Staff at breakfast buffet and generally are friendly. Beatrice on reception is exceptionally nice. Dinner was surprisingly tasty but the food was delivered at random. Service issues are widespread. Granddaughter found glass on the floor under her seat (kids explore ). We gave it to the waitress who was unfazed and said her cut from the glass will heal. I received my salad after my wife received her main dish even though we ordered the same main. No bitters at the bar for my wife's old fashioned. The second person we told assured us there were but he disappeared never to be seen again. Waitress may have another job at the hotel as she too disappeared at times. Breakfast this morning was a disaster. Imagine that 50 people were showing up at your house for brunch and you forgot to prepare. That describes the experience. Wild! Shared my experience with two managers who were at the front office. Perhaps there are cultural differences at play (I'm from Canada) but saying he will look into it and not asking my name or room number suggests to me he does not care. On the plus side, apparently there was a medical emergency a few days ago with a successful use of the defibulator. Always good when the staff care, even if management does not.

Why is this a four ⭐️ hotel? Bed hard, cheap foam pillow. No AC and no controllable heating. Paid for two nights but moved to the Intercontinental down the road for the second.

  • 1/5 Sarah S. 10 months ago on Google
The shower was a moldy and the room was very dark, small and stuffy in the basement of the hotel. The card to the room that they gave us also didn’t work. The room was what I would expect from a budget hostel maybe worth €30 not €300. I definitely won’t be going back, but if you have to, ask not to be on level 1. Not worth the money at all.

I got the best sleep during my stay at Sandymount :) The hotel is great, really comfortable. I love the ambience. Irish tradition and coziness. The staff is polite, friendly and extremely helpful when you need taxi, charger, heater (in May even) or dinner outside of the restaurant's kitchen working hours. Sparkling clean.
