I really didn’t enjoy my stay here, it is really cramped with not much room and very dated and could do with a revamp! The staff at reception are extremely rude and ungrateful and are lacking some manners. So many other nice places in Dublin which would be so much better than this place- do not even waste your money on it.

Please avoid if you want to sleep. This has to be the worst nights sleep I have ever had in a hotel. When we checked in we were met with an incredible noise which came from a huge old air conditioning unit for a restaurant. I asked at reception could I please change room. It was near impossible to speak over the noise so I knew sleeping would be impossible. I was told not to worry it was shut off at 7pm. It actually went off at 10pm. Instead of quiet we now got the noise of party doers and the music from the bar downstairs. It finally went quiet at 4am. When the sun came up at 5am the seagulls started. If you plan to roll in drunk at 4am this hotel is fine. Otherwise please avoid

Have seen some negative reviews oh the Abbey but have to say I was not disappointed with my stay. The room was clean and tidy and functional for my stay in Dublin. The staff were friendly and helpful and the Abbey's location is very central. Already planning another trip to Dublin and would be happy staying there again!

I had to cancel the morning of my stay due to Covid as I also have a genetic lung disease. I was traveling to Dublin to see my Pulmonary team and it was following there advice as that weekend March 27th there had been a steep incline in the numbers. I am also a stroke survivor who finds it very hard to deal with any confrontation or stress. I have been ignored since that week and today I called and asked for the General Managers name and email, I was told she didn't have an email and it was after I insisted they must have some email I got a Gmail address for them. As per norm for this hotel the receptionist was quite rude and didn't really want to know about my issue just what I wanted the GM for so that she could fob me off again!! I am surviving on invalidity pension due to lung disease and strokes. I have not got €90 for myself nevermind them!! I have complained to the Ombudsman, IHF, Failte Ireland and Booking.com but like alot of other customers here that have complained it seems to be their practice to just ignore customers and any shape or form of Satisfactory Customer Service!! I still want my refund and am prepared to take this matter to the small claims court as I feel they are one of the unprofessional establishments I have had the misfortune of dealing with. Regards Paul King

Food was nice, reasonably priced for a city center hotel/restaurant. Staff were friendly and attentive. Chicken wings though, I wouldn't exactly call them ''world famous''! They were fine but I've had better.

A very basic hotel but a great central location. Staff ok. Bedroom just about fine but far too warm and no way of turning heating off. Bed comfortable. Our room 404 extremely noisy. Air conditioning extractor unit outside making it impossible to open the window because of the noise. An electric fan was supplied but again too noisy to leave on through the night. Complimentary continental breakfast was adequate. Not an ideal hotel for families. Reception area is just a tiny corridor with receptionist sitting behind a glass window in an extremely small space. Will not be staying again. However for a budget hotel and if you only want a bed for a few nights it is just about passable. The hotel could do with a good face lift.

Great location, but noisy at night. We are not the stuffy type, but the music from outside was too loud to rest. The room was clean, bathroom was fine but it was definitely small for 3 people. The complementery breakfast was a choice of 2 kinds of cereal... maybe toast... certainly nothing special. It is a short walk to the tram.

Good point: bed was comfortable and clean. Room grubby in need of paint and general update. TV didn't work. Shower freezing cold. Breakfast listed as continental but nothing more than cereal and old bread. No fresh coffee ☹️ either. Location superb. Could not recommend this hotel in present state.

I booked through booking.com with a cancellation polices of 24 hours , was ment to check in to hotel tomorrow , but now one of our group has covid so we have to cancel !! I submitted a cancellation request , and it was declined I then rang and the women (Megan) said that nothing she can do I said I’m not paying 169 € for somewhere I’m not going to stay , and it’s government restrictions that says so !! She then added very cheekily , that’s fine and hung up !!!! What kind of customer service is this ! Defo will never recommend to anyone and froze my card I’m not paying the 169€ unless they want me to go with covid-19????

Not reliable, booking cancelled 2 weeks before the date by the hotel without any explanation (over booking ?). Too late for us to find an alternative hotel in our budget. In such case there should be some compensation

Do not book here. They are forcibly cancellling people's bookings and their rubbish emails try to make it sound like they're doing you a favour. "We'll cancel your reservation at no cost to you", how generous.

I had a horrible experience here, the morning i was checking out the Receptionist was screaming at me and my boyfriend for smoking in the room when we weren't, they were so rude and the day we checked in they charged us for a 4 night stay when it was only 2. Dont recommended this pace at all. Still waiting for a manager to ring me and its been 3weeks

Great spot. Thursdays and Saturdays the entertainment jake sulliman absolutely top class very good singer and the way he blends all the songs in together. Cant beat it and the staff couldn't be more helpful.

Was checking in and found out that the 3 single bed room that I booked was altered to just have 1 double bed. So they arranged for a second room with no extra cost. Still just a room with 1 double bed but location is close to early open cafe's and the Luas.

I booked a room for the champions Cup final next year for 2 nights. I got reasonably good deal at 400 total. Abbey hotel cancelled the room shortly after. I bet the room will be back shortly at 1k probably.

I like this hotel. Always delicious food, light breakfast. Staff is friendly, helpful. The only problem is the location, on Friday/ Saturday nights there are a lot of noise, from clubs that are near..

Clean and neat for a cheap hotel. Staff helpful and polite. However, rooms very small- what you expect for a reasonably priced hotel in Europe. Also, everything is dated, again most things have to be rigged in these old buildings such as electricity and plumbing. WiFi is excellent. Would give 3.5.
