The only con I had with Jacobs Inn was the location. While it is close to everything, it is on the other side of the river which turned out to be a bigger deal than I realized. Super sketchy area at night, lots of beggars out and I saw a girl get jumped or something to that effect when I was walking at 9:30PM down Talbot Street on a Wednesday night 😬 As a solo female traveller in Dublin, this didn’t make me feel very safe. Also explained why the hostel had great security! As for the facilities, service, etc. It was everything I needed, the private room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Shower was nice at hot! The bar was a great option with some decent food after a long day, and the bartender I chatted with was super friendly. Definitely more of a hotel vibe than a communal hostel, but the bar provided the access for that if you wanted it. The only other feedback I would give is the price of the breakfast is a hit high given what you get. You could get something better up the street for the same price!

Had a great stay at Jacobs Inn Dublin and would totally stay here again! Clean rooms and common areas, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, laundry was a breeze and the locker room was a safe space to keep our stuff before and after our stay. Not to mention the common areas we got to meet such great people. One of our favorite places we stayed during our 4 months of travel even when compared to some hotels and airbnbs. Highly highly recommend!

I arrived around 4 p.m. on a Monday in August. the person at the reception asked me for my ID and checked my reservation, I booked 4 nights. She gave me a little card with the codes and explained to me how it works...I went to see my room, well rather...my bed in the box...hey you know what? I like ! it's better there than in classic bunk beds, you don't feel watched! we feel a bit at home! privacy is preserved. It's a mixed room with 8 beds and there is a bathroom, it's clean and it smells good! it is well maintained . there are also several showers and toilets on the same floor. There are books of board games and free wifi, it's great! I adore ! the decoration is beautiful, warm and the place is comfortably arranged. I sat on one of the benches on the ground floor of the bar to write to you ✍️ and you know, I'm sipping delicious 🍸 this place is awesome. The value for money for Dublin is really attractive! Congratulations to the management ;-)))) 👍🤪💯

If I plan on coming back to Dublin/Ireland again and again, I'm definitely coming back to stay here. I stayed here for one night as a solo traveler, and the next night with my significant other in a different room. Prices for the rooms were pretty adorable! The 4 bed area was nice and spacious enough, and I really enjoyed my companions in that room. For the next night, we were in a 10 bed room and it was equally nice and chill fellows. The sleep pods run a little hot given the cramped space, but if you open a window you should be fine. They also have fun ~vibe~ lights so it's fun to hangout in the rooms. Bathrooms worked great, not too much to complain there. The best thing about this place is definitely the service! Everyone who works here was incredibly helpful and nice, and they had a ton of services and things for travelers to see and enjoy. It felt like a place that was built and made by travelers, and the staff is regularly intermixed with other guests, to make it feel like a vibrant community. Definitely grab a coffee/drink and chat someone up! All of the amenities worked great! The locker room store luggage was good, the food and bar chill area was really nice to spend a late breakfast or early evening at to meet and chat with fellow travelers. Also! The location is great because you're right next to a major train/tram/bus station, and within walking distance there is a lot of shops, markets, and conviene stores, not to mention a pub or two! Overall, this place is fantastic and great for those who want to really experience and learn about traveling in Ireland!!

Jacob’s Inn Hostel was a super cool and hip place to stay from first glance. The decor is very modern and welcoming and the rooms were clean. My friends and I were staying for 2 nights in Dublin and we really loved the atmosphere. However. The first mishap occurred a few hours after my friends and I checked in. We got our bed assignments and went to dinner. When we came back, there was a man in my friend’s bed. That was a whole ordeal to figure out, and the front desk seemed really confused and unsure of how to handle the situation. Then the second mishap. At 4 am, a man opened my pod curtain and shined his flashlight directly at me. Then, a few minutes later, the night watch man woke me up really rudely and assumed I had stolen the guy’s bed. Again, there seemed to be an overbooking problem and the front desk didn’t know how to handle it. Other than that, it’s a great hostel. Breakfast is great, the common space is great. I would just double check with the front desk that no one else is supposed to be in your bed otherwise you could end up with men spooking you in the middle of the night.

A nice hostel in the northern side of Dublin. The location is close to one of the main transport stations (bus + train). The room is clean and nice, for a hostel. The rooms are a bit stuffy nevertheless. For the room with 12 beds in total, I personally think there are a bit few plugs. All beds contains a USB charge port. Most of the staff also speaks fluent Spanish as well.

I stayed in Jacobs Inn for two nights and the hostel stay was fine. The pods were very cramped but you get what you pay for. The sound insulation between the room and the corridor is very poor which contributed to an already difficult sleep. The breakfast was very limited as there was no choice and only two breakfast sandwiches left. The bar man was very pleasant. The evening after my stayed I realized that I had left behind me a bag with some clothing items (jersey I was gifted) in the hostel room. I contacted the hostel by phone and was speaking to a nice guy on the night shift. He informed me that the cleaners had gone and that I should call back tomorrow to arrange collection of the bag. I called the following day and I was speaking to an incredibly rude man who informed me that he would speak with the cleaners to see if they located the bag and that he would return my call later that day. I asked him did he want my phone number and he said he had all my details (despite the fact I hadn't given him any). Needless to say, no phone call back. I called the following day and what sounded to be the same rude man said he will speak to the cleaners and asked me for my name, phone number, room I stayed in and pod number. When I asked when could I expect a call back the response I received was "when I get a chance". Not 100% happy with this I contacted the hostel via email in hope that somebody helpful would receive my message where I explained the exact location of said bag. A week on from my stay in Jacobs Inn hostel, I had received no phone call or email from any member of the Jacobs Inn Hostel staff. I reluctantly contacted the hostel for the 5th time whereby a lady said nothing was found. I am left feeling very frustrated with the lack of cooperation I received for the simple task of providing some customer care.

I wasn’t crazy about the location of this hostel we seemed so far away from everything we needed to get to. However, the pods were nice and had excellent lighting. I liked how the lighting came with two different switches and the blue setting was perfect. Getting up and down bunks was very accessible and I loved the easy to use lockers in the room that didn’t even need a lock which was very convenient. The breakfast was good for the price and we enjoyed the bathroom that was located inside the room which was nice for waking up super early in the middle of the night. They had excellent security which I liked getting into rooms and main areas. The staff was friendly including those at the bar. They had live music one night which was very nice. I would recommend especially with the pods I felt like I had more privacy and the shelf in the pod was very convenient for setting my phone and belongings.

My stay was so nice I enjoyed every day! The hostel looks so cool and the rooms are big enough (I stayed in the 10 mixed dorm). We met lovely mates and had a great time over all! The bar looks so pretty and the staff was well friendly. I would always book in again! Cheers for a great time. Its also very clean and tidy everwhere :)

The hostel was a lovely place to stay in. I stayed in the capsule rooms alongside my brother. The staff where accommodating to the fact that we both needed bottom bunck beds. The rooms where clean and not overly hot. We stayed for 4 nights and met some lovely people. People where really helpful and the atmosphere was good. They have a chill out room that would work better if it had more facilities in it such as a kitchen. Most people sat down in reception and at the bar. Also the roof top seating had a lovely view. I wanted to stay longer.

Everything was clean and easy to navigate. The pods were quiet and had good storage options. The window on our room opened to the bus station, so I’d recommend ear plugs, but that’s a good thing to do st any hostel. The hostel is centrally located so it’s easy to walk to a lot of different things in the city. It was a great place for one night.

I stayed here few times, and previous experiences were good up until now. They don’t change bed sheets! I stayed for one night, in a morning I went to the bathroom for 5 min when I returned to my pod, it was made for another person… obviously cleaning lady did not realise that I was still in a room…no one changed any bedsheets, just folded pillow and blanket so it looks like it freshly made.. I won’t be surprised that I slept on dirty sheets as well! Definitely won’t come back here again.

After travelling around Asia a lot of hostels there have similar pods there (I have found), so it was great to find a European destination that also had these pods. I have always found that there is a bit more privacy with them and I tend to sleep a lot better. I also enjoyed having the bed made (something all the hostel in Europe don't seem to do- again in my experience). I really enjoyed my time here at Jacobs, place was clean, spacious. Had everything you need. One of the best hostels I have stayed in!

Amazing place. Everything considered, I think it's the best hostel in Dublin. The right price, great staff, clean, modern and close to city centre. The staff really make this place, though. Just a great crew that we're always willing to help and assist me during my stay. I have stayed in other hostels in the city and they're a bit less "personable", and also, while they may seem slightly cheaper, everything inside is more expensive, so you end up feeling a little deceived. But Jacob's feels like genuine value for money by comparison. If you are backpacking or just in need of a few nights sleep in Dublin, I can say confidently that this is the place you should choose.

i had a nice long stay here and i liked the property and ease of booking events and group activities. i found some of the staff acted inconvenienced by almost everything i asked or needed. i understand staying in hostels isn’t a hotel accommodation experience but i asked to be pointed in the direction of a mug or water or to get a towel and was greeted with eye rolls. i would stay here again but i hope this will be better in the future!

Modern Hostel just blocks from O'Connell Street. My first experience with sleeping in a Pod. Our all female 10 bed room was spacious and well organized. The sleeping pods, storage areas, and hooks were all numbered, so it was easy to keep track of where your stuff went. The signage was good in the room and in the hostel as a whole. With the curtain closed on the sleeping pod, it gave each of us an increased amount of privacy but reduced the amount of ventilation available, making the pods very warm. Linen is proprovided but towels are extra. The bar located on the ground floor made having a drink and not worrying about finding your way to bed nice. Quiet hours were enforced. Something for everyone, easy to find peace and quiet or a party depending on what you were looking for. As a senior traveler the pod was somewhat challenging for someone with bad knees.

This was one of the nicest hostel I've been in! Location wise was pretty close to some food spot which was nice. Not sure what else was around but the lobby has board games lots of tour brochures and very friendly helpful staff. Rooms were clean and very safe.

This hostel is amazing! I stayed in the 10 pod female only room which had a private en-suite. The room and pods were exceptionally clean and tidy and the bathroom was spotless, not to mention the shower was huge and there are 2 gorgeous large mirrors. Each pod has a huge locker that fit cabin bags perfectly and have hooks for hanging some things up. To say the pods are small, they feel surprisingly spacious and have a shelf, USB ports, hanging rail and 2 light settings. The pods can get quite warm when the curtain is shut but it’s manageable and perfect in the colder months. The staff at reception and on the bar were all lovely and welcoming, the only problem I had was the cleaning staff bursting in at 10am and having very very loud conversations, I think they must forget that people are sleeping at all times through the day in hostels. But this was the only issue I had from my stay! As a 21 year old solo traveler I felt very safe and taken care of, all doors are locked and have codes to get in so not just anyone can get in. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend.

Nice hostel & staff. Room was fairly clean. The bar area is pleasant to hang out in (and good for working remotely). The view from the rooftop is worth checking out too. Only con: the food is not very good. As in, the nachos had ketchup instead of salsa on them and the tacos list “hummus” as an ingredient…… Plenty of restaurants & grocery options nearby, though.

Hostel Jacobs in Dublin was a fantastic place to stay! The rooms were comfortable and clean, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the city. One of the standout features was the extensive breakfast selection. They offered a wide variety of options to suit different tastes, ensuring that guests could start their day with a delicious meal that energized them for their adventures in Dublin. Moreover, the staff at Hostel Jacobs were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to make guests feel welcome and were always ready to offer helpful advice or recommendations for exploring the city. Overall, my stay at Hostel Jacobs was a memorable and enjoyable experience, thanks to the comfortable rooms, the diverse breakfast choices, and the wonderful staff. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin!

It's a hostel and it was cheap enough, you can't expect much. I stayed 2 nights. The entire place was clean and modern. I didn't interact with staff much past check-in, but they were kind then. I didn't partake in any sort of group activities/socializing because I was too tired when I got back, but it seemed to have a decent enough social atmosphere. One of my issues, though, was the stuffiness of the pods (tip: you can borrow fans from the front desk for 10€ (you'll get the money back when you return it)). I went in September when it was a bit cooler, but someone who had been in summer said it could get pretty uncomfortable. The noise, though, was my biggest issue. It's right by a few bars (that's hard to get away from in Dublin, of course) and because of the lack of AC, which is common in the area, the windows were kept open at night and you could hear everything from the streets below. The lock to the door was also excessively loud, so it made it hard to come back to the room quietly later in the evening. I wouldn't have gotten much sleep at all had I not had good noise cancelling headphones, so if you're a light sleeper, be aware of the noise.

When I last was here, I had a great experience with Jacobs Inn. The rooms and the hostel in general were very hip, which is why I very much liked the charm of it. Kickers and other forms of entertainment are pay to play, though. Since I like to cook, I did appreciate the communal kitchen. They had two big refrigerators in which you could place your items. Label everything you've got and you're good to go. I haven't had any experience of stuff going missing, so that's a definite plus of course. There's plenty of working area and they're equipped with stools inside the kitchen as well. The pots and pans aren't the best quality, but for a few days in a communal kitchen, it's certainly enough. Checking in and out was simple and easy. I recommend you stay here and will come again in the future!

First and foremost: it’s very clean! All bathrooms, bar, reception area etc had been spotless. The staff is friendly and helpful. I stayed in a 10-bed dorm. The bed was comfortable and the curtains provide some privacy. All pods are well equipped with 2 lights, chargers, a shelf and hooks for hanging something up.

Great place to stay in Dublin, reasonable price and the bed pods are great. Cheap options for towel rental and breakfast, cool vibe and great location. The only thing I didn't like much was the shower, you had to keep on pressing every 15 seconds to let water run - I'm all for saving water, but it could be at least 1 minute per pressing...

The place was clean and everything was new, the staff were friendly and the pods were clean and comfortable, they can get a little hot at night though! I think they should insist and remember the guests to keep quiet at night and early in the morning, had a roommate that did a video call on his pod at 7am that lasted hours, also two German girls that were super loud over and over again even though people told them to whisper and not scream at night. Also the towels cost 2€ extra each, I thought they were included but nothing too bad. The place was super close to the city centre which is good.

I can sincerely say this is one of the best hostels I've stayed at in recent years. It was clean and well-kept. The staff was so welcoming, informative, and friendly. Staying in the pod was really comfortable and not at all claustrophobic. It was perfectly cozy for the fall weather. I highly recommend Jacobs Inn as a place for those who are traveling on a budget.

I honestly was a little nervous as this was my first trip to Ireland but I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The staff at the location are incredibly helpful and friendly. I met some incredible people here and enjoyed my stay! Very clean and safe.

Loved it! Super clean, organized and amazing atmosphere. I didn't do any socializing unfortunately as I was exhausted. But the bed was comfortable, my little pod was cozy and the black out curtain did the job well enough. Shower and adjoining toilet were both clean, I have no complaints! I'll definitely be back to enjoy the hostel experience better!

Very clean and safe. 10 bed dormitories entail small pods with lighting and charging, with a generous locker space secured with a chosen code. Bathroom was spacious and well maintained. Due to saving water, the shower only runs for 15 seconds - very irritating! You must keep pressing the button to switch it back on again. I was charged a couple of euros for the use of a towel. For the price, it is great.

I have complicated feelings about this hostel. It was clean, and a nice place to sleep, but that's about where the positives stop for me. First, there was no kitchen, which was incredibly inconvenient, especially because the bar/cafe attached to the hostel is fairly expensive, especially for those traveling on a budget. The rooms and ensuite bathrooms were clean, which was nice; however, Jacob's Inn has pod beds, which are enclosed and curtained off, and unfortunately, they do get incredibly stuffy at night. Reception has fans available to use, but they don't do much to cut through the heat. So, when staying here, I recommend you pack a pair of shorts to sleep in. This hostel is also very reliant on technology, which was somewhat unfortunate. My friend and I had to download two different apps for this hostel for the two nights we stayed: one for the room key, and one for the laundry service (self-service, pay with coins or through an app), which might seem like it's more convenient, but it was more of a nuisance to us. They do offer some events, like pub crawls, live music, and comedy shows, but the atmosphere of this hostel is not very social. It is very geared toward digital nomads instead, who use the common spaces to do their work. It didn't feel very warm, which is what I usually look for in a hostel. It definitely had more of a hotel feel. It is also in a somewhat dodgy area of Dublin. We were out at night one evening and we both felt uneasy walking through the area. Thankfully, it's not too far of a walk away from city centre. Personally, I don't think I'd stay at this hostel again. My friend and I had better experiences at Gardiner House and Abigail's.

I spent 3 nights here and I was truly disappointed. They do not include breakfast in their prices. Even when you order the breakfast you will have to wait for more than half an hour. At the reception also, you have to wait for more than half an hour to check in. Also, they do not have an open kitchen where one can drink water or anything, not even disposable cups. You are forced to use water from the bathroom. I doubt I can recommend this place to anyone. For their price one can get a place that offers better services.

Close to historical areas, trains to all areas and buses to airport. Staff extremely helpful. Hostel rooms and beds very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed meeting other travelers. Restaurant within building and lounge area very comfortable with a variety of more intimate/ more public seating. Food and entertainment wonderful.

  • 5/5 Bela D. 10 months ago on Google
I stayed in the pods and forgot about the fan rental option so I think visitors need to either remember to ask, or staff should remember to offer because we were sweating in those little things. However, they were comfortable, there were lockers, bathrooms were clean, the common area near reception was nice and the restaurant/bar had a cool vibe. There is a bus station, train station, and a cool bar around the corner named Brew Dock. I would stay again but with my own fan or in a private room. Looks like they also offer pub crawls and laundry facility.

Good, clean and secure place. Odd is that they charge you two days in advance though they have 24 hours cancellation policy. The excuse is that they can't charge you on arrival because they don't have credit card machines in reception. Although they have them in bar. Odd. But one of the cleanest hostels I've visited.

  • 5/5 Solon S. 5 months ago on Google
Great hostel. I would definitely recommend. The pods were amazing as they very comfortable, spacious, and you had your privacy. The only issue with them was that they didn't have regular power outlets for your laptop. In a decent location, just a short walk from the city center.

  • 2/5 Jay B. 2 years ago on Google
Cheap and a comfortable bed.....but...... The first morning no hot water so a cold shower, Cold loud radiators which wake you up on and off through the night as the heating system obviously needs attention, as a result the rooms can be chilly. Cleaning staff who don't care if you trying to sleep in the morning and are loud. The trains start rumbling past the hotel from 6am. If these things don't bother you then it's great but I'd have rather known about these issues and paid a bit more somewhere else.

Considering its a hostel. Phenomenal beds and space. Clean and staff very attentive. Certainly good value compared with any hotels in Dublin city centre. Parking hard outside to get, car park best option.

  • 4/5 Chloe H. 10 months ago on Google
Great location, but I think the pods are better in theory than they are in reality. You can get your space nice and dark for sleeping, at the expense of the pod getting quite warm. Staff were friendly and accommodating when I needed to switch rooms last minute, and everything was clean and tidy. Lockers in rooms were also very useful. Only other issue is the lack of a refrigerator or guest kitchen; definitely a great strategy for encouraging guests to spend money in the on-site cafe, but inconvenient for solo/budget travelers.

Upon my first visit staying here it was fine as I only had to stay over night but upon my second visit I found a stain which was not mine on my sheets which I felt like bringing up to the staff but since it seemed like a chore for them just being there I didn’t bother. Having seen the housekeeping in action I can understand why as I saw one employee pushing another in a laundry cart, which I get the atmosphere is supposed to be fun but at least make the place basically hygienic. The only reason I gave it two star was because I met some nice people there and it encourages me to get see more of the town more as I didn’t want to hang around there. It is also important to note I didn’t receive my change from the restaurant stuff which I was told would be given to me once they get the right amount.

This hostel was kept very clean, they offered things to do daily, luggage storage for early arrivals, and a bar with some food options. The pods were actually quite nice for privacy. They’re large, you’re able to sit up inside, have usb and good lighting that doesn’t keep everyone else up. Do request a fan at check in, they do get stuffy, even in December. Overall a great stay.

  • 3/5 Lynsey J. 2 years ago on Google
Was less than impressed with this hostel. No breakfast included and a bit overpriced. The showers and lights are set on a short timer so you have to keep clicking the button every few seconds. They market this as a sustainability practice but it is merely for cutting costs. The hostel also seems to have drawn an odd crowd. No young backpackers/travelers, mostly older people who can’t secure any other housing in Dublin. If I was in Dublin again, I would only stay here if it was my last option.

  • 2/5 Lauren B. 3 months ago on Google New
I stayed here for about 10 days. It was decent enough, the location is excellent and the pods are reasonably comfortable if you're not very tall. I would not recommend the food, it's pretty bad quality and you can get better food for less just around the corner. I felt like the receptionists were very nice, but there were definitely some issues with a couple of the bartenders. The female bartenders could be particularly bad, one of my friends was openly mocked for their accent and had trouble getting anyone to serve him at all. We reported the incident to the management, but they never got back to me. The main reason for my low rating is this negative interaction, no one should have to deal with racist/xenophobic remarks like this, especially at a hostel that largely serves international travelers. It made me really sad for him, he says that he regularly has to deal with this kind of behavior as an international student in Ireland.

After a very warm welcome in this very clean and newly renovated establishment, I had been curious about my bed in a pod. It was my first time sleeping in a pod hostel and I can truly recommend it. You have a little more privacy and I didn’t even hear my roommate snoring 😊. Lockers are provided in the room with enough space for a standard size suitcase

Experience was awful. Room was sweltering hot and insanely loud. Front desk listed several items available for sale such as shampoo, fans, converters. They had none. The "free" lounge was closed for a private event you had to pay to enter. When we first entered our co-ed dorm there was a naked man in the room. Staff acted as if we were a bother to them. Expensive, gross and unsafe.

Great place in the middle of Dublin, probably the cheapest way to get a clean room with a private bathroom. The only downside is the railway directly next to it, you definitely will hear the trains at night

Very friendly staff, all the employees really tried to offer me a great stay with suggestions and advice. However, this was impossible due to the management's policies: Firstly, there are no sockets near the pods (actually, there are only 2 sockets for an 8 pod room). There are only 2 usb ports for each pod but these take 8++ hours to fully charge a modern smartphone. So be prepared to roam Dublin without a phone and Internet as if you are living in the year 2000. Secondly, I would really like the management to try and use their timed water supply. The shower water lasts for about 10 seconds, and then you need to press the button again (be prepared to press it 60+ times for a proper 10 min shower). Thirdly, I doubt that my room's bathroom was cleaned once in my 4 days stay. Lastly, food and drinks are not allowed unless you buy them from the hostel itself. But how can you buy water if their shop closes at around 23:00? Overall, I would suggest you to avoid this hostel. For 30 euros a night, there are definitely nicer places to stay in Dublin.

Nice location around the main attractions of the city. But the neighborhood is quite dirty (follow the trail of plastic bags and cigarettes and you will find the hostel). Staff is a little bit fast but efficient. They didn't gave me all the details like the access to the bathroom. No kitchen to store the food. That's quite weird for a hostel. The bathroom is not in a good condition. Never imagined girls to put their garbage everywhere and putting toilet paper on the floor 🤣. I will also mention that one bathroom for 15 people is not enough. I can't never use it except during the night very late. You will meet all types of people here. Some talk, some don't care about your life. It depends totally of your luck. Mostly people come here for a week maximum and won't socialize that much. Very nice animations with the talented singer. Give him my thanks for his intervention. The service provided by the staff needs to be improved. Especially at the bar. It is so icy that I should have brought a sweater if I knew. I live in Spain currently and never saw people to be disdainful or look depressed that much. Especially in Andalousia. It's amazing. They are so warm and welcoming. I didn't want to leave Granada for its people.

Jacobs inn was a great place to stay! I had a very positive time here. I felt extremely safe being a young female solo traveler. Everyone was very also very welcoming. The only reason for 4/5 and the improvements they could make are the following: The beds were comfy but after a week on them the thin mattress wasn’t the greatest as well as the pillow was quite thin but that could be a personal preference. The other major thing was there’s no microwave or fridge at all so you can’t rely on left overs, although the bar and breakfast they did have was quite good and not overly expensive. The showers were okay.. I know people complain about having to keep pushing the button but thats so they don’t get left on and many places do that. My downfall with them was the temperature in the big female shower room, it was so hot it burnt my skin. There was no adjusting just one button you push in. Overall though this was an amazing and up to date hostel and I highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to stay in Dublin.

Great place to stay with really cheap prices if booking for a pod only. You are given a locker which is pretty spacious, and a bar downstairs. The social area is well maintained and kept clean, and the room is well cleaned too. This is a place you can book if you don't mind sharing the room with a bunch of people, but you have a private bed with all the necessary amenities. The location is right at the centre of town, north of the river, walking distances to many bus stops and tram lines. The reception is really helpful and security is good. O Connell Street is just a walking distance away, so is Trinity College Dublin and many businesses (for those students/workers that are having difficulty in finding accommodation, finding a temporary place to stay. Yes, Dublin room hunting is terrible). Beware that in the morning, everybody's alarm will start ringing, and if you do mind, you can ask for free earbuds from the reception. Other than that, there is only one toilet and shower room shared with a bunch of people, so you have to keep in mind not to use them for too long and also to take into consideration any delays due to such people. Overall, really nice place to stay, with comfortable private beds (in a shared room) with really affordable price.

Best Hostel I've ever been to! Clean rooms, pods were private and comfortable, located in a great area, and most of all the staff are some of the nicest, funnest people I've met on my travels. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Dublin! P.S. sorry for throwing up at the bar haha. And thanks for the brain hemorrhages

Brilliant Stay. I stayed here at Jabobs and that's the best hostel I've stayed in Dublin. Rooms are clean and beds are boxed in so you can sleep well. Shower facilities are really good for the accommodation type and the lounge is big and a cool place to hang out as they have a bar and plenty of seating. I'll definitely come back

Not super happy about this hostel. Rooms are very small and lights are weird. Very dim and they go out every 30 sec. Had a leak on our bathroom and the staff told us maybe we will fix it but tomorrow. Needless to say it was never fixed. The bathroom counter was all flooded. Showers go out every 10 sec so really annoying. No mirror in the room or shampoo in the bathroom. They charge for towels. They also charge for lockers to keep your luggage. Area is not great at night for women. Very shady. They are on the other side of the river. Bar is good. I’d say that’s the only good thing. But better go have a drink. Not stay there.

Lovely hostel in a great location! About a 10 minute walk from the main street and true city centre. The beds were comfy and had lots of privacy. Very clean! The staff were super kind and helpful. I will stay here again if I’m ever in Dublin!

The rooms are small and the beds are compact with each other but you have good privacy once inside. You have a locker with a pin for the storage. The pillow is quite improvable, too thin. It seemed that my head was resting directly on the mattress. The hostel is perfect located and I consider that the price is fair for the quality provided.

The hostel it’s well located near the city centre, the receptionist staff were friendly and let us check in, in our private room 3 hours early. The room was clean, however there was a lack of amenities such hot water for tea or coffee, bottle of water, neither had Tv. For the same price we could have stayed in a hotel with more amenities including good bathroom towel. The bar staff it’s rude and not professional.

Nice hostel - as some mention, it can get warm in the pods. We visited in late September so it was fine, they also added a fan to the room, but still I wouldn't want to stay there in the summer. Some also say the location is not great but we found it convenient! Just a short walk from airport shuttle stops and Trinity college. We also took transit to Jameson and that was fast, 10 minutes and no walking. You can rent towels for two euros. My feedback for the hostel is they should provide hand towels for free so you have something to dry your hands in the room bathrooms. Or at least some paper towels. The check in system was a little bit of a pain - maybe it's faster if you do it online beforehand using the link they send, but we checked in at the desk and they gave us a code for the doors, but said it takes about 20 minutes to process in the system. So we sat down and waited, but the code still did not work after 30 minutes. They gave us another code that worked immediately - but that's just a bit of a pain as we were tired and ready to shower. Bar down below is a nice hang out area - serves coffee and tea too, and a great breakfast for 10 euros in the morning.

Stayed 3 nights in a private room. Room was spacious and clean, but very warm. Would have been nice to open the window further or have a fan available. No kitchen available, we didn’t realize when we booked so that’s on us but I found it unusual for a hostel. This place is more like a hotel. The majority of the staff at the bar were not friendly at all. Great location for walking to the main attractions, very close to the train/bus/tram station.

Best backpacker I have ever stayed at. Pod is private, not sound proof. Bathroom very nice. Both room and bathroom was spacious, clean. Loved the restaurant downstairs. Breakfast from 07h30, music into the evenings, serving draught beers and food. Easy walk to town centre, or if you really don't like walking there is a tram stop very close, alternatively there is a bike rental station a block away.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Very clean rooms, brilliant bar with live music and the pods are really great. It's such a rarity to get any privacy at a hostel but the pods give you a space of your own. Located pretty much in the middle of the city just next to Talbot Street which is a great place for live folk music and a pint of Guinness. Transport links to the airport a 5 minute walk away.

This hostel is great! I love the privacy of the bed boxes! It is centrally located and just up the street from Spar, Lidl and other grocery stores. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. Only reason I can’t give it five stars is they don’t have any kitchen space for guests to use. At bare minimum a microwave would be nice. Otherwise it’s great. Would stay here again.

If you prioritize privacy, it’s very nice that you have your own pod at this hostel. The rooms are clean and have a ensuite bathroom with toilet and shower. There are also shared showers available, but I must say that I didn’t really like those, because the water was pretty cold and you could not regulate the temperature yourself. Because of the pods, you won’t be seeing other travellers as much as in other hostels, so if you prefer meeting a lot of people another hostel could be a better option. I would recommend Jacob’s Inn though, especially if you are looking for a bit more privacy!

A really good place to stay. This, based on recent experience, is what I call a 'podotel' because the pod accommodation is private with very good bathroom facilities but there is no communal kitchen facility

Nicest hostel I have been to. Easy and quick check in. The rooms were so nice and the beds were comfy. Super chill, clean and safe. If I am ever in Dublin again I would 100% stay here.

Stayed here for 3 nights. We were lucky enough to have the room to ourselves. The pods were a little small for tall people but it will make do. The beds were already made when we arrived and for a small fee towels were provided. The service was really good and the people working there were happy to help. We arrived early but could store our luggage until we could go to our room. The breakfast was nice but limited. It was doable for someone with a gluten intolerance since they served oatmeal porridge and eggs.

An affordable, clean, friendly hostel! Brilliant staff. We needed some help urgently and they called the ambulance and stayed with me and my partner the whole time. Highly recommend!

I've been in this hotel and I had a great time. From the welcome to the cleaning of the rooms. Good breakfast and location from the center. There were a lot of young people which made this place quite informal and joyful. There were spaces to relax and chat. Fair prices.

I love this hostel, this is my 3rd stay, whenever I come to Dublin this is where I choose to stay, the facilities are clean and tidy, the staff is very friendly, close to the city center, with many transport options, I recommend this place for everyone

Great stay as usual, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff! Stayed 3 nights this week, good location. The pods can get quite warm if the weather is hot with makes it hard to sleep. Other than that, I love staying there. Rooftop terrace is lovely with a good view! I never have breakfast, so cannot say anything about it. I will be back again !

Hey there! So, I've got to give a shoutout to Jacobs Inn in Dublin. I'm a lecturer who brought some students over from Germany and we had a really nice stay there. First off, the location? Spot on. And the prices? Totally budget-friendly. The staff? Super friendly and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was pretty good but it'd be great if they had more veggie and vegan options. Still, everything else was smooth sailing. They've got events going on every day and night, both at the hostel and around town. For example, we enjoyed the musical bingo they hosted. Oh, and the bar? Great vibe, plus you can grab lunch and dinner there if you don't feel like going out. Overall, Jacobs Inn gave us a fantastic Dublin experience, a big thanks to the whole crew there!
