Staff were so nice and helpful. Room was up 5 fights of stairs an no lift so completely unaccomadating for elderly or disabled, seems as if bed linen was never changed, very dirty, very unhygienic, also breakfast was on the brink of inedible and there was very little option, and don't waste your time trying to boil the kettle in your room.

It's a nice guesthouse. I had a very pleasant stay. The woman on reception was lovely, my room was cozy and clean and it was comfortable. The room was definitely on the cozy side but it was perfect for what I wanted in getting a good rest. If that is what you are looking for it is absolutely perfect as the area is peaceful at night.

We stayed here recently and they were accommodating: we were able to drop off our luggage early, even though we weren't able to check in early, it allowed us to be able to explore Dublin without lugging our entire lives around. Also were accommodating in trying to get us a quiet corner room, by the garden. The room was small but cozy, the shower was nice. Egans house is located in a quiet neighbourhood and we enjoyed our overall stay. Our only wish is that breakfast was included in the price.

The room was lovely and well aired and the receptionist was very friendly, kind and helpful, booked me a taxi for the next morning, sorry I couldn't stay for breakfast, looked good, maybe the next time, would strongly recommend.

Stay away. For the price they are asking you can do a lot better. We chose this place by mistake. Not close to Dublin center. Nothing to do around. Dirty looking rooms, no water pressure, cold water in the shower, outrageous price. Do yourself a favor and choose aother place to stay.

    * BEWARE - NO ROOM - NO REFUND * Tried to book through Expedia and through a lack of communication and notice was not provided with an opportunity to cancel my booking. Guest house has refused to engage with me, never contacted me (if you cared, you would surely contact a no-show customer if they didn't arrive on night 1 of 2) and provide any refund despite no stay across the two nights.

Very nice atmosphere, rooms and bathroom clean and cosy, the only negative thing is that the walls are quite thin and you hear every word from the other guests!Especially friendly is the lady at reception! So sweet and helpful! Greetings to Elisabeth from Germany!

The staff at Egans house is lovely and accomodating, the rooms are cosy and clean while the public areas welcoming. The beds were not really comfortable, they could be improved.

Fantastic guest house to stay very difficult to get a room because of the location & easy to travel into Dublin city centre. Staff very friendly and polite. Home cooked IRISH breakfast πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸ‘ŒπŸ₯‡. Local shops, pubs & many restaurants. Room very comfortable and clean. Private carpark. I would definitely go back to Egan's Guesthouse.

Amazing staff, very helpful. The bed was super comfy, bathroom was spotless and I liked the heated towel rails. The complementary coffee was very much appreciated as I left way before breakfast. There was a bit of noise from outside the window that I assume was from the boiler but nothing serious. Overall lovely cozy place.

Me and my husband were there November 2023. We had an amazing time there. The staff were very accommodating the rooms were clean and the price was not bad. We love our friends at Egans Guest House.

Very nice and cozy place. Lady at the reception was kind and super friendly. She showed us routes, buses, points of interest... Just one cons - you can hear everything what happens in a room next door. Thank you very much!

Very lovely hotel in a quiet and nice area. Staff very friendly and helpful, we could leave our bags before room was available. A 25-30 min walk to city center or take a bus nearby. We did both.

Premium pricing ($350) for a small room on the 4th floor walkup. Partly our bad timing as town was hosting both a rugby championship game and St Patrick's Day festivities. We had some small communication difficulties; despite the place's name and the "owner's welcome" every employee was Indo-Pakistani.

It is a very cosy guest house. The staff was very nice and helpful and allowed us to move into the room 3 hours earlier. The hotel is located just outside the city centre, but is very easy to reach by bus. In addition, it is located in a very quiet residential area and both restaurants and shopping facilities are within walking distance. The room was relatively manageable, but sufficient for 2 people. The bathroom was very small and in an older condition. However, everything was very clean. At night it was noisy due to some guests, as the walls and doors are very thin. The hotel is recommended for those who want to stay in Dublin for a low price and are satisfied with a simple standard.

We booked the family room for 5 (parents and 3 kids). Very comfortable. Also, breakfast worth it. You can leave your luggages and go for Dublin's visit after check out, they are very kind. I recommend.

Lovely hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are really nice and tidy. The same for the bathroom. The location is just outside Dublin center, so it's really calm and quiet.

Cosy, clean, and comfortable! I loved the interior, location and the really friendly staff! Can highly recommend for people who want to experience a residential area of Dublin! Dear Stella and Elisabeth thank you so much for helping to fix the shower, giving the invoice, and ordering the taxi! The receptionists are so sweet and kind ❀️

Not to bad was very warm this time no air con or fans to cool down otherwise I would have given you 5 stars in general it's a very pleasant place to stay very nice friendly staff unless you drive it is a little out the way but it does have a very good bus service and walks around are pleasant

Great accommodation. Room was comfortable and pretty. Includes coffee making facilities in room. Check-in and out is quick. Location is decent, in the suburbs, not too far from bus stops. Price affordable. Would recommend.

Great location in a beautiful quiet residential area, clean and spacious rooms with friendly staff. Staff accommodated my very late check in when my flight was delayed by 6 hours which I really appreciated! Thanks for the great stay, will definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to stay while exploring Dublin!

Went there on a weeks trip to Dublin. Very nice, clean and quiet place to stay in the north of Dublin. It’s roughly 25 Minutes by foot and 10 minutes by bis into the city πŸ‘πŸΌ

We have been taking a short break in Dublin every year for over 13 years. We always stay at Egans Guesthouse, in our favourite room. The staff is always friendly and helpful. At breakfast there is something for every taste. The bus stop is only a few minutes away (or you walk 30 minutes to the city). We love it.

We had a great time at Egans House where we were greeted by very kind and accommodating staff. We had originally booked a room for 5 but they were able to change the booking to a smaller (and cheaper) room as we were only 2 in the end. Room is super cosy with comfy beds and good shower. Everything is well maintained and clean. Good breakfast buffet with irish and continental options (sadly the only bread is toast (no fresh options) and the coffee is filtered, no espresso machine, but both are of good quality). Good connections by bus / train to the city center and airport. I’ll happily come back to Egans House on my next visit.

Good quality/price rate, nice residential area, our room was clean and comfy. Special mention for the receptionist named Elizabeth, who was particularly kind to us and helped us with everything we needed or asked for. Good experience, I would definitely recommend.

Nice BB convenient to city centre and Dublin airport. Good value. Clean and comfortable. Very friendly and obliging staff. Lots of shops and takeaways close by. 10 min walk to glasnevin cemetery and the famous oldest pub in Dublin Kavanaghs of De Courcy Square.

Amazing and welcoming staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent position if you're looking for a good placement, not too crowded, for a week or two, that's the best quality-price place you can possibly find! Thanks for this experience 😊

We spent 5 nights at Egans House. Our stay was absolutely fabulous - the staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming and helpful. Both our room and the common areas were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was really great - despite the small size of this guest house, we enjoyed a variety of Irish specialties and great coffee. The area nearby is safe, clean and very close to the Dublin Botanic Gardens - a must for travelers. Highly recommended - we would and will definitely stay there again!

A perfect little gem in Dublin! It was pretty cozy for our party of 5 but still wonderful! The breakfast was absolutely delicious and we left full and happy! We highly recommend this place! Plenty of take away within walking distance.

Had a decent time here. One complaint I had was that I couldn't get breakfast in the very early morning because they don't have fridges in the rooms. I had to give our food to the front desk who put it in the refrigerator, but at 6 AM when our day was beginning there would be no one at the front desk. Someone at the front desk specifically promised me they would be there at 6 AM so that I could come and reheat our food for breakfast but when I went downstairs there was no one there. Just a minor inconvenience but it basically prevented us from being able to eat our own breakfast two days in a row because the rooms don't have fridges or microwaves and we had to start our days early. My only other complaint is that the TV is probably the lowest quality, tinny sounding TV I've ever heard. It sounded like a really low budget motel TV. However, I had really peaceful sleep here and the old school radiator worked well, which is all that matters at the end of the day.

Nice room but it smells like an ashtray. I guess the previous guest didn't respect the no smoking policy. Found lots of hair on one of the single beds linen.

We had a great stay. Room and bathroom were clean. Staff was very helpful booking transportation and was willing to help in any way.

  • 4/5 Jadie C. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel was lovely, lady checking us in couldn't do enough for us, fair play.bthe only problem was that the room was freezing all night, despite all radiators being turned right up, there was no heat. No good for the baby.

Had an amazing experience at Egan’sβ€”the staff are wonderful and so accommodating. After accidentally booking the wrong night, they were able to switch my reservation and get me into an available room right away, no extra charge and with an early check in. They provided us with an extra converter and offered a lovely breakfast. The guesthouse has a very nice garden space outside and the neighborhood is quite charming with easy bus access into the city center. I’ll be back!

  • 3/5 Ricky O. 1 year ago on Google
Good location and comfortable rooms with friendly staff. However it was incredibly poor for parking with a breakfast buffet that leaves lots to be desired. Good value for the money, but perhaps skip breakfast.

  • 3/5 John O. 1 year ago on Google
Egan's is a quaint victorian house situation in the suburbs. Our room had been recently and tastefully decorated. However it didn't have aircon which was a problem in the warm weather. Reception provided us with a desk fan which gave some level of relief. The guesthouse is within walking distance of the National Botanical Gardens and Glasnevin Cemetery, etc. Breakfast at 12.00 a head was a bit expensive, especially if you were only having the continental breakfast
