April 2022: Stayed here for three nights and was very happy with the hotel. Got a smaller room with a queen size bed. The front desk attendant mentioned the smaller rooms are reserved for the corporate and government rates. I was really happy with the front desk attendants when both checking in and checking out. Overall, just genuinely nice people! Room was smaller than a standard room but as noted, that's a good trade-off for a lower rate. 👍 Bed was comfortable. Pillows were comfy. Overall, got restful sleep! Location is great. Lots of restaurants and coffee places nearby. There is a park 🏞️ across the street that I saw people running around. I didn't make it to the gym but the photos look good. I did eat at the bar in the hotel and really liked the fish 🐠 and chips! Overall, would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Dublin!

Went here for afternoon tea as a birthday celebration to my partner's mother. The room is stylish and elegant. The tea set has a gorgeous design and there is love piano music. We truly enjoyed the variety of teas, sandwiches, scones and desserts - all items were delicious. Was happy with the cost considering the hotel's fame and it was a pleasant surprise to know that different items can be replenished. A candle was kindly brought up together with a few treats, which was a lovely detail. We were quite let down by the attitude of the main staff member looking after us. She continuously made back-handed comments and overall seemed like she did not want to be there. We felt like we were treated as we did not deserve to be there and I really do not know why that was. Off the bat, when we were asked if he had been for afternoon tea there and answered "no, not here" we were received with a "great, now I have to explain everything for you, great start to the day". Initially, I thought it was just a personality trait, but the weird comments continued throughout our stay. It was a pity, but we did not want to make a fuss considering we were there to celebrate one of us. Overall, I am happy that I went there since I love trying all different afternoon tea places; however, I would not recommend it nor return after being treated this way.

5 star staff! From the front desk to the spa. We stayed during Christmas. We had a beautiful experience. They serve gluten free toast during breakfast. I just wish their bar offered gluten free beer like almost every other place in Dublin

This review is for brunch on the Terrace. The host Derek took us in straight away, without a booking. It was Saturday afternoon and Dublin was buzzing again so we felt truly touched that Derek and his team welcomed us warmly, and with open arms. We have a small baby and the team made a lovely space for her at the table. The staff we met were Emma and Kayla who were completely sensational and wore enormous smiles. As parents, this means the whole world to us. Babies can sometimes create a mess or be very loud in a dining environment, but we were treated with so much respect at one of the most stunning terraces in Dublin. To top the experience off, it began to pour heavily and Derek, Emma and Kayla escorted us out under umbrellas, even pushing the buggy. I wish I could rate 10 stars. This is hospitality at its finest.

Outstanding level of service. My first time in Ireland was made all the more special by staying at your stunning hotel. Alan was an absolute delight, every morning helping me plan my day. Afternoon tea was a treasure. I felt like an honored guest for 4 days. I look forward to staying with you again. Kimi Fowler United States

The hotel has been tastefully redecorated fairly recently and it's beautiful. We have stayed at the Peter O'Tool suite for 4 nights and we have really enjoyed it. We had a very good night sleep every night which was down to super comfortable bed, good quality bedding and lack of outside noise. Location of the hotel was perfect for us as well. I would love to say that the service was second to none, but not all was as you'd expect from a place like this. For example the concierge was not very helpful. He didn't know any places that would serve traditional Irish food but promised to message us once he manages to find it, which was fair enough, except we never got that message ( we have found a place which served coddle, Irish stew etc ourselves) Some of the breakfast hostesses were kind of stand-offish, but the breakfast service was very good. Food was nice, and plenty of it although except the seasonal fruit, it lacked in healthy options for me. Only one type of bread, no plant based milk choices etc. Despite the breakfast being included in our room rate, on 3 out of 4 days, we have had random breakfast charges added to our bill. However when questioned, they were removed with no problem. Check in and check out experience were really good, the young gentleman who was serving us was very professional, polite and a pleasure to talk to. We had an afternoon tea at the hotel and it was great, highly recommended. We also used the pool and a steam room facilities which was very enjoyable as we had the whole place for ourselves. Not sure if it's always this quiet, or if we were just lucky. The pool could do with some cleaning though. Overall very enjoyable stay with just a few minor issues.

Ok. This hotel does not need a review really but here is my view. From the moment we pulled up outside until our car was brought in front the next morning we felt like royalty. We stayed in a standard room which was spacious, quiet and comfortable. The bed was amazing. We had dinner and breakfast in the saddle room restaurant and both were outstanding. Both the attention to detail in the service as well as the food. If you can go and stay, do.

Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This site will compare countless booking websites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of the most well known in the area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely won't be disappointed. Stayed one night in a gorgeous room with great views of Dublin from the top floor. The staff were all helpful and friendly especially Hannah who checked us in! The place was spotless, the breakfast service was great and we had full access to the pool and leisure facilities. Will be staying again!

Stayed here for few nights during my work visit to Dublin. Perfect location within Dublin. You can walk to most of typical tourist spots from here. Ton of pubs and restaurants nearby. Amazing park next door if you are into outdoor running or walking. Staff was very courteous and checked most of us hrs earlier than normal checkin time. Rooms are smaller in one section but larger and modern rooms on other side. Very comfortable bed. Spotless bathroom. Cookies and chocolate in room are nice touch. Turn down service in the evenings. All day dining options in room. Overall great hotel and I would stay again in future.

Lovely hotel in perfect location overlooking St Stephen's Green. I would have given it 4 or 5 stars had it not been for the lack of options for dinner. On a 2 night stay, the hotel could not accommodate me and my family for dinner in their restaurant, or for afternoon tea on any of the 3 days. Instead we were offered the bar on a walk in basis, which serves the same lunch menu for dinner. It would have been somewhat acceptable if this menu had more than salad, soup or sandwiches on it. We had a nice lunch at the bar but obviously didnt want to have the exact same, very lunch oriented menu for dinner. This meant we had to go back to our bedroom to order room service - extremely disappointing from what is an otherwise beautiful place to stay. We ordered a goats cheese salad on our first lunch, which arrived without goats cheese. And a cheese omelette for breakfast on our second day, which arrived without any cheese. Small details, but also basic details which should be easily managed by a 5 star Hotel.

Excellent venue with great history. Would definitely come back, in fact the next time I’m in Dublin I will stay here! Fantastic food and staff made a very pleasant long lunch with my Dad. Dessert was particularly good!

Amazing lunch menu in the saddle room. Quite good value, in relative terms. Great for a sunday lunch with friends or family. Extremely filling and great food. Will absolutely be back. Also huge fan of the afternoon tea in the Lord Mayor Lounge! Incredible dining options in this fine establishment

Had afternoon tea here and absolutely loved it! The sandwiches were delicious and refills were allowed. The staff were incredibly accommodating. The menu was as requested with all dietary modifications. The tea selection was vast. Overall wonderful experience and I will definitely be going again!

The cream of he crop. Located in the heart of Dublin on St. Stephen the Shelburne is the destination of choice for well healed travelers and local business people alike. The hotel offerers generous and well appointed conferencing facilities and number of locally famous watering holes and fine dining. Accommodation and service are top notch and you will find some interesting Irish history associated with this hotel. If your in town it's worth a visit.

Visited the Shelbourne for tea and returned later for drinks and a cheese plate on the bar. Lovely lovely place. The fresh flowers in the entry are spectacular and I am having longing thoughts about the delicious tea tray!!

Quiet 5 star location in the heart of Dublin. We enjoyed every moment our our 5 night stay at this hotel. The rooms were large and had ample storage for clothing for a longer term stay. The included breakfast was amazing and the service was really good. Highly recommend this hotel and we will be back again soon.

Celebrating our anniversary in Ireland, this was the last leg of our trip, a bit of an issue with our room. But Alicia, the supervisor, really took the time to “hear us” and ensure our expectations were met so we could end our spectacular holiday and first trip to Ireland on a high note!! Thank you!!

  • 5/5 Suellen H. 5 months ago on Google
This magnificent hotel deserves every star of its five-star rating. This was our second trip to Dublin and we will always choose The Shelbourne as our only place to stay when we are there. We definitely will visit again.

Beautiful hotel property to stay at, walkable to all tourist and shopping areas. The park is right across the road for a nice stroll or run in the morning. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Make sure to try the bar, whiskey bar, afternoon tea and saddle room!!!! They’re all in incredible!

One of the most gorgeous hotels I’ve stayed in to date! Stayed here last month for my 40th birthday from the states- location is perfect and great proximity to all the main attractions. We had high tea there which was also lovely! They accommodated to my being a vegetarian without concern and the presentation was beautiful as was the tea! Turn down service nightly, multiple bars and restaurants to choose from all in the same building was nice. When we came I was feeling quite ill from being so jet-lagged and they offered me water and tried to get us into a room as fast as possible which was much appreciated! Absolutely worth staying in every single time!

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at this amazing venue and it was truly a delightful experience. As a first-time photographer at this location, I arrived early to capture some shots of the venue and its exquisite decor. Cathy, the event manager, was incredibly welcoming and professional, taking the time to show me around and ensuring I had everything I needed. The reception took place at The Constitution Suite and was a sight to behold. The space was beautifully decorated by the Shelbourne florist, creating a stunning backdrop for the celebration. The attention to detail and ambiance added a touch of magic to the event. I am genuinely impressed by the 5-star service provided by the staff and the overall atmosphere of this picture-perfect palace. The experience was memorable, and I'm eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to come back for another wedding. If you're looking for a venue that combines elegance, professionalism, and top-notch service, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

What can I say ? The Shelbourne is the best hotel in Dublin by far. Yes it is expensive but ot is truly a 5 star experience. Staying here is beyond my budget but my wife and I like to pretend we are rich and treat ourselves to afternoon tea on occasion. Lovely building in my favourite part of town. Go see for yourself....a lot of stars stay there so you might see someone famous.

It is a hard working hotel, with attentive staff and mostly charming going abouts, with decor and dining and drink and rooms to please. However one very critical thing I’ve noticed at now my 3rd stay at their autograph line of hotels and otherwise is the beds just aren’t particularly comfortable and I think that’s unforgivable. Beyond all offerings the point here is somewhere to sleep, and it should be excellent sleep for the price. Otherwise it’s a great hotel, completely.

Had afternoon tea here with a friend. Beautiful place, great service, lovely friendly staff. The food is very tasty and plentiful. There is also a great variety of tea's and coffee's. They even give you a lovely takeaway box for your left-overs. I'd highly recommend this place.

This hotel is a jewel. Right across from St Stephan's Green Excellent staff. Great food. Challenging for guests to use hair dryer or curling/straightening irons due to placement of outlets and low lighting. Even the bathroom had low lighting. Frustrating but made do. The room was lovely.

The Shelbourne by Marriott deserves more than 5 stars. Service was above expectations. The hotel is famous. USA presidents have stayed here. We had a luxurious suite so nice it was difficult to leave to site see. I can’t brag enough on this historic hotel. Splurge if you can when you are on Dublin. You won’t regret it.

We stayed here New Year’s Eve, the hotel is very clean and you get a great welcome at the door from the valet when you pull up to park your car. The entrance hall inside is fabulous it’s was the Christmas tree and decorations would take your breath away. The check in was very quick we had arrived early but our room was ready which was great the staff are so nice and helpful couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel room was fab it has a coffee machine and kettle to make tea, hairdryer, ironing board everything you need really The bed was so comfy and sheet so soft and the pillows real luxury very quite there was a lovely balcony which we would be nice in the summer.. we went for dinner in one of the restaurants it was beautifully decorated we got a seat beside the window lovely to look out off and people watch. The staff are really lovely and attentive our waitress was lovely, however the food was not as good as We expected it to be a bit disappointing to be honest which took away from our special night. we had some drinks and cocktails they were made very well. Our check out was very quick and effortless our car was ready for us about 15t mins later they tell you this when you drop it off and very friendly guys all in all it was a fantastic stay I would love to go back again.

I went here for a last-minute lunch with my family. Not only were the staff very friendly and accommodating, but we've had the best lunch and dessert experience possible. Superb quality down to every detail. Absolutely stunning and delicious food that refreshes the soul and worth every compliment. No faults to report. I'm looking forward to visiting next time.

Went to have the Afternoon tea and the experience was lovely. It was €65 per person (+€25 if you wish to add a glass of champagne 🥂) and the amount of food we had was unbelievable. Lovely atmosphere and there was a pianist playing all the time for us. Book at least 2 weeks on advance.

I've only ever experienced the cocktail bar and the terrace here but that's all I went in for! The cocktails were incredible and artisit and the service was second to none. Price point on the cocktails a bit high... but expected considering the hotel and all it stands for, worth a visit!

This is a review of the bar downstairs. We popped in early evening after a local recommended it as a place for a drink. Such a welcoming atmosphere and the staff were just lovely. Beers really well priced and the cocktails looked very special. Sadly no snacks apart from nuts.

Well done! An excellent showing for your stay in Dublin! Lovely staff, stunning building. Rooms are a touch small but the bathrooms by a long stretch make up for the slightly tight quarters. Breakfast is over-the-top and well worth taking time for.

Wonderful, historic hotel that's been brought up to date, without losing any of its old-fashioned charm. Unusually large selection of bars/restaurants for the size of the hotel - includes a cozy late night bar; a bright modern pub-like restaurant/bar, a "proper" tea room and a full service grand restaurant. Great service throughout, though some of the staff could benefit from a bit more experience. Perfect location, right on St. Stephen's Green and near many shops and restaurants. Highly Recommended

Exquisite. We stayed longer than expected and moved from a standard room into a larger Heritage room- have to say it was night and day. While the smaller room was serviceable, the Heritage was considerably nicer and delightful. Will definitely be back if travels take us this way.

Such a stunning hotel in a perfect location. Sheer luxury and outstanding service. I recently visited for a birthday lunch. The seafood platter was one of the best I've ever had. Oysters, langoustines, smoked salmon, crab and mussels all super fresh and of the best quality. I'm not usually an oyster fan but omg they were absolutely delicious! Service, was of course amazing and our waitress even got us a table on the terrace for a drink after. A must visit!

Really enjoyed our daughters wedding day in this beautiful hotel. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent. The rooms in which the wedding service was held was a perfect size and intimate, the dining and drinks reception area was also perfect. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. This was our first stay here and we would love to stay again. Really would recommend a stay here although it's not cheap you get what you pay for as they say and they deliver on all your expectations.
