Would give 0 stars if I could. The hostel itself had some major issues such as cleanliness, key card not working on room door, and the door not working on the outside of the building (requiring the staff to open it each time). However, the BIGGEST issue is the incompetent/rude staff (mainly the three different β€œmanagers” that I had the misfortune of dealing with). To shorten the rant, stay clear of this hostel. Honestly, any other option would give you a better experience.

If it was possible it would get -5. Worst hostel I've stayed in and I've stayed in many all over Europe. Bad experience started before I got there, tried to make a change to my booking was told they were too busy on the phone and to email. On arrival they hadn't made the changes and were reluctant to do so. Incredibly rude and unfriendly. Staff let you into a building your card key is only for your room. Me and my friend stayed in a 4bedroom, the mirror had been ripped off the wall and there was only one plug socket, which was loose from the wall and only one socket worked. The floor shared shower room was dank and mouldy, the toilet room only marginally better. My friend went to complain about the mirror at reception and was told "if you want a mirror go and buy one from the shops, this is a hostel, what do you expect?". To add to this the window in our bedroom wouldn't close and was incredibly noisey. The little heater provided in the bedroom didn't give off much heat. The wifi doesn't work, my friend was told it would be getting fixed next week. On reading the reviews however it seems it hasn't been working for months. The bed linen was clean is about the only plus point. No lockers in rooms. We were charged 5€'s each deposit for our room card keys. When we went to check out we were told it had only been written down as 5€ (despite it being 5€ per card) and were refused the deposit back for one of the keys. Zero atmosphere in the hostel either. Avoid this hostel it's worth spending a little extra to stay elsewhere.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Terrible customer service. Everyone was extremely rude and not helpful when just about everything went wrong. WiFi did not work despite being advertised as a free amenity. Water went out and staff did as little as possible to help get it fixed. Nothing was done to make up for these issues. Rooms were way too warm, small, and only 2 outlet jacks for a 6 bed room. Free breakfast consists of cereal and toast. The only perks to this place is the location (though there are other hostels in the area). I can’t even say you get what you pay for because you lose so much more than money by staying at this place. Spend the extra few bucks and stay anywhere else.

Great place. Not too luxurious, nor excellent breakfast but enough for me. If you stay there take into account that the ensuite rooms have no toilet inside and the day tour are too tiring (too many hours seated in a coach seat). Staff is very nice and they will help you any way they can. Would I repeat? In the hostel, of course. The tours...maybe those that don't around the city.

The staff is friendly and helpful, and the hostel is nicer than most hostels! There are no lockers in the room, and the housekeeping could be improved. But I had a great experience! We had 8 in our group and we had the entire 10-bed room to ourselves!

First the good parts: the staff is kind and efficient and helped me and my friends with the trouble we had. I liked the duve, mattress and pillows (my friend though the mattress should be softer to be better) and the linen seemed to be changed as expected. The bad points: the cleaness of the bathrooms showers varies a lot during the day... The shower location is inconvenient... I've been to 10 and 4 pp dorms and they had 4 and 2 respectively electric power points. The rooms are dusty and noisy. The kitchen can be quite disgusting too. Other: they have rooms reserved for 'walk in' guests, so it can be an option when everything else is booked online. I haven't heard about any nice hostel in Dublin so far...

The receptionist guy was very sweet. I checked in and my friend and I were put in a mixed room, (which I did not realize). I went back to him and asked if we could move rooms to an all female dorm and he helped us out. However, the hostel is very noisy. The bed sucked, my opinion, but I woke up for every noise and I’m usually a heavy sleeper. The WiFi also went in and out so I used data the majority of the time I was there.I feel like the photos are also outdated. The paint is tearing and the wood is cracked. Some rooms have a sink and mirror.

My experience at paddy's palace was not good at all. The only positive point was the location, as it is close to several things that you can do by walking (if you have the mood) or even by bus. The very tight room, the one I stayed in, had 8 beds but no physical space for it, with only one power point close to one of the beds, thus making it difficult to charge the cell phone. Terrible bathrooms, very dirty and with poor access because on the side where I stayed there were 4 bathrooms with a shower for many people. I don't recommend, I wouldn't go back

This hostel is bare bones but the beds are clean and comfortable and we had excellent staff on our second day here. Less than excellent staff on the weekend (Easter weekend). We also loved the tour and the guides from paddywagon tours!

It's a hostel impersonating a B&B. 3rd floor walk-up, broken recliner with cobwebs and dirt, unfinished makeover, no television, no phone, one towel per person, no coffee or tea in room, no vending or ice machines...

My experience is deplorable the Supervisor of an Asian like and the cleaners are very rude and arrogant. It's the first worst experience I have seen living in a hostel we are treated so bad because it's the only hostel you stay longer period and therefore they take an advantage of that. You can be mishandled, discrimination and arrogance is played on your face because you don't have where to complain or where to go to, accommodation in Dublin is very painful and very devastating. You/we are desperate even payment is not uniform example rooms payment range between 15 and 16 Euro during the week but weekends it's 18 euro however that's only if such weekend is quiet otherwise it's more. They also have longer term where you pay 85 euro per week but the rooms are pathetic with people who are very tidy. Others pay 200 every two weeks but me this Supervisor told me be in a room of 8 people I have to 126 every week and not to keep on changing every now and then. The Supervisor lacks communication skills or his communication language or approach is so bad and very demeaning. In a world where there are no checks and balance like here in Dublin life can be very miserable I hope one day employers will care to know what customers and clients go through under some of their employees. Unfortunately this Supervisor and cleaners who are so bad are not native Irish, most of the Irish reception receptionist are very good, understanding but are mistreated by the Supervisors who are not native Irish. I hope someone in management of this hostel can come across this message and investigate the problems that are in this hostel. The fridge, freezer and ovens are not working and they don't care yet we live as we pay for accommodation and services which is not there. I hope one day governments will ensure professional ethics at places of work are held without mistreatment and discrimination. I am new in Ireland but I see God help this country!

The toilettes are dirty and the heating was all the way up at all times. No way to regulate that, which results in a sweaty session. We tested two showers, in one we were not able to control the heat and in the other one we had nearly no water pressure, if you hold the shower head upside-down, no water is coming out at all. The WiFi is only available near the reception, which is in an entirely different building for us, the reciptionist said, that he is just as disappointed as I was. Really helpful. The window consist of only one glass panel, which does not protect the room from the nearby train rail, it does not even close completely. Yes, it is cheap. But barely functional would describe this hostel best.

Good location and nice friendly staff. As its a hostel you of course do not expect luxury. However a clean bed is what you get. If you are backpacking or going with a group I would recommend this place.

The bed was nice. I had a 6share room however there was only two power points in one section of the room. The other room mates may have hogged up all the power.. so you might need to charge your devices when they are out The kitchen was small, not much provided for breakfast and i wasn't able to locate if they provided any juice. Other than that, bed was comfy. I got a good nights sleep.

Staff were so helpful when I found myself in a urgent need of a place to stay. Lovely hostel in the centre of Dublin near to most main streets of the capital and they also organise excursions around Ireland. Would recommend it as a hostel to stay in.

Took a tour to the cliffs of Moore through this company. Had a great trip! The pricing was fairly reasonable, felt a little rushed at a couple of the stops beforehand and we had just an hour and a half at the cliffs themselves (not near enough time to explore even half of it), but the tour was including drive time was over 12 hours, it kind of makes sense why they were hurrying along. Guide was very funny and great to talk to! Gave some great recommendations for Dublin.
