We had a HORRIBLE experience with KGT House. Do NOT, by any means, book it for your stay. Me and my friend are in Dublin for St. Patrick’s Day and we booked our stays way earlier. We were supposed to spend 1 night at KGT house before we move to another place. And 8 hours before the check-in time they send me a message saying our booking was cancelled. The people working there did NOT offer any additional accommodation that could help us. Only said they would give us our money back, but that could take ages. During St. Patrick’s weekend everything is full. We couldn’t find a place to sleep overnight. I’m writing this review from the lobby of a hotel. Do NOT book KGT House. Ever!

I had the room with bathroom on the 1st floor (window facing the back) - the room was clean, furnishings not the newest, bathroom was small but ok and the water was hot. The location was good, bus stop right in front of the building and others in the immediate vicinity, but the city center is also within walking distance. There were also supermarkets, coffee shops etc in the immediate vicinity. But: the ventilation from one of the stores was running all night - and it was so loud that it was impossible to ignore, even with the window closed and earplugs. In the end, the room with the window facing Dorset Street might have been better....

Not the best hostel we stayed at. The private bedroom was clean, but the matrass needs replacing. Communication with the staff in general was rather poor. Hostel in general was basic, but what would you expect for that price?

Pros: good location, friendly staff when they’re around, nice quaint kitchen and dining area, good cost Cons: 15 bed dorm shower had barely any water pressure, the pillows on the beds were flatter than flat, was told check in was 13:00 but didn’t receive that message until 15:23 even though I had messaged twice in two weeks for confirmation I understand the price so I cannot complain too much about the accommodations but the lack of communication was a big turn off and rubbed me the wrong way. I would have still complained about the shower and pillow situation and given it 3 stars had the communication not been so bad

Well you get what you pay for. It's an ok place if you just want a place to sleep and shower. But mind you, the place is very small, there's no attendant for check-in / check-out, and the hostel has 16 people per room. Nevertheless, while I was there stuff was clean enough, and the small tea room offered enough space and tranquility to work on the laptop for a few hours. Almost at the front door, there's a bus stop that can get you right into the city center.

I am writing a review mostly to alert other about the fact that if arrive after 21h, you won't be able to check-in. I booked through Agoda and the information I got is that check-in was after 14h and an email account. As I had a late flight, I contacted them via email before the deadline for cancellation to make sure I could check-in and I received no reply. I decided to use the number that appears on google and the call didn't go through (got the message of incorrect number). Contact agoda who confirmed that the booking was only until 21h and they gave the same phone number. Tried again and the call didn't go through. So be aware that in case you need to contact this place they will not reply and there is no phone alternative. Either it blocks call from abroad or the number is fake. However, both options are unnaceptable. Overall, if you think you might arrive after 21h or have concersn of flight delays do not book at this place. You won't be able to get in touch with them.

They did us a thing a hotel must never do: denied us our room the day we should have stayed in this place, forcing me, my girlfriend and our daughter (3 years old) to wander across Dublin under the rain in search of another accommodation (we went to the cheapest one: 256 euros). Horrific experience

Iv stayed in some very bad and stingy hostels before but as long as I can sleep I'm fine. If ur not up before breakfast starts a big gang of cleaners came into the room being extremely load laughing talking and joking loudly wuth eachother whilst ckeaning at one point two stood at the end of my bed whilst I tried to sleep and where chatting extremely load. Officially in a tired kranky mood, I understand them coming to clena but there was honetsky no need for how load they where being they even opened my bed curtain a bit when they stood socialising at the end of my bed whch was a total invasion of privacy

I'm only giving one star because I cannot give zero. The worst nights of my life. No ventilation, airflow or light in a 16th person dorm. No employees therefore no security, No reply to inquieries, you cant rent a locker, get a clean towel or anything because they are simply not there. Men were storing the whole night, it smells insanely bad and there are two bathrooms for 16 ppl. It is so dirty, unhealthy and disgusting. I would advice if you are looking for a place in dublin - better pay more than stay here. The worst hostel I have ever attended.

FOR YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY DO NOT COME HERE!! We stayed in the dorm room. My bed had lint and small pieces of garbage from previous people. In the morning the cleaning team (who were nice to talk with and I understand they're only doing what their boss tells them to, but) only folded the sheets that had been used by the people who checked out and placed them on top of the bed again for the next person. THEY DON'T WASH THE SHEETS/COVERS/BEDCLOTHES BETWEEN GUESTS. You can check-in in the afternoon but there is no reception, you can only ask for towells/locks/etc in the next morning when you might catch an employee. WE WERE ROBBED DURING OUR STAY HERE. With no locks available until the next morning, my friend had to put her bag in a locker without locking, and someone went through her things and took her money. I put my phone next to my face, half under the pillow, but it was also stolen and according to the boss/owner of the hostel my phone was unantended. One of the permanent residents was walking around at 4am with a hat on, but when we pointed it out the owner completely dismissed it and rambled about someone who hadn't been to the hostel in days. Other bad things include: The room's emergency exit was partially blocked by lockers and permanent resident's bags. Room with no natural light or airflow. There were 2 tiny windows but the light never actually reached well into the room. No air renovation so the room air was heavy and smelled very bad. If the toilet paper runs out you can go look for it downstairs (you might be lucky and the downstairs bathroom will have some, or not) or once again wait for when an employee is present and specifically ask for it. Cramped "kitchen". The floor of the hallway to the room was always sopping wet. Only allowed to shower within certain hours for limited minutes. If I can say one good thing about this place is that outside this place, there is a bus stop nearby, but that's not something to credit this place for.

Terrible. The beds were the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on and I have stayed in over 150 hostels. The beds were so bad I had to pile pillows on top of it and sleep on those. I paid extra for a private room and there were flies in the room and it was not clean. Do not recommend.

Absolutely the worse accommodation booking experience I have encountered. The receptionist is very rude and disrespectful. No keys, no info provided and no code to the door so we coouldnt get access. No one answered the phone for a whole day. And we got charged for not staying in.

The place is not clean, the shower has a very low pressure, and the room is barely 30m² for 18 beds. It's a nightmare. Only you can't have nightmares because you can't sleep, the ceiling lights never turn off. Check-in and out hours are random too, I got shaked up by the cleaning staff 1 hour before the required check-out time.

The location is good but the room 4 where we stayed was not OK. The shower didn't work at all and after we tried several times to tell the people in charge nothing was done. I wouldn't repeat this experience.

Everyone’s reviews prior are VERY dramatic. This hostel was yes very basic but what do you expect for the price. Stayed in the 16 bed mixed dorm and was absolutely fine. Beds were comfortable with curtains for a bit of privacy. Check in was available later at night as was provided a code. Bring a lock for the lockers though as these are provided. People moaning about snoring… why would you share a room and not expect this? If you want luxury pay for a night at the Hilton you cheap sod. Very reasonable for the cheap price we paid and 1 nights stay.

Excellent value for money, very well located, very close to the centre, in addition to having a bus stop in freight to the establishment. Clean and comfortable beds, closet option to store your things, clean bathroom with hot water and several bed linen options and a great heating system. The highlight was the included breakfast!!!!

Good value for money. Enjoyed our stay. Cute room with a big window and reasonably sized bathroom. Mattress was quite hard but wasn’t really an issue.

If you just need a place to stay, sleep in Dublin airport. It'll save you the misery you will experience here. Full on NASTY!!! Small and horrible bunks. There tier with the most awkward ladder. If you are in Dublin for few days, do not stay here. If you are in Dublin for one night, go on a pub crawl or sleep at the airport . Bring a padlock if you must stay here but best believe you'd be displeased with your decision

I got there and someone popped round to talk to me but when I went back noone was around and I was searching for ages. The locker was broken so I had to use another. Too crowed and impossible to sleep. So close to the centre and easy to get to.

The 16 people room is a nightmare. People doing drugs inside, no staff so no control over anything, poor cleaning, lack of ventilation, hard to breath inside there, the kebab restaurant next to the building had its ventilation right into the rest rooms. 2 bathroom for 16 persons it's a problem when everyone wants to take a shower (you better take a pair of flipflops if you don't want to get an infection into your foots). You'll have to take care of your things if you don't want to get robbed during night.

First off DO NOT STAY HERE IN WARM WEATHER!! NO AIR-CONDITIONING you will MELT... Only stayed for the private room but was accosted by MANY TINY UNINVITED GUESTS LIVING IN THE BATHROOM!!! they seem to have made home in the poorly fitted shower... SHOWER IS BASICALLY UNUSABLE!! Also maybe clean the hairs off the pillows please and thanks. Tv on wall is purely decorational, not functional at all unfortunately. feel like this was some reality show practical joke.. please hit us up when the episode comes out, many not thanks :) Badbye.

This place is a nightmare and it's not safe. Men and women are mixed I put 1 star because you can't put zerotogether. One toilet and one shower for 16 people, dirty. The place stinks with no ventilation. The men snored all night and we couldn't sleep. The place is cramped I spent the worst night of my life is one of my worst experiences do not come here I would not even recommend to my worst enemy.

Room and bathroom clean. Room very, very hot with not even a fan. Very noisy area. Notice on wall advising that it takes 15 minutes to get hot water for a shower.

We stayed here for one night as we had to go to the airport early the next day. Our room for four was clean and big enough. Bathroom was great. As the accomodation is located directly at a big street it is very noisy. On the other hand you can go sightseeing very easily. Our big problems were the beds. Those were partly broken what kept us awake.

Well maintained little place in the city center. Plenty of eating places around. Missed a kettle to make tea, but having a microwave in the room made up for it. Folding dining table for up to 3 was another great thing. Road outside gets quiet overnight, as a little on the edge of centre, but the apartment itself was a bit noisy anyways, with people walking in adjacent rooms and floors above and stairs which got uncomfortable until they all slept. And a little overpriced compared to other similar places but not bad again considering cheap breakfast onsite. All in all,, its a satisfactory stay for one to two nights for tourists

Stayed in the 16 bed dorm. In the female shower there is mold on the ceiling and toilet seat is lose (yes I could tell them this, but also the cleaning lady should know this) overal floor of the room is clean but it needs cleaning between the walls and the beds for sure. Fridge and kitchen available but I couldn't find any cutlery. Room has no window so it really smells like 16 people sleep there. Easy entering with codes. No reception.

  • 5/5 Paul S. 1 year ago on Google
Check in was very handy, as we just had to retrieve the keys from a lockbox. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. Great modern bathroom and really reasonable for the price.

Happy enough to stay in the KGT mixed dorm room. * However cleaning by staff should be done after the 10am check out. Staff turn on the dorm lights at 9am ( not everyone checks out daily), and start emptying bins, mopping the floors and cleaning the bathroom, holding customers back from getting showered and dressed to leave by 10am. * One of the staff complained because my friend and I were not ready to check out on time !!!

Small room bunk beds. Toilet shower clean. You need to bring your own padlock for the lockers.

Not recommend this hostel. They give you a code to enter and there's nobody to attend you in case you have any question or you need something. Poor quality. Common zones are ridiculous. Strong smells is passing from a restaurant located aside and invades all hostel. Bathrooms are too poor and small. I didn't see any window in all hostel including entrance, all common areas, bedroom or bathroom. Good breakfast.

One of the worst experiences of my life. I absolutely do not know how was it possible they obtained the licenses to keep that place open. The toilet is filthy. One. For 16 people. The room is ridiculously small and crammed. No or very little ventilation. The smell of feet and sweat was disgusting. The mats where overused and bedsheets the same. Personnel absent and not replying to the phone most of the day. The place is just not fit to the number of people.

I would like to send this message directly to the owner of the Hostel, Mohawk man. Room with 16 people is a sauna with no ventilation. There is no water pressure and you wake us at 9 like a prison guard. The bread at breakfast has mold on it and the cupcakes have not moved in three days. Please up your standards. Rise and shine.
