Music was good but unfortunately that was the only positive part of visiting this pub. My only regret whilst visiting Ireland has been purchasing a drink here. One glass of Archers (peach schnapps) with lemonade was charged at €17, not even including the lemonade which was then charged as an additional fee. For reference, the glass was very small and primarily filled with ice (which was not requested). An entire 70cl bottle of pure Archer's would usually retail for around £11 in the UK and approximately €19 at most in Ireland. We have been out for incredible meals in great restaurants here for less than the cost of one drink at this pub. We left without ordering anything else. I will never drink here again and nor will anyone I visited with. The other bars in the area were cheaper with better atmospheres and the same degree of good live music, so I would highly recommend giving any of the many other places in Temple Bar a try instead. If you do visit this particular pub anyway, please learn from our mistake and don't order a drink - you can get much more for less elsewhere. Disgustingly overpriced and I can see now that this is also reflected within other recent reviews (i.e. someone mentions being charged €27 for a pint here vs €6 for the same order down the road, and even a Dublin local has left a review to dissuade tourists about from going to this particular place too). I hate leaving negative reviews but I feel compelled to warn others. This pub is not as user friendly as it may seem from the outside and I would hate for anyone else to experience the same. Really disappointing. - Feb 2023.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T GO THERE, Nearly 20 euros for 2 pints, then the securities/bouncers basically kicked us out, me and my brother, i asked them what was the reason to be kick out, and they replied " we don't need a reason" for sure was because ( in they view) we weren't consuming enough for them, even after spending 20e for just 2 pints, and no reason to be so rude they could just say it in a nicer way, instead of being so RUDE and agressive. Terrible experience, they made me feel NOT WELCOME in Ireland, unfortunately makes me not want to go back to Ireland ever again.

Busy, full of yanks and expensive. But it's a great place to go when you want to drown out the noise of the city. Great craic, great music and some of the best hangovers I've ever had to endure.

Brilliant pub, one of the best I’ve ever been to, the decor is fantastic and live music was very impressive. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

It’s nice pub, they have two floors, in the basement they are playing mostly up beating music, not something Irish. On the first floor they are playing mostly Irish + some international classic songs which is great. I prefer the first floor because usually is not so crowded and you can enjoy the music. Usually the base floor is very crowded! If you want to order a beer you can ask them to give you a sample to try it. Each beer cost around 5€ per half pint and 8€ for a pint! In comparison with the temple bar, it’s better because the musicians are not changing so often and it’s much less crowded!

Local Dublin person here. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I've not stayed in the hostel. But the pub/bar is a shockingly expensive tourist trap. €9.80 for a pint... designed to hoover the money out of tourists pockets. Walk 4 mins south of here and your in an area where locals drink. Dame street/ George's street. You'll pay max €5.80 for a pint. Avoid. It's an unauthentic trap.

Fun place to stay smack in the middel of the temple bar area. The pub itself is great aswell with live music every night. I had a great time staying here. If you are visiting Dublin, this is the place to be. The pub can be a bit crowded at night though.

Awesome pub in the heart of the Temple Bar area that had live music in the early afternoon. The bartender was very friendly and attentive and made an awesome Irish coffee. Great atmosphere and worth a visit!

Great place and atmosphere. Live Irish music is being played daily and staff are very friendly and professional in their service. Food is great as well. Remember to try the baby Guinness while there. It is the small shooter glass in the photo. And do not to forget the Irish coffee as well .

While visiting Ireland we really wanted some Irish music and fare so we went here. The food was good but not fantastic. It was a tourist destination around the holidays so you can image that it was pretty touristy. That said, it was fun and the wait staff were very friendly. The music was on multiple levels and pretty good. Everything was decked out for the holidays so it was a very nice! They had a good selection of local beers and the cheese plate was very good. There were multiple levels all with music. If youre there for a touristy experience, this is a place to visit.

5 Stars! We had the fish cowder and the irish steew, both were amazing! Rich of flavours and fish/lamb. Further, the dark bread is a welcome change to all the toasts. We had both before in other restaurants nearby which were ok. Also the live music in the evening is great. We do recommend to come in!

Ordered a meal which was great (17€ pp) yet was charged 27€ for a pint Of Heineken & a bourbon & coke. Not sure if that’s the going price for drinks in temple bar & if so, then it’s a rip off . The next day we purchased the same beer & size at Wynns hotel & was only charged 6€. If you decide to go- buy the food & drink elsewhere

Everything you hope for in a Dublin pub, we spent lots of time here on our recent December trip and everytime there was live music, there were lots of traditional pub sing along songs duos with guitar and fiddle, banjo, mandelin... There was always good interaction and banter. It was busy, but there was always somewhere to perch and enjoy.. The staff are really on it - attentive and friendly.. and for such a busy place we were really pleased to find that the food was FANTASTIC.. Recommend that you make it one of your stops along the Temple Bar.

The place gets crowded very fast but the live music and the beer makes it worth it! Is not a quiet place to go and have chat but you can find other places to do that. Many drunks inside of course but the staff is VERY quick to get them out before trouble starts which is greatly appreciated! Is not the cheapest beer in town but I would still recommend it to have fun :)

Can't recommend this place highly enough! The staff were amazing, the venue is stuffed with old school charm, and the musicians that played were fantastic in just about every respect. GO HERE

I know “The Temple Bar” is the place advertised to go.. but this bar is the most UNDERRATED PUB ever. The night life performer is such a vibe!! Engages the crowd, had great sarcasm and plays great music!! We met so many new friends and came here twice while in Dublin. I would recommend this pub as a 10/10!!! Canada loves this pub!!

Fantastic atmosphere. Fantastic service. Great Irish singer singing all the Irish classics and a great joke teller Made a fantastic couple of hours. Just very expensive. A moretti and a coke £13 euros.

Great atmosphere in all fairness, place is full of tourists. Mad prices pint of Heineken 10 euro and Guinness 9 euro, but I guess noone gives a damn while on holiday, they can charge whatever they want. Literally licence to print money they have. Worth of visit for few drinks while in town

I would prefer this place over any other any day. Mainly because of the performers and the vibe of this place. Just like other bars the drinks are expensive but the musicians/singers totally make up for that. Totally worth it

Better Alternative To Temple Bar. A great spot to hear authentic Irish music on their 2nd floor. While it is in the Temple area which is known for tourist prices on drinks and food, the music was worth it.

At 8.90 for a pint, I knew Id have one and end up leaving. The place was absolutely packed, with young drunk lads bumping into us constantly. The music was great, staff are nice but service is a little slower because they've so many patrons to get through.

Best pub in Dublin, I had a lovely night there with live music, drinks and food. Couldn't recommend this enough.

Ordered a burger, and they brought out a burger that had a bite out of it. I told the staff and had the worst attitude possible regarding my complaint. They have obviously gave me someone else's burger that got returned. had discusting attitude and made out that I was lieing. There was no reason for me to lie it was just served and sent back. Would never trust to go to this place probably get food poisoning from it. Please Beware people check your food if you want to eat at this place.

Nice environment with live music. Service is terrible. They give me a dirty table. A couple came after me and they got their food before me. Delayed of over 30 mins and served the next table. Overpriced.

My favourite pub in Dublin. Live music was brilliant. Looking forward coming back!

The food was good here but very very very overpriced. €8 for a bottle of non alcoholic beer is just absurd and should be illegal.

Original Irish bar in the heart of Temple district. Features live music, indoor and outdoor seating and food and drink service. Happened to come when a duo was performing. They played all forms of modern and classic Irish songs and other as well as entertain the patrons in between. Really made the place fantastic.

Solo travelers stay here!!! Middle of the action. Safe. Get a 4 bed dorm. 10 bed was loud all night. Restaurant downstairs is fantastic!! I'll be staying again for sure!

Great value for the price! I stayed at the hostel in September of last year. The room felt more like a closet. The facilities were pretty clean. You can't beat the location. Complementary breakfast was as expected. I would stay here again in the future!

Me and my friend went to Dublin on a weekend getaway exclusively for the night life and live music and this place did not disappoint. We enjoyed it so much that we went there 3 days in a row. The live music was brilliant and The atmosphere was amazing! A mixed crowd of stags, hens, couples and groups of all ages. A nice touch was the 'freshen up' lady in the ladies toilets doing a spot of face painting which was incredibly popular. I would definitely recommend you visit this place

Well what can I say but to start with an awesome Ieish welcome here, the Guinness speaks for itself but the guitarist and the violinist were absolutely breathtaking, a real good crack here and just the tip of the iceberg as to what temple bar and Dublin has to offer. Will definitely be returning here in the future, thanks staff and guests for a memorable evening. 👍😉

Nice bar to have a drink, live music and less crowded than other more famous bars. I had a great afternoon there.

We came in late at night, around 2 am, and there was no problem checking in. We slept in a 10-person room, it was as in photos, clean and overall nice. There was a bathroom inside, which was also a plus. It's in the very centre of the city, so that's also very convenient. The breakfast is okay, pretty standard - toasts, jam packets, ham, cheese, hot and cold drinks and cereal with cold milk.

What a good place for a visit, good food, excellent beers and wonderful live music, if you've never been, you should, it is one of life's great experiences

The place is old. The rooms don't have enough light, not a lot of fresh air and the bathroom is really old. Overall is a good value for money because it is in the middle of everything. But don't expect sth crazy. Not even sth clean. The breakfast is a good continental breakfast. I highly recommend it is for a sleep but if it is more that just sleeping pay a little bit more

Great location and breakfast was good too. Complementary soup, tea, coffee and sometimes bread throughout the day. Space is limited and sockets are in short supply throughout this establishment. 1 bathroom to a room of 10 in my own case means people sometimes have to queue to use the facility. So much more to say but then this is Dublin, exploitation is the game, you win some you lose some. This is a win for me at €12/night, it's the cheapest I've stayed and I've stayed at a few hotels in Dublin.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, live music, very nice staff. All the time when I am in Dublin, I can not miss this pub. It was my 5th visit. Still same experience. See you again👍.

Live Irish tunes and one of the best seafood chowders. They do not skimp on the seafood, creamy and full of dill.

What a cozy experience! I went two times to have lunch during my stay in Dublin. The musicians were amazing, how different they were but how virtuous they were. They cheers the pub and the lunch, lovely. The waiters were friendly so I appreciated so much! But we have to talk about the food.... The vegetarian lasagna was cheesy, the Fries potatoes GOD! So crunchy outside and tender inside. The mussels with the sauce I could eat the all day and all night during a year! But what about the fish and chips, made with tempura! I've never tasted it before and it's a great idea because it's crunchy outside and fresh inside. So, thanks for everything, I'll come for sure

What a great pub! I've been there in a business trip. The pub is quite big and it had great atmosphere. I was there at late lunch and there was not problem to have food served at this time. There was a band playing music so it made my visit even more special. Food was really good. Well presented and big portions. I order the soup of the day that was soup with salmon, mussels and vegetables and it was amazing. Then I ordered Traditional Irish Stew... Superb! Really tasty and craY big size.

What a fantastic pub! They have live Irish music which goes on till late in the night. The crowd was great and the service is quick too. There are smoking areas within the pub. It’s very centrally located as well. They also have loads of options for food and drinks.

what an amazing pub, in the middle of the temple bar area, Close to where all the fuss happens! another very large pub, very typical, with live music (I posted a video here, it's really cool!) great atmosphere and the crowd was really happy and Dancing (you will see on video) fast service staff, friendly and attentive (special thanks to Barry, awesome guy!) Well...you really need to know this place!

Ambiance was great with nice live music. Food was really great. Unfortunately, service was poor. Wrong beer, wrong dish. Waitress was trying to not change the mistake and even pretended service is not included to get a tip.
