Latest treatment of members an absolute disgrace. Facilities are like a building site currently and early promises of minimal disruption from October turns out to be a complete fallacy with most facilities now not available out to April. Despite all this they continue to charge full membership with a few token gestures. While we were patient initially with the disruption the continued delays and awful communication has pushed our patience to the limit. To top it all off they’ve the cheek to insist of honouring our 3 month notice period despite the family changing rooms, pool, sauna, steam room, cafe and more not being available. What’s most disappointing is I actually used to rave about this club.

Absolute mess, used to love this place and now they have tested my patience. Gym has been like a bomb site so haven't been able to bring kids. No pool... The kids area is now the general restaurant... Tried to freeze membership during refurb but they wouldn't do it, no communication and the refurb has taken forever and then they had the cheek to increase membership.. paying almost 500 euro a month for something I haven't stepped foot into for over 3 months due to their chaos...... In response to the below why would it take more than 8 days to respond to an email. I just want to leave and stop paying almost 500 euro a month for something that is literally a bomb site....

Since joining our membership has been increased twice without sufficient notice. They have the cheek to blame it on inflation when in fact the increase is higher than inflation. Half of the facilities are still shut and you can never get a class, and they thought it’d be a good time to increase fees again. I do not recommend this club unless you’re ok with them hiking your membership fees whenever they want. UPDATE: Since cancelling our membership in december i am still receiving countless emails to pay an ‘outstanding membership fees’. The place is a joke.

Absolute joke of a place. Advertised a brand new refurbishment, closed the pool, steam room etc. for several months, offered no discount in price, even though you are essentially paying for a mediocre leisure centre gym and an overpriced fast food restaurant. Now that they are reopening facilities, they have decided to move the sauna and steam room to the spa area, which will cost considerably more to use, while keeping the base cost of a membership the same. It was clever to not let this fact slip until the work was done, forcing you to wait and pay for at least 3 months after your cancellation notice is handed in. I hope you lot won’t miss the towels I’ve been collecting over the past little while, they’ll probably make up for being blatantly scammed 😸

Avoid. There's way better gyms out there especially for the cost. Joined this gym after having baby as they have a crèche from 3 months. Pros: - crèche staff are amazing - Emma (PT) is so knowledgeable and great trainer Cons: -very expensive for what you get, services regularly not available (200+ / month) - classes and crèche regularly booked out -difficult to get program or shown how to use equipment if postnatal -app and customer service are poor (eg you have to have a UK postcode to submit a query via Irish app/ bo response for 6 weeks) - unnecessary difficult to quit

Great facilities but that’s about it. Most poorly run gym I’ve ever been to. They have a ridiculous turnover of miserable new staff every single week. The receptionists are so unprofessional and make you feel uncomfortable walking in. Food cooked is very bad and has been this way for years. Very expensive membership and they don’t care about their members. Do not join

Whilst the facilities are great, the club is over subscribed and it is impossible to book any peak time / popular classes even up to a week in advance. If attending classes is important to you, I would not join the club as availability is very limited or in most cases impossible even when selecting premium membership options.

Quite happy until our daughter got an infection after using the swimming pool. Ended up in the hospital for 4 days. Informed their staff and they just ignored it. Would not recommend this gym. While renewing the gym it was a mess and less facilties and no discount was offered for a poor service.

A scam. We joined the club last september, we were told about the sauna, the jacuzzi, the swimming pool and new spa supposed to operate in December. After one month, we discover they would stop almost all the services and we'll be left with only the tennis court (and external swimming pool) despite the super high fees we are paying. You can barely book a tennis court as they are almost always booked, you have to play at 9PM or on saturday or sunday after 6PM. Not to mention that most of the time the courts are supposed to be booked but when you show off, they are actually not used. Commercial behavior of this club is pathetic. Had to send many e mails to get 4 guest pass as a compensation for the abusive fee we've been charged. If I had knew, I would never have registered my family.

Have been members for so many years and used to be a really good place for leisure and workout. The service is getting much worse since the pandemic (Staff shortages, General manager changed three times, etc.) Hope its service will be back to normal soon, otherwise will consider alternatives.

Staff doing their very best in a difficult setting. Understaffed membership service operating remotely. A wait time of weeks for a response. Very poor management … who are unwilling to engage. In my experience, the UK management has operated this club over the last year or so in a way which has resulted in numerous disgruntled members and badly impacted the atmosphere within the club.

It is almost impossible to get booked in a class. The club looks a mess and they have just put up the fees . Thinking of leaving, you would be mad to join this club.

I joined and the sales rep gave me a details walk through of the facilities. They were being renovated still and advised they would be completed by the start of April. These weren't actually completed until the end of May with no notice to members or updates as the delays happened. The sales rep was very friendly and explained there's a 12 month contract but any change in circumstances can be cancelled no issues that they are hoping to keep long term members. This was definitely not the case when I tried to cancel within the 12 month period, I've been asked for evidence of contracts and proof of address and even though a cancellation request was sent before the start of the next month they insist on charging until after all the various documents scrutinising the reason for leaving have been received. They have even threatened to send outstanding payments to collections agencies. Considering the price of this facility, this a ridiculous way to treat members.

Was a member at DL 3 years ago due to work left. We had family membership over 300 a month. Went back in on Saturday with my mother who suggested we go in for coffee. First thing I was told waiting list til November !!! advisor came out with attitude -- was 112 corporate euro 3 years ago each now 170 each per month -- handed a cheap leaflet -- told again booked out until November -- not even offered a coffee!!! boom times lead to arrogance !!!! not impressed...

I’ve been a member for a number of years. The tennis courts were the primary draw. There’s been a refurbishment. Incredibly poorly managed and communicated. Lost a court in that refurbishment, months of missed swimming, never ending vague emails promising how exciting it was all going to be. The recent feedback on one of the wonderful new perks is the new changing rooms in the words of another longtime member was “designed for midgets” because you cannot physically sit in the chair and see your full face in the mirror only forehead 😂. Emails sent changing terms and conditions overnight. Freezes on fully paid memberships over poor communication. The UK management team are doing an exceptionally poor job of keeping longtime members satisfied that their money and patience continues to be spent in a worthwhile manner in this club. @DavidLloyd feel free to be confused as to whether I’m a member or not and urge me to reach out with my membership number despite no response to my numerous email complaints over the past year. Suffice it to say, not holding my breath. Added since response: I’d be delighted to speak with David Lloyd and confirm once again that there are no other things wrong or outstanding with my membership as I have paid everything in full. However, the systems in place mean that no one is available in real-time to realise and correct these systems. Might be an idea to rethink some of the management choices that have left these services currently understaffed and remote. I wonder if “due to the high volume” if “response times might be slower than normal”?

In total have been a member at David Lloyd for over 5 years. Left a year ago due to unfriendly staff and very poor environment. Gave it a re-trial for fourteen days given the new refurbishments and sadly the culture was the same. Rude staff and poor environment that completely undoes what is a very good facility. Wouldn’t pay half what they are asking to stay on sadly.

Mixed experience here since becoming a member four months ago Pros: - huge selection of equipment, even at peak times rarely have to wait. This includes cardio, free weights, combo machines etc. - access to Aqua, racquet sports and almost all classes included in membership. - classes range from yoga and pilates to more intense high impact options. - staff are professional, helpful and friendly. Whether at reception, instructors, or in the club room I have yet to meet a staff member that wasn't an absolute gem. - personal training available (highly recommend Paul) Cons: - VERY difficult to find available spots in any class. My experience has been that I have to wait until bookings are available for that date (two weeks out) and immediately book or sign up for alerts on openings and pray. - securing any receipts/invoices is a manual process that can take multiple attempts before receiving a response. - Pushing €200 per adult per month when so many items are consistently unavailable is a stretch. - No pedestrian areas to cross the parking lot, can be a bit sketchy given the volume and speed of traffic. - Charging for feminine hygiene products? Really? In summary, everything at the club that you can utilise is fantastic, it's the feasibility of using those services that diminishes the value.

I’ve got a 14 day trial, and so far my experience is very frustrating. No information is transparent, management is segmented. Sales team vs reception vs instructors. No one knows about no ones business and send you out to talk to someone else. Sauna is not the part of the trial, even though it is advertised to be such. No one is smiling at the gym, and it feels to me I have entered someone’s private house, and I was not even invited there

Tried to sign up, just wanted to know the price. They couldn't have tried harder to not tell me how much I'd pay. Refused to write it down, refused to tell me over the phone. Went in person and was verbally told of various discounts and waived offers, still not told what I'd pay. Sounds dodgy as hell, gone elsewhere.

Great facilities but really overpriced. Much better value at UCD or Westwood. The reason for the poor review is several incidents of rude staff and poor customer service.

The facilities are great, they are a lot of options and activities to choose from. However, many activities require an additional price which isn't great considering the price of the membership is rather high already. On top of that, the place is quite dirty, especially in the DL Kids club or changing rooms. Most of the staff is lovely but few people are rather condescending and rude at times. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends

All I can say is - what a place !! The support Diane, Janice, Lynette, Mark, Alan & all the David Lloyd management team have show us this year has been incredible. Ciara & I took on the Tennis 🎾 🧢 Captaincy for 2023 and the Irish team have been so helpful with us and our year of social events, charity fundraisers and of course Tennis ! Paul Keoghan has been an integral part of us developing the tennis community again in David Lloyd. We greatly appreciate the effort by all. Many thanks, Alan Rafferty & Ciara Turner (Men & Ladies Captains 2023).

The gym deserves 5 stars however I have given one less because it would be great to have a room to do work from and take business calls. It's way to noisy in the cafe area as kids are running up and down. There is an adult room but you can't do zoom meetings etc.

The contract expired and had to be renewed for another 3 months and the monthly deduction was mandatory. The receptionist's attitude is getting worse and worse, bullying me for not speaking good English so they keep excusing themselves and not giving me a solution to the actual problem, saying when they come that they will solve it when they leave, and then saying when they leave that they will solve it next time they come, never giving me a solution. It really sucks!
