OMG, the sarnies here are great! We had an egg, and a ham. Really big and filling, tasty too. Service was great. The style of coffee is what I would call Mediterranean style, so best with some milk. I really wish I had ordered a cinnamon bun now, they smelled amazing but I think I was too full from the sandwich and coffee. Great atmosphere too. Nice place to watch the world go by. Sorry my photos are just not making it look so grand.

It is always such a joy to come in. Staff is beyond friendly, and the energy of this place is amazing. I enjoy coming in and getting some work done, a great atmosphere. Their cinnamon rolls are the best of the best, and the coffee is just delightful!

Such a good spot for a quick bite! We were in a time crunch and came to get a sandwich to go, and it was so much better than I expected. The bread was so fluffy with a nice crunchy crust and the chicken salad was delicious and fresh. Wish I had a chance to try the pastries. They smelled amazing.

I have been coming here for probably thirty years or more. It is a precious reminder of an older Dublin, the one I grew up in and feel a nostalgia for. It's a true gem in the heart of the city. The food is great, -honest and wholesome and immune from the fickle winds of foodie trends. Hope it never changes!

The coffee was spot on. Can’t fault it. The food looked great but didn’t have any. There is a variety of seating option, sone outdoors, sone inside the shopping arcade next door and sone indoor. There are big tables too for larger groups. Highly recommend this place.

We had a good coffee here and ate very delicious, warm cinnamon rolls. The tables at the George’s Street Arcade are very good to watch people as you sit right next to the shops. Prices were in Dublin average and the staff was friendly.

This is my favourite place in Dublin. It hasn’t changed ONE BIT in the last 30 years, I’ve been going since I was a kid and why would you ever change something so perfect! Best cinnamon buns I’ve ever had in the whole world! And perfect delicious fresh sandwiches! The staff are always delightful! Thanks for being something so lovely and constant in this ever changing world! 😄♥️

If you are Brazilian in Dublin and love rabanadas, definitely Simons Place is the best one! “cinnamon buns” are very similar and you can have a nice coffee as well!

I don't get to Dublin too often these days but as far as I'm concerned, Simon's Place is one of the last proper coffee shops in the city centre. You'll get fed there with great sandwiches for a decent price. And great down-to-earth atmosphere.

Top spot in Dublin city centre! Kept hearing about the cinnamon buns here & finally had a chance to try one -- the reputation for greatness is well-deserved! Delicious, not too sweet. I also had the vegetable soup which was lovely & nutritious. Everything else especially the sandwiches looked great too so I'm sure I'll make many repeat visits. It's a small café with pretty basic seating but very clean, staff is friendly, food excellent

I really love this place and it’s one of my favorites in the area. The coffee, food, and ambiance are all great. My one and only criticism is the hours. It really has the vibe of being a late night coffee house, and it honestly is a little jarring when they start mopping up at 4:45pm. I wish they were open later, I’d love to spend more time there!

Simple but great. Breezy atmosphere in a cool location. And...those cinnamon swirls...

Great Bohemian gathering spot for coffee drinkers. Relaxed atmosphere and a casual feel to this spot. We'll worth a visit! Be aware that Simon"s place closes at 5 pm daily and is not opened on Sundays.

As usual lovely coffee. My wife and I sat outside in the market alleyway under the outside heaters. Great watching the world go by enjoying a hot drink. The staff including Martin are very nice. Always ready for a chat!

Always loved this spot. Don't live in Dublin anymore but always try make a trip when I'm here. Hasn't changed over the past 20 years. Still the best cinnamon buns!

Good brunch spot in the George's Street Arcade, a Victorian red bricked indoor market. Our first time here - on a Saturday morning - looks like it is popular with a regular clientele. Decent coffee.

Perfect little cafe. It’s very rustic and basic but clean. The coffee and cinnamon swirl were really great quality - all at a very good price point. Would definitely come back

They do a simple selection of very healthy food really well, great atmosphere, it's what you imagine a real coffee shop to be.

Excellent coffee, excellent cakes and as always excellent service. Simple and tasty. You don't need to go to a 5* places to enjoy your little pleasures 😉🎉🎂

This restaurant is a great place to stop and unwind. It's my favourite on George's street if I want a nourishing bite to eat. They do amazing sandwiches on artisan bread, and a great bowl of soup. You can have a quiche & salad etc. They do gorgeous cakes as well, and the coffee is good. Locals and tourists alike love the eclective, laid back vibe. It's always busy, but with a friendly comradarie among patrons. Downstairs is quieter, you can go on your laptop or read a book and their is no pressure to leave. Locals are amenable to a chat and a stimulating conversation, if you get the right characters on the day !

Egg salad sambo is literally the best - I dream about it. Scored five *I repeat* five homemade cinnamon buns late afternoon an unheard of godshot. 🙌

  • 4/5 Peter P. 4 years ago on Google
Staff is very friendly. Environment ist cosy and probably a good place to just hang back and do some studying. They have a variety of food options, including vegan! The prices are pretty high if I compare the quality of food. Just warmed up in microwave from yesterday...

  • 5/5 Patrick O. 1 year ago on Google
Simple, well done food. No frills but a natural atmosphere created by the central location and relaxed ands organised staff. Chicken sandwich with great fresh brown bread, quality chicken and fresh tomato cucumber and lettuce with a light mayo. And a hearty veg soup. Good value for quality and location. Can't go wrong.

  • 5/5 Yvonne B. 9 months ago on Google
Sandwiches were delicious. Very big, myself and my husband ordered 2 with lovely tomatoe soup, we could only eat one and took the other one home. Staff are super friendly. Very pleasant experience . Would highly recommend.

We came here every morning with my friend during our journey in Dublin to have our breakfast. It's a really warm and cosy place with good coffee and pastries. The staff is really kind.

  • 5/5 Diana N. 5 months ago on Google
We had a brunch here, a tuna & a chicken sandwich. The taste was good, they were freshly made. The coffee was so cute in a transparent glass. The juice, though, isn't bottled. Also, pay attention when you get your card ready. There is a contacless machine on the counter for tips only, I paid twice without realising it 😅

Quite a small café (I didn't see the part downstairs), cozy atmosphere. The service was quick. I had an amazing avocado sandwich here, for which I paid 6,80 euro's. It was quite a big sandwich, nothing was lacking. Relatively cheap too, as other places had sandwiches from 12+ euro's. Somehow the sandwhich hit different, as it had mayo, lettuce and tomato on it too. I really enjoyed the sandwich! Even though I am not always a big fan of avocado, I was craving some vegetables and the sandwhich hit a sweet spot.

Simon's Place has been Dublin's best cafe for a long time. If you smell cinnamon, ask when the rolls will be out of the oven, you won't regret it. Recommendations: Cinnamon Rolls Chicken Sandwich (a true classic)

  • 5/5 Pearse R. 4 months ago on Google
A long time favourite. The cinnamon buns to go, as the family love them. For me, an espresso. Upstairs for chat & people watching. Downstairs for chat or hiding.

  • 5/5 Tony C. 11 months ago on Google
The best cinnamon buns in Dublin. Possibly the world? The sandwiches are huge and delicious too (but don’t expect pretentious fillings), the coffee is fabulous, and the staff an absolute joy. You’ll probably have to queue, but not for long. The best value café in central Dublin.

  • 5/5 Linda N. 1 year ago on Google
I've been coming here for years. I love that what I like is always there....the best egg sambo! A cinnamon bun is the big treat but usually not digestible after an egg sandwich but sure get one anyway. Love the vibe, the people and Simon.

  • 5/5 Fergus M. 1 year ago on Google
Best sandwiches in Dublin. I’ve never tasted a carrot cake anywhere else near as fresh or good. Staff super friendly and part of appeal of eating in is watching 7 foot tall man at end of counter with marigolds cleaning dishes.

The best cafe in Dublin, it's barely changed in 20 years and I hope it stays that way forever!

  • 3/5 Zou Z. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing cinnamon rolls (when you get one) but excessively pricey soup… 4,80 for a tiny teeny bowl of soup, that needs to be reviewed. Or at least offer a deal with a sandwich.

  • 4/5 Elisabetta Di R. 1 year ago on Google
This place might deliver sandwiches left over, towards closing time. If so, consider to gather a few to do a homeless round around town. Well worth it!!

Wow, what a gem! Went here today With My Wife, lovely old school Cafe! The staff were lovely and people from all walks of life here with a brilliant atmosphere! We had carrot cake and Americanos the cake was perfect moist and tasted great and the Baristas know how coffee is made with a nice big coffee! The price was shockingly cheap! Will be back again very soon! My new favourite Cafe in Dublin

  • 5/5 Anne B. 1 year ago on Google
Delicious hearty food very reasonably priced served in a lovely cosy bohemian atmosphere. Their carrot cake is the best I've ever eaten. I only gave four stars due to the absence of their potato salad which is also the best I ever had. An iconic Dublin eatery.

Such a cosy cafe with friendly staff, lovely decor and a great atmosphere. We had a hot chocolate and slice of carrot cake which was absolutely delicious. Would have liked to have lunch, next time!

Love the simplicity of this place. A decent cup of tea, egg and salad sandwich, surrounded by old music posters. Often you’ll end up sharing a table which adds to the local feel.

  • 3/5 Jerry M. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent location with some of the seating located at windows looking out onto the street on one side and into the George's Street Arcade on another. The interior is rustic and makes for a really nice ambience. The food also looks very appetising. However, the service is often curt, and an americano on my last visit was a single shot. They were fine about redoing it for me, but is a two shot not standard? It certainly is in my local coffee shops.

Quaint café, suitable for a quick bite. We went here for lunch. The girls at the counter were nice and quick and made the queue flow fast. We ate a sandwich. It was tasty! We then had an espresso and a cappuccino. Espresso was just OK, instead cappuccino was very good.
