Would've never thought to come across such arrogance and attitude from retail staff but leave it to Clement & Pekoe to deliver such a horrifying post-Covid experience capable of turning away formerly 5 year loyal customers within 1 minute of entering, determined to never step foot in it ever again! We walked in freely, greeted by nothing at the door - not a person, sign, or other visual or auditory cue - to direct us to wait. Confused we walked in, calmly sat down at the center bench and started wondering what coffees or teas to order. Out of nowhere, and out of breath, came one of their servers displaying no courtesy whatsoever, just harsh words to tells us to step away and back at the front door so they can check our Covid certs. My friend reassured him that it's no issue and asked if we could keep the table (as C&P is known to get very busy) and suddenly I feel the server's heavy hand pull on my shoulder as if I had to be ripped away from my seat. I let it slide giving the server the benefit of the doubt and as a group we move toward the till. There we witness again the complete and utter disregard for any sense of order whatsoever. The three of us are rudely told to wait in a corner as we open our emails with out vaccine certs as new guests enter. Some are welcomed, others make our same mistake and are yelled at from behind the counter to not go inside. One of the baristas sees our discomfort and tries to cater to us, but even he was so overwhelmed that he contradicted the order in which we should have paid, ordered, showed our certs, drank coffee and sat down a number of times. My girlfriend asks for some direly needed clarity and suddenly she is being talked down to like an intruding child. I look on in shock and complain of the utter lack of respect in the way she was being addressed. The guy then yelled "THERE IS A SIGN". The sign was with him, behind the counter, next to another barista, barely visible and plainly illegible. CLEARLY that is not where signs intended to alert customers to public order and safety should be displayed. Then, another waiter came in from the hall, in an unrelated rush (probably just fresh with a customer's order) and without any context of our entire experience, with the most disgustingly condescending tone I've ever heard and a raised voice, contributed an unsolicited: "THERE IS A QUEUE YOU KNOW". I politely drew both their attentions to the fact that we were instructed to be where we were and that I had never seen such incompetence and rudeness and collectively we left. Today's failings were entirely and grossly on Clement & Pekoe, an overrated and irrelevant corner with mediocre coffee we will no longer be patrons of. I'd advise anybody to pass on this establishment and visit These Hands Coffee, just next to The Well in St Stephens Green.

I usually love it here so much, I get coffee here on my break from work all the time. I only had an hour for my lunch break today and I was on my laptop typing away in the corner minding my own business, I had just finished a flat white and a cake that were both really nice. One of the employees who was an American lady came over and asked me did I want another drink. I told her no and she told me I would have to order one to stay to give back the table. She told me it was a one drink per hour rule and was really rude about it. I told her I wouldn't be much longer as Im literally in my work uniform enjoying my break and she really rudely told me other people need the table. There were so many free spaces around as it was almost 4 o clock. I even took a picture ! She told me even though there were other free seats I still had to order something to say. Absolutely 0 need for the rudeness, I'm a loyal customer and I usually love it there and I don't understand how that is a rule. I was on my lunch break at nearly 4 pm on a Thursday. Still really nice coffee and cakes but customer service isn't great and the staff don't seem happy

Its pretty hard to find a quiet spot in town to study in Dublin, but stumbled upon this place just as it was opening for the day and got a bite to eat with a latte. After paying for my food, opened my laptop to then be told they have a "No laptop policy on weekends" after asking why i was told it ruins the "ambience"?. Didnt know i was having a coffee at Hogwarts. A lad came over and gave me a grace period of 10 minutes before I had to close my laptop. Very nice of him to let me ruin the "ambience" for a couple moments longer (Hopefully the business recovers from this).

We got there expecting to have a sit, but it was only after we ordered that we've been told to sit outside because they were closing. We also included four different pastries that were supposed to be chocolate-something according to the labels at least. Finally we got our coffees, a pair of barely decent lattes with really nice hearts that could be fine if we hadn't ordered capuchinos instead. The pastries... What could I say? Far from what we expected by the look and labels in the counter, they were mostly oat with butter covered with a thin layer of chocolate. Our deception was such that we got speechless, wondering how would this place could have this high rate. It seems like a really nice place. Was our experience was just an unhappy coincidence? I rather keep the doubt than coming back.

Best thing is location and decor. Coffee is good. Only thing about this place is that the staff always seem a bit miserable. Many are college age and seem to take themselves very seriously. Never seen anyone working there smile or seem like they wanna be there at all. Most people probably won’t care about that fact but for me it creates a weird and unwelcoming atmosphere.

The management at this coffee shop needs to be evaluated immediately—their treatment of the staff is appalling. This past Saturday morning, a couple of us were waiting outside for it to open in the early morning. At a little before 9, one of the baristas opened the shop for us to get in. Just because this barista opened the shop a couple minutes early, this man emerged from the office and proceeded to scream at this young barista in front of us, using absolutely unacceptable language and purely emotionally abusing them. The barista was visibly distressed and it was absolutely horrible to witness. I immediately left and am definitely not coming back for this reason. I hope this man is removed from that coffee shop and no staff member should ever be treated like that in any position.

The place is unfortunately crawling with lads decked out in the latest ASOS hipster attire and flaunting their mustaches. Lovely coffee though

Fine drinks, good looking pastries (none vegan when I went though). However I came to find a place with wifi to do some work, which isn’t allowed here. I understand why - it takes up table space to have people sit for a few hours - but I wish that had been posted on the door so I could have saved my money and gone elsewhere.

I asked for an espresso, they suggested that I should have a double, but i did not wanted to be dizzy after the coffee. As soon as I tasted the coffee I deeply regret my decision. I don't want to extravagate here, but it was maybe the best coffee i ever had.

The service here is noticeably better than any other independent coffee unit based in Dublin (using independent here as Coffee Angel has top tier service as well). The staff are very kind and considerate when it comes to bringing orders over, even when you sit outside and order something elaborate. Chill place and all staff are kind and really seem to know their stuff.

This place is a joy. The staff are unfailingly lovely, the coffee is top class and reasonably priced compared to many other places in Dublin and the vibe here is fantastic. The negative comments are unfair and insulting. Some people have a gripe over their laptops at the weekend. Get over it! I don’t want them quite literally taking up space at the weekend!

The best of Single Origin coffees whilst watching the world go by in the hang out area of South William Street. Only cafe in Dublin with steps to lounge and chat a Saturday morning away on. Treated myself to their cappuccino made with a rich nutty Ethiopian coffee for €3.50. Would love to keep this understated oasis to myself yet the food tour guide in me wins out. Hang out here like a Dubliner in the know.

Simply one of the best coffee shops in Dublin. I would highly recommend as coffee is delicious. If you sit in there is a nice vibrant atmosphere as do quick meet ups in here all the time.

Came here for a take away coffee that was nice, lovely place, lovely staff memembers. Unfortunately, I am a bit a tea nerdy... and despite the large variety of tea sold in the shop, I didn't feel them being at the standard of C&P reputation. Very poor quality teas; I choose a Lapsang Souchong and it should be smoky in flavor, it is expected, but after brewing it the only thing I could taste was a smoky flavor of chicken wings, too strong and not natural (not the first time I brew this quality) I am keen to believe that they added extra artifical flavouring to it. Same for Puher tea, not very tasty, not very hearthy as it should be, light and fishy, this denotes poor quality, and the Earl Gray equally not very good. Their selection is large, the staff is nice, the place really looks comfy, I was just hoping to find a better tea quality. Anyway, lovely place to go for a coffee!

Had an iced coffee with unflavored syrup, and it was great. There's a lot of seating available and it's mostly busy due to its location, but I was there at an odd hour, so it was pretty much empty. They have a good selection of tea, coffee and coffee machines inside that you can buy (tea/coffee based on weight).

A really nice relaxing coffee shop in the city. And they do have an amazing good quality of coffee and good tea also, if you prefer filter, they always have two filters on the board everyday. Like the vibe like the staff, clement and pekoe is amazing!

Nice small selection of pastries, from protein/energy balls to a peanut butter brownie. The coffee drip options are limited to 3 but they are prepared carefully so ++

Best tea shop in all the land. I happened upon this place my first visit to Dublin and make a point to come back every time. I even brought my mom, a verified tea fanatic, and she was not disappointed. Their tea is just fabulous and the woman who works behind the tea counter is super knowledgeable and helpful and just really great. I live back in the US now and have even footed the painful shipping bill just to get my favorite tea blends. Highly recommend the Corramore Assam, ginger spice herbal, and the Christmas blend, but you really can't go wrong!

Really good and flavorful coffee, relaxed atmosphere and tasty pastries. Also location is great as it's one step aside from the busiest shopping streets but still right next to them. One of my new favourite spots for a cup of coffee in Dublin. I warmly recommend to try.

The coffee was good BUT that means nothing if the staff treats customers as if they are doing you a favour instead of serving you. Not a single person acknowledges you, says hi or gives or responds to proper courtesy. I appreciate working retail is annoying and no one dreams with working those jobs but please train your staff on how to treat customers properly and remind them they are there and have jobs because of paying customers. Maybe then they will stop acting like constipated emos.

Think I've just tasted the nicest coffee I've drank in years. Had a double macchiato & just didn't want it to end. Immediately bought a bag of the beans been used for this brew by . Pity I can't say the same for the cakes tho which were nothing to write home about but didn't spoil the experience as I was there for their coffee really.

Great ambiance, they've tastefully converted an old space into tea/coffee shop. High ceiling and plenty of space to sit with friends. I love coming here.

Staff member with a bald head was horribly rude, to the point I won't bother going back. Waited about 5mins for coffee my to come to my seat (not the norm in any of my local cafes in Blackrock) went to the till to enquire, nobody acknowledged me standing there so had to ask, saw a cup that looked like a flat white, politely interrupted and asked was that a flat white, he snapped back "no, it'll be brought down". Coffee came and was awful. Cheers, good luck with the business.

Super nice coffee spot. Offers all your espresso based drinks with milk alternatives. Matcha tea, chai latte, a lot of loose tea leaf options, filter coffee like V60 , French press, aeropress, Chemex as well as batch brew. Also offer decaf. Generous seating area with a bright nice vibe. Friendly staff. Welcoming for all.

Disappointing coffee. Went for an americano and it was nearly tasteless. It would be nice if the staff didn't slam the doors of the cupboards or if something was put in such that it didn't make a massive bang every time they're closed as this somewhat interrupts the ambience. On the positive side, I sat at the front window and the view was nice for people watching and the music was good! The cafe itself is also very pretty and it seems all the staff get along well with one another which is nice to see.

So glad I randomly walked by C&P while I was in Dublin. Cute little tea room with a great communal seating area in the back and a huge tea selection. I ended up ordering a few bags of different breakfast teas online when I got home to California and it was delivered in about 10 days. Thanks for offering international shipping! Every cup will remind me of my amazing time in Ireland.

I like the coffee; the fluffiness of flat white. The almond latte pastry I had - fabulous. The interior in and out; encourages to stay for this solid cup of coffee

Got a cappuccino and almond croissant on a Sunday evening 3:45pm, glad this cafe was open as others close by this time. Was told there is no matcha, had to get Cappuccino which was very small and too light I almost didn’t taste any coffee which was pretty disappointing. Staff was ok, took my order didn’t wait to ask if I needed something else.. almost immediately :/ before I could order I was showed the card machine, I didn’t appreciate that. Coffee shop was pretty empty. Croissant was very good considering it was end of day. Paid 6.50e for the two which is pretty standard

I've loved this coffee shop for years but I recently bought a flapjack which had peanuts in it and was not labelled as having them. Peanuts are an easy one to label for given how common and severe this allergy can be, and given you wouldn't think that a flapjack might contain them. I think it's in their interest to label for this.

This is a great coffee and tea shop. The latte I had from here was quite excellent. Even higher marks however go to the tea blends that they put together - their Irish breakfast blends are really quite fabulous. We took various bags back with us. Service was focused and friendly, and the place has a nice decor.
