WOW - Was this a great meal! Fine dining food quality in a casual setting. Thought his was going to be a nice upscale fish and chip restaurant because of the high tourist traffic. I was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding food. The Crab Salad my wife had was just lovely and I can strongly recommend the Monk Fish and Prawn Pie. It was no ordinary meal--the perfectly portioned mashed potatoes were on the bottom, followed with the generous monk fish chunks and prawns in a delicate and non-standard cream sauce. The sauce was tasty without overpowering the flavors of the fish and prawns--how they did this was masterful. Then on top was a seasoned breadcrumb topping that probably had some cheese (again not much, just perfect) for flavor. All in all, it was a fish pie to be remembered All in all a great experience.

We didn’t go inside to the actual restaurant but visited their little seafood market which is right next to their restaurant. It was really great, all the produce was fresh and looked great and they had lots of different options and they even had a coffee shop and a bar inside. Prices are a bit high but you pay for quality - definitely worth a visit even if you’re not buying something then just to look and see what they’ve caught for the day

Fantastic location, food, and service. Impeccable dining experience right by the Dart and the water. We got a table on the patio in a sunny day and had a gorgeous meal. We also treated ourselves to a lovely bottle if wine. I highly recommend the oysters, anchovies, and the fish pies. The whole menu is very impressive. We had a dog with us and the servers were so sweet; bringing him water and getting down to give him a cuddle in a quiet moment. When it got a little chilly we were offered blankets. This location is a real winner. Fantastic for people watching and taking in the view of the water. The restaurant looks gorgeous on the inside too and the washrooms upstairs were spotless.

The market part of Beshoffs is very poor quality for produce. Most of their fresh items (as detailed in the pics below) is either gone-off, mouldy or sprouted. I've asked the staff working there about it a few times now and I've either been met with shrugged indifference or a hostile "then don't buy it!". This would be okay if it wasn't for the fact that they have entire baskets of spoiled items (I can't remember the last time they sold avocados that weren't black on the inside - I've bought a good few there over the last year!) so if you go there to buy something like potatoes or apricots there's a good chance you'll find everything is spoilt. Fish guys working there are pretty nice and sound. A lot of the cashiers though are stuck up and condescending.

Love this place, food was great service was wonderful, fair price.… Manager Emmett was so accommodating, he made this place even more special for us. Would love to come back again and definitely recommended if you are in this area.

We got Scalped! Most disappointing experience. 20 mins queuing to order, told order would take 25 mins if we wanted to wait. The order took 45 mins to prepare... at at takeaway! It was 12.95 Euro for 12 chips and a single cod goujon (picture for reference). Avoid this scalping ripoff takeaway, there are plenty betterplaces in Howth to get a good portion of fish and chips. Shame on you Beshoffs, there is a pandemic and you are using it as an excuse to scalp your customers.

Extensive menu, comfortable outdoor dining, reasonable prices and most obliging staff. Although we (a party of 4 ladies) arrived about 20 minutes before closing time they were quite happy to serve us a 3 course meal. Whilst we didn't delay, there was no sense of the staff trying to hurry us along. Dietary needs were dealt with graciously and the food was delicious. Cleared plates all round. I certainly hope to be back soon and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

Our party stopped in for dinner after a long day of sightseeing. This place was PERFECT for a wonderfully fresh seafood dinner. Everything was well prepared and very flavorful - from the prawn cocktail appetizer to the chocolate tort dessert. The staff was very attentive, and was friendly and knowledgeable. The ONLY downside was that the place was a bit loud (primarily due to one large group) - and the manager even tried to assist with that by moving us to another table. We would most definitely eat here again, if ever back in Howth.

Light and airy restaurant, friendly, efficient staff and excellent food. I opted for scallops as a starter and a main of tempura Dublin Bay prawns, both were excellent washed down by a couple of glasses of Guiness. Overall a great experience that I would happily recommend.

Excellent service, booked a reservation the same day. Wine, Guiness and coffee hit the spot. Its tidy and the food was great. My only grip would be...my husband's and my prawns were overcooked.

They serve fresh seafood and they do it well. I wanted to try them our pre-Covid and only had the chance to eat there recently. It was worth the wait. Their oysters are really savoury and the scallops were outstanding. Great atmosphere and service too!

Food are brilliant in this restaurant, yes seafood. We had a good meal at Beshoff on a rainy day, was quite busy on the day so had to wait longer to be served but totally worth it.

Food and service are great, the place is large indoor/outdoor and in the heart of Howth. Highly recommend the fish and chips plate and the grilled halloumi as appetizer. Better to book especially in weekends.

The service was good and the outdoor seating was nice The price is higher than others in the area and not suitable with meal amount We ordered the crab burger and Fish and ships (without alcohol). The fish and ships was good but the crab burger was wrong choice as we didn't like it at all.

Nice little restaurant at the port, reasonable pricing and good quality fish. Portions are a bit small. 🦀 If you love crab patty burgers, don’t buy theirs - it’s just (fresh) battered crab meat in a bun. Delicious but doesn’t have the texture and taste it should have. 🦪 The oysters are fresh and of great quality. They aren’t served as most good places serve them in Dublin with nice chunky vinegars. You only get a red vinegar liquid. 🥔 The chips / potatoes were a bit „tough“, not really eatable. The manager heard our complaint and promptly took them off the bill (we didn’t expect nor did we wish it, we were purely interested in giving her a helpful critique). She said it’s the time of year in Ireland where potatoes aren’t that good - but there are other places with great potatoes, so we’ll just leave it at that.

First time in Ireland and if you are looking to have the traditional Irish sea food - fish & chips this is the place YOU have to go! It’s this restaurant by the bay with amazing food. The fish & chips is to die for. It was a celebration in every single bite. We also tried the sea food chowder. It must be an comfort food, so good. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again.

Friendly albeit somewhat unorganized and to my taste, slow staff. The fish and chips... 2 of the 3 plates had good fresh fish, the 3rd one was a mush and just not good. The chips at best mediocre on all 3 plates. Nothing too bad but quite the room for improvement.

The best fish and chips in Dublin. Period. Pair it with a beautiful pint of Guinness and it’s a beautiful dance of flavours in your mouth. The atmosphere is amazing and service is pretty fast. The fish was light and super crispy on the outside but very delicate and fluffy on the inside. It came with delicious thick cut fries and probably the best mushy peas I’ve ever tasted. Haven’t tried other dishes but I would assume that they’d be great considering the quality of the fish and chips. Lastly, everything is reasonably priced considering the quality and quantity of the food served. Can’t recommend this place enough.

A very good place to feast on Irish Sea food. Well located close to the Dart Station and just opposite to the Howth Market, with a fish mongers shop of their own, it’s surely a great place for a sea food meal and vegetarian food is ok though limited. I don’t think vegan options exist. The dining in front of the Restaurant is good, some cramped, but the one in front of the fish mongers is not clean and not comfortable - unfortunate that we got a seat there. Given COVID and ourdoor only options, couldn’t blame much. The staff were a mix of good and ok, meaning some were nice and friendly and a few were a bit grumpy, the food was good, not wow, and the price was surely on the high side. So all in all, not an amazing experience, hence 3 star at max.

Superb Easter Sunday treat! Food is amazing. Put our names down for the one hour wait and am so glad we did, food is brilliant. We had Oysters, Halibut and the seafood linguine!

The welcome was a bit reserved. But the service afterward was very correct. If you compare the other restaurants on the harbor, Beshoffs could have a bit more charm. However, the quality of the food makes up for it all. The fish is fresh and the dishes very tasty. The restaurant has its own fish market. Definitely worth a visit!

The food was delicious and everyone could find some good flavors for themselves, those who are on a light diet and those who can eat everything. In the restaurant they are very busy but nevertheless they will take care of the well-being of the customer. In addition, you can eat food outside in the company of our little friends and share with them☺️

I was impressed by the hugh selection of fresh fish and shellfish. The service was excellent and faultless though the prices are slightly higher than the other shops. Most of the packaging were well sealed. The chilled selection of King Prawns and Smoked Salmon were really a good starter. The homemade sauce was nice with a tangy favour. The bread selection was good and in particular the " dark rye" loaf baked on site still warm. A definite must try. Get there early as it got sold out pretty quickly. A market place for seafood not to be missed!

We went for light lunch at the seafood bar inside the Beshoff Market Hall. The seafood is fresh and done perfectly. We enjoyed all dishes we ordered. The only thing that i am not happy is that they don't have razor clams, which is my favorite.

Amazing fish at a very good price. Service on the contrary is very poor. Very very slow and not only to bring the food, which is understandable when they prepare it, but also to receive a single beer or a basket of bread. Also a non efficient booking management... In summary food excellent, the rest... poor

Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful fishing town.. Howth is one of my favorite places in Ireland, and Beshoffs SeaGrill is a great spot to visit while in Howth. Food is fresh and delicious, large portions and excellent taste and presentation. Make reservations because it will get busy, and enjoy this gem and all the wonderful seafood Howth has to offer.

One of my favorite restaurants in Howth, at least it was in pre-pandemic times. During my last visit I was a bit disappointed by the mastery of the dishes, plus the price a bit high for a new quality. Before the pandemic the chef's mastery was on top (maybe a new chef now?), now it is great but nothing special that matches the increased price (just compare old (2+ years) and new photos of this place)😉

Great service. Lovely restaurant. I had the crab burger with Asian slaw and fries for €19.95. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. If it was €12.95 I’d give an extra star. I think 3 stars is about right given the price.

👍👍 Had an incredible time in Howth after hiking along the cliff sides and ended the day at this nice restaurant. It was somewhat busy but I was seated in less than 5 min. 😐 Quirky spot in Howth. We sat in covered outdoor area where dog are allowed. Unusual & interesting decor, nice subdued lighting, relaxed atmosphere.
