👍👍 A very nice cafe where you can apparently eat "the best Irish breakfast". Well we're not from Dublin so we had to try it. There was a very long queue waiting to be seated at 10:30am. We had to wait like 30 minutes to have a table outside. It was really sunny this morning so it was pretty nice but I... A very nice cafe where you can apparently eat "the best Irish breakfast". Well we're not from Dublin so we had to try it. There was a very long queue waiting to be seated at 10:30am. We had to wait like 30 minutes to have a table outside. It was really sunny this morning so it was pretty nice but I think that it's inside of the cafe that you can live the full experience. I just went to pay and it was so lively and charming. The Irish breakfast was truly nice. We had an egg (sunny side up, my fav), sausages well grilled, baked beans (not too sugary. They were perfect for me), bacon, white and black pudding and bread. Everything was tasty, nicely cooked and I had a wonderful time. I was full for like 8 hours so it was more like a brunch than a breakfast for me, but I have quite a small appetite. My boyfriend wanted a cookie 4 hours after so I suppose it depends. The waiters were really nice, especially the one at the counter. The prices were quite okay I guess. 13€ for an Irish breakfast. It used to be less expensive but it was like 5 years ago so it's understandable. I recommend it!

We stumbled upon this place on accident and had the best time. The staff are hilarious, incredibly quick-witted, and so welcoming. The locals who dine there were charming and friendly as well. We laughed a ton and loved the food, too. As a foreigner, it was the perfect welcome to Dublin and a fantastic start to our trip. Thanks all at the Stage Door Cafe!

Came here because of the so many great reviews. Don't get me wrong, I've had horrible experience in places with 5*reviews. Nevermind, the reviews do justice to this cozy coffee shop. Service was, somehow different, efficient and friendly. Food was fantastic. Humble but inviting place. All in all, good to add another 5* to this place. So we'll deserved!

Instantly felt so welcome. What a guy the owner is! So bubbly, attentive and hilarious! The coffee was strong and amazing. Food was lovely too. Great little authentic irish cafe. We left with a list of recommended bars to try and a little bit warmer after a drop of complimentary whiskey!

Smashing Irish breakfast, gorgeous irish coffee, very friendly staff. Cosy little place, authentically different, with a style of their own. Worth a visit.

After reading so many reviews, I decided that The Stage Door would be my first stop for my first meal in Ireland. I have to say the meal did not disappoint. It was hearty and delicious. The beans were my favorite part! The staff were welcoming and extremely funny. They gave us a few pub recommendations to visit while we were here and I have to say it was a great start of our vacation in Ireland.

Great cafe! It’s a worthy place to start your day - an Irish breakfast, an Irish coffee, and a little humor from the chef himself. Fun atmosphere and just what you need on your trip to Dublin.

This is my go to place for breakfast everytime I am in Dublin. The welcoming is warm and friendly, and the breakfast really is the best in Dublin! Wouldn’t go anywhere else for breakfast.

We both had the Irish Breakfast and an Irish Coffee. Both were outstanding. Additionally, the staff were both very friendly and took time to check in on us several times and visit with is as well. Good old fashioned Irish hospitality! A must when in Dublin.

This is such an amazing place - must go when you visit Dublin. The food is delicious and portion sizes are very generous! The service is absolutely amazing - funniest people about and so so friendly. Would come back when next visiting Dublin in a heartbeat.

Loved this spot. Came here per a friend’s recommendation and we were glad we did. We came around 11:30am on a Sunday and we had to wait a little bit (the restaurant is quite cozy) but it wasn’t too bad. We each had an Irish breakfast, which you could see being made right in front of the open kitchen. Cash only. Indoor and outdoor dining available. The service was lovely - a bit snarky but all in good humor. I also liked how the food was cooked fresh to each order, so while there was a wait when there was a rush, the patience is worth it.

What a hidden gem! A friend recommended this cafe for breakfast and it was amazing! The cafe is small, but cozy with little tables and seating areas. There is wood trim and stained glass, along with nicknacks that make you smile. The staff is very friendly and genuinely care about your well being. They'll chat you up and you'll have new friends by the time you walk out! The food was fantastic and plentiful. I highly recommend the full Irish breakfast. Treat yourself to an Irish coffee while you're at it! Enjoy!

Dublin’s best breakfast is a bold claim to make, but The Stage Door really does hold that title. The breakfast was by far the best I’ve ever had! Lovely quirky little cafe a stones throw away from Temple Bar, this is a must visit! Owner was really welcoming and lovely, honestly one of the most kind hearted people you’ll ever meet!

So you want to experience a real Irish breakfast in Temple Bar and you don't have any idea of where to go. So that's the place. Small, cozy, often crowded, the Stage Door Café will welcome you and let you experience an excellent genuine Irish Breakfast. The place is not that big so you might have to wait for a table, but that's ok. Breakfast costs around 14€, coffee 4€. People are friendly and even when it's crowded (almost always) the service is fast. Don't miss it out.

This place claims to have 'Dublin's best breakfast' and if it doesn't it must be pretty close. I had the full Irish which was delicious and well presented. - also included both black and white pudding. There was only one waiter on and the place was busy on a Saturday morning - but his humour more than kept everyone happy. I would definitely recommend this place.

Definitely a place worth visiting. The irish breakfast was delicious. Due to Covid there was staff shortage, so the owner was serving - he was really kind and funny guy. 10/10 would recommend!

I came on the second day of opening post covid closures so the menu was limited to Irish breakfast—I’m SO GLAD it was!! This was the best Irish breakfast I’ve ever had (granted I am Canadian); it was smoky, sweet, salty, and rich with charred bits on the meats. Even the toast was wonderful! In addition to the excellent food, the atmosphere was absolutely lovely. The owner is warm, welcoming, and kind. Since the place just opened, the owner is missing staff, so a restaurant owner from next door was helping him out in serving, even grabbing ingredients from his own restaurant when needed. Highly recommend!!!!!

Went for a breakfast here on the first day in Dublin. The chef and owner should be a required Irish experience of his own. What a charming and hillarious man! As for the food well... He ran out of one ingredient after another as we arrived near close on a sunday, and I am glad he did- never in my 26years of life have I liked eggs but when this man made me a vegetarian breakfast (and rang the damn bell for it too) with what remained, the toast and tomato with scrambled eggs and spinach and DEAR GOD ABOVE. I. Like. Eggs. Now. And I am so damn happy about it. God bless you, miracle chef. See you next time we're in Dublin.

We were warmly greeted by a young server who showed us to a table and then we ordered immediately so was quickly and friendly service! We ordered full Irish breakfast which was great big enough to fill the gap but not too big that you were knackered after finishing. Great place to sit either inside or out and you can people watch as locals and tourists pass through temple bar. Great little place.

The food was great and the staff is amazing. They are so friendly and helpful. We had the traditional Irish breakfast and vegetarian breakfast. Both were perfect. It's a must see when you're in Dublin.

This place was wonderful. My family and I traveled to Dublin from NJ and were looking for a place just like this. It’s small but very cute and cozy. You have to get there early, and you must try the Irish Coffee, there is plenty of toast with your meal. My teenage son was with us and he enjoyed it as well. The owner was very funny and made the experience twice as fun. Temple Bar is a short walk away, since we were there early in the AM we got some good pics.

We were wondering through the streets of Dublin looking for somewhere to eat breakfast. A man who was cleaning the streets asked if we were looking for breakfast and directed us to this place. It was a little hard to find at first, but once we were there we were greeted and placed in the gay corner. I had a coffee and an Irish breakfast my wife had the same but with Tea. When we had finished, the owner gave us some sites to visit and recommend some local taverns to visit. This place I'd definitely worth the visit if you are stuck for inspiration of where to visit while enjoying a friendly atmosphere while eating g some good traditional Irish food. I am looking forward to the next visit. 👍

Alan and the staff are as good as the excellent food. Even though right in the middle of tourist area- he makes you feel like you are one of his regular” local” guests. Again- good excellent- but the atmosphere is so much more than just the food. Alan gave us tips and local suggestions on places to eat etc.

So we missed breakfast at the hotel, one morning, and we’re looking for a place to have breakfast. We came across this place and, in all honesty, the breakfast was 100 times better than it was at the hotel. The guys working there were a real Hwy, and the food was outstanding. If you’re in the area, check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Cracking little breakfast spot! So cosy and warm inside. We were a little unsure of where to go for breakfast, and the sign stating they had the best breakfast in Dublin intrigued us. Safe to say it did not disappoint! Phenomenal food made fresh but served quickly, just what you want when you’ve had a night out at the surrounding pubs and bars the night before. Large portion sizes and great value for money. Our waiter with the man bun (so sorry I didn’t catch your name!) was friendly and attentive, and recommended some fab places for us to go for drinks later on in the day. Great little find and would definitely recommend!

Good food, but very bad service. About ten minutes into eating he told me to get off my phone and hurry up. He then told the people behind me to also hurry up as he was expecting more customers (even though there was no one in line waiting outside). If you're okay with having a rushed breakfast give it a visit. Don't expect a relaxing experience. Despite being one of the tastier breakfasts I had in Ireland (great Irish coffee) the overall experience left a bad taste in the mouth.

  • 2/5 Brent L. 4 years ago on Google
It’s a quaint little place for breakfast, although the service is not the best. It took a while to place our order, and we had to ask for utensils, refills, etc. Seating inside as well as sidewalk cafe style seating was available. We sat outside because there was a wait to sit inside. We had the cheese and bacon omelette, and the cheese and mushroom omelette. Both included buttered toast, and the omelettes were “OK” but a bit on the dry side (and cost €9.95) €7.95 should have been more like it. Green tea was €3.95. As I already stated, the service wasn’t the best, servers had to be flagged down often. At one point, one of the only two servers we ever saw, decided to take a smoke break on the patio right in front of us. I was trying to flag him down for our check, but it was madness trying to get his attention. I’d skip this place if I were you.

The owner was funny and was very freindly. We loved the place so much we went back the next day and the owner remembered us. Place is small so get in early to grab a seat because you don't want to miss out on this breakfast. First day I tried the BLT and made it "sexy"(egg on top). Second day I tried the omlette with ham and mushrooms. He made my 3 year old the biggest hit chocolate with the big marshmallows in it amd my daughter loved it. My wife and I had the Irish coffee which was the best I had so far.
