This hidden gem was as gorgeous as it looks just as advertised on Instagram ❤️. We came for brunch and absolutely loved it. The food is cooked so well and the staff and so lovely. Can't wait to bring my other group of friends here. Definitely a must do especially with the weather being so lovely.

Hard to find little breakfast cafe is worth hunting down! Google maps will get you there but it’s down a quiet alley with one very small handmade sign on the gate. The food here is fantastic! Also coffees and teas and baked goods including cakes and lemon bars. Oh man I’m getting hungry again writing this review! We ate breakfast, then bought some baked treats to go. (The chocolate ganache cake didn’t make it to the end of the block)

This is a cute cafe in Kevin Street. You can enter the cafe from a book store. The quality of their cakes is amazing. The have good snack options. Small place, so you might have to wait until you find a table.

Located behind a bookshop (you need to enter The Last Bookshop and go out the back door), it’s like entering a little oasis. Their carrot cake, chocolate and brownie are really good (the cake tester plate less so, so I wish there had been the option of choosing which 3 cakes you’d like to try). Unfortunately the food has been inconsistent the past couple of times I’ve visited. The poached eggs were a disaster - it was as far from perfectly oozy as you can possibly get, with the yolk crumbling as if it had been boiled for a solid 10min. The neighbouring table was the same. We were treated graciously by the staff when we notified them at the end of our meal. A simple timer for the eggs and checking in on tables would go a long way in fixing such issues.

I don’t recommend this cafe at all. Although the staff were nice, the service I got was terrible! I ordered a piece of sponge cake which was not fresh at all. They brought my coffee first and served the cake after 25 minutes!!! My coffee got cold and tasteless!!! . I won’t recommend this cafe!

Lovely cafe with friendly staff in the most beautiful hidden location behind a The Last Bookshop. I had the Potato Farl which was up there as one of the tastiest meals I’ve had!, all the different flavours worked so well together in a scrumptious taste explosion! The cake slice I got for my 5 year old was a little overpriced at €4.80 but it seems that this is becoming the norm everywhere?

We are very big fans of Google! With Google you find very special places that you would not have found without Google. And this is one of them! The weather outside was really frightful, but the people and ambiance was so delightful. We came in from extreme rain, lightning and thunder lashes. Inside there was an oase of tranquility of people working, talking, enjoying and being themselves. It is a small but lovely place where you get an honest and completely self made lunch. Even though my double espresso became a ristretto and was a tag cold, it is forgiven. It tasted perfect. We took a whole included lunch for 30,-/prs: the afternoon lunch. It is served on a tray of plates with a savoury plate of home made sandwiches on home made bread, with e.g. homemade cream and home made jam/jello. There was some salad with a really nice dressing, so don’t ignore that. Your dessert-plate is in the meanwhile waiting for you on top. First you might think, no two of everything, but as you start you realize that you are forced to get romantisch and share. There are some lovely tables outside (see pictures), but the weather was just too bad. Even the toilet is very special. It shows an expression of honest and truthful tolerance and respect on its own. We had an excellent afternoon tea and we strongly recommend this little gem.

Cosy small cafe in hidden place. You should enter through bookshop in the main street. It looks like family business. They have very delicious homemade cake . It was huge piece , so be aware when you order. The staff are welcoming and helpful. They have additional out seating area.

Take one look at that plate of beans on toast and tell me you wouldn't lap it up like a cat with a saucer of cream. Great food, very friendly staff. Highly recommend The Cake Cafe!

Lovely place to have a quick breakfast, meal, snack, or simply have a cup of coffee whileenjoying thier variety of cakes and pasteries. The baking smell will hit you with delight as you walk in to their place. It is hard to find without google maps or a local guide, but totally worth the search.

Small but lovely café located in a backyard. Great coffee, but also good tea options and Kombucha. Cake is very tasty. Perfect in the sunnier season when you can sit outside. Never disappoints.

We asked the Cake Cafe for a three tier, chocolate Belgian cake for our wedding in August 2021 and we were delighted with set up, decoration and taste! Many commented it was the nicest wedding cake they ever had! Thanks to Ray and all the team for helping to make the day so special :-) Michelle and Macdara

The cakes are delicious and the cafe itself is a nice gem just behind the book shop. However the lines to be seated are a little confusing and the service was quite slow for example we got our cakes but it took up to 10+ minutes for us to get our beverages which was a little inconvenient. I've been meaning to visit this place for over a year and I can recommend the cakes which are 4.5 each and are a great size

Nice cafe hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's really pleasant to sit and relax in the artistic courtyard on a sunny day. We enjoyed coffee and cake, both good, only complaint was the size of the coffee cups, a little small. The staff are very friendly.

One of my most favourite places in Dublin - don't tell anyone, it's a secret!! But seriously, Ray and his team have created an idyllic haven of calm in a busy city, full of friendly staff and gorgeous food (not just the cakes, but the savoury stuff too!). And if you get a chance, try Ray's amazing Baking Class - 3 hours of fun, and you go home with lots of gorgeous goodies to share (or not!). I love that you can peruse The Last Bookshop on Camden St before wandering out the back of the shop to the Cake Café and enjoy the best of both worlds - book and baking!

Super cute cafe with delicious food, tried the special toast and it was awesome. The spicy gingerbeer was great also. Got to sit in the lovely sun trap garden and browse in the bookshop it's hidden behind afterwards. Perfect afternoon

Such a beautiful setting to wile away an afternoon with great food, delicious cake and fantastic staff. One thing that really struck me is how happy all the staff seem, they're like a bunch of friends welcoming you into their tea party. Gorgeous garden area and the bathroom is nicer than my entire apartment ;)

Its shame because the food is good, the cakes are lovely, but the staff are slow and incredibly rude. Went there today ordered coffee, mint tea and cake, took 20 mintues and while the waitress held the 2 cakes in her hands she wanted to serve another table and gave attitude when we said we were waiting. There was only one other table apart from us so being busy wasnt really an excuse. Its not really a conundrum though, theres plenty of other places around the area that have food just as good with really friendly staff. It depends on what experinece youre looking for, but i work hard and when i go out i expect to spend money in places where i believe im a valued customer. Dont expect here.

Fantastic place for a cup of tea, coffee, and a bite to eat. Don't let the fact that it's tucked away stop you from making a stop for an afternoon tea, or just a scone and coffee.

We had the granola and the poached eggs with pea guac and both were excellent. Really tasty and fresh. We came back for cake on the same day. The cakes were great too. The only downside is that the place is pretty busy (understandably) so it’s a bit of a wait. But the servers were lovely too.

Great café! The atmosphere is very welcoming, the staff are kind and very helpful, the only downside (and it's not that bad) is the wait, but coming at a busy time, it is completely underdtandable. The food is delicious and compensates more than enough for the wait!

I took my mom here for afternoon tea to celebrate her birthday while we visited London. The surroundings are simple, but I loved the atmosphere. There’s a great outdoor seating space which we couldn’t use because of the rain, but it was so beautiful to walk through. I tried the roasted vegetable sandwich, which was amazing. We shared a cake plate, and a pot of tea. Everything was so delicious!! On top of that, our waitress really went above and beyond and gave us incredible service the entire time we were there. Highly recommend if you have a chance to go!

Super nice cafeteria a bit hidden from one of the main road of the citycenter. There are two entrances, one from a library in camden street and the other in a little lane behind. Enjoyable and cosy the little garden, the cakes are tasty and there is a variety of different coffees. I tried the bicerin. Highly recommended

What a hidden gem. We went on a recommendation and we weren’t disappointed. Really friendly staff and the meal I had was to die for. Certainly one of the best light brunch dishes I have ever tasted. I so recommended this place.

Cafe is hidden between a small alley and the old bookshop. It has a great outdoor seating and a comfortable place inside. All dishes we had there were very tasty and felt very much homemade. The selection of cakes is small but they all look great. Our visit was topped by a visit of tiny dog called Bernie from the next door book shop. I don't know how I have never heard of this place but this is a true hidden gem.

Brilliant afternoon tea delivered at home, including prosecco cocktail! It was really a lovely treat for a lockdown birthday, and they managed to make everything gluten free! It's a shame the weather isn't so good for picnics anymore, because I want a picnic basket!

Gorgeous outside area with lots of plants surrounding. Delish food and equally good coffee. Staff very attentive and accommodating to any allergies. The dog resident really adds to charm also!

Cake Cafe was amazing. It has what so many cafes in Dublin lack; a unique twist with its dishes. Sitting outside felt Covid-safe and staff were sensible with masks. Great coffee. Great food. Great brunch. Will be back!

Food is homemade and very tasty. Don't recommend to go at 12.00 since it is when the cafe is at its busiest and service might be a bit chaotic. Other than that, its a nice little hidden gem which you enter through a bookshop. Very trendy looking. Their French toast special is an absolute must. Coffee is pretty decent too.

My sister in law had booked afternoon tea here for the 27th after 2:30pm. Paid for all in advance and have email correspondence confirming they were expecting us. On arrival at 2:55pm we discovered the cafe was closed and they were not answering their phone. A resident passing by informed us they were closed for the day, despite them confirming the date and time for us. My sister in law travelled from the United States to spend limited time with the family. This was planned weeks in advance, and there was no email or phone call to inform us that they would be closed for the day or asking us to reschedule. Absolute joke, as €80 was spent in advance on this cafe. Expecting a full refund and retention of the voucher.

Really hidden small place with good coffee and cakes. I bet it must be lovely in a nice day cause there's a small outdoor garden and tables outside.I visited in November and staff was constantly opening the doors and despite our complains they left doors open a lot and it was freezing inside. I wouldn't recommend food here- it's soaked in oil , my egg's whites weren't done and just wasn't tasty. We were a difficult group of 7, I get it, but staff wasn't too welcoming and every order was such a problem for them! So I have very mixed feeling, though I must admit cakes were excellent!

Updated: dropped in for a coffee with partner and child in stroller so sat outside. Coffees first were great, decided to get the chorizo scramble but wanted to share. No issues and the dish was served on two separate plates. A nice touch, and good service as it should be. It was delish. Then for the carrot cake again split and it came with two plates if we wanted to split. Really wanted to just highlight the good service. Hard to find these days. Great work guys. We were there as the place opened and we had the full café to ourselves. Funny to say the atmosphere was good with no one there, but the music and the sounds of the staff working away getting ready for the day generated a warm cosy feeling. Food was great, very tasty and large portions. Coffee was offered first thing as we perused the menu always nice to be attended to straight away. Impressive café with excellent staff and great food and coffee. Can't complain do won't, I'd recommend obviously and we will be back
