    Tesco Clarehall has a trolley dock right beside the taxi rank out front. For years now, the smaller trolley dock has been without a key to release the money from the trolley. It has never been fixed regardless of numerous complaints. Staff are well aware the next nearest dock is back up on the first floor in the building. No one is going to go back up, dock their trolley to get their money and carry their shopping all the way back down by hand so the trolleys are abandoned and staff pocket the money. It's a well known scam.

    The store itself is alright, even though there is not significantly much more choice than in Tescos that are 10x smaller, for some weird reason. Also, security stickers on chicken, really? Are we in Les Misérables where we have to chase chicken stealers? Tesco is allowing people to steal trolleys (see picture), so they're getting dumped in the environment. They don't either respond to customer support to come and collect them 400m away from the store. The delivery service is terrible. Driver calls us instead of ringing the doorbell (we were both home), we did not answer the phone, so he just left and didn't answer when we call him back right after. Store tried to contact the driver, still didn't answer. I eventually got delivered, but the driver lied to my face claiming he rang the door and waited for 10mn, which can't be possibly true as we were both quietly working close to the door, didn't hear a thing, and also opened the door 3mn after the phone call.

    Not sure whether it was the Management at Store level or the Head Office boffins who felt it would be a good idea to change the entire shop layout overnight. Now I know the physiology behind it, get people to buy something they had no intention of buying while searching for a required product, but hey bad news it had the complete opposite effect on our shopping experience. As well as annoying the hell out of us, we couldn't find half of what we were looking for and ended up spending half of what we normally would, food for thought or what !

    When it came to paying for items today I went to Till 13, cashier informed me that I would have to go to another Cashier as she only served customers who had scanned their items. There were another two staff having a chat with Till 13 Cashier. I went to Till 14, The Cashier's name was Sarah. There were two customers ahead of me. The customer at top of queue was having her items being put through by Sarah. Customer dropped her bottle of Nutella and it smashed on the floor. Sarah got up immediately to assist customer, assuring her not to worry, Sarah went and got two caution notices to make the area safe of customers. As this was happening, the Three Staff at Till 13 did nothing to assist, in fact they did not even draw a breath. By this time there were quite a few customers waiting to be served at Till 14, Till 13 had passed on two other customers that I saw, Because they had not used Scanner while shopping. Sarah was extremely calm and more than pleasant did not even seem to notice her queue was getting longer. She served the lady in front of me, who passed the comment, that service was getting slower in the store recently, I could not agree or disagree because to date it has not been my experience. Sarah then served me. She has a very good approach to customers. I was very impressed. I was not at all impressed with the Three Amigos they give a very bad impression of the Store. There was every opportunity for at least two of them to help as they appeared to have nothing to do.

    went to dublin for my friends confirmation, i am a my little pony G4/G5 collector. i was buying ponies and around my place we dont have self checkouts, i didnt know how to use it and my friend was buying themselves jeans, this lady walks up. I ask for help. What did she do? stare at my ponies and look dissapointed that a teenager was buying them, then just simply walk away. 1 star of 5, never coming again, never spending my money there ever again, please be nicer to older collectors that collect toys dont be rude be polite to your CUSTOMERS!!!

    Takes longer to queue for a till than doing the actual shop. Maybe try putting more than two staff on during the weekend?

    The new layout is absolutely atrocious. Can’t fond anything. Zero signage over any of the aisle. No staff on the floor to try and facilitate for the complete revamp of the store. Hands down the worst grocery shopping experience.

    Who doesn't love walking around a shop with a chaotic layout, and no markers to tell you where anything is. Asked a staff member where the eggs have been moved to and he didn't know. If the layout isn't broke don't fix it.

    I usually shop here, and it is a good supermarket. But they changed the opening hours WITHOUT telling anybody and it does not make sense as opening at 7am on Saturday was very convenient and also have a les stressful experience. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, specially without informing regular customers

    Glenn on the Tesco mobile counter needs to be commended. On a recent trip home I needed a solution to get data for gps. He was so wonderful and said let me set it up then I’ll explain how you use it. Struggled with sims etc. he’s a credit to your store.

    I was back in Ireland for 3 weeks last month and I stayed with friends at clarehall. Tesco was my local shop while there and I must say I was hugely impressed by the store and its large variety of groceries' and brands. The staff were amazing and in particular Pam or Pamela who seemed to be the face of Tesco as I also seemed to end up in her section lost while looking for something in particular . She was so helpful and and always pointed me in the right direction. She seemed to know where everything was in the store and if she did not she got me someone to get it for me. Pam was so friendly and obliging which prompted me to write this review, She is a credit to Tesco as indeed all the staff I engaged with there during my three week stay. The store in general is a reflection of the management and staff and I wish them well for the future. Thank you Pam

    Worst shopping if you buying TV! They said that you have guarantee one years, but when you come after 5 months, because you have issues with TV, then they said, we have just one month guarantee for return in shop for other issues you need to contact manufacturer! I asked why they didn't say when we buying TV, they didn't give me answer!!

    ( 14.11.2023. Tuesday 2:55pm) Yesterday's usual visit to the store brought me a totally devastating blow as a regular customer. Trying to pay a attention to the employee that the self-service machine did not recognised coins but only paper money, so it took only some bit of my bill and that there was some mistake with machine. Her reaction simply amazed me. She try to fix machine wher coins going but she didn't solve the problem, machine still was showing just that I paid with paper money so she went to the surveillance cameras with security guy to check if I had put ANY money inside. Coming back after more than 10 minutes after a long line has already formed with custumers and while everyone is staring at me creating inconvenience atmosphere she comes to the conclusion that I only put in side of machine a few cents like small coins while I try to explain that it is not a small amount but 10€ of coins what would be taking longer and I inserted without return and she could see that. I was trying to explain that machine doesn't even showing that "small coins" what she apperentaly seew on camera. But not even that make her to think that machine could be broken or something and it's not my fault she was keeping repeating that I have to pay a bill. To avoid all this discussion and embrace in front of people in middle of after noon rush, I decide to pay again the same amount that I already pay and leave a store. It's not about the money, but about humanity and their customers service, how they decided to solve the problem that I tried to point out as a problem of machine, as a customer who comes often, not expecting me to leave embarrassed and humiliated paying more than I should as I tried to steal or not paying my bill.

    Myself and my friends (all 18 years of age with valid government id) all denied service because the man at the till said we had to be “20” - we then said we would go to a different till. He then ran to each till and told all staff working not to serve us - the manager then came out and said we have the right to refuse you. There was no grounds not to serve us only because the manager didn’t want to undermine his employee. Staff extremely rude and unprofessional.

    A lot of staff there at the tills is unfriendly and have zero customer orientation! The attitude of some is pretty astonishing. I never came across that in any other supermarket including other Tesco stores.

    I bought two Google play cards from tesco and they say they were activated only to contact Google them selves to find out they weren't activated do not go to tesco any buy Google play cards they are scamming you with them lying to people saying they are activated when they aren't.

    I was shopping there this morning. I haven't been in Clare hall Tesco's for nearly two years and I got a bit flustered at the self service till .There was a staff member there and she was very helpful she even helped me pack my bags .

    No point dropping in for big shopping here two tills only serving spent 30 mins in queue. Self scan does not allow any trolleys and even though I can bring small trolley though Tesco maynooth self scan area this shop is only interested in people doing small shops. So will be doing shopping somewhere else instead.

    One thing I love about this Tesco is the fact that, they close at 12 midnight. They stay open long enough for me to grab somethings when I am going home late from work. And it is very big and provides a large variety of shopping items at consumptions disposal. Really love it here.

    Tesco's "computer" section consists of only wireless mice and all phone usbs. Despite selling printers for computers, you won't be able to get a usb to connect it in Tesco, you have to go elsewhere. So frustrating when you need one at short notice!

👍👍 After looking everywhere for lactose free milk, finally found it here in the food hall. Beautiful design, sort of art nouveau, with iron casted architecture, diverse shops and cosy interiors. Really recommend also for tourists who need to shop forgotten items.
