Great intimate venue. Got a birdseye view for Stephen Fretwell, one of my all time favorite performers. !!

The security guys are absolutely amazing. Me and my friend came covered in sauce from the food we just finished at the door. They gave us tissues and threw our boxes away, I'm sure half the other places wouldn't let us in like that. It's just a shame that music stops at 7.30,we left last at 8pm compliant with regulations and still heard other places playing music loud, not even throwing people out yet.

Was looking for a plugged in music venue in Dublin and stumbled onto this amazing place. Saw Rowdy Outsider who was killer. Really well made drinks for a fair price. Bar staff was super friendly. Highly recommend!

Paddy Casey gig was one of the best I've been to. He is an amazing entertainer. He's good craic and brings the audience along with him. Backing from his daughter Saoirse is excellent

I love Whelans. It's a great place to see musicians you love and to discover those you didn't know before. The vibe is always good, and I love all the spaces.

Fantastic venue. You can feel the music history in the walls. Saw an awesome band called Fake Friends play their first gig. Looking forward to following their progress. We will definitely be back.

Stepping into Whelan's always feels magical. Comfortable, welcoming, friendly staff etc. Photos on the walls of some of the artists who have performed there over the many years it's been open. There are three performance areas, Little Whelan's is downstairs and the other two are upstairs. Taxis were waiting outside at the end of the evening. Reasonable drinks prices.

Leaving aside a 18 mth lack of gig going and seating only, this was absolutely brilliant-great band, excellent venue as always and fantastic atmosphere. Kudos to you Whelans..

Great venue , great staff , made for music , seen Those Charming Men , Smiths cover band there on Saturday 9th Sep 2023. Only issue Bouncers a little surly for the crowd on Saturday they weren't teenagers ....

First time going here for a gig, it's great for small concerts. I really enjoyed seeing Alana Springsteen live here, just a great nite. Very nice staff, good bar with non alcohol drinks on tap.

We had a great night here. The venue is small, seating for about 75 to 100. It was a fantastic line up- Liam from Hot House Flowers, Steve Wickham from The Waterboys, and Jo Chester. The crowd joined in on the chorus to a few of the songs. It was intimate. Bar staff were great. Big shout out to the lady barman, who was brilliant.

Came here to watch Favourite Worst Nightmare and had a great time - crowd were insane and would've loved to come back again for a few drinks another time!

Great little venue, quick bar service, but the PA wasn't really loud enough for the gig (Bob Vylan), although that may have been a band rather than venue issue. Hard to say.

You can't help but love it here! I was at a private party right up the top and it was a great space! Well apart from the music in the bar where you couldn't hear yourself think or speak to anyone else. The bar staff struggled to hear you order! Not sure that was the venues fault though!

I went here to see Laufey and Liana Flores on Halloween night. The venue was small but quite cosy and it was great to interact with the performers. There was also a screen and it is possible to go upstairs for a nicer view. Overall I had a really great time!

Great venue for a concert - clean and spacious, not too stuffy, with a good view from the balcony. The sound could be better but it might depend on the band equipment

One of the best bars in town. Anytime someone comes to visit Dublin, I bring them here. Nice pints, excellent spot for gigs on any of the stages and the DJ on Fridays & Saturdays plays good tunes.

Nothing special about the place really, I went to a "indie night" event that should be from 11pm to 3 am, and it started at 11:30pm and finished at 2:25 am. Awful DJ, play randon weird music like a radio station.

  • 4/5 alejandro r. 2 years ago on Google
Nice venue, a bit moodkiller the wheelan's sign when a big band is playing! But it was good craic

  • 5/5 Chantelle M. 7 years ago on Google
Easily one of the best indie music venues in the city. A great selection of acts at very reasonable prices. The perfect way to spend an evening and support up and coming (and established) artists.

Recently visited with some friends and was very impressed by the table allocating, cleanliness, organisation and quality of service. We had an excellent night in good company and the atmosphere was great, felt like a night out in pre-covid times, a high bar! Looking forward to my next night out already

  • 5/5 Michael Macken (. 2 years ago on Google
One of the best live venues in Ireland. An excellent small, intimate room with superb views of the stage from either of the two floors. All areas are clean, well maintained and serviced. The door and bar staff are very polite, efficient and helpful. All Covid protocols were in ace and adhered too. There's always a welcome at Whelans

Always an insane experience here for music, drinks, parties, hang outs - great music, top tier bar staff, excellent all around!

  • 5/5 Josh B. 2 years ago on Google
Great drinks, lovely service! Can't go wrong!

  • 4/5 Alan M. 4 years ago on Google
A labyrinth of a venue and new favourite of mine. The various sections cater to different music styles, there are several stages throughout for live music and a balcony section too which makes for some spectacular views. There are also many bars dotted throughout so you're never far from a drink. A refreshing break from the more commercial bars on Harcourt Street and consistently buzzing with activity. Be sure to check the Facebook page for upcoming events.

Dreadful place. Very loud, A monstrosity of a Christmas tree plonked among cheesy decor and the staff are so rude it's beyond me.

  • 2/5 Jonathan D. 2 years ago on Google
This used to be a rock bar, now its just generic pop music all night. Monotonous beats one after another. It's a real shame, it used to be one of the good places. It felt like I was in Ibiza, garbage tunes one after another

  • 5/5 Kaue Ueda S. 2 years ago on Google

  • 5/5 Andrew O. 2 years ago on Google

Incredible vibe in this joint. Very cool and has a lot of vibrancy. Never experienced a gig but I had a visit with some family and my girlfriend and had a blast. Great tunes going too with friendly faces and welcoming staff.

👍👍 Fantastic indoor entertainment venue in Dublin that holds up to 13,000 people. It's really well marshalled and queueing is kept to a minimum for drinks, food, merchandise and toilets. If you find the ground floor queues start to grow, just go upstairs for smaller queues. There's great sound and visi...
