Probably the most creatively furnished restaurant in Howth, I absolutely love the interior design, it‘s very cozy, unique and so many details to explore. 5/5 for atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the waiting times okay. The location is excellent, very central and directly next to the DART station. As much as I like this place, to be honest I have to agree with some of the previous comments, that the food is okay, also arranged very nicely, but unfortunately the taste is not a highlight. 3/5 Definitely though one of the coolest places in Howth and worth a visit.

Quirky spot in Howth. We sat in covered outdoor area where dog are allowed. Unusual & interesting decor, nice subdued lighting, relaxed atmosphere. Mix of seating: tables/chairs, sofas/coffee tables, egg chair. Friendly staff. Food only OK. Lovely wine, but pricey. Unusually they add 12.5% service charge.

A true gem. Lovely atmosphere, amazing food, good prices, friendly staff. The bathroom could be a little more clean that day, maybe it was because there's was a lot of customers. But overall a very pleasant experience, we will return. (My friends said they have the best olives ever)

I found this place online and went there because of its history. But I found this place overrated. There was no speciality in flavours and the food was okay. I had red dragon tea which was similar to berry green tea available at supermarket, though they make the tea themselves and don’t use dip bags. Due to its dog history and name, I expected to find pets there. But there were none. Interior and ambience is fine. It has a rustic old look. There are only two washrooms which are very small. I cannot imagine how they manage when the place is crowded. Don’t buy Irish coffee. It was worst.

I love this place! I have a 6 month old Cockapoo TT aka Teddy Terrorist. This is our go to most Sundays. Teddy is welcomed with a bowl of water and delicious chicken. Food Yum! Ambiance Casual and Comfy! Staff friendly and efficient. Have recommended to Many and all agree it is a magical place indeed.

Amazing place, 7/5 stars. They have a cave (no troll though, unless you count the Halloween decorations), everything is dog puns, every chair and table is different, you can have pizza on the bed. The waiters all seem like vampires that are running this shop to pet as many dogs as possible. I wish I lived here so I could go all the time. My friend says its good chai latte. Our food hasn’t even arrived yet and I am in love. Edit: food is also fantastic.

Went this morning for the first time, got breakfast for me and my wife, Dave was fantastic and friendly, I got the full Irish and my wife got the vegetarian breakfast. Service was great and Dave replaced some of the breakfast to suit my wife's taste. No issue what so ever. We felt very welcoming. The food was lovely also a big plus the dog house is dog friendly. Would seriously recommend it, it is a hidden gem in howth village just right beside the dart station.

UPDATED review on July 20: One star. I am fairly sure an employee stole my credit card information and sold it/booked two plane tickets in Indonesia with it. ORIGINAL review on July 18. Two stars. Quirky, down to earth setting but the service was abysmal and the food subpar. Waited 90 minutes for our order and watched people who were seated long after us get served well before us. Orders were forgotten. This was on a Monday, not a busy weekend or holiday. Bathrooms were a mess, too.

Now if you like quirky then you need to go here food is good and coffee too, we go every chance we get. The menu will make you smile with the names of the food. I like the pizza and you can build your own of the menu. The pictures may look like inside but it is outside, and it was not so hot on the day but they put on the heater and it soon warmed up.

The outdoor seating area was mostly empty (maybe 20% full), with no queue at the door, and they refused to seat us at any of the dozens of empty tables, only offering one at the front door. The bookings for the other tables were either not arriving for 20 min+ or were already 10+ minutes late, and they still would not seat us. After discussing with the host, another host came out and told us they would not serve drinks at all, only food (contrary to what the first host said). Horrible manners and customer service.

The nicest place ever, cozy, warm,French music playing on the background.Very nice menu and tasty food, will definitely come back for sea food. The decor is just like a museum,so many things to see...The only thing is the coffee. Not nice, very burnt taste, maybe it beans or maybe not the right grinding.Latte and americano wasn't nice.

After a long hike all over Howth I stopped by this very cool place! The decoration and atmosphere are nothing you can find anywhere else! The team is very kind and welcoming ! I had great chips alias French fries! Tasty not too salty and the spices were very well balanced ! Great place! I highly recommend The Dog House!

The atmosphere and decoration were fun and quirky. Its a unique style of restaurant that is semi in the open but warm and cosy. The food is not that great, the teas were good alongside the deserts. A lot of the dishes were dirty/stained or just simply broken which made eating from a bit questionable. Staff were friendly.

Magnificent! We stumbled on that place by accident. The tea was delicious and the staff friendly. We had almost the whole place for us to take instagram picture during our afternoon tea ☕ !!!

A unique place in Howth. Nice atmosphere, cozy and warm. But unfortunately, I noticed that the place wasn’t so clean. The sofa was too dirty, I couldn’t sit there. I had visited it on Saturday, so probably was busy earlier. I had a chocolate and my friend had a latte tea. We ordered scones, which were not fresh, which was the worst scone that I had in Dublin. But the caramel slice was delicious and they served with cream. Good prices. I would like to give it one more opportunity.

a cafe or restaurant that is unique. Each table is distinctive from the others, and the venue is lavishly adorned. On a couch or perhaps a bed, you can enjoy meals or a simple cup of coffee here. Friendliness and comfort like in a fairy tale. Both the service and the cuisine are excellent. Typical prices. really recommended if you go for a walk to howt.

Special place to go for a meal or just a drink. Very chilled and cosy interior with eye catching décor. Super friendly and helpful staff, the dog was made to feel at home too.. can't knock the food either. pizzas are recommended, burger was good also..✌️

Staff is extremely nice and food is absolutely delicious. Decor of this place is gonna make you stay longer, sink into very comfortable chair and chill with massive choice of teas. Definitely will be coming back!

The service was the best I've had in Ireland up until now. The food, Irish Breakfast and apple pie, was quickly prepared and very tasty. At first glance the place looks very eccentric and nice with all the different seating options you can choose from, although the serving area near the kitchen looks very untidy The only real downside to this place is the restrooms. They are very small, don't smell particularly nice.

Very good tea and Brownies! I think they need to clean up walls and make a little reparations. (Don't worry about dust, it's create feeling like you in witch abandoned house :-) )

This place in howth is right beside the train station . It’s super cosy with heaters and amazing outdoor seatings , they good a good chicken wings and I tried the veg pizza which was not the best but okish , some coffees to go if you don’t want to drink . But I love the ambiance and candle light dinner experience. It’s a pet friendly place .

Very cute place to stop at on a sunday afternoon. The wine was very good and the oysters were nice (however they weren't open perfectly). The atmosphere is great, they have heaters in the closed garden and overall it's just very cozy and cute.

Cozy, quirky and cute are the words I would use to describe this tea room which is right beside Howth station. Perfect for when you want to enjoy a nice, hot cup of tea from one of the MANY varieties of delicious teas they have.

Lovely food and atmosphere 👌 and waitress so nice as didn't have to let us in as booked for a funeral

Sitting outside is not for me. Food cold in less than 5 minutes. Had to ask for condiments. After we sat the server asked another couple would they like to sit inside... we had 2 kids with us so would've been nice to have that option especially since we had made a reservation. Honestly never again. Price too high for quality of food/experience we got

Had an amazing pizza here with asparagus, honey and balsamic. Seriously tasty. Very good wine too and a really delicious chocolate brownie. We sat inside and felt transported to another place - reminded me of tea rooms I visited when travelling in Laos. The outdoor area is something special - this is more than just a place to eat. If you want a bit of escapism - you'll feel it here. Very good customer service also.

👍 The Seafood Chowder was good but served by the main course + Mixed Shellfish Platter was good but, the mussels was okay so I'd suggest to order the prawns separately + Carlingford Oysters was okay but one just to test + White Fish Tenders was delicious

👍👍 Had an incredible time in Howth after hiking along the cliff sides and ended the day at this nice restaurant. It was somewhat busy but I was seated in less than 5 min. Excellent service especially from a nice gentleman named Colman. Had a nice steak with garlic butter and chips and a pint of Guinn...

👍 We didn’t go inside to the actual restaurant but visited their little seafood market which is right next to their restaurant. It was really great, all the produce was fresh and looked great and they had lots of different options and they even had a coffee shop and a bar inside. Prices are a bit high...
