The lamb main course was absolutely delicious. 2 of my fellow diners had the duck and they both found it too salty, we informed the waitress who was very nice and obliging and didn't charge us for 2 deserts. The desert menu was minimal but the choc pud was again, delicious. The portions are possibly a little on the small side and the front of house could be a little more friendly. Overall an enjoyable meal

Had the family here for Sunday lunch. Food was delicious and filling, something for everyone. Would like a little more choice in the dessert menu. Staff were lovely.

Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. From the moment we entered the service was exceptional. Customer service was outstanding. I was in a group of 6 adults and one child. We all had different choices from the dinner menu and everything tasted amazing. Definitely somewhere we would dine again. 👌🏻👌🏻

I like McHughs but have to admit our visit for Sunday lunch was disappointing this time. We were told when the booking was made that we would only have the table for an hour and 45 which would normally be fine. It took a long time for our order to be taken and an even longer time for delivery of both our starters and main. Wings are always good which I had for starter. Fish and chips for main was pretty average. So when it came to dessert we told there wasn't enough time for us to have dessert. Naturally we werent too happy when the service was so bad. We were going to push it but then decided we didn't want it anyway. I didn't want to stay any longer after that. Some of the group were disappointed to not get their dessert and the interaction with the staff on it was awkward. No real admittance that it was their fault. It was disappointing and I won't be going back in the near future.

Good food but not exactly what you would be very pleased with. limited menu but tasty enough with out being exceptional. I had fish special and last week I had Steak special. could do a little better with out a lot of effort.

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the restaurant. The ambience was pleasant. The lunch menu was excellent. However, it all turned sour at the last moment. The waitress had taken our dessert order, then out of nowhere, a person arrived whom I think was the manageress. She informed us quite abruptly that our time was almost up! That we could not have dessert nor coffee! That we had to vacate the table within a few minutes. It reminded me of parking a car and getting a ticket. However, we got an eviction order! We were all taken aback at the suddenness and the manner, with which we were asked, essentially to leave. At the beginning of the meal we were waiting for two guests. We informed the waiter and he indicated there was no problem. However little did we realise it would become a problem! It is my experience that many restaurants in Ireland when they become popular and busy begin to take their customers for granted, and ultimately treat them in a manner that is totally unacceptable as was the situation with us on Sunday

What a lovely place and dining experience, have never had a bad meal here, weather its a family dinner or dinner for two you get the same welcoming and warm experience! And don't get me started on how good steak Tuesday is!! ❤️

Was there last week, very nice meal, staff and speedy service for a table of seven. Chicken and mash with brocoli was very tasty indeed, only thing I'd want was a bit more chicken and for the sauce to have a bit more flavour. Cappuccino after was very well made too! It's often the simple things done well that one remembers. Top night👏🏼

This restaurant is a little gem , the menu might not be the biggest but the food sure makes up for it as it is absolutely delicious ,the staff are super friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant it’s self is spotless clean and the decor is nice too. The chef’s Madeira sauce is amazing , enjoy 😋

Pretty good. Went out with a few people. I got the fish and chips and I really liked it although could've had more tartar sauce. Friend got the beef burger, he said it was way too oniony and couldn't finish it. The chicken and parsnips looked good too. Service was nice. We sat beside the kitchen and they kept doing something with the lights, turning them on and off? Don't really know what was going on but it was a little annoying. Other than that, prices are good, staff are friendly, and food came fast.

Nice meal, I know they have to change and vary the menu, but this time I found it a bit limited for choice for me.. but what we had was good though.. will be going back..

Has been lovely when we’ve visited over the last 18 months or so. Prior to that they had managed to repeatedly serve us with cans of Diet Coke which were out-of-date, and once managed to give us mouldy bread, so I do tend to take a close look at anything they bring to our table before eating or drinking it.

Had a lovely lunch here yesterday, a little gem tucked away in the middle of a housing estate in Raheny, Dublin!. The occasion was a retirement gathering with 16 people altogether. We had a set menu, 2 options was €17 and 3 options for €20. I wasn't expecting much at such low prices, and there were 3 chooses from starters, mains and dessert. Boy was I wrong! Everyone had a different option from each course and all were very happy, each plate presented beautifully and tasting delicious!. Pate in sourdough, chicken wings or soup. Similar for mains- fish and chips which I had- beautiful white fish- tagliatelle with mushrooms or chicken with veg, each one nicer than the next. I opted out of dessert ( my mistake!) Also gorgeous. I will definitely be back!!

I really enjoyed this restaurant, it was cozy and the serving staff were very attentive. The food was good, I had a potato and leek soup to start which was the exact comfortable size for a starter for me. Two of the people I was with got the wings separately which were reported to be very tasty, but a rather large portion so maybe would work for splitting between two. My main was the fish dish of a filet of hake, which was excellent. I found the cream sauce was very tasty, there just wasn't necessarily enough of it for the fish and the mash potato. Great experience, prices were to be expected, approx 40 euro, for my dinner plus a cocktail.

Nice restaurant with excellent food. Steaks were tasty, and desserts were simple but full of flavour.

I recommend this restaurant for great value and family friendly dining. Of three courses I think the starter of spicy chicken wings and the chicken dinner were the strongest. They were able to offer gluten free options (but no gluten free bread). The restaurant is really lovely inside and the wine was really good. I did free like the staff taking payment lacked the normal courtesy of thanking a customer who was playing for 4 tables of dinners. Overall I will go back again.

Food was nice but portions were a bit small for the price. Great for families or groups but wouldn't call it intimate.

Quaint setting. So happy there was a table available without a reservation. Food and service was excellent. Gluten free choices.

Have dined at McHugh’s many many times over the years and I have never had a bad meal until last week, the 26th of August. We were a group of 5 and nobody had a nice meal. The sea bass was macerated, completely over cooked, burnt on the edges and very dry. The rib eye steaks were not cooked as ordered. We ordered them medium rare but were came very well done. The fish and chips was disappointing, well over cooked too, extremely dry and parts of the batter inedible. I didn’t complain on the night as it was my anniversary dinner and didn’t want to spoil the evening. I emailed the restaurant about my complaint over a week ago but have still to receive a reply, which is very disappointing after spending around €250 in their restaurant. If they did acknowledge the complaint I probably would not have left this review. On a positive note, the desserts were excellent and the waiters were extremely friendly and courteous, their service was probably the best part of the meal.

They have several menus on the go. Lunch, early bird or the Al a Carte. The food is always delicious. I love their chicken wings and Sunday roasts.

Great restaurant! Had the chicken wings with blue cheese dip to start and for the main I had their special which was chicken and wild mushroom tagliatelle in a rich creamy sauce. I couldn’t taste any blue cheese with the dip but the wings were pretty amazing. Very tangy and salty, it’s a really good starter. The main was very good. Very rich and satisfying. Ask for some white bread to mop up that cream at the end. Today they didn’t have white bread so I got some brown bread instead. Very nice staff, lovely ambience. The lunchtime price was really good for two courses (couldn’t fit in a dessert). I will definitely be coming back to eat those chicken wings again. Superb! Definitely try this place!
