I can't say enough about this place. Whether you are in the bar for food or having pizza out the back . . it's fantastic. Amazing food, great value for money, great Guinness and fantastic staff!

New lunch menu, tasty but pricey. Waited over 20 minutes for food to be served- too long to wait during lunch. Maybe it's due to new menu?

Really good 2 experiences over four day period. A function/ party was excellent with lovely friendly staff and delicious food served very efficiently to a large group of us. Breakfast on a different day. Fantastic. Well done to the chef and to the lovely staff.

Just had breakfast here this morning. What's happened? We eat here about once a month. It was not nice. Service excellent as usual. The food was very dry, the black and white pudding was inedible beans stone cold. Something has changed here. Change it back sooner rather than later.

Went to The Goat Bar & Grill in the evening during the week for some food with friends and I have to say I was really impressed. Very easy to access outside with car parking on site. Lots of different areas to sit & also included a covered beer garden section outside. Service was good, food & drinks was excellent and looked to have plenty of staff which meant we weren't left waiting. Would happily recommend food and drinks or evening socialising.

Very rude manager implied loudly that we "have to pay for drinks" when we had been offered a free drink with a steak by the waitress, as part of the "steak special", only to have this appear on our bill at the end. On one occasion a manager came out and was very confrontational, despite admitting eventually that the steak was overdone. I advise customers to be very clear and specific about what each person at the table wants, and double check the wait staff have understood, to avoid such confrontation and humiliation. This confusion was despite us only being a table of 4. Steak was ok at very best. Quite a lot of grizzle left on the bone. Not the best cut by a long shot. Starters were very good quality and massive portion size, though not enough to warrant a second visit. Very loud folk music started right bedside us shortly after we'd been seated. It was an honest attempt at quality but just a bit ham-fisted and intrusive. Definitely would not recommend.

We visited The Goat for a Sunday family brunch. It was our first time and overall the impression was good. Staff was friendly and service on average. The location had just reopen after covid closure and we appreciated the safety measures in place. The menu had a number of interesting items, we went for Mac ‘n cheese, fish & chips and a burger. Fish and chip was cooked to perfection, crispy and tasty. Burger was a bit overcooked and dry. Man ‘n cheese, unfortunately was very liquid and pasta was kinda floating in it, not very cheesy nor tasty.

As a foodie I love to eat in different places. Atmosphere was chill and easy, and the wait staff were great. There was nothing exceptional about the food here, in fact the combination items on the menu is a little weird. The soup was too salty, although the homemade bread was good. The fish and chips came with a small amount of tartar sauce and two pieces of bartered fish along with what can only be interpreted as the end of the bag of frozen fries - all small and overcooked. The double burger is too big for a normal sized person to get their teeth into it. Like it’s way too tall. The kicker though was the bread pudding, and I consider myself a bread pudding connoisseur having had it as a staple in both sweet and savory versions over the years. The brioche bread pudding here is literally 2 slices of bread, sitting in a bowl of custard with the only good thing on the plate being the blueberries and blackberry. If an establishment is going to put an Egon Ronay plaque on the outside wall they should have the decency to live up to its intent. Otherwise take it down, and don’t live in the past!

My wife and I ate breakdast there on a regular basis. Had breakfast there yesterday morning. 21 May 2022. Prices were recently increased by 22%, breakfast portion sizes have been reduced. I had the vegetarian option, requested no spinach, was told by waitress (dark haired) that it was a fixed menu and no change possible, first time a waiter refused us a simple request. Quality of bread served was poor. Very little bread served for three people. Re. the vegetarian option, only one small mushroom served and a miniature sized portion of beans. One of the waiters did say business was quite, understandable why. Not a very intelligent approach to customer retention. WON'T BE BACK.

It's an ok place.. Quite busy.. Plenty of space. Food looked nice although we didn't eat. Pint was 7.20 which seems on the high side. Sign of the times. :) Can't see myself going back. Nothing was bad just not very memorable and not much atmosphere really. Nice bear outside.

I have been here few times and not fully happy but today the food was fantastic, the service quick enough but, most of all, THE MUSIC from the 70s and 80s it the over the top thing!! From Elton John to the Eagles, of God the lunch was a pleasure!!! Keep it that way and I ll be there every week and I m sure many other people will love it too!!

Do not get PANCAKES, it was horrible!! Thin like paper, chewee like chewing gum, smelled like an egg, cold as ice and burned in one side. And yet they call it American style pancake 🥹

Really good food - the dessert was just perfect! Very nice live music, was a real performance. Only down point is the service. Once they get your food order, it’s hard to get anything else. Apart from that, a great experience. For the food and music I highly recommend.

Honestly hands down the worst pub dinner in Dublin. The prices are high 16.50 for 2 paper thin slices of meat with microwaved dry potato and cauliflower. I have never had a pub dinner as bad as this. Just do yourselves a favour and go literally anywhere else. I heard good things and was so disappointed (I live local and went twice to be certain it wasn't just a bad day). Save your money it's not worth it here. This is not fresh food. The head chef is a microwave. My mother ordered lasagne and was clearly just old food from freezer blasted in the microwave. This is very clearly a whole microwaved menu to save them money. Why spend your own money here when so many other places give fresh good quality food. They have no respect for you here and want to give you as little quality as possible for high prices. Place seems popular with the traveller community.

Passed by this evening, during covid19 lockdown. Like a different planet. Ice cream, pizzas and food on sale with crowds drinking beers nonchalantly in the car park. No social distancing in sight. Not a care in the world. Not sure if it was a private party, lots of cars and people in large groups. All this next to a big sign from The goat about ireland keeping apart!!! Looked just like a pub in the car park. Appalled at this practice during lockdown. Am a local. I will not return on principle after seeing this...really disappointed and annoyed.

  • 1/5 Paul 7 months ago on Google
We come here to have breakfast as its the only one that open early & served breakfast, got there, sat down straight away, but waited 15mins before they took our order, we order 2 Americano, 2 pancakes & eggs sourdough deluxe, after 10 mins placing the order, waiter come back, & informed as that only one pancake, & we said okay just give one pancakes to the kids & replaced the other one with the goat mini, & after a few more minutes they told as that there's no more pancakes at all🤦‍♂️, so we jus give up, then coffee & food come after 10mins, coffee tastes like filter coffee, not roasted coffee beans, & the food wasn't good, the poached eggs was rock solid, but atlist the panchetta was crispy the kid like it, & the mini goat, was to small for the price, I mean everything was I bit pricey for the food & service you will get, specially when there's looks like to manage on duties were just chatting to the bar & 1 waiter looking after 6tables on our side bless her she's trying her best. But overall we're not coming back here.

Generally a great bar, however tonight they were a little off. Servers were inattentive, and annoyingly a floor manager was running around apparently unable to do anything to remedy it. We ordered appetizers, and beer and a main around 8:00. The first waitress told us they “didn’t have any non-alcoholic except Heineken”. We’ve had other beers there before. Then another server came over later, because we didn’t get the beers we ordered. We asked again if they had N/A beer, and she said, “oh yeah, they have Erdinger.” And finally brought one over. Then after the mains were delivered, we didn’t see a server again until 9:01. We tried to order dessert, and they said “the kitchen just closed.” The server should have checked back earlier as we were finishing our meal (at least within the hour!). Nothing happened, and we had a bad experience because of this. Too rookie of staff, in proper training. They have also raised their prices. Good venue, good food, but everything else lacking this time.

Our first pub in Ireland and it did not disappoint! Fish and chips were great, the Roast beef was delicious and they have a kids menu!!! The look is really nice too, sporty vibe. Service was great and staff is friendly.

We just wanted a light lunch so we chose the soup which was leek and potato. Delicious and came with 2 little loaves of bread. Our server was friendly and very efficient. We saw at least 3 different eating areas so plenty of room plus a large car park. Ideal spot.

One of the chalke group pubs , a favourite of mine. Great pints with good atmosphere, great place to go have a few pints with friends or even if you want to get a meal. Good location for watching sport and live music also. Highly recommend

  • 1/5 Andrew H. 7 months ago on Google
Really disappointing. Asked them if they were showing a particular match on TV. They said yes so we came down early for lunch and when match was starting they said they were showing a different game. So basically happy to say "yes" to get us in the door, spend money but then didn't care that we were left not being able to watch the match we specifically requested.

Great gastro pub, lovely staff and a great atmosphere. It’s one of those places where you forget where you are in the city and soak up the atmosphere of the place itself. Live music on most weekends as well really adds to the environment. Saw the band Daft Pop there and loved every second.

This is a beautiful spot, the pub has plenty of historical information when you enter. We were here for a wake but will return here for a meal and a drink or two. They serve a beautiful latte and sandwiches. The staff are very friendly and obliging. There is plenty of parking along with a paddock full of goats. Really nice touch for the kids and animal lovers. We plan on returning here very soon.

Ate here with my family Christmas Eve, received menu with no prices, when we queried this we were told everything was between €16.5-€18.5. Food was just appalling, could not have been poorer, simple options like fish & chips inedible. Roast beef option like cardboard. Definitely would not recommend for food.

A classic local Dublin pub. Popped in for a pint of a Friday evening and the place was teaming with locals. Having moved away from there area straight after college, it's great to see local pubs like The Goat still thriving with local people socialising and enjoying a pint or a bite to eat. You don't get that in my "local" in London.

  • 4/5 David M. 5 years ago on Google
For an Irish pub experience, I guess this is pretty typical! We were lucky enough to get free entertainment from a bunch of lads (grown men) who’d been on the turps all day and decided to serenade us with hits from the 70s. Food was okay but not spectacular and the plates could do with a good scrubbing - came out a bit sclay and oily

Vegan sheperdless pie was pretty good. I expected basically a shepherds pie but without the meat. Instead I got a butternut squash topped dish full of tasty lentils and veg. The chips which came on the side were delicious. The double espresso after dinner was a bit expensive at €4. Good service all round.
