Great pub experience. It was recommended by two different local guides for providing a more local Dublin feel. Stop by the Temple Bar and get a picture, then come here for some local flavor. Great pint and great food. Anthony was a pleasure to speak with.

Thanks for my dear for taking me to there. I had a great chance to be in there. So nice and amazing pub. All guests look like that they know each other for a long time. One of the oldest pub in Dublin!

Great atmosphere. Authentic pub. Pint is fantastic. Food, delicious. Had the CiarΓ‘n Coddle and loved it. My family had meatballs, mac&cheese (sorry) and the Beef and Guinness stew. All of it divine, perfect for winter

Finally got to have a pint of Guinness in the Gravediggers as it is often cited that they have the best pint of the dark stuff this side of Dublin. As it was a Friday and there were two Dublin football derbies on, a lot of people were out and about, so it was a little difficult to get served as the pub was well busy. But I found a place easily enough beside the entrance, and got myself a nice pint of Guinness, and it was nice, delicious even..... Got into a nice chat with some locals and that was that. But on my way back from one of the games, I decided since I don't often come to this side of the world, why not venture in for a few more pints before bedtime. Result was more lovely pints, and more good conversations with locals. Good pints and good banter, isn't that what a true Irish pub is basically all about? Service was fine, atmosphere was good, and Yes the pints are what the people have said - GREAT! Just about got my plane early the next morning!!! Ha Recommended.

Delicious food (we had the coddle and beef stew) and great Guinness. Everyone was really friendly and cordial, our waitress was very nice and asked us genuine questions (we just moved to Dublin). Definitely coming back!

Lovely old school pub right on the gates of Glasnevin Cemetery / Botanic Gardens. Always wanted to go here and finally got the chance as we were staying nearby. Fantastic Guinness. Fantastic service (absolutely no messing about...talk about efficient!). Food is served in the Lounge, and it really was excellent with a great selection of tapas (which was shared between the 6 of us on the table) and i had the Coddle (it didn't look much, but man it was very tasty). The atmosphere in the whole place was superb...the kind of atmosphere that is unique to the old Irish pubs. This is one of the very best.

People weren't kidding when they said this was the best place to drink a pint. Super nice atmosphere, proper Irish! The waitresses were super friendly, made sure we had everything we needed and the tapas were delicious too! I recommend the Jalapeno Mac & Cheese!

Probably the best pint of Guinness in Dublin - it's there or Fallon's. Lovely atmosphere, great people who are up for a chat, old style pub with nooks and crannies galore and it's beside a beautiful gardens and graveyard that gave it the name. Superb, very accommodating staff. If you have a pint outside it feels like you're in a little housing estate, very peaceful. Loved every second of my September Sunday evening there.

What a legendary spot to drink a Guinness. Located next to the cemetery, there is this classic brown pub where they serve the best tasting Guinness in whole Ireland. People come from all over to sit on the curb to drink a pint. Also inside it a really classic vibe. A must see/drink.

We stopped by Gravediggers on our way out of town after hearing from our tour guide about it. The bartender was was nice, the atmosphere was friendly, and we enjoyed the stop off. After having sampled Guinness from one side of Ireland to the other, this made our top five (of soooo many) pints at number 3. Highly recommend!!

Tasty Soups and stews, plus lots of more not so commonly served foods you will see in every usual pub. Highly Recommend! Very friendly and fast Service in an old traditional pub.

My god the guinness here turned me into an alcoholic. In love. Food was amazing as well, but what else can I expect from a place endorsed by Bourdain.

A favourite of ours. Great atmosphere, great staff, and the food is stunning. Its always good to have a chef/owner. They put their heart into it. Well worth a visit. And the Guinness is creamy and always good.

Visited Kavanagh's in July on a very hot day whilst in Dublin for a gig. The bar is an old Irish pub famous for their Guinness. The food in their restaurant next door was lovely. Our waitress (forgot her name) was super friendly & great fun.

First time in Ireland, let alone Dublin, and probably found the best place for a pint of Guinness in the world. This pub takes you back in time... it's amazing. Thanks to the Guinness Guru for the recommendation and will definitely be visiting again one day

Visited on a Monday afternoon in November... Walked from Connolly station (25 mins approx) - WOW - absolutely worth the journey... The history behind this bar is fascinating and it's heartwarming to walk into an establishment that oozes soul in a way that the Gravediggers does. It's like stepping back in time, but in an authentic, non-forced way. Didn't get a chance to try the food, but the Guinness was amazing and the owner/staff were so accommodating. This was an all too brief visit, but I'll most certainly be back soon - highly recommended for the setting, the building, the people and the Guinness... Might just be my favorite yet.

Stepped off the plane at 9:30 am at Dublin Airport and went directly to The Gravediggers to have my first pint of real Guinness and it did not disappoint. This is an excellent pub situated right next Glasnevin Cemetery. Supposedly Rod Stewart dropped by for a pint the day before however don't let that stop you. Just joshing. I highly recommend this pub.

It was a great experience. The place is a real buzz. The staff can have a laugh with you even when it's really busy. The food is gorgeous, all tapas. Well worth a visit.

Best pint of Guinness in Dublin.. not a place for your head to be in a smart phone but instead a great place for conversations to be had.. the bar has all the character of a bar its age and is well worth the visit of in Glasnevin.

i regard this as the best pub in the world. (i have not been to every pub in the world tho - believe me - i am trying). staggeringly creamy Guinness, and delicious food, but the β€œje ne sais quoi” that sets it apart is the atmosphere and the peerless service.

Old quaint atmosphere. Authentic decor that’s old as the hills. Great pints too. Nice after a stroll in botanic gardens

Great Pub with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately my stew was rather bland and needed more seasoning.

One to visit before you die. What a Guinness, what bar staff, and what wonderful bar food. Not a bad word to say about this pub.
