Good food, nice staff, and fresh fish! Fish and chips is well done and at a great price.

Poor food experience here. Knowing that the owner runs all three major restaurants its not surprising. Asked for crab claws only instead of gambas. Said they couldn't. Then I found out why - 3 small crab claws. Explains the artificially high demand for Crabby Jo's. Seems this group has a specific strategy to create more demand in one place than the other based on their food offerings. Stinks of a monopoly in Howth! Pricing strategy seems to give value for money in one place only to retrieve it in another.

Our first visit here was last September this year, and the food were superb. So we decided to celebrate in advance our Christmas Lunch as restaurant gets busy this Christmas.Food cost is reasonable. We order crispy calamaries as starter, and main course, prawn pasta and breaded scampi with chips. The person who serves us is friendly and he initiate what we need in the table.I took a photo of a finished clean plate as everything is delicious with good ambiance of Christmas. We want to come here again for special occasion.

Mannnmm… this was a fish and chips done to perfection. The fish, the crust, the chips, the mushy peas, the tarter sauce. It was my 4th fish and ships in the last 8 days, hands down the best. Their cottage pie was great, and the service was excellent. I would certainly eat here again. Very convenient spot, right off the dart rail.

Lecker!

Loved the whole look and vibe. My fish and chips were the best I've had so far in Ireland! Perfect for a weekend lunch at howth on a beautiful day 👌

Perfect spot to end your hiking trail along the cliffs and through the hills of Howth. I recommend the oysters, they're super fresh. Lovely atmosphere and friendly service! Kudos to the staff, they have excellent working ethics! By the way, try the Irish coffee. Unlike another bar claims, this is the best Irish coffee in town.

Old Irish pub right on Howth station. Had to adjust my eyes when I went in as it’s very dark! Decent pint of Guinness, as well as Heineken and Rockshore lager on draught. €18 for 3 pints, so not too bad for Dublin. It’s literally right by Howth DART train station so very handy for a quick pint for before heading into Dublin. Food available and did seem busy with plenty of people eating in. Outdoor beer garden as well and probably a great space in the Summer, watching the world go by.

Really good fresh, crisp fish & chips at €13.95. They also give a nice serving with abundance of sauces. The portion can easily feed 2!

I came in this restaurant yesterday for lunch with my mom and sister for eating 3 seafood chowder and 2 portion of chips for lunch time. We asked some bread with butter before they could bring seafood chowder and 2 portions of chips 🍟 seafood chowder was really yummy and tasty 😋 but they let me pay 3€ for the bread who I asked, and I felt disappointed. I expressed my frustration and the waiter told me: unfortunately it’s like that. I have been living 8 years in Ireland and none never let me pay bread. Probably they thought we were tourists, but I’m not. I give 4 stars for this.

Food was great and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. Unfortunately they had one of the dirtiest toilets I've seen. Really let the place down....

Thank you for a wonderful afternoon! Was let down by a local restaurant, they were able to accommodate us! It was the first time since lockdown my friends group got to meet for food and a pint! Even the bothersome wasps (we sat outside) were not enough to spoil our afternoon.

A pub in the old style with plenty of atmosphere. Good friendly service with plenty of indoor and outdoor service. Underneath Howth Dart station and bus across the road so no problem getting there. Good selection of food and drink. Well worth a visit. Very busy during the Summer

We overall had a good experience here. Took a little bit of time to get our order but with that said it was a Sunday and we could see it was a bit busy. The bar tender was nice and engaged us in conversation while we waited.

Super convenient next door to the train station. Really friendly, far and efficient service - everyone seems to work well as a team. Oysters were huge. Fresh and wonderful with a great pico / cocktail type mix of onion/capers, etc. Fish and onion rings were both great. While the batter was crispy and crunchy but not too thick to cover the taste of everything, both the fish and onions were thick and dense. Very filling!

Wir haben die traditionellen fish and Chips bestellt und waren sehr zufrieden. Die Pommes perfekt der Fisch super paniert. Das Ambiente zwar Recht dunkel aber dennoch sehr ansprechend.

My favorite spot in Howth. It’s conveniently located right next to the DART station and is is great place to begin or end your journey to the cliffs. The food is great, service is good, and atmosphere is very authentic. I’d highly recommend the fish and chips, or any type of seafood they offer

Service need to be improved took forever for the bill to arrive we need to call twice from 2 different people. On the positive side the ingredients fresh taste with bite on the burger the cheese was soo gooey and stretch and just melt down in the right way burger seasoned well savioury and vegetables were on par will definitely recommend it and chips finely cut not too salty not too oily. Just as a chip needed to be served crisp and well salted, nd portion is exactly what you needed. , as for the onion rings needs IMPROVEMENT too oily barely season too bland in flavour either needed new recipe or taking completely off the menu, its that bad The price for the fizzy drinks not worth it. Its too small of a portion for the same price you can get a bigger bottle of anything else.

very good place, I recommend it to everyone, when I saw that the fries were not greasy, I knew that the food was excellent. The place has a fireplace and the atmosphere is perfect

Food was great. Servers were busy but they kept up well with the orders. Nice to see a menu with a few extra non seafood dishes. Yes I know I'm on the coast, but I appreciate the variety of items.

This is a great pub situated directly outside Howth rail station so very easy to get to. Went for the smoked salmon sandwich which was excellent, and a great beer selection too. The pub itself has plenty of outdoor seating, lovely and dark and moody inside with a proper pub fit out.

Typical Irish pub, little bit dark space bud comfy with fire place. Nice and friendly stuff, large selection of beers and tasty food (traditional and seafood).

Great food and drink . staff really good.and I liked the relaxed dress code of staff . could have a bit of banter with them too .not mad about compulsory service charge.so hope staff get the tips they deserve.we had 6 of us with a bill of 495 + more drinks .and to be honest we would have tipped more (as we all work in the industry) few sambuca from manager would have gone down as a thank you... 😁🤫(Works in Spain)😋
