Best one in Dublin so far! Picturesque and enchanting trail. Not too steep or strenuous. Wild spring flora along the path with grand views of the Dublin Bay, cliffs and lighthouse. Rocky view points on way, perfect for little breaks, to take in the view. Most of the cliff path is narrow but quite safe. Dog friendly, I believe, as we met quite a few during our walk. I would avoid wet days, as it could get muddy. Loop of 12km typically starts and ends at Howth Dart station, but there are little rough paths along Thormanby road on R105, where we parked and joined the loop.

A truly beautiful walk. Fantastic views - we saw dolphins and a seal, we had blazing sunshine, lightning, thunder and rain! There is free parking at the start of the loop, which is well sign posted all the way around, you do not need a map. You can kind of start anywhere in the town, but the toilets are a good place to start, since they have the map outside with all of the information. There are a few benches and a few places to stop and sit along the way. It's a LONG and HILLY walk, so be prepared. You will be tired at the end! If the weather is beautiful, there are some fabulous spots for swimming! Don't try and climb down to the barely inaccessible beach, there are plenty of accessible spots after this!

The Bog of Frogs Loop is the Purple walk road and is called the most difficult. It is very pleasant and of course you might have some hilly and challenging parts but very doable and views are astonishing! It is about 11km in total (maybe a bit more if you start from the train station and come back to this point. Paths are cleared and well indicated you don’t even need gps. I highly recommend it and some areas are more exposed to winds, make sure you have a windstopper jacket in your bag.

Beautiful hike along coast and through heart of Howth. Coastal path was very narrow in areas. There were a lot of thorns and thistles along the path. Path was also very rough with jagged rocks sticking up. Path was being worked on when it started to cut through peninsula. Cut through the golf course, which was pretty. Anyone wanting to aren't this, bring water and snacks. I really enjoyed it and would go again.

Very pleasant walk with some excellent views. Howth is a good place to visit too with lots of seafood restaurants and market stalls.

Howth is full of magical walks, and the Bog of Frogs loop might just be most enchanting. A challenging 12 kilometre walk full of views of the Lighthouse, the Cliffs, our golf courses, Dublin Bay, beaches and a very underrated part of Howth flora; our rich woodlands. Ascent: 240m Estimated Time: 2hrs 30mins – 3hrs 30mins Grade: Hard Terrain: Laneways, clifftop paths and hill tracks Minimum Gear: Walking boots, raingear, snack and fluid Theme: Coastal

I recommend it, but it's best to start from there 53.3729416, -6.0975834 it is a small parking, but you can also park in the nearby streets, the best way to go back is through the middle of Howth, there is a beautiful trail through the woods.

This was a great walk. Only fifteen minutes from my house. We got the dart out and began climbing. It was a cold wet day but the trail was so worth it. Breathtaking views await, myself and my friend walked for about three hours. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to walk this again on a sunny day.

Absolutely beautiful hike. Not too difficult, my mom and grandma went on the hike with me and neither of them had any trouble at all. We saw some wild life and a lighthouse, our ultimate destination was this cool little place called β€œtiny hidden beach” it was awesome.

Nice walking track with nice ocean views. I don't like heights so I would not want to walk here if the ground gets muddy, as you are walking pretty close to the cliffs at times.

Lovely spot for a different view of Dublin city, along with the lovely cliff walk 😍

Beautiful hike with some stunning vistas. Great escape from the hustle and bustle of Howth village and its tourism.

Lovely looped walk along the coast, challenging at times. Dog loved it, but keep them on the lead as you are walking cliffs at times. Be prepared for all weathers! Sun, wind, rain, warm then cold, all experienced a nice loop! Not for buggies Could do with cutting back some of the hedgegrow but that may have been due to season

Quite a hike with some searching for the posts with the arrows at some point, but the view and the experience is amazing. Definitely can recommend it

Lovely walk, tough ground in a few parts, but not to strenuous! (Age friendly parking x2 and disabled parking at start of walk) Tourist hotspot along cliffs but eased up at location #16.. make sure you catch the beautiful sunset! Bring your furry friends on a leash !

Started the walk from Howth DART station, it took nearly 3 to 4 hrs to complete the loop. Fantastic dublin bay view, scenic experience all the way. I chose purple walk which is a long route, but never tired. Not suitable for kids since the way is not fence protected and there are dangerous cliffs are there. Leeches are there is some area, so be careful when taking rests along the route.
