I am practicing with John and Suzanne over two years now and feeling so grateful for them being my teachers, and for passing on this beautiful knowledge and practice on me. I started yoga journey with them and always felt safe and supported which is of utmost importance to me. Morning classes with Suzanne are, at least for me, more playful, and afternoon classes with John are more meditative. Both of them encourage students to cultivate their own natural curiosity, authenticity and connection. If you are looking for a traditional Mysore ashtanga yoga classes and supporting, loving and community oriented shala in Dublin you are at the right place :) P.S. to not forget assistants and their lovely adjustments!

I wasn't a morning person until I started practicing Ashtanga Yoga with Suzanne and John. Now I'm on the mat early every morning before work and honestly, it is my favourite part of the day, no matter how dark or cold the mornings in Dublin are. Over the past two years, the shala became my home away from home and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who is interested in making yoga a part of their lives too. It's a safe place to learn, practice and progress and Suzanne and John are fantastic teachers who teach traditional Ashtanga yoga in the kindest and most honest way. You receive so much 1:1 attention because of the Mysore style setup (I used to do Vinyasa classes before and really missed that) and you never stop learning. Long story short, it's an amazing place and each day I love it more.

I have gone to a lot of yoga studios in Dublin and London but Suzanne and John’s Shala is my favourite. If you’re looking for yoga beyond ‘the gram’, their experienced and friendly approach to teaching Ashtanga is definitely worth trying. I was definitely intimidated by the idea of Mysore style practice before coming here but Suzanne really put me at ease in the beginning and gave me all of the personalised support I needed to build confidence, strength and flexibility 🤸‍♀️ Thanks for all of the early mornings Suzanne!

I started attending Ashtanga Yoga Shala in February 2022 and don't regret it one bit. A friend who lives away recommended this shala particularly and said the teachers are great, I know nothing about yoga but I totally agree with her now and for a number of reasons. Over the years I have tried a few studios in Dublin and iv noticed some differences in what works for me and what doesn't and what it distills down to for me is feeling welcomed and that any corrections are unique to my body on a particular day. The differences I would summarise as either a yoga studio ran by yoga teachers or yoga studio ran by business people. At the yoga shala, this is the first time iv ever known a yoga teachers name and they know mine. With the run by yoga teachers there is a genuine authenticity and community that iv quickly found here, it's fun, it's sincere and it's genuinely real. Suzanne & John in this shala look for ways to tailor individuals practice and offer a hugely supportive space that I really look forward to visiting. For the first time ever I am pretty sure I will maintain this yoga practice. It's a very real, lived, authentic and sincere experience. I would highly recommend giving this shala a go.

I signed up for the beginner-level Ashtanga yoga term last October. It was all online via Zoom. I had never done yoga before, aside from some simple yoga-based YouTube workouts, and I was a little unsure as to whether I would be able to learn much as a beginner in a virtual space. Any doubts were put aside in the very first class, where it was clear that our teacher, Suzanne, knew exactly what she was doing. She regularly offered individual advice to each participant in each class, and guided us in our own practice throughout every week. There was a lovely atmosphere in the class, thanks to Suzanne's leadership and expertise. The sequential nature of the lessons, where each week we built upon what we learned in the previous week, meant that the pace of the learning was refreshing without being too challenging. The customer service offered by Suzanne and John is superb. If you are new to yoga and would like to give it a go, I would not hesitate to recommend Ashtanga Yoga Shala Dublin. Their classes are a great investment for your body and mind. Thanks, guys :)

Suzanne and John have created such a great space to practice Ashtanga in the beautiful room on Fitzwilliam Street. Their Mysore classes are fantastic and I would recommend anyone, regardless of what they think their yoga ability, to head over and give it a try!

I started beginners Ashtanga Yoga during the 1st Lockdown of April 2020. It has been the best thing I ever started. It is tough and a really good form of exercise. I can't believe how quickly I seen progress in my flexibility. I am still taking part in the classes which take place twice a week. Suzanne and John are both amazing at how they run the class and the instructions and feedback they give during the class. I really look forward to the evening why I have yoga and I feel 100 times better after the class. I really can't recommend the class enough, if you are on the fence you should definitely give it a try, you won't regret it.

I have always wanted to give ashtanga yoga a start and in April 2020 the beginners course couldn't have come at a better time for me. John and Suzanne created a very warm and friendly environment that was hugely encouraging and in no way intimidating which I thoroughly appreciated, as I was definitely not the fittest! The online classes have kept me motivated throughout this pandemic and I am getting so much personal fulfillment from having this practice in my life. I would recommend everyone to give it a go!

I couldn't recommend Suzanne and John more. They have created a warm, welcoming yoga community in AYSD and are dedicated and knowledgeable teachers. The traditional Mysore style of teaching has really allowed me to explore my yoga practice much more deeply and Suzanne and John are always on hand to give keep me motivated. I'm so happy that I found such a great place to practice!
