Nice walk around the reservoir. There are two reservoirs tagged as lower and upper. It is a looped walk starting at one of the two car parks and going around the reservoirs. Mostly flat terrain, but steep climb at one spot while going to the upper reservoir. Nearest bus stop is near the Old bawn center or Old mill almost 3km away from start of the walk. Found a van selling coffee, ice cream and some treats. Not sure of the timings, but they accept both cash and cards. Could spot a few horses, sheep and deer grazing in the nearby areas. Did not see any toilets though!

Lovely loop walk, we parked at the free car park and walked following the path from there cutting left across the reservoir and looped around.( You can go straight and loop the other way if you prefer) A good portion of the walk is between fairly high hedges so visibility can be limited but there are spots to go down to the waters edge along the trail. Nice to see the deer and the reservoir and the absence of noise from traffic made it really peaceful, it rained the day we visited but it was still a lovely stroll. I forget we have these trails in Dublin, we will be back.

I was personally very happy with the loop walk. The entire loop ( The upper and lower reservoir) is about 9km. We can either try the regular path or we can try a few off beat paths. All paths r well marked. We can also do some berry plucking on the way. Kids will love it and a few good photo opps too.

Such a wonderful place to walk. The lower reservoir has a tarmac footpath which is perfect for wheelchairs and buggys, the upper reservoir is definitely the more picturesque one. Its a beautiful walk with mature trees flowers and water either side. I would recommend to walk the upper reservoir loop. Bring drinking water and food as there are countless places to stop and take a break as you go along. It is a long enough walk so be prepared for it to take anywhere from 1 - 2 hours, it seems a safe walking spot and there is no litter around. Really a gem of a place.

We went to the Lower reservoir. The car park is very small ( 10 cars). it's a lovely 5-minute walk to the lake. The upper reservoir is bigger, but the parking is a private farm. €5 enter, has a coffee van.

Little known, beautiful reservoir, just outside Dublin, where the Liffey and Dodder rise in the Dublin Mountains. About an 8-10 km walk if you do both reservoirs. Well worth it on a nice day. Not too many people.

A very nice walk to do there. Not hard and with beautiful views. There are some wild birds to watch living near the lakes, some sheep and cows on the way too. Close to the city and reachable from the center by bus + a little walk to reach the start of the hike parking.

It's honestly a very long flat walk (with only three small inclines) around the reservoir. Good for a mosey, but not a hike. I wish they'd put in lanes for covid distance as people still walking four and five wide, and not single file when passing 😭🙄

One of the hidden gems for a walk close to Dublin. Small coffee shop near the car park. Sufficient car park available (there's an other one up north)

Absolutely great location for a walk. The only issue is that people don't take their rubbish back.

Great spot for some trout fishing as many fly fishers were there the day I visited. Good for a small and easy hike around the area with nice weather. Only thing is no shelters so if the weather is bad you will want to be prepared.

Absolutely breathtaking views. Be prepared for a good walk all the same as it can go on for a good stretch. The car park is tiny so you may need to find alternative parking somewhere close by. There is a coffee truck and an ice cream truck but these may not always be there so just be prepared. There is also no toilet facilities but plenty of hidden spots if needs be 🙈.

Absolutely gorgeous spot for a walk and a picnic, loads of spaces to stop, but bring a blanket or something to sit on, cloudy day when there but still gorgeous, would be amazing in the sun
