A lovely walk in the heart of Wicklow Mountains. The Tonelagee Mountain is a very nice spot where you will enjoy a 360 view over the Wicklow Mountains and the valleys. The summit is located at 817m about 2 hours walk from the nearby car park (Glenmacnass River and Waterfall). The walk is very nice and recommended for anyone with a good willing to walk and engage in some offtrack as the trail is not constantly clear. Please note that rocks and steep slope is a constant towards the last section of the ascent with a heavy breeze coming up from the valley! Enjoy the sun! 🌞

Moderate hike with fantastic 360° views of the Wicklow mountains from the summit. Trails are not always very obvious so keep an eye on where you are going. I would not recommend doing this if there is cloud cover at the summit. Hiking boots are a must and be prepared for a change in weather as it can change very quickly.

No trail markings or directional posts, you just have to trust well beaten path ahead of you. Tough one, but well worth it.

Challenging but rewarding, it's a tough hike especially when you've a 10kg backpack with camping gear too. It doesn't take too long and the view from the top is stunning. There's also some wild? sheep and deers around the mountain. I would highly recommend a pair of waterproof hiking boots as it is quite boggy in parts. Perfect weekend hike 🏔️

Beautiful place! It can be a bit of a tough hike, particularly in poorer weather, so make sure you have proper hiking boots on and be weather prepared. The hike is worth it though, particularly from the higher point overlooking the lake on the south western side.

Cool lake. About 10km loop from the car park at the Glenmacnass waterfall. Very very very wet and boggy. Best in summer. Fog can come in here very quickly.

Heart shaped lough that is good for the heart to view on a clear day, moderate difficulty and well worth the climb. Worth spending time walking around the lough 💚👍

Fabulous walk up Tonelagee, on a clear day. The view if the lake is from the far side. Distant views of surrounding counties and the sea.
