It's amazing place views are wonderful, brilliant fantastic. You can have a long wonderful walk in the forest with waterfalls, Birds are singing. It is extremely calm and you feel relaxed. There is place for food that you can buy. You can bring your own food as there are separate tables surrounded with nature were you can eat. Just love this place.

What an amazing place. Great food, coffee trucks. Free to see the monastery and round tower (you pay €4 for parking) and can go inside the visitor centre for €5 to see an exhibition and video about different monasteries around Ireland. Great walk around the lake too.

A place full of history and beauty. Although it is very well visited you can find quiet moments in the churchyard and the remains of the monastery.

Beautiful and mythical place. Founded in the 6th century as a monastery. Several ruined churches can be seen here as well as the old graveyard. The round tower is one of the last remaining ones. The site can be a bit crowded with all the tour busses. So pick your time. There’s a visitor centre and toilets nearby. Also a restaurant. A nice starting point for hike trails as well.

Clearly a key heritage site amid beautiful surroundings. Limited information available at the site as visitor centre not open at present and only small information plaques at the historic site itself. Staff available, but we'd have welcomed the opportunity to have/buy a leaflet/booklet. Also, we weren't sure we could walk all the way to the Upper Lake area so we drive only to be told that we'd need to pay another 4Euros for the second car park location... So we moved on.

Lovely walk around the very old ruins, the 100 ft tower, the old cemetary and if you like hike to the lower lake and or the upper lake. There are also vendors and food trucks in several places. Bathroom facilities at entrance or if you eat at the hotel near entrance. Wear comfortable sturdy shoes for the terrain. Beautiful!

Glendalough is a beautiful place! We went with a tour from Dublin, which allowed us only 1,5 hours to explore. I would highly recommend driving here yourself so that you have a lot more time. The lakes and natural scenery is spectacular and the ruins are really interesting. Would suggest you bring an umbrella in case!

This is a lovely place and very popular. There are plenty of walks. The one we did took us off the beaten path but still on a well marked and well maintained trail. Completely worth the drive.

Steeped in history, there's a wealth of interesting things to see. As a tourist with no prior information on the area I would recommend doing some research about the history before visiting, will make it more outstanding that it's still there to see after all it's been through. Gravestones still readable from the 18th century was surprising too.

This looks like it once was quite a large cathedral. There are tombstones inside and there are multiple rooms. What is left of it is beautiful.

Amazing ruins for exploring, but remember part of this area is still a functional cemetery so try to keep kids respectful and quiet especially on Sundays when burials take place. Definitely check this area out when visiting the park and see the old sites

Great historical place to visit, especially in the sunshine. Relaxing and sad if you know what I mean.. Had also a tasty 99 outside in the street. Lovely..

Beautiful views. Old headstones dating back to early 1800's. The tower is 1000+ years old and still standing. Unbelievable history. There is an old church a little up the trails that states that all the old chieftains of the area are buried there. Really old headstones that were hand made in raw forms. Your next to a national park with great trails and walks up to water falls. There is families enjoying the beautiful area with picnics throughout the park. They have food trucks that serve good fast food. The hotel there has a little cafe. It's expensive and not that tasty. Food trucks taste better and are a lot cheaper. Learn from us. Save your money. We recommend this place.

Unforgettable, could visit everyday if I could. If you visit Ireland this is a must on your list. Naturally beautiful with untouched history!

Incredible ruins that are centuries old. The graveyard, the tower, the entire settlement are all just amazing to walk through and appreciate. Hard to believe it's real until you visit. Get outside of Dublin and walk around this area and you won't regret it.

We enjoyed our visit here and spent more time than expected! It was a beautiful day so after exploring the ruins we decided to do a few of the trails. We found the trail map a bit confusing and ended up on a much longer trail to the falls than we were hoping for but luckily it was still all beautiful scenery to enjoy. We were there on a Sunday in October and it was busy with tour buses, families and many cars but it never felt too crowded since there's so much space to share.

Very mystical place...beautiful old cemetery...place was founded around 6th century...situated in the Wicklow Mountains...superb ride with the motorbike. Start in Hollywood and just follow the scenic road over the pass down into the glen.

Truly amazing historical place. There's always a lot of people especially during the weekend, but it's a popular place so no surprise :)

A really beautiful spiritual place ideal for getting out of the city. The churches here are in ruins, but represent early christian life in Ireland. The monasteries here were destroyed many times. A place that endures

It's a historic monastic site, with ruins, graves, illustrations and a round tower to boot. If you like these things you will ducking love it. If you don't then it's a pointless trip.

1km from town, easy walking. We spent two nights there. Parking in the back not so easy to get out. Large rooms. I got bitten by something on my neck and arm that may not be mosquitoes the first night.

Mystical place! Bit touristically in combination with the nearby waterfall. But beautiful scenery’s.

An ancient monastic community in a beautiful valley. Forested walks, 2 lakes and plenty of wildlife to spot. Definitely worth a visit. Ample parking, but I suspect it gets jam packed.

The Abbey ruins are amazing I would probably skip walking up to the lakes they seemed kind of ordinary to me but.... I'm from a place with lots of Alpine lakes.

You will feel that you are in a movie if you already watched couple of the movies that were done here, in that place. You can see different crosses and sainte kezvin cross that you have to try to hug it. If you are able, you can make a wish. The view is nice there.
