Lads I honestly thought I was in the South of France in one of the French campsites 🙈amazing 👏 highly recommended for couples who fancy a night or two away in the Adults only area... or if you want to bring the entire family.. there is something there for everyone.. from disco picnics to go karts, to the fun train , tennis courts wildlife bird watching 👀... the river valley holiday park covered every area for all ages .. I will be back year after year !! Do yourself a favour and book a few nights away .. u won't be disappointed 😌.. showers spotless , bathrooms huge ! Fantastic restaurant around the corner... 10 /10 from us!! Travelled with my husband and dog 🐕.. also dogs are allowed in restaurant 🥳

First time in a holiday park with the kids (5+2). Stayed in a log cabin. It is what it is, a step up from a tent. Mattresses, kettle, microwave, fan heater. Could sleep 5. Clean and tidy, the amenity block is well kept too, always seemed to be a cleaner around them, although bring flip flops or similar for the showers. Plenty on site to keep the kids amused, 2 playgrounds, one old, one new. Sports hall for various activities, archery and a good Go-Kart area. A peddle track for the smaller ones where even the adults can partake with the smaller ones sat behind and a bigger electric track. Obviously a lot of money invested in this and the new buildings accompanying the tracks, with new paths and tarmacadam.... not cheap! Nice path/track around the site for a walk or run with a good climb to lift the heart rate around the fields housing the deer/sheep/pig/alpaca's, roughly 4km around the whole site. Only downside for us was the location of our cabins. All traffic going through the site passed us to get to the other plots and therefore was not easy to let the little ones play as you are constantly looking out for cars, bikes, electric scooters... maybe more speed ramps / traffic control needed. There is a curfew on the bikes and scooters at 10, which was welcome, but it did sour the weekend a little. Family of 4 for 3 nights €300, we stayed for two but purely for the poor weather, that's Ireland for you! No shop in the village as it has closed down, nearest is a petrol station approx 5 mins away, or for bigger stuff then Arklow is a 20 minute drive. Brittas Bay is also approx 20 mins away. Nice pub just on the main street, Mickey Finns, serving local brew, and a good restaurant which you would need to book with plenty of notice at peak times. Small chipper on the main street as well, which seems to do good trade right through the day. All in all, some of the site looks like it could do with a revamp, other parts are well invested in and new....would we come back, probably, but would stay elsewhere in the Park.

I was fairly satisfied with this place. But it did have its pros and cons. There are lots of good activities to do on-site. I wouldn't say things are extremely overpriced, but you will need to be prepared to spend a good bit of money if you want to do the activities. Although free kids play area is a good one. There is also loads of stuff to do in the surrounding area if you want to seek it out. The week we stayed, the weather was fairly bad. But we still were able to have a good time with all that was in offer. It just cost a bit more.

Initially we were happy with our stay, even though we were directed to the wrong part of the site. We booked the adult camping area for tents. The area we stayed was mostly caravans and camper vans. On our forth day a group of young people arrived and set up opposite us in a caravan. We arrived back to the site at around 9pm, during the evening this group got louder and began arguing and fighting. We hoped that they would quiet down by the 11pm curfew. Unfortunately this didn't happen. We asked them to be quiet as our (adult) daughter was trying to sleep. I eventually contacted security at 1.30am. We heard security talking down the group. Then a few minutes later someone began to walk around our tent with a torch. Needless to say this frightened us. We asked who was there, but got no response. My husband got up to look outside, there were four men in hi-vis jackets outside our tent. They apologised for disturbing us and ask to see our registration card. Apparently the noise makers said we had a child in our tent. The security insisted on seeing the card, they wouldn't take our word that our daughter was an adult. This was at 2am! The following morning l went to reception to find out what the situation was. I was told the group in the caravan would be asked to leave the site, however an hour later we were told they didn't make enough noise to warrant this. At this stage we had no choice but to pack up and go. We could not risk leaving our tent unattended (I heard one of the group say they'd 'love to look inside that tent') We were refunded the two nights we didn't stay. The management said they could not take sides, but if we were the ones who left the site, then I think it's obvious what clientele they prefer to have. I was told by another guest that these young people had been drinking all afternoon and then drove their car around the site. Because no one made a complaint about this to the management at the time, they wouldn't take it into consideration. Security didn't do their job, there's no presence around the site. We weren't the only people to leave the site because of the noise. The couple who were in the caravan next to this group also packed up and left first thing the following morning. Very disappointed with the way we were treated.

3rd year holidaying in the secret garden. Was there for a week Monday to Monday each time. It is the nicest Park we've ever been to. The showers and toilets are kept immaculate. They are cleaned many times every day. It is such a lovely place to just chill out or walk around the park or take part in the activities. Lovely food in the pub or takeaway or down in the event area. Looking forward to going back next summer already .

A really fabulous park with something for everyone ... Clean toilets, great showers, great areas to walk with our Little Dog. Fabulous playground areas for the kiddies and some fun things to do if you are so inclined - go karts, foot golf, etc and we met some really nice people on our walks as well ... Their animal park with the donkeys, llamas, goats seemed to be enjoyed by many families. The pub on the corner was a 2 minute walk from the pitches and served fabulous food Overall a really nice stay at a great facility! Picture below of our Little Dog meeting his first donkey!

We stayed at family area due to later curfew times (11pm). Stayed during weekend, late June and it was full with children. It was a bit loud during the day but it didn't bother us too much, it was very quiet after 11. There is places to walk around and few activities you can book and use. All amenities are very clean and camping park is very clean. Nearby restaurant/pub has excellent and good quality food available and there is a chipper as well.

Lovely site. Camped with our 11mon year old baby, tent site was quiet. Facilities were good. Lots to do on the site for older kids. One negative thing - we were there 3 nights (mon-thurs) and the toilets were cleaned once! (on the Thursday), and only the toilets wiped, sinks and floors not cleaned.

Sure what can I say, first time being back since the early 90's, this time with my young family. Facilities are great, endless entertainment for the kids, it's a very well run park. For such a busy spot the team running the place keep it spotless and they are spot on with the activities for young kids. Redcross is a pleasant little town, coffee shop/pizzaria/pub/brewery, what more do ya need for a few days away from it all! Definitely going to make this a regular get away spot.

We stayed for the weekend. We were lucky with warm weather. We stayed in the kookohut. Nice size for 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 8. It had a small fridge, kettle and microwave. Remember when bringing your bed sheets bring bigger than double size as we brought double and they would not fit.. Too small. It should state the size of bed linen on the website. Alot of cobwebs in the hut, outside was surrounded by nettles and the decking had a big rotten hole in the middle. Soft in patches, so didn't feel safe walking on parts of it. Not great for two young children. It needs a bit more maintenance. The campsite itself is nice although dated in areas. Kids were happy with the animals and playground and crazy golf. Handy having the shop across the road and resturant and takeaways in walking distance.

Great place for families but if you want piece and quiet find a smaller site. Very clean all round toilets shower's very clean. €39 per night with electric hookup for a tent 2 adults+ token for everything. Far to expensive in my opinion. But a cheep holiday for a family with young children.

Stayed here for week at end of August 23. Good Central location. 👍 shop across the way from entrance, restaurant. Lovely walks round the park. Showers well priced however they are very dated and not clean. Arrived on a Sunday and by Thursday evening the showers still had not been cleaned..same white talc foot prints since Sunday. 😬 and if u have girls afraid of spiders or anything that basically crawls these toilets are not for you. Lots of activities for kids as advertised which was main reason we choose this park....but apart from play park and splash pad nothing is free to use and activities over priced. Bracelet making was a complete let down. And to finish of our hoilday our daughters scooter was stole outside play park which reception wasn't surprised by, it will turn up...it did turn up...dumped in pond beside playpark🧐

We stayed in the adult only secret garden, what a lovely space. They take the curfew very seriously which is great so it means everyone has a good nights sleep. Plenty of ehu points in the garden too. Toilets/shower rooms and campers kitchen all very clean. Will 100% be coming here again. The pub at the edge of the site sells lovely craft beers and food is very tasty & reasonably priced! There is lots to do on site, mainly for children.

Really pretty, huge site! Bathrooms were super clean, didn’t use shower facilities but they looked clean also! Great location with plenty of activities to offer - Mickey Finn’s pub right outside, as is Omnaill Rua’s and a small local shop. There are also plenty of food and craft opportunities within the small village and it was lovely to see all of the community support within Redcross. The gentleman at reception was really helpful and pleasant to deal with. We paid €35 p/n for two people and one tent, even though the price online said €27, so it was a bit misleading. Also just a side note: I know it was a busy season, but the Secret Garden was a tad bit grubby. There was an old dirty towel, dog toy, abandoned gazebo poles and even a broken sandwich maker strewn around. I know this isn’t entirely on the part of the owner’s and is in part caused by people’s disrespect - but there should be a stricter policy for campers to clean up after themselves and to leave no trace. We also woke up to a fresh dog poo beside our tent, and seeing as no pitchers in the Secret Garden had a dog with them, it presumably came from another part of the site where the owner was allowing their dog to roam free and not cleaning up after them (breaking the rules regarding dogs as set out on the site) I don’t mean this to sound like a negative review - it’s not, and the gentleman who we dealt with was very amicable and helpful! I just felt that the price we paid wasn’t necessarily reflected in the rubbish we had to sleep beside and the dog poo right beside our tent which greeted us first thing in the morning. If you have campsite rules - enforce them and hold people accountable if they break them. I would return but would like more transparency in the price and more accountability for people essentially dumping on the site as it took away from our experience a little bit.

A very well established young family touring caravan and campsite! Great quiet-time control after 10.00pm. There is a large, well looked after dedicated 'Adults only Area' away from the hassle and bustle, as well as a good mix of Glamping lodges, and owners 40ft Statics. Its a no-brainer if you do want to sit with friends and 'let the children off free to fund their fun! Lots to do here for children of all ages. Donkeys, goats, wild deer, excellent go-karts brand new excellent playparks. The owners really re-invest time and money in their product here and it, shows! Keep up the great work, it's much appreciated!

Excellent place the lodge houses are just fabulous so well laid out. The campsite is do well kept and all is silent by 23:00pm There isnt that much to for 12years + but for the younger ones its a great place. Staff are lovely and the chicken wings in micky Finns pub are the best.

Great location where don't have to go anywhere if don't want to. Plenty to do onsite and great cafe, shop and pub in the village also. The campsite has great cafe on site too and pizza place over the summer.

Stayed in one of the glampotel. They were fab, much more than we expected. Very spacious and clean. Park itself was wonderful. Plenty facilities and amenities. Bar at entrance was very friendly and food was good. Nice takeaway also at entrance, food very tasty, some staff though need to take a chill pill, very rude and abrupt.

Glamphotel @ river valley.....Pleasantly surprised, the pictures didn't do it justice. High spec finish, spotlessly clean. Each of our 3 kids had their own room with single bed and closet space. Only downside was lack of cooking facilities but we managed. River valley itself, well laid out, well maintained, 2 playgrounds, tennis courts, archery, pedal go kart and electric, animals and forest walks, saw pool cues in shop but no info about tables, pub on site.

Great spot for a family get away whether you choose to camp or glamp. We stayed in one of the glamp Hotel units. These are absolutely beautiful to stay in with all mod cons, bedrooms sleep 5 (3 single and 1 double room). Small kitchen consisting of a kettle, toaster microwave and fridge. Really well thought out interior, with the bedrooms upstairs resembling bedrooms from the hobbit. Very comfortable to stay here. Note, there is no WiFi on site except at reception. The site has everything needed for activities, mini golf, Foot Golf, pedal carts, electric carts, archery, air soft, parks, small farm to name a few. Good food and drink right at the entrance to the park at Mickey Finns bar and bistro (they brew their own beers and ales) for you to try out. I tried the Halles Munich lager which was excellent 👍👍 as well as the food. Definitely worth a stay here if in Ireland. Also the site is close to Brittas Bay beach which is worth a visit, if visiting you'll have to pay €4 for parking whether you are visiting the north or south beach.

My family and I are just home after a 4 night stay in river valley. I have to say we had a fantastic time. The kids loved the activities one of their favourites was the family bingo and magic show aswell as thr go karts! My husband and I really appreciated the strict rules surrounding no noise after 11 as it meant we could all get some sleep without being kept awake by loud partying etc. We found the facilities spotless and very user friendly. The park itself is really well kept and clean. I have given a 4 star rating because I felt the family entertainment was a good distance from the family ccamping area and as my husband has health issues the walk was a bit much on some occasions so would be better if the family entertainment area was a bit closer. However this does not mean we won't be back because we most certainly will!
