Annestown
beach
is
a
one
of
the
better
locations
on
the
Copper
Coast
for
safe
family
swimming
at
all
tides.
There
are
no
currents
or
strong
tidal
pull,
and
the
beach
is
shallow
below
high
tide.
There
are
mixed
sand
and
reef
stretches
but
nothing
particularly
obstructive.
More
car
parking
than
anywhere
else
on
the
Copper
Coast
except
Bunmahon.
The
cliff
to
the
east
side
should
be
avoided
as
I
have
seen
it
retreat
almost
10
metres
from
collapses
over
the
past
two
decades.
The
cliff
walk
to
the
west
(village
side)
is
safe
though
not
once
you
reach
the
far
west
end
of
it
and
give
a
good
view
of
the
"middle"
stretch
of
the
coast
from
Dunabrattin
Head
to
west
Kilfarassey.
