Just a plain wonderful beach. Picks up the southern swell really well and is just a pleasure to see in the morning

This gorgeous spot on the Copper Coast feels amazingly remote for how popular it is. Lots of exploration to be done here, with stunning views of the ocean.

There is a short cliff walk from Annestown beach to Benvoy beach. While it's short it is definitely worth to see especially in a good sunny weather. Just take a look at my photos and you'll see why.

The cliffs on this beach is shaped by the explosive volcanos and tectonic drifts. The rocks on the left side of the beach is made by a submarine volcano 460 million years ago. The landscape here also worth a visit. The building in the car park is a lime kiln, which is also nice.

This beach is quite rocky so definitely not a great place for running but if you're into some mild surfing or you want to have a picnic with amazing views, this would be a great place to do just that. You can set up tents on top of those hills like what some people do or you can just spread a towel or blanket on the smoother surfaces when the tide isn't that high.

Beautiful beach. Lots of space for a picnic along the side of the beach. Cliffs are beautiful and you can go for a cliff walk enjoying stunning views. Beware that there is no rails on the edge of the cliffs. Free parking available. Not very crowded. A gem along the copper coast.

This secluded beach is a great spot for families, surfers and swimmers to enjoy without too many people. Awarded the Green Coast Award for its excellence in water quality and high environmental standards. At low tide the strand comes to life with sea arches, islands and wildlife. Other times, large swells and waves bring out the surfers. Not many people when we were there. The car park at the eastern end of the beach has an old “Lime Kiln” which you can explore.

A wonderful beach, only about 600m long and very stony but I recommend starting the Anne Valley Walk from this location. About 10km from here to Dunhill and back. It should take you 2h 30 mins unless you happen to stop off at the Happy Grind coffee kiosk in Dunhill (only open in select periods and weekends only). Great walk. Great scenery along the way. Look out for the otters.

Amazing spot to stop and explore. There is a cliff path that shouldn’t be missed. Plenty of parking.

Annestown beach is a one of the better locations on the Copper Coast for safe family swimming at all tides. There are no currents or strong tidal pull, and the beach is shallow below high tide. There are mixed sand and reef stretches but nothing particularly obstructive. More car parking than anywhere else on the Copper Coast except Bunmahon. The cliff to the east side should be avoided as I have seen it retreat almost 10 metres from collapses over the past two decades. The cliff walk to the west (village side) is safe though not once you reach the far west end of it and give a good view of the "middle" stretch of the coast from Dunabrattin Head to west Kilfarassey.

Lovely quiet and clean spot, just how a beach should be!

A great beach for a swim, the stones can be hard to walk over but once on the sand it's a great spot thankfully it wasn't too busy on the day we were there but well worth the trip.

Still unspoiled and peaceful. Hasn't changed in 50 years! Clean, quiet beach and safe to swim. No shops, just a kiosk which is open at weekends. There's also a lovely walk from Annestown to Dunhill or vice versa!
