Night club staff are Rude and unfriendly and unaccomidating. We in the queue room to get our jackets back. We showed our tickets and she refused to return our coats. Until we told security not the first time we've had a bad experience in this. Would recommend any other nightclub.

Honestly my first time in The Academy to see one of my favourite DJs / Producers, PORTER ROBINSON πŸ™Œ Must say the night is one I will never forget for all the right reasons! ✨ Staff were very friendly and super helpful! πŸ₯° Everyone in attendance had such positive energy throughout the gig! 🎧 Would highly recommend!

A classic venue with lovely staff and a great stage. The sound quality is excellent and you can always hear each instrument at a comfortable level, without fear of tinnitus! Drinks are pricey, but it's to be expected in Dublin.

I can't believe this is considered the biggest club in Dublin... The music couldn't be worse and the man who was reading everyone's vaccination certificates was really rude and xenophobic towards me. I asked for a glass of water and they gave me some weird grey liquid... There aren't enough seats in the club and the music is so loud that it hurts. In my opinion non alcoholic drinks should be free since they charge you 5 EURO for a beer...

Overdue first time in The Academy last night for Pale Waves. A nice intimate venue with good sound and a solid house lighting rig. The gig was over 14s so they restricted alcohol to just upstairs which was slightly annoying but understandable. Another slightly annoying thing is the short set times because The Academy run club nights starting at 11pm so they need to change over the room. Overall a great gig and I'm looking forward to going to more gigs here.

Came here for a Porter Robinson gig. On the whole we were delighted with the experience. Bouncers were efficient and made the long queue go quickly. Bar prices were high but that was expected. Was able to sit upstairs and enjoy the performance in a bit more of a relaxing setting. The main floor was popping off, everyone had a great time! Thank you!

Great venue, feels more personal when attending an event as you get to be quite close to the performers. Only downside, gotta check the seats for chewing gums peeps. Unfortunately some guests there still do not understand the difference between a venue and a barn :(

door staff don't know the run of the place or the rules of each show. have been pulled aside at multiple shows now despite following the show rules. obviously staff are new & don't know how the venue works. not to mention there was no floor staff near the stage, no water being handed out to people even though it was a sold out show. good venue for shows but security ruins it

great songs and nice people. some of the workers are so rude and wouldnt let my boyfriend get my handbag despite him having the ticket. they closed the show an hour early and made us wait out in the rain for the other people we came with. also drinks aren't the price they advertise. much darer.

never coming back to this venue. Scruffy looking lad behind the bar with short dark hair and ear rings overcharging for drinks when paying cash. Not gonna fight anyone over a few quid, but I'd say its a nice chunk of change at the end of the night.

First visit and no doubt I will be back, very central location and nice venue. I was delighted to see they had a cloak room.

My young lad left his jacket being in error the other night. Contacted club (Dom) to see if it could be found. He was really extremely helpful and the jacket was located... Great staff.. 10/10

Nice club. Dj plays mostly on weekdays as well. Only con is that they charge you for keeping your coats, which is totally nonsense.

The music is amazing, but they should really work on the security staf. They are obviously drinking and drunk, their judgements is not rational. I was asked to leave the premises while I was standing in queue for the bathrooms. I would not recommend this place because of the security team they employ. Every other place in Dublin has high standards regarding the security team they employ except this place. Staf is rude and xenophobic, I would NOT recommend this place.

First time going to the Academy last night to see Jeremy Loops. Fab venue with great sound. Could do with some air conditioning inside but I guess that's par for the course of having a ton of people in one place. The queue for the bar and bathrooms were long (as expected). Great vibe and easy parking available nearby (albeit expensive).

The Academy provides very close proximity to the performers, all you need is there: cloakroom, drinks, music etc. The hall can get very warm though, as it feels a bit like a bunker with not modern day ventilation. Drinks are served in glasses, which is a big plus I think at concerts. Overall would recommend the place, also security was friendly and organization was in general very good.

Love this place. The Academy will always be a staple of my youth. All of the concerts and discos. Great Atmosphere and staff. One of the best places for concerts there isn't a bad seat, everyone gets a great view of the act.

The Academy is a great venue for live music as far as sound and layout of the stage and audience areas go. The staff are always approachable and there are always plenty behind the bar so getting a drink is easy. Unfortunately I was unable to purchase a drink after 10:15pm as the bar closed and once the band finished their set we had to leave to make way for the next event. It is just a pity that you are made to feel a little unwelcome after a certain time as there are other events happening.

Came here for my first gig (Perturbator and Health) after starting to use a walking frame. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, polite, and attentive. I am really blown away by how kind they were. They made sure that staff were aware of my needs and how to assist me. I really can't recommend them highly enough, and I hope more venues will be as accommodating and kind to disabled guests.

The staff were good and the concert was great. However there were almost NO covid precautions in place. Staff are supposed to check for lateral flow tests or proof of vaccination etc but they did absolutely nothing which I thought was quite bad. As well as this, the staff did not care about people not wearing masks, and many of the staff weren't wearing masks either. Going to concerts here will definitely increase ur risk of getting covid so if you're wary of that then be careful. I was really quite upset by this because it was said that The Academy were being as careful as possible, but they obviously weren't.

Good club and too much rush. You have to plan before. Collect your belongings while leaving or it very difficult to get it back. Even though you put it in the wardrobe locker. Drinks rate are little bit higher.

Great venue for music, but queue for the bar was too long. Possibly due to COVID restrictions on staff numbers maybe.

Lively club, good music and not too packed as they have a basement, a ground floor, and an upstairs dance room. Drinks are absurdly expensive, though that is expected at a club. Would recommend arriving early and leaving early.

Pretty cool venue! Not sure if I only managed to spot on toilet entrance but the congestion post show was chaotic. The entrance to the toilet is right next to the exit so the amount if people flooding in one direction could be potentially hazardous but other than that the venue is great for a small crowd show

Terrible service from the bar staff. One particular staff member who had a tattoo on their neck, served me my pint, which he spilled an amount on my hand. No apology was given either just a demand for payment. A powerful smell of weed cane from him as well as he made his demands. Won’t be returning again. Terrible service and venue letting staff serve drinks while visibly high.

It was brilliant, lovely place to see your favourite band. Only one problem was blonde girl doing security was rushing people out of venue, could cause a serious accident doing so. Needs to update staff on training, if the was a fire would of be bad. But other rise it was good, but people's safety is important.

Had a really great night at Lukas Nelson and TPOTR. Lukas is a very talented young man with his somewhat familiar voice and his superb guitar work. Surrounded by equally talented band members. The venue was equal to the event. Bar staff good.

I have seen a lot of venues in different countries, rude bouncers and unfriendly staff, but at least with a punk attitude. This place is ridiculous. It was not even 1 minute after the last song was over that I was told that the bar was closed and not even 5 minutes after the last song ended that the security shouted to leave. During the concert every little bit of beer that was spilt was immediately cleaned away and the staff did not act in general like people in a music venue than rather posh college students.
