This is a hidden gem in Dublin. It’s a combination museum, great photography bookstore, and dark room. The day I went it had a great exhibit of photography by an Irish born photographer named Trish Morrissey. The exhibit space is relatively small, and easily digestible in about an hour. The museum has an amazing bookstore with photography books the cover both Irish photographers and some of the other international greats. If you are a photographer, or a fan of the history photography, you do not miss this museum. And, it’s free, or you can make a small donation, and support its work.

Have been many times when I lived in Ireland and still visit when I am over, very nice building and laid out well. One of the best exhibitions was in 1993 about day to day life in India in an old Victorian house around the corner from their current home it was only getting build at the time. The next exhibition was the late great Robert Mapplethorpe. the gallery had to cover the large window because of this work, it might be a bit too much for some.

Very small museum held over three floors. Elevator available along with stairs. Free entry and shop on the bottom floor. Can get through it very quickly, and can get crammed easily with few people

I had a brilliant day at the Gallery of Photography Ireland! Darragh took me through the whole process of darkroom printing in a private workshop, then he supervised as I began to make and develop my own prints! I started the day with no previous printing experience at all, and I left feeling confident to use a darkroom by myself and excited to experiment further with printing. If you are wanting to "demystify" the darkroom and hone your skills in analogue processes, I would highly recommend the Gallery of Photography Ireland courses!

A must-visit for photography lovers. I have enjoyed an interesting and well curated exhibition of contemporary Irish photography. The bookshop at the entrance is also impressive.

In a small but dramatic and imposing building, this free exhibition space is excellent and deserves an hour or two. The exhibitions can be hit and miss and maybe the curating needs some work but it's a rewarding visit. The ground-floor bookshop has a very very good selection of photography books although not as many books by Irish photographers as might be expected.

Just completed Darkroom workshop with Darragh. Really great learning experience. Darragh is patient, helpful and very willing to share his expertise. Left with prints of my own that I developed and enlarged myself - delighted.

Photography Gallery on a quite square in Temple Bar. Entrance leads into the Shop with exhibition space upstairs. Went for the exhibition to mark the 30th anniversary of the Gay Community News magazine. Was wonderful to get a sense of Irish gay history through the years and highlights the gallerys commitment to support the vibrant artistic community in Dublin and Ireland

A+++ We had an amazing tour of the Photo Museum led by Darragh. He was brilliant with the kids in our group, keeping them all engaged (which is no easy feat) and everyone - young and old - left knowing more than when they came in, AND with a newly awakened interest in-, and love for photography. We will be back! Thank you Darragh, this has been one of the best museum tours of our year. (And we've had many!)

Vielleicht hat mich die Ausstellung nicht abgeholt. Ich weiss aber das Fotografie mehr kann. Vielleicht bei einer anderen Show. Die Räume und die Präsentation sind immer gut

I think this is exhibit dependent, but I was not impressed by the exhibit we saw. For a free museum, it was nice. I wish we had seen a different exhibit or that there was more than 1 showing at a time.

What a gem of a gallery! A thought-provoking and intimate exhibition of Thirties portraits and landscapes... with the added treat of a seriously well-stocked shop (bought a Lomo Sprocket Rocket and some film). Friendly staff, too!

This Photography Gallery near the Temple Bar area has a shop with many types of photography books/ courses along with a small exposition in the upstairs area that is always changing. The entry is free, and usually the tour around it is fast (+ - 30 minutes, but it can change depending of the current exposition).

The gallery has regular interesting and insightful exhibitions to give the students inspiration for their photography. Overall fantastic experience.
