We had a wonderful visit to the maritime museum yesterday. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. Sadly, we forgot to get the name of the lovely staff member whom acted as our guide around the museum . He couldn't have been more helpful, and we would have loved to give him a personal mention as he made our visit. He was very informative and more than happy to answer all of our questions. For anyone visiting Arklow, or passing through like us, the maritime museum is well worth the visit; we would highly recommend it.

Just finished a great visit of the Arklow Maritime Museum. Lots of interesting artifacts on display. The staff even provided a personal tour! If you have an interest in boats, ships and history, it’s worth visiting.

The Arklow Maritime museum is small, but packed with loads of history and wonderful stories, all shared by a Museum Host. We were lucky to have Brian as our host - he provided loads of information and laughter!

Travelled from Limerick today with my father to the Arklow Maritime Museum to check out the JT&S which my father had worked on over 50 years ago. Fantastic day! The staff were most helpful and delighted to be able to share their knowledge regarding local maritime history and certainly couldn't do more to find relevant information and photos for my father. It was an emotional and rewarding day. The museum is full of memorabilia, fantastic models, photos and information - an absolute treasure trove. Easy access too for those who maybe less mobile. Thank you for a memorable day!

Small but brilliant museum with very dedicated staff. Learnt a lot, not only about Arklow's maritime relations but also about the town's history, involvement and development in general.

Spent a great day in Arklow yesterday, the highlight of which was Arklow Maritime Museum. What it says on the tin, plus I especially loved the Arklow Ganseys and Arklow pottery also on display. All of the staff were utterly committed to the museum and were so knowlegdeble and helpful.

An excellent visit to a delightful and comprehensive (yet manageable!) museum. Thanks ever so much! What ship did your large bronze propeller at the entryway come from again?

My wife and I visited the Arklow Maritime Museum a few Sundays ago. We were the only visitors for the hour or more we were there. We got a guided tour by the very interesting local man on duty which made it very enjoyable. I plan to visit it again soon with my 9 year old Grandson. We both used live in Arklow but have been living in Wexford for the past thirty five years. A great display and informative exhibition. Denis and Deirdre O Sullivan, Enniscorthy. Co Wexford.

Great museum. Mainly static exhibits with text displays with back history. Curator of the day, that we were there, was very friendly and informative. Built into shopping center building, so handy for a coffee etc afterwards too.

Visited today to escape the mountains' wrath - rain and hail in June! Brian showed us a 15 minute film and then introduced us with great enthusiasm to his favourite sections of the exhibit. The Dundonald survivors story, the history of sailboats at Arklow port and the whodunnit about the sinking of the Lusitania. Fascinating, informative and very well worth a visit. Thank you Brian & the Arklow Maritime Museum x.

Nice display of material focused on the maritime past of the area, but also the industrial heritage of Kynoch.

🫤 They say there's a little man who lives inside and swims across the river every night to eat the fishing scraps. My great great grandnanny is said to have seen the inside of the tower if you catch my driftwood. One of the towns many legends ☺️. Hard to find parking. 2 stars
