Answering for my dog really. We live in Mayo but when we occasionally visit Dublin, she absolutely loves and reminds me constantly to take her to the two adjoined Dodder Parks. She first saw squirrels in the middle of this park at least five years ago. I could not get her to leave. She remembers the exact spot despite the year or more it might have been since she was last there, and she stands up at the bottom of the trees gazing upwards in hope they'll still be there. As for the river, that is just bliss altogether no matter what month it is. These parks are dog owners heavens. My lady welcomes all dogs and people she meets here as if they were old friends! Dodder and Dartry Parks are our definite top attractions to visit in Dublin (as I am no fan of visiting the city).

A walk from Bushy Park taking the riverside path by the lovely Dartry Park to O'Sheas Pub in Clonskeagh. Walk across the bridge and retrace your steps on the other side of the river ( The Dodder) back through Dartry Park to Bushy, it's magical. Kingfishers, Herons, Foxes, Trout, Weirs, away from the Madding Crowd and smack bang in the heart of Dublin. About 6ish kilometres.

Quite huge, soothing and peaceful. I didn't know it was there until we randomly walked in. There are no signs for the park.

Beautiful park perfect for sunday afternoon walk. It's usually not too crowded and the whole walk is along the river Dodder which is really a beautiful gem not too far from city centre. The neighborhood is also really nice and people living here are community oriented and it's not unusual to see people caring about their parks and green meadows collecting rubbish. It is also a park where people come with their dogs, so better be prepared to be surrounded with furry friends.

Dartry Park, an expansive haven enriched with a soccer pitch, seamlessly integrates into the enchanting Dodder Greenway, where the gentle flow of the River Dodder weaves its natural charm. Within this picturesque setting, the park orchestrates a harmonious balance between recreation and closure logistics. This verdant expanse, cherished for its lush surroundings, adopts a strategic gate closure protocol. Anticipating the end of each day, the park initiates the gradual shuttering of gates half an hour before the scheduled closing time. This foresighted measure serves a dual purpose – facilitating a systematic closure process and ensuring that all entrances are securely sealed at the stipulated hour. As daylight begins to wane, visitors can savor the last moments within Dartry Park, knowing that the park's thoughtful approach guarantees a smooth transition from open serenity to nightly repose. Whether one relishes the vibrant greenery or engages in a friendly soccer match, the park's meticulous gate closure routine contributes to the seamless rhythm of its natural and recreational offerings.

It is a beautiful place for a walk but the Council needs to get their act together and cut back the weeds and nettles

Our favourite local park due to how dog friendly it is! Great to be able to let the dog off the lead and have a good run around with other dogs.

Our favourite park (dog & me) love the Dodder behind and big open space mixed with woodlands. Come here at least 1-2 times/week
