Great Victorian bar (1897) in Dublin with friendly staff. Family owned and run. Apparently there has been a licenced premises on or near this place since 1661!! There is rugby memorabilia in pub as one of original owners played with Ireland and British & Irish Lions. Nice and bright bar with plenty of outdoor seating when we get the sun.

It is my favorite pub in Dublin. Let’s be honest maybe my favorite Irish pub in the world. It is a beautiful Victorian pub that has been owned by the same family for years. 87 years. A definite rugby bar too. They pour a perfect Guinness and you can learn a lot about Irish whiskey here. I have been here several times including at the end of the pandemic and I have always received top notch service. I feel very comfortable coming in for a pint as a solo female traveler. There is a covered outdoor area if the weather is nice. If you don’t want to drink, they make a great flat white. My kids in their 20s love it too.

Was the first pub we went to upon arriving in Dublin. Close to our hotel. Friendly staff. Great beer. More local crowd than tourists which we prefer.

A very cool bar, but it closes too soon. Though that is a common Irish style that should be changed. The Children of Ireland, high time to speak up and rebel. 🌠Recommended to have a pint there before. ✨

Loved this place! We were coming back from an epic gig in Fairview park staying at the Marlin. This pub is a real gem. Friendly bar staff. And the best Guinness we tasted. Wish we opted for a pint. Great to see the sign about no WiFi it made us smile and appreciate the surroundings. Will be back and recommend to folks!

Very nice Victorian pub. The bartender was very welcoming and the drinks were great. Amazing selection of whiskies and great pint of Guinness. All accompanied by a nice and calm atmosphere.

This is one of the classic victorian bars in Dublin's City centre. Marble bar counter and carved wooden back bar with a lovely hard floor, this is a lovely place. It can get busy, and when doors at both end if the pub are opened, it can get cold, but the bar staff and the crowd more than make it a welcoming and buzzy place. The only slight disappointment is that they seemed to have trimmed their range of beers and is now tilted to the more ordinary offerings. I miss their Steigel and more interesting craft beers.

Nice bar with friendly staff. Only downside is less-than-average beer selection. No craft beer options when I asked, just the usual big brands (or beers owned by them). Shame when we have plenty of high quality Irish microbreweries e.g. Kinnegar, Metalman, Kinsale...

Nice bar. Nice staff. Definitely a proper Irish pub. Nice seating area if you get one of those rare days where it doesn't rain!

One of the few remaining Victorian era pubs in Dublin, this is what a proper 'Dublin Pub' looks like. It's a very good place to watch Rugby, the owner once played for Ireland (and the Lions) No kitchen, but you can order from nearby Dublin Pizza Company and they'll deliver to your table/spot at the bar.

6.40 now for a pint of Guinness now - for a place that busy it shouldn't be that much.. But sure there I was paying it to sit outside and drink in the cold. Good pub all the same - one for the business card

I love this bar for a nice day drink. Staff are lovely. I’ve only knocked one star off as a pint of hop house is €7.20.

Guinness tastes so much better in Ireland than back home in the US. Bartender is super friendly. Ask them about the Irish whiskey they have to offer. If you are a gin person, try the Gunpowder Irish gin.

A great authetic Irish bar, a bit pricey in general but probably about right for a south side pub. The pint was good and the staff were friendly and polite.

My buddy's & I visited Dublin for my 50th, and we went through a lot of pubs! The Swan Bar was simply one of the best pubs of all. Cheers to Mr Lynch & his staff.. sure to be sure we'll be back. 🍻

Swan bar is traditional but has some craft beers, nice seating out the side with canopy, nice snug and fire too inside in Winter time, prices usual for the area. Friendly staff. Rugby πŸ‰ connections...

This is a great Victorian bar. The server is very friendly, and he took the time to give us a history lesson.

Classic old Dublin pub with mosaic floors, granite counters and rich mahogany panels and partitions. It's history is rich too; it started in the Middle Ages and its most recent iteration is Victorian. It was caught up in the Easter Uprising and during the Civil War clashes, and since 1937 it has been run by the Lynch family. We met Ronan Lynch, third generation Lynch landlord. Good craic, good Guinness!

Fantastic old Dublin Pub, beautiful interiors and great atmosphere. Great to see so many people sitting talking to each other, the way an Irish pub used to. Wonderful selection of whiskies and nice friendly staff.
