A true neighborhood pub, we were probably the only tourists there. Went for one drink and ended up staying about 4 hours. Music started at 9:30. Well done and a good sound level for a fine experience and did not drown out conversation. Probably good to get there during the quieter time of 19:00 to 20:30 for choice in seating.

Pub was excellent for Irish music and beer. People here are friendly and nice. It's feel very good to see such pubs.

A really good pint here, a new favourite of mine. Quite cramped and very old decor inside, everything you want from a pub when the weather is awful out. If it's nice then you can sit outside and watch the world go by.

Cracking pub. Best pint of Guinness in Dublin by far. The owner Stuart runs a tight ship, great selection of whiskey and other drinks too. The craic is mighty with the regulars too. Made to feel welcome every visit by them and the staff. Go in the evening when the fire is lit and traditional Irish ballads do be playing… When you call Gavin the barman “ happy “ ..happy hour is enacted. 2 for 1 on all drinks. Great incentive

Beer excellent. Staff lovely. Company congenial. Nice relaxed atmosphere. You can sing a few songs or play a few tunes with no worries. A real traditional Irish pub. Love it.❤❤❤

Great authentic Dublin pub. We arrived here just after 10.30 on a Friday morning - we had a train to catch at 12.45 so a great pit stop before our train journey. Great chats with barman and other customers. Great banter. Guinness not bad either. What a real Irish pub should be.

Best traditional pub experience ever, the atmosphere was very warm and the pints very good. The bartenders are lovely and the band that was playing there very good. It's quite tiny inside and maybe difficult to find a table but it doesn't matter too much.

Lovely wee pub. I popped in for a pint while going round the shops, and was pleasantly greeted with a lovely fire and friendly barman and punters. Next time I'm in Dublin I'll make an issue of stopping in again.

Love this pub, always great craic, locals are sound and the banter is top notch. The pub is spotless and if you're very lucky you'll manage to get the table by the open fire, but you'll have to be quick as there's always a race for it. I can't wait for the pub to reopen, I'll be straight back in for a pint.

Brilliant pub! Friendly staff behind the bar, great live music, amazing atmosphere all round! I was informed to come to this bar specifically if I wanted a decent pint of Guinness and I was not disappointed. Guinness poured right! It can be a bit tight for space and seating at the bar is limited. If you do manage to get seated at the bar it's worth staying in the place for a few jars before moving on. Met a nice group of lads whilst here, good craic and the only reason I left was because it was closing time! If I am ever in Dublin again I will be sure to visit this place again!

Decent little pub, good traditional feel which is becoming rarer in the city centre. Good place for a chat with a mate.

Some what of a hidden gem on Capel Street, could miss it but you're better off not. Great compact bar with a mix of regulars and locals passing by. The open fire is the clincher for what makes McNeill's so great! Really good Guinness too.

My wife and I stopped in here about a week ago after hitting all the touristy pubs in Dublin. This was by far our favorite pub we went to in Dublin. Stuart is amazing. He was full of cool stories and history lessons. The locals having a few drinks were also very welcoming. Can’t wait to come back.

Nice. More like for local, but nice. I've asked for a glass of dark beer, but I've got a light one 😁. Wanted to try something local, maybe that's why. It's not so much place inside, that's why come earlier, if you want to drink here (I was there Friday evening).

This bar may not be very large, but it is full of warmth and coziness, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Additionally, the music and ambiance are not too noisy, allowing people to chat and enjoy a pleasant evening.

McNeill's was a pub I never visited before, they don't have a kitchen, so food doesn't get in way. Great Guinness and Old school charm. Staff on the ball and helpful, especially to non locals. Proper local clientele, with accompanying humour. A little gem, hidden on a busy Capel Street.

Great spot for trad music, a pint of Guinness & the smell of a peat fire. Proper authentic Irish boozer that started out as a musical instrument shop I believe. It’s situated on Capel Street which has a gas mix of good Asian restaurants and a mix of bars. This is the spot for your pint though

The experience of watching a live Irish band perform in front of you, with their flattering way with the instruments and that unspoken Irish atmosphere, it's wonderful! A pint of Guinness by your side, one of the oldest Irish pubs on the Northside, and the performance generally takes place on weekends. Prices of the drinks are fair! And as soon as you enter the pub, you feel no longer in Dublin. A typical countryside vibe.
