Wonderful atmosphere, and the staff is brilliant. Gerry (sp?) was especially nice. I ordered the club sandwich and my wife had the Irish stew, both of which were excellent. When Gerry learned we were visiting on our honeymoon, he gifted us a shot and chatted for a bit, also offering to take a few photos of us. Would recommend to anyone visiting Dublin. Excellent food and even better service.

Nice little sports bar in Dublin. I went with a friend and we both had the steak and Guinness pie, it was delicious. We each had a couple of beers and I didn't get the bartender's name but the service was excellent. I wish I had found this place sooner, today is my last day in Dublin before going home to the U.S. so I won't be able to go back.

I had a really good night today, the staff was incredible, the music the environment, the FOOD. Until I get out for a smoke a saw on the top right corner on the smoker area is a cage with two birds (Budgerigar) catching all the fumes and light. please find a better place for your birds and I will change my rate because you are a 5-star place in Dublin.

A quick visit to The Old Stand whilst visiting Dublin. Good price for a Guinness and there was a quiet, nice vibe to the place. Will visit again next time I'm in Dublin. Didn't order food but saw someone with a burger and it looked good

Great pub! The people that work there were amazing and kind! Food is good. They do stop serving food at like 6. This is exactly what you would think an Irish pub is. Friendly, great food and historical!

Celt was recommended for their Bacon a d Cabbage by the Bartender at Ha'Penny Bridge. I enjoyed the family like atmosphere as I sat at the bar. This was the 1st time I ever had Christmas Pudding and it was amazing! The decor is also awesome! Music every night! ❤❤❤🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

As most Irish pubs it seems small from the front but is a large pub, at the rear is a very nicely appointed dining area for dinner. Live Irish music every night for entertainment.

(Translated by Google) Great atmosphere, live traditional Irish music and great food, plus Irish beers and ciders on tap. The restaurant is very large and also has a smoking room. Perfect if you want to get to the heart of Irish culture (Original) Bellissima atmosfera, musica tradizionale irlandese dal vivo e ottimo cibo, oltre che birre e sidro irlandesi alla spina. Il locale è molto grande e ha anche una sala fumatori. Perfetto se volete entrare nel vivo della cultura irlandese

A historic Dublin Pub long asdociated with Irish Revolutionary and military leader Michael Collins. Set on a corner of very busy social junction where the traveller is spoiled for choice. This pub has everything, history, culture, heritage, a nice mix of traveller and local socialiser. An unassuming pub where conversation is key. Beverages are not excessive, served with a smile and if you want a bite to it, its good stuff too.

Such a good spot to return to time and again. Staff are always on the ball. You walk in and they instantly know if there is a seat or a spot for you to go to. Every time you go to the bar you never have long to wait and you don't have staff avoiding eye contact. You pretty much get it right away and know they are coming to you. Good setting, great atmosphere and super staff that any business would be blessed to have. Pints are very tasty and excellent selection of whiskey, ports etc etc. Look forward to going back before Xmas.

Pint of Heineken is to dear only had one and headed home. Yes its a lovely place and very cosy great staff as well. The price of drinks would not make u want to stay there. Lower prices will encourage people to spend more.??

This is a really nice pub in central Dublin on the tourist strip. The food is very good with a really good traditional choice. The drink is first class and the place is always spotless. Very friendly and fast service. I can't fault it, I go there whenever I can. It's quiet and cosy and inexpensive, good value. Go, you'll enjoy. Good for sport too. Cheers.

Proper pub, real barmen, The Old Stand is warm, clean & quiet. They serve fresh, creamy, perfectly pulled pints. Little bit of heaven in de city. Thanks Lads!

  • 1/5 Eduard I. 7 years ago on Google
Very nice staff. The food...has too much pepper. Is either a bad cook or the food is old and they are trying to cover the bad taste with more than enough spices

We called into the Old Stand to get out of the rain for twenty minutes. Sat up the bar with a Guinness. Left 4 hours later. Very strange. An excellent bar with top Guinness. An old Michael Collins haunt too!!!

The place looks tiny but amazes you as it opens up in room after room. Large groups can be easily accommodated as there are large tables available. Food is traditional irish and allows a group to try different things. We shared a bunch, including the seafood pies. Food was tasty and not particularly expensive. Staff is kept hopping! But they handled everything with a smile.

Went for a meal and a few drinks, no one approached us so we went to the bar and asked could we order, the girl was extremely rude and ignorant. There was also an issue with us sitting on to have a few drinks after the meal with the same girl. She completely ruined the evening and I would advise anyone to give this place a miss.

I have been there last December and I enjoyed it a lot. I entered alone for dinner, it was very full and I didn't have a reservation but a very nice and kind waitress, quickly found me a good accommodation and I was able to eat a delicious traditional beef.. Then after dinner, the fun continued with traditional Irish live music, beer whiskey.. Unlike many commercial pubs, this is a real typical old school pub where everything is done well (food and service) but you can mainly feel the spirit of joy that involves everyone together.

Fish and chips were delicious. My husband thought the mushy peas were the best he's ever had. Hot, crispy and quite a large portion too. Staff seemed a bit disinterested, but that shouldn't take away from the food. Guinness was fresh and perfectly poured.

Cracking little beauty on the corner, Friday night. Perfect to cool your heels while you grab a pint. Have Lagunitas (West Coast American) IPA on tap and it's pretty fresh. Food at a fair price too if you should want.

Great food, great service! I'm gluten intolerant and they were extremely accommodating to me and made me the most gorgeous salad, which wasn't even on the menu. The chef even took some time to pop out and see if we were happy with our meal. Highly recommend!

One of the oldest pubs in Dublin, it is well worth the visit for a pint. This pub has less of the 'local' vide that you will get in other historical pubs but still has a nice 'oldy' atmosphere. I enjoyed it.

Lovely Lovely old pub..great atmosphere. Everyone willing to converse with you. The staff are incredibly efficient even when it's busy..which is most of the time. The ladies room is located on the 1st floor so it's a keeper in my mind. I will always stop in when I am in the area.

Brilliant pub, friendly bartender, fun crowd. Pints of Guinness were excellent and they have a really good selection of Irish whisky at reasonable prices. Redbreast, powers, and the spots in pretty much every bottling.

Heard a lot about this place but wasn't impressed at all, the restaurant itself is very small, there was a table of lads on a night out and they were very loud, I can totally understand lads enjoying themselves but it effected everybody else's evening and management did nothing about it, service was rushed, toilets very small and seemed like an afterthought in the design. Food was nice, hence 3 stars but didn't blow me away, had a couple of cocktails and they weren't great. Overall its over rated and unfortunately I won't be back.
