Standard drinks , good location, I left my drink on the table to go to the toilet and a drunk girl came in from the street and knocked it over. I came back from the toilet and the bartender , a young guy was laughing at the fact that I'd lost my whole pint. He just shrugged his shoulders and said " unlucky". Fair enough it was unlucky but he watched the whole thing happen and if he wasn't going do give me a free one since it wasn't my fault the least he could do was not laugh at my misfortune, he is supposed to be serving me after all. Ameture classless serving from the young guy.

Good old original Irish pub right next to the bridge and obviously the river. Sean the manager was a great guy, really friendly and knowledgeable about what there was to see close by. His Dad has owned the pub for about 35 years so obviously a popular spot for the locals. Good selection of Irish Beers as well as European ones. It's a Hurling pub with loads of memorabilia being English I know little about the game except for the injuries you can get, seen my friend"s scars!! But with some of the Beer Taps shaped as Hurling Sticks I'm fairly sure when there's a great game on it'll be busy.

We popped into this pub for a swift pint but ended up having a great evening. We were entertained firstly by a solo musician and then by a duet who all had the pub singing along. The staff worked really hard and we were never short of a drink.

The Ha’Penny Bridge Inn is a wonderfully traditional Irish Pub. When we travel, we like to come as close to feeling like a local while still soaking up everything novel and unique about our destination. This welcoming pub allows you to do just that. You easily feel at home in its distinctly Irish decor and authentic history, not an easy feat to achieve. The staff is very accommodating, absolutely pour a pint in perfect form, the selection of beers and whiskies is vast, and the hospitality begs another visit. We made it a point to pop round every day of our week visit to Dublin for a round of drinks. On weekends, they have live music as well. Despite a phenomenal trip to Dublin, the Ha’penny Bridge Inn holds some of our favorite moments. We just returned and are already talking about how and when we will visit again.

Perfect pint of Guinness. Staff friendly charming and the boss Mike a tower of knowledge, a fantastic story teller (all stories 100%) , 100% of what I'm not sure but definitely 100%. Only joking he's a beautiful man. Enjoy my time spent there

Astounded by this place. Never again Double charged for a round of drinks. Apparently first time didn't go through on my card... As I left the building I didn't even have a chance to dispute this and correct them as they slammed the shutter closed right behind me. I spoke to the manager who was going to check back on his card receipts and till charges . I was told it was the banks fault...never heard such B.S in my life...and the bank will credit me the money back. I waited 4 days and still no money. Called up on the 5th day to be told to come in and they will give me the cash, which I'm apparently waiting on coming through a bank transfer... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Now...my partner was charger 12€ for a beer and a super small packet of roasted nuts same night at the end of the night also.. I was double charged for a round that clearly didn't have to be double charged had they paid attention to what they were doing. And she was overcharged for a pint and a packet of nuts. Or simply give a void receipt or credit card receipt once the transactions went through. Also felt when I initially called up it would not be resolved until I declared I live in Dublin. I myself have a strong Scottish accent and my partner has a strong Spanish one. I feel they are taking the pisss out of tourists they think won't come back to them. From start to finish the way it happened and the way it was dealt with to amend the problem was all very sketchy and dodgy. Don't trust a word they say! Check your credit card bills when paying for drinks immediately Or just don't go there. Very unprofessional and very untrustworthy bar in my opinion. I have worked 24 years in hospitality so they didn't get away with their B.s with me. But how many people/tourists have had this experience and left Ireland with no means to chase up the bar??

Had an excellent time here with my sister. So much so that we came back the next day just to get a drink before we took our flight. The bartender was a proper bartender. He was great fun and made our night a memorable one. The service was fast and attentive to everyone in the place. The atmosphere was that of a perfect Irish pub. Live music was great too.

€6.50 for a mediocre Guinness, no certs checked or photo ID just name and number in the book, was tempted to write Mickey Mouse 123456789 see if they even noticed, brought upstairs asked for 2pints was given 3 and charged €19.50, lads at table next to us wrestling each other of their seats, used to love popping in for quiet pint with the paper... It'll be a while before I'm back sorry.

Nice pub near the river with 18 different types of good ☘️ beers and other drinks that represent Ireland. You will be served by good stuff who can also suggest you what to drink. At night you can enjoy night life and light view on the river, during the day will good company

A warm welcome from the super friendly staff. On a Friday evening where most of the other places required a reservation, it felt great to do a spontanoeus visit and have a few drinks. Great atmosphere, music and location.

Oh, wow! What a great night! Seven comedy acts for €10, and a well stocked bar frequented by the nicest visitors to Dublin's comedy scene. I had a laugh, a drink, and made a generous handful of new friends. Might go back tomorrow for the live music.

great pub for one or seven pints before lunch. bouncers on st. patrick's day were some absolute legends, older one was super relaxed, his younger disgusting sidekick was very serious with checking passports. overall we had an amazing time. would highly recommend!

Very nice irish pub in the heart of Dublin with a nice atmosphere and an excellent pint of Guinness

As I approached the establishment a man opened the door for me and forced my hand saying “Are you coming in then?”, this was our first red flag. This felt abrupt but I took it for hospitality at first. We ordered two pizzas, two cokes and an alcoholic drink … this came to £50 … somehow. The service was okay but it wasn’t anything near £50 maybe £35 at a push. The pizzas were clearly frozen. To cut a long story short, the bar man scammed us, I think he knew we were tourists and so he attempted, and succeeded, to take advantage of us. I will be suggesting to my friends to avoid this place, or at least, if they do go, to watch the total at the end. There are plenty of places nearby that serve food for cheaper with better quality.

Great pub I have been in a few times over the years with great stout. I did let the bar man know this was the year Mayo would beat Dublin and he may have laughed. All is forgiven.

Our favorite place we went to in Dublin. Walked in off of our red eye flight and immediately felt welcomed and relaxed. Sean is a joy and we’re so glad we had the chance to meet him and drink a pint of Guinness (okay a few pints). If you are in Dublin this is a must do pub.

Nice little battle cruiser. Pint excellent, bit pricey but worth it. On the edge of temple bar beside the river liffey. Staff and service excellent. Upstairs music lounge filled with tourists, more expensive but nice atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Nasty workers telling locals to not dance when the entertainer is enticing people to do so. Rude employees reaching between you to yank empty glassware. This place can’t be Irish owned like so many others around temple, shame.

This place is nice!! A traditional Irish pub! I liked it, but one guy from the staff wasn’t kind to us! As soon as we had finished our drinks he came to us and told us we couldn’t be there if we didn’t have any drinks! I found him very rude and unfriendly as he would NOT listen to what I was saying…

  • 5/5 Jemms89 8 months ago on Google
This place is wonderful! We came to Dublin back in may and we was practically in this place every night! The atmosphere the decor it was charming! A traditional Irish pub! We loved it! The staff are so friendly and the entertainment in the evening is brilliant! We never ate here so couldn’t comment on the food but the drinks were good and not overpriced! I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone visiting Dublin.

Amazing bar, amazing staff. The bar team were extremely knowledgeable, when it come to the whiskey they had to offer. There was an extensive range too, with tons of history. The whiskey ranges from around €9 to about €100. The bar team weren't pushy at all. They could ask a few questions and pair you with your new favourite whiskey in no time, without it costing the earth. I had tried a few whiskey's during our visit but absolutely fell in love with their recommendations. If your planning on visiting Temple BAR, Dublin then please visit the 'Ha'Penny Bridge' Inn,even if it's just a quick pint and a chat about the weather. These guys have to be the most wonderful bar team in Dublin, if not Ireland!

Everything you could hope for in an Irish pub! First one we ever visited in Ireland and it was perfect. Service was excellent, friendly, fast, delicious food, excellent Guinness...a relaxing cozy atmosphere that promoted comradery. Friendly people despite the dreary conditions outside. We will be back!! Cannot reccomend this enough nor say enough good things about it! Even the big burly bartenders were so soft and sweet to my young daughter with me. Just amazing.

Manager refused to serve any women, I dont drink but was there with a pal who had had a few drinks he was very abrupt and said she was too drunk to be served (she wasn't). He was extremely rude and abrasive towards her, it seems they only want men in this bar. I would give it a wide birth if you want to feel safe in Dublin as the staff have no respect towards women.

I went to the Ha'Penny Inn for the Comedy Club, that runs Thursday, Friday, and Sunday... and I was not disappointed. For €10 I was treated to the comic relief of four fantastic local comics. The bar man was also on his best game, providing table service, asking if you'd like another as you took your last mouthful. There wasn't a dry eye, or glass, in the whole place.

From the outside I almost dismissed going in to this pub but from the moment I went in the staff and the customers were all so friendly. I had my very first Guinness here which certainly wasn't my last either. We started our night here before walking along the river and ending back here, but upstairs, watching a live fiddle and guitar act. My girlfriend and I were singing out loud and dancing in our seat experiencing one of the most memorable experiences of Dublin. If I ever visit Dublin again this will be one of my first stops.

On a ridiculously busy, crowded, and LOUD Saturday afternoon in the Temple Bar neighbor of pubs, The Ha'penny Bridge Inn pub somehow managed to control the quaos. The gentleman running the pub was one of the most genuinely appreciative and personable we encountered on our entire stay in Dublin. I generally don't take the time to comment on Fish and Chips, and this will be the exception. It was finally exactly, and perfectly, how I imagined traditional Fish and Chips should be.

Considering that this place is right on the quays and so close to Temple Bar, it does a good job of balancing "platonic ideal of an Irish pub" without venturing inti tourist trap territory. The pints are fairly priced, it's the exact perfect amount of dingey, and their comedy shows upstairs are great.

  • 4/5 Robert B. 4 years ago on Google
Very nice very friendly place. Prices are real tourist style like a pint of cider and a non alcoholic is €13.50 Lost a start for that but if you've a fully loaded bank card then go here it's really nice and pleasant.

  • 4/5 Kat L. 4 years ago on Google
Comedy night was a decent night's craic for €7 .... it was nice to not have deafening music too... it's a bit grim decor wise... but it's a traditional Irish pub... not the Ritz🙈 When in Ireland expect swearing and to be offensively inoffended... its part of the warm nature... everyone is treated like family! Haven't been here for anything else.
