Lovely pub along a canal. About 5 or 6 tables/barrels outside for seating. Loads of booths and tables indoor for sitting. 3 floors tall. Great pub to have pints and bites. Definitely a go to spot that will be a staple in my rotation. Food: 7/10 Bevs: 8/10

The barge is a very nice pub, quite lively on weekdays as well. It is very close to charlemont luas stop. We had ordered skinny fries and cheesy garlic breads. They were quite pocket friendly. The garlic breads came with a salad dressed with a sweet sauce.

We had to order for each person at least €9 + Nachos' dips were separated and not mixed with the nacho itself, not tasty nachos + Salmon fish was raw and not tasty + Hot wings were not spicy and not so good + Not very well behavior of staff to my friend

Such a lovely find! Charming and helpful staff with a fine menu...I suggest the whiskey chicken and mash...of food as well as beers. The interior is as welcoming as the staff!

Very known establishment in Dublin, not to be skipped when visiting ROI! Although the bar gets 3 ⭐️ due to number of small things, I do extend a 5 🌟 review to a lovely lady Katelyn, who has looked after our table. She keeps maintaining eye contact and ensures customer are looked after by approaching tables when required. Smile on her face and ready to assist at all times! Proper starbar! She is absolutely amazing at what she does, and i am certainly hoping she will progress within company and be able to share/transfer her knowledge and expertise to new and current team members. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great place to stop for a pint or a bite on the canal to watch the commuters stroll and cycle past. Staff was cheerful and attentive and decor cozy. Dinner was the seafood chowder with bangers&mash and a Guinness. Tops!

The Guinness served at The Barge bar in Dublin is truly exceptional. From the moment the pint is poured, you can tell that the bar staff takes great pride in their craft. The deep, dark color of the beer and the creamy head that sits atop it are indicative of the perfect pour. The aroma is rich and inviting, with notes of roasted malt and coffee. Upon taking the first sip, the smooth, velvety texture coats the mouth, while the flavors of caramel, chocolate, and a hint of bitterness from the hops come through. It is clear that the Guinness at The Barge is expertly crafted, with a perfect balance of flavors and a smoothness that is unmatched. The atmosphere at The Barge bar only adds to the experience of enjoying a pint of their excellent Guinness. Situated on the banks of the canal, the bar offers stunning views of the water and the surrounding area. The interior is cozy and welcoming, with dim lighting and comfortable seating. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they clearly take pride in their establishment and the drinks they serve. Overall, The Barge bar is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a true taste of Dublin and the best pint of Guinness around.

It's a lovely and beautiful place with lovely and friendly staff. I booked the top floor for a party and we had a great moment there. I strongly recommend this place. One point is there wasn't a sound system separated for top floor so we were hearing football match during one and half hour.

Probably best to avoid The Bleeding Horse if you are following covid 19 guidance for July 2020. Don't bother booking a table or ordering food as you can drink freely. The menu online is also a waste of time, expecting the staff to have a visor or a mask isn't happening either. Though if you do order food it is excellent quality, the reason for my 2 stars.

The best wings I have ever tried !!! My girlfriend treated me to going to Dublin for my birthday in January and we stayed in the hotel right next to The Drunken horse , after we checked into the hotel we thought we would have a few drinks at the pub next door which was the the drunken horse , I had seen the chicken wings online and needed to try them. Let me say they were the best with that u had ever tired , not even joking and the small size was in fact perfect for two and the drinks offered were amazing , later we return to the outside areas with a cigar and spent the rest of our great holiday outside the pub , We both wish we could return tomorrow , thank you for the great time , can’t wait to go again !!!

We stopped in because it was very close to our hotel. We found the place very ordinary. The food was okay but not great - there was a large selection. It was not very crowded but it did seem to take a long time for the food to arrive. The beer came very quickly. Prices were in line with what we had been paying. Nothing bad here just not special either.

I can’t speak highly enough of the staff at the Barge. We came in for a meal after my grandfathers funeral, they set us up a couple of tables very safely and all of the staff were so kind and so attentive. A special mention for Michelle who really went out of her way for us given the circumstances. On top of that the food was amazing, delicious, great portions and quick service. Very affordable. Would highly recommend to anyone

This has to be some of the top tier ribs I have ever had - and I'm from the south back in the United States! Amazing food!! Unfortunately I have to give this 3 stars. When we sat down for food and a few pints, we were told we had until 7:30 PM. We had sat down around 5:45 PM so there was plenty of time. All of a sudden the *extremely rude manager* comes by and rushes not only us but an ENTIRE SECTION out saying we need to leave our tables immediately as they have another reservation for that section. Now, we saw the sign that said there wasn't a reservation for that section till 8:30 PM so why were we being rushed out at 6:30?!?!?! He DIDN'T EVEN TRY to convenience us or the other tables by apologizing, trying to find us another seat, or anything. He just said you need to leave these tables now. Did not give us time to finish our meals, ask for the check, finish our drinks, or even talk to the waitress. Disgusting management.

This is what I would call a typical modern local Irish pub. Blending the old time corner bar with modern foods, a place everyone can go and meet. The food is good the beer selection is great. The layout is great for large and small groups, to meet at the same time and still feel like they are having intimate time with their friends. I have been to the Temple bar and would rather hang out at The Barge any given night.

Went here just before Dublin went back into lockdown. Pre booked the table. Arrived on table to be pleasantly pleased on the way they handled things. They ensured everyone wearing masks till we go to our table. Prompt service and the good was excellent. Great choices, all options available. Food served hot and fresh. Very tasty and plenty of it. Will be back for sure.

Rang up to try book a table, and a staff member named Michelle answered. I told her I wanted to book 3 tables of 6 for dinner and the whole time she was incredibly rude and abrupt to me on the phone. When I told her the booking wasn’t for a work do & was instead a celebratory dinner she refused to take the booking and said that it was too many people even though 2 minutes earlier she was more than willing to allow me to book. The way she spoke to me upon refusal was very rude & I would hope she doesn’t speak to all customers this way.

Met a few friends for a Christmas drink. First time in the place. It was quiet for the time of year. Good place for a pint. Lots of room. Staff were friendly and polite. Service was efficient. It's easily accessible from the city centre. Good place to go for a pint and quiet chat midweek.

It is ridiculous to have to spend 9 euro per person for food. It's absurd that this is a must. You will lose your customers while trying to make a profit. Stop acting like a 3rd class world country restaurant. This is not a restaurant. This is pub.

What an amazing pub situated in the heart of Dublin, we watched the 6 nations Rugby match here and the atmosphere was magnificent, the look and feel of this pub is nothing I've ever seen before with hidden alcoves and small tables nestled away, this is truly a remarkable pub which oozes Irish charm and character and will certainly be coming back when the occasion calls.

Could not have had a better experience! We did not have reservations, but the hostess was able to accommodate us and was incredibly attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic too. Bangers and Mash and Seafood chowder were out of this world. If you are staying at the Hilton Hotel nearby...this is a must-visit bar/restaurant.

Nice stuff, good prices, cold beer, cozy bar. But as expected from a bar, the cappuccino wasn't that good, though I can't complain. The bar looks good and the decorations are awesome.

All I can say is it was so good we had to return the following night as the menu choice is fantastic. The food can only be rated as excellent and the same can be said of the staff. Michelle (hostess) was accommodating and friendly and made us feel very welcome even at short notice. The two waitresses that served us, Lorraine and Katelyn, were both very efficient and knowledgeable about the menu and nothing was too much trouble. I’ve been to many pubs and restaurants around Europe but this one definitely rates in my top three.

Such a great place. Booked a table at short notice for Saturday night for food and drinks. The food was top notch, I'd really recommend the ribs, meat fell off the bone. Shout out to Michelle who took the booking and even came over to us for a chat. All the staff were great and they even put the Leeds game on the big tele when I asked. Couldn't fault the place.

It is a very lively place. Went there for food since it's a gastro pub and I must say, the burger was thick and tasty, apple crumble so big my wife couldn't finish it. Good place both for a pint (large beer selection, multiple bar counters), and a bite.

Seating was hard to come by, you have to kinda walk around and search for tables and take the first one you see. That’s the only reason for the four stars. But even as busy as they were the manager helped us find a table and got us seated. We were thankful. We sat down and had good service we got a couple beers and watched the World Cup. Great place for drinks and late night food. Fish and chips may have been the best I had in Ireland. Chicken wings were phenomenal and I loved the Guinness! We had so much fun this night and would have went back for late night drinks and food. Can get a little noisy but that’s to be expected.

Some of the best chowder I have ever and and the prices were fair for what you got The best meal item in my opinion is the lamb shank, large piece of meat with it falling off the bone. Truly a surprise with how good this place really was And the vibes, next level

This was a very strange experience. My friend and I came into the pub and ordered some loaded fries (came out piping hot as if from the microwave) and were ousted after about 5 minutes. The waitress kept coming up to us to ask if we wanted to pay… we weren’t even finished our food. Really bizarre. Kudos to whoever wrote the menu, some very adventurous descriptions there. Lovely pub though. Great decorations. Just for drinks.

We had our staff party at one of the oldest pubs in Dublin. This one is quite a treat with ambient lighting and a cave-like atmosphere. It's filled with elements we see everyday. This is a must visit for people looking for a good old Dublin pub.

Our first bar in Dublin, next to our hotel. We were there three times during our stay, different week days. Very friendly staff, and nice settings with three floors of seating opportunities. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed until august 20. due to renovation. But that didn't kill the mood. On monday night there was a very nice and friendly young man working there, Jamie. We had a very nice chateau which were much appreciated. Welcome to Norway, Jamie!

Nice bar, decent interior. But very limited drinks selection - all the big brands (owned by the major breweries), no consumer choice / craft beer :/ Could do way better in supporting small Irish brewers & customer choice.

First night in town and right across from Hilton. Fantastic vibe, Ireland playing Greece in town that night and bar was rocking. burger was all that. The exterior does no justice to how cool it is inside.
