We just walked into the bar because it was very close to our hotel. I believe we couldn't go wrong with any bar in Dublin, but this one is perfect. We talked to the bartender like we knew each other for a while, which is a very common thing in Ireland😂 Love it!

M O'Briens is a quintessential "local pub" where you have the regulars that come in, breed an air of familiarity, and have their say in every discussion. I walked in on a cold Irish evening in Dublin when the jacket I'd bought from India failed to keep put the wind and the lovely Irish weather. O'Briens was warm, quiet and the barkeep was very helpful with what Irish whiskey I should knock back. Added bonus he was a history buff as well. He gave me recommendations for which Irish whiskey to carry back and why. I felt right at home, such a sense of familiarity and belonging.... Visit here if you can.

Great pint of Guinness and friendly staff! Also, one of the few places that has kept it's original look and not tried becoming more than a normal pub! Please please please don't change!!

Great pint and great laughs. I stopped in 3 times over the weekend on my way home since it is right by where we were staying. Great staff as well as your locals always there for a good time.

Great local pub. Pints flowed freely. The locals made us old American boys feel very welcomed.

Great seating, friendly service. Lost two stars as there was no last call warning or any warning at all, then at 11pm we were told to leave. Decent place but no what you’d expect from a Dublin pub

First time ever in the restaurant. Well I was bowled over by the service. Place was hopping as it was a Friday night. The food was excellent. The staff were excellent at their jobs. They were all so friendly and polite. Didn't feel rushed. Even changed my food when there was some confusion which I believe was my fault. Thanks so much. I will be back again.

Had a lovely night at the M O'Brien! We shared a pint of Guinness, played some cards and met some of the locals. We had a Great Time!

Main room was empty on a Tuesday night, and the bartender came over to our group of six, pointed to my friend, and told him to be quieter, because he was laughing too loudly. More the substandard pint, or charging €5.50 for a bottle of Heineken 0.0, or the bathrooms that smell so strongly of bleach as to leave visitors lightheaded…the service is why such a nice pub, with such a great location, is always, always empty.

We had a great time. Really good pub and with a really good and traditional Guinness well served toilet was super clean and you can sit outside if you desire. Inside you have really good place and comfortable sits. I would recommend that one

We had our last lunch in this place. Amazing gastronomic experience. So sad because we didn't have enough time to enjoy more. The service was excellent and the food amazing, congratulations to the kitchen as well. Very derved 5 stars and highly recommended.

OK, really good if you like tourists - then it's awesome! Otherwise pass. No idea why this place feels like a hostel.

I visited O’Briens with some work colleagues on a beautiful summers evening last week. We were seated outside in the glorious sunshine and served efficiently at the table by a number of very pleasant staff. However, my visit was ruined when I went inside to use the toilet. I could not find any hand sanitiser or see any signage of reassurance. It was in a disgraceful condition. Lots of flies flying in square formation, a stench of urine that was like a slap across the face and discoloured and dirty floors. I was afraid to touch anything and opened doors with my foot.. It’s a shame that the management didn’t use the downtime to thoroughly clean the bar and toilets to give reassurance to your customers that this is a safe pub to visit. I felt nervous and not confident that I was in a clean environment so we quickly moved on to a restaurant. Everything starts with cleanliness and adherence to Covid guidelines is a must. A fine establishment but this isn’t the the time for shabby chic.

We had a great night @O'Briens. We celebrated our friend Michael's birthday and he really enjoyed it. The staffs were amazing and really friendly. Specially Aran. We will definitely go back there. Highly recommended 👌 👍

Good prices and great atmosphere for having the craic and catching up with your pals. They have live music on some nights, but also have a section for those who don't want to listen to the acts.

This pub is amazing! It was close to our hotel so it was actually the first pub that we visited in Dublin… the experience was great, local people sitting there being so kind and funny .. we felt so welcomed! They have good beers and a very nice environment!!

Stopped in here for a quick pint hoping it was going to be good.....I was wrong.....it was the BEST pint I have ever had. In fact it was so good that I stayed for 3! Real old school atmosphere inside with a good mix of people.

Be careful with upstairs dining. Different business and not part of M O'Briens even though M O'Briens name was everywhere. Cannot get pub beer and food more expensive. Shepherds Pie was very good.

Great old style pub, lovely atmosphere. You need to be lucky to get a seat. Didn't eat, just drink and chat!

Went for a work dinner and had the black pudding scotch eggs as starter and pork chops as main course. Both were very nice. Service for the staff was very good and they were attentive enough without being overly so. And added to this you can get Guinness from the bar downstairs, this will definitely be a place I will come back to.

Rustic pub that marries old school rustic charm with a cosy atmosphere & friendly, efficient service. Food in the restaurant upstairs is excellent. They do have an extensive whiskey collection but it is very expensive across the board. Need a better selection of Irish craft beers on tap / in the fridge however - there was just one single independent beer available outside of the big breweries :/

(Translated by Google) I liked the atmosphere downstairs. I just went in for a Guinness so I can't talk about the food that is served upstairs. (Original) Gostei do ambiente no andar térreo. Entrei apenas para tomar uma Guinness, então não posso falar sobre a comida que é servida no andar superior.

On a busy corner, traditional old pub serving great pints of Guinness, generally is busy with after work crowd. Always will pop in for a pint if in the area. Seats outside on the path when sun shines.

Grand old Dublin pub. Best visited Sat or Sun , if Rugby on its very busy. Sunday afternoon nice and quiet. Pint is good but pricey. Pint Guinness € 5.20.

Afternoon visit so very quiet but looking forward to going back later for the craic. Reminds me of the local pubs of my youth it was like putting on an old coat.

It's a pub. With beer. And other potions - that will encourage loud singing; and make you attractive to other patrons.

Nice bar old style which I like. Barman appeared to be owner and was more interested in a company at the end of the bar, possibly friends and I am being a bit too critical. Anyway worth a visit

Nice pub. I as a foreigner would rate it traditional. It's definitely not a touristic place, might be one of those hidden places you would find in some insider guide. Come and check for yourself! Worth a pint in any case.

I would never go back here . We sat at the bar trying to order dinner and drinks for 15 mins and got completely blanked by both bartenders. They would just look and my wife and I and then serve the person next to us. That must've happened a dozen times . Utterly bizarre and was remnant of a League of Gentleman sketch where only locals are served. We left and went next door to the Leeson Lounge next door, which was a complete joy. Great staff, fantastic band and wonderful clientele. M. O'Briens could learn alot from their neighbors next door!

(Translated by Google) Enjoy your meal. Maybe a bit expensive pub but not at the tourist center. Many locals and downstairs in the pub is always moody and if you're lucky also has live music. This corner is one of my favorite in Dublin :) (Original) Gutes Essen. Vielleicht ein etwas teuerer Pub aber dafür nicht imm Touri Center. Traditional Irish public house, which is a good thing. Has a couple of TV screens in the lounge which is handy to keep a casual eye on the footie, and the pint of Guinness is good. Space isn't large, so if you're bringing a crowd let them know in advance. In terms of facilities, the urinals don't have a divider, which is unusual these days, but isn't something that bothers most people. Would definitely recommend for anyone staying in the Leeson Street area.
