Room was unhygienic with hairs on the bed, floor was dirty, brown smears on walls, curtains and on different parts of bathroom! (Confident it was faeces!) • Broken amenities including Phone, we couldn't even call the front desk to ask for someone to come take a look. • When we went to reception to ask for a new room, we were told to wait till morning or sleep in the street! Staff were rude and completely refused to help! • Moved room next morning and the new room's toilet didn't flush properly. Complained to staff and they sucked their teeth and said "don't put so much in then." And then looked me up and down! • Guests next door were very active one night and were shaking our door and tv on the wall... :( Bar downstairs plays *very* loud music until late. Plus, the room was extremely hot! Everything combined made it immensely difficult to sleep! • All night staff were rude and obnoxious! Denied us a fan when the first room had one but the second didn't, and even denied us Water! Lots of dirty looks, even ignored us when we needed to go in and out to the shop across the road or just for a quick smoke by the front door. (It all felt targeted). • On last night of stay we became very sick and the staff didn't care! We were very unwell, -(which we later found out from our Doctor, we contracted norovirus!)-, and went down to ask for cold water, they denied us water, and said "all water is water, doesn't matter if from toilet or sink in bathroom, it's all the same, drink from there."! • Manager called me on mobile after we got home from our horrible stay to harass us. He said he was "disappointed in us" and even told me to "be a man"! And much more abuse! All because I wasn't happy and contacted the customer support for the website we used to book. They tried to disregard us with a small partial refund onto our card directly and avoid doing it through the company we used to book. Seemed very dodgey. We should have taken more photos, but we got so overwhelmed and grossed out and didn't realise at the marks were faeces...

The room itself is fine - relatively comfortable bed and simple room. we requested a quiet room after reading some of the reviews about music. Instead we got one above the DJ box in the bar underneath. The floor and walls of the room are vibrating as I write this. When asked about it at reception, they told us the music would end at 10pm. It is 11:30pm now so I guess he is just lying. We paid 259 euros!!! I except a bit more for this price. Oh, also the safe didn’t work to lock up our passports. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This place should literally be closed down or advertise it’s only good for those who want to party all night.

If I can be honest, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was very little and hotel the sounds for example from toilet are very noise. But staff was really very friendly, we were scary how will look the third bed for 11 years old children, but it was totally OK. In the end I was sleeping in the bed and little sister was sleeping in normal bed. Location of hotel is totally great, because is exactly in the city centre. Room was really cozy and comfortable, although was really very little. We choosed this hotel, because it was one of the cheapest in Dublin, but we pleasantly surprised and we can recommend it.

When booking you should be told of the noise depending on what part of the hotel your located! Hotel and rooms clean but very small . We were above both pubs downstairs and was a 24 hr party people experience! Which I absolutely 💯 have no issues with but a few hrs sleep would've been heaven. The staff were amazing and the full Irish breakfast delicious and filling. And the location for sightseeing .

A bit of an older place with no-frills type of vibe but when you enter you see the rooms have been nicely decorated and there are a ton of places to go out nearby for food/drinks. Service was wonderful - I got great advice re train that if they hadn't asked about my journey I would have likely missed my train. Two really good bars right next door and very short walk to Bussaras or Connelly stations (I had to walk w luggage so it was super convenient). Room was clean. It's an older hotel so the rooms/bathrooms aren't enormous - based on various reviews I wasn't sure what to expect but I did really like the decor in my room, there was a kettle, and it was quiet while I was there midweek. They also offer a full Irish breakfast for 10 Euro. And like I said, the guys at reception were v helpful! Would book again for a night or two.

Cheapest rates can be found on their website! A quaint two-star hotel that offers a lot more than expected. With clean and cozy rooms, warm beds, 24 hour staff, a beautiful Irish breakfast, and quiet areas, it is a spacious hotel with a lot of stairs. It is quite safe with desk staff and automatic lights in the hallway. It is located not too far from the heart of Dublin and it is easy to walk around the area from here.

1 star for one very important reason - mold. The room had mold in the shower that looked to be black mold. The room smelled moldy to the point that we agreed felt like a health hazard. We spoke with the front desk and asked to change rooms; they denied, saying that they were entirely booked. We were not going to sleep somewhere that we considered a health hazard, so we packed our bags and booked at another hotel for our entire stay. I wish I would have read the other reviews that mentioned this issue before booking, this seems to be a common complaint with the hotel.

Wish I could give it zero stars. Where to begin. The room was very small and stuffy. The one window opened to the bar below. We were up until 4am because of the noise level. The light in the bathroom didn't work, the safe didn't work and the room smelled musty. We had a family emergency hours into the first night of a 4 night booking. We asked for even a partial refund as we had to leave the first morning, but they continue to ignore our request.

The music from the pub is ridiculously loud — you don't even have to go down to the pub. Would have been nice to have some warning about this. We did go down two nights, and it was lovely to listen to live music, but when we leave, it would be nice to feel like we left without it following us upstairs. Also, the room is tiny, the shower is tiny, the floor outside the shower is slightly uneven. The TV is tiny and set up really high on the wall. There was no hairdryer in our room (just the head of it). After calling reception, they said they would bring one up. Hours later, they knock with one which was too late by that point, both because my hair had dried naturally by that point and it was too late to be knocking. We could have been asleep as it was half ten, but obviously we weren't asleep, cause how could anyone sleep with the music downstairs blasting... A very expensive hotel for not many benefits. Only plus point is the location as it's close to the first stop of see the big bus tour.

Reception and breakfast employees perfect, breakfast also really good. I wanted to experience what I hoped for as Irish experience, unfortunately the area is a mecca for gypsies, and other 3rd world immigration, such as shame as didn't feel like Ireland. Another European city that has sold its soul...

The staff is incredible and very helpful. The room is also clean. But, I am giving it one star because of the noise. It has been so loud in my room since 5pm. It sounds as if my bed is in the middle of the dance floor at the pub downstairs. I have no idea how I am going to fall asleep tonight.

For a 2* hotel, I was shocked at the level of service we received. Immediately greeted by polite staff who were very informative and patient. Room was lovely and well kept, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful, especially for only €10. They allowed us to store our bags and even check-in early due to not feeling well. Absolutely recommend as it’s local to amenities, cheap and has a great grasp of hospitality.

Nice guesthouse in the centre of Dublin with very friendly personnel. Rooms are small but neat. Everyday clean towels, rooms are cleaned everday. Free wifi. Good beds. Enough pillows. USB-A charger for telephone charging next to the bed. For USB-C chargers a travel adapter is needed (for people outside UK and Ireland). Before checking-in and after checking-out you can left your luggage in a closed compartiment at the entrance of the guesthouse. The only less pleasant thing is that the television reception was not as good as expected, during the day several times a message appears that there is no or weak signal. In the neighboyrhood large shopping streets, enough bars and restaurants. Public transport is well organised. We bought a Leap Visitor Card for 72 hours for only 16.50, which card gives access to all public transport.

Stayed here for the final leg of my trip from Texas to Scotland (Hogmanay in Stonehaven) and Ireland. I determined I would not stay in any corporate chain hotel while on my trip. The Celtic Lodge was and is perfect. The food was wonderful and the cooks treated me like I was family.

We visited in the summer of 2022 and needed as plave ASAP for my husband's conference. I found this lodge by chance and thought it looked charming. It was wonderful! It took a long time to post this review but I remember the experience like it was yesterday. The lodge was clean, comfortable, and although the rooms were a bit small, they were cozy. The full Irish breakfast was so good and we felt welcomed by all the staff. I would walk around the city most of the day and come back to comfy bed. There's so much to do in that area and it was a prime spot being so close to the middle of the city without paying a luxury price. We wanted experiences, not to have spent all our money on a hotel that we'd be out of most of the time. When we come back to Dublin, we hope to stay here again!

Really amazing! We passed a night in the pub and we loved that. The staff is really polite and the breakfast is good and generous. I will return!

The staff were very nice and hospitality was superb. The receptionist took the extra mile to help us with our bags up to the third floor. We also had an early tour booked, they let us get breakfast at 6 rather than 8. Got an irish breakfast with toast and tea, and there wete vegetarian options! Had a wonderful time, the room was okay as well. Although there's no elevator so you may need to go up a few flight of stairs. :))

It’s expensive to stay in Dublin so when you do you want a clean, private and well accommodating room. That’s what this place offers. The location was easy for going to a million great business in the area and was a quiter spot for being so convenient to the best bars. The staff were so nice and accommodating. I would stay here again for sure. Plus have a drink at the Celt. Wonderful cocktails!

I booked the a last minute stay at the Celtic Lodge based on good reviews and I’m happy I did. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. We ate downstairs at the restaurant and had the delicious Irish stew with the homemade Guinness bread. We had a great time at the pub next door listening to live Irish music. The morning we left we had a delicious breakfast made by Margaret. The rest of the ladies were wonderful including Esther, Tami, Marie and Allison. I’d also like to mention Aaron and Bradley from the restaurant and pub. I will definitely stay here on my next return to Dublin.

The guest house is a lovely place to stay in the heart of Dublin. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby including live traditional Irish music just next door. The entire hotel and our room was very clean, light and bright, and has everything you need for your stay. The staff are all very helpful and happy to help. Shaun, the manager, was an absolute delight. Very welcoming, kind and funny. Will definitely be back again 🇮🇪

Within walking distance of anything and everything in Dublin City centre. Place has been recently refurbished. They might consider adding a do not disturb sign for guests to display at the door. I hate being woken up for any reason. Staff are helpful.

Would highly recommend this hotel! Front desk staff is phenomenal, extremely helpful to any questions you might have about the city or your stay. Rooms were clean, and you are right in the city center. Almost everything of interest is a 20 minute walk or less. Breakfast is also great, it’s a full meal not just a continental. If you book through their website It’s included in your stay. Can’t say enough great things about this establishment.

Shaun on reception was very welcoming and nothing was a bother to him. He was so helpful and really pleasant, This guy should be on top notch earnings. The room was far too small for twin beds you could hardly walk down the sides of the beds! But couldn't really complain for the price it was. The breakfast was great and the ladies serving it were really pleasant! We would def stay again!

Modern rooms in a historic inn. Beautiful small inn (not the room but the number of rooms) located in the center of town. Very nice staff. We didn’t take advantage of the breakfast because we had to leave for the airport but it was only €7 or so. Affordable place in general. A little cold but they have heaters. Great stay overall!

Service was EXCELLENT! We had reserved three rooms and asked for early check because our flight got in so early. The gentleman working at reception was aware and knew who we were when we arrived! Two of our three rooms were available hours before official check in. The receptionist also assisted with directions and was so friendly!!! We were blown away with the customer service! The rooms were small but very cozy and clean. The breakfast was fabulous! We booked direct so we got free breakfast – hotels really appreciate that! Location is great - easy to access to/from DUB via Dublin bus stop on O’Connell street, Tesco nearby, tons of restaurants and shops, walking distance to Temple Bar. We would definitely stay here again!
