A gem of a place. It was an unplanned visit but totally worth the trip. Hats off to all involved in recreating the sites to help us get the best experience. Susan, the Viking was our guide and she was very informative.Guided tour (informal) will take up to 3 hrs, but you are free to explore the place on your own using the maps and join back the guide if interested.Kids are encouraged to participate in activity. Not ideal on a rainy day,as it's an outdoor thing.Toilets present throughout and wheelchair accessible as well. Small playground for children towards the end of the tour. Overall, our family had a good experience and happy that we visited the place.

I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Well worth a visit for any history enthusiasts. I teach these periods at leaving cert level and the level of detail put in to recreating these dwellings is excellent. They run guided tours for people who are unfamiliar in with this history. Well worth the price.

Spread across a huge area just outside Wexford Town, this place is great for a day out. As the name suggest, its irish national heritage park, so you could learn a thing or two about Irish heritage :) I thought this place to be wonderful!

Perfect place to start learning and understanding Ireland's history and culture. To fully savour the experience though, I suggest you dedicate half a day for the entire tour as there are 16 sites all in all. Wear comfortable shoes because you will be doing a lot of walking, approximately around 5-6 kilometres.

Loved it. A fantastic tour. The park is so well kept and easy to follow the tour with clear sign posting all over. The falconry was very good and our tour guide was excellent. Clear and precise with all the information that he gave us.

As an archaeologist, I usually avoid these types of places as they can be a bit cringeworthy and exaggerate. However, I really enjoyed my visit to this place. The tours are really good. Our tour guide Susan was enthusiastic and engaging - but more importantly she was spot on with everything I heard her say. I would definitely recommend for a day out. Unlike historical sites, because they are replicas, you can walk in, and see what it would have been like rather than relying on your imagination and information boards. We we're lucky enough to coincide with a group from UCD trying to build a kiln. I had a very engaging conversation with Brenden. The soup was also good.

Had an amazing day at the national heritage park today with my mum and dog. We were a bit skeptical about going as neither of us would be mad history lovers, only have a mild interest. We had an amazing time and spent over 3 hours there. There is so much to see and do and the park is so beautiful. The park is very well laid out and every stage has a great description. We had a great time and learned so much. The park would also be perfect for kids, lots to keep them entertained. It's also very dog friendly with lots of dog water bowl along the trails. We had tea and scones from the cafe and the food was fresh and service was great. Finally they are doing a great job at ensure that covid regulations are being followed with hand sanitising points everywhere. Thanks for a great day. Will definitely be back.

If you like history, you’ll love this. This place offers an insight into the various early settlers to Ireland and the life they lived. The huts are impressive and a stark reality of how people lived and strived to stay alive. From foraging off the land to evolving and learning to grow crops. There’s plenty to see here and a great place for kids. They have birds of prey you can see, while I didn’t get to see them out of their cage, they were lovely to look at. Overall a good place and great day out for kids. They have a kids play area and you can also bring dogs here. They have a nice restaurant too.

Brilliant tourist attraction. Staff are lovely, tours informative and thoroughly enjoyable to learn about irelands heritage. It is susceptible to flooding to if visiting after heavy rain, maybe call the place to check it’s fully open beforehand. Wild bird exhibit is also fantastic. Keepers are friendly and good for a chat about the birds.

We stopped here for the morning back in the summer on a weekend trip down to Wexford. It was great, my husband and two daughters, age 10 and 9, all loved it too. Great hands on stuff for the kid to play with while getting the tour. It is a lot of walking to do the full tour and it ends with an uphill portion but they stop halfway back t the main building and you could decide if you wanted to meet up the second half that goes up to the tower. The gift shop also had great items at a reasonable price.

Under construction, expansion of the visitor center, restaurant facility during our visit in early May 2023. Wonderful collection of reconstructed viking era and other houses. A mill, gold panning, There are a number of free guided tours. We decided to take the self guided tour.

I really enjoyed visiting here in October. The staff are super friendly and we got a map on arrival of the sites to visit. The Park took about 2 1/2 hours to get around but you could take as long as you like. There is a coffee shop on site it's a bit pricey but worth it or you could bring a picnic. All the sites bar the last are very accessible. If you were going to the last site it's up hill so anyone pushing a wheel chair or buggy could do it (there are lots of benches along the way) but it would be a bit of an effort. Great place to visit

Great spot for a day out. Suitable for all ages. Weather would be a factor so you may well need to bear that in mind, however you won't melt, so no issues really. Might be best to book on line before you ga as they limit volumes in the oark at any one time (which is a good idea). Only one issue really, and that is the size of the car park.

A lot of time and effort has gone into replicating this timeline experience. All outdoor so you need the weather to be favourable. Added bonus that dogs are allowed. Good use of half a day.

A nice place to go and very helpful staff and informative. Plenty of toilets jotted throughout the site and a very good idea outside in the car park. This happens to be a picnic are covered in so u can enjoy a picnic with your family even in the rain. I think this is a great idea as anyone with a big family who cannot afford to to go to the resturant or any person with food allergys who has to bring there own food. The canteen is roomy and has a good menu. Would like to see a better selection of icreams. A good selection of cakes.

We had an amazing visit here. We joined the "Viking Invasion" tour with a brilliant guide called Ciarán. Told a brilliant story and really made engaging. The site was wonderful too with replica buildings from all different times in Irish history. Highly recommended.

Great way to spend the day, cloudy or sunny. Well-cared for and unchanged since I was tiny. Informative and fun. Returned at 25 to show my Brazilian partner ancient Irish history and we were fully invested! The falconry is brill

Visited on a Sunday, May 2023. Not busy. Great experience, excellent tour guide. Child friendly, spent hours exploring, the adventure playground on the hill was a hit. Lots of building work/upgrading going on at the entrance/visitor centre. New and very clean toilets. Small gift shop. Would definitely visit again.

We spend almost two hours here, could easily have done more. The first section of the park is very well organized but the second half feels like a mish-mash. We came on a Wednesday a few hours before closing on our way to Dublin and there were very few people there. Nice views from the end.

Such a great place and great attention to detail. The smell of the real fires burning gives the experience a completely different feel. . Each exhibition has an activity for children. It's perfect for kids and pets are allowed too. You need time to appreciate the entire exhibition. The fairy garden is a cute idea but could do with a bit of maintenance. Overall a very good experience and it was great learning more on Irish history.

Fantastic day spent in the Heritage Park with the family. From the get go the staff were extremely friendly and beyond helpful. Food was delicious in the restaurant plus the all important coffee was exceptional. We opted for the guided tours of the park and I feel the tour guides ( Ciarán and Derek) made the day. These lads deserve a pay rise as the way they conducted themselves and the level of engagement with the kids in answering questions was great to see.I cannot recommend the Heritage Park and its staff highly enough, we'll definitely be back👍

We had a wonderful experience on our visit to the Heritage Park in July. The park is very well maintained and staff are very friendly and helpful. Lots of guided tours. I really enjoyed seeing the magnificent birds in the falconry and talking to Jim O'Connor who gave us great information on all his beautiful birds. Well worth a visit.

The park is great if you love history, covers Irelands progression from prehistoric times to the Norman invasion. Amenities were good as well, the food at the restaurant was good quality and it has free parking.

Great open air museum. They do free guided tours. The falconry is amazing. The lady at ticket desk was very friendly and helpful. The tour guide was great and the guy at the falconry was very friendly and showed us a lovely 14 week old falcon Lovely views of the river from the top of the hill

Our first time here and my son LOVED it! We were hoping for a guided tour but somehow missed it :( even though we missed the tours we were able to garner alot of information from the plaques in front of each station. It was a well spent afternoon.

Absolutely loved the place. Really well laid out. Loads of hand sanitizer at different locations around the park and a fairly one way system. Very impressed. I will definitely recommend and will definitely return
