The best place for a nice hike around Dublin! Very easy to get to, just take the bus H3 from the city centre and in app. 1 hour you are there. We started at the lighthouse and hiked up, then we went down to the little beach which was lovely and then continued to follow the path till the end. It is not very challenging and you get the best view especially when the weather is nice. We were very lucky with sunny and warm weather. If you have some extra time and are looking for a hike in Dublin, this is definitely the place!

Spectacular day out in Howth! The walk was gorgeous! The trail was clearly marked, it wasn’t too busy when we arrived around 10:00am. It took us about 2.5 hours from the train station round trip with stops along the way to admire the view. The beginning is a decent incline so expect to work for it. Later the trail is a steady mild incline to the turn around at the upper parking lot.

Amazing views. Great places to take photos. Stunning. Cheap train ride from Dublin, and you get to this cute village and can already see the ocean and some mountains right after getting out of the train station. After that, prepare to walk a lot. Use comfy shoes and take a bottle of water with you. The shortest walk is arround 2 hours. And it is simply astonishing. There are longer and more defying options. Just follow the signs during the path to guide you.

One of the most amazing hiking experiences of my life!!!! The scenery is amazing!!!! We were lucky and we had sunny weather so we were able to enjoy the route and to get some very beautiful pictures and videos!!!! It's an easy path to follow and a hiking experience is not a requirement. Just wear some comfortable shoes, take your camera and some water and you will have an amazing experience in Ireland, full of wild beauty!!! You can have an easy access to Howth from Dublin by train :) :)

I did it many times and each time I'm always stunned by the beauty. I can never get tired of it. You need good trekking shoes, water and food, since there are no refreshment stations, good sun cream and sunglasses, as there is no shade at all, and the sun and the wind together can be very strong and you want to avoid heat waves in the evening.

Great alternative to cliffs of Moher, especially if you are short of time. It is only 45 min by bus to the Howth summit from Dublin O'Connell center. Taking the bus saves the hike to the summit and then you follow the loop down the cliff, which takes approx an hour. It is windy so def bundle up. Gorgeous views overall. Once down explore the Howth pier and market. We took the dart train back to the city which is faster than bus.

One of my favourite places in the whole world. The hike is easy and the views are breath-taking. Either way you decide to have a walk with your friends or alone, you will feel good and energised. The winds get a bit strong during the spring and autumn, but it gives just a little bit different experience without leaving you dissapointed. Definitely visit if you're planning on comming to visit Dublin. 😍

This is a must when visiting Dublin. So close and reachable by public transit. Beautiful trails by the sea, just breathtaking views. This has definitely been some of our favorite's day trips from Dublin. The town is also beautiful and you can do a trip by boat to the small island. So worth it!!!

Amazing views!! We took an Uber to the parking lot nearby instead of hiking. It was only a 5-10 minute walk to the cliffs and nearby the lighthouse. You can’t actually get close to the light house but it doesn’t really matter because the views are so breathtaking. Honestly one of the best things we’ve seen in Dublin, Ireland. It was well worth the trip!

The trip to Howth from Dublin is only 30 min by train and the return ticket is only 6 euro. Half a day is enough and enjoyable. At the cliff walk, you can enjoy amazing views of a serene landscape if the weather is clear. The walk is long though, so you need to go prepared, carrying water, and not heavy bag or heavy coats.

To get to Howth you can take the train in Dublin and head in this direction, it'll take you about 30 minutes and about 5€ return ticket. Once you get to Howth walk up the hill up to this Trail. Amazing views, just be a bit careful as a part of the trail goes near the edge of the cliff. My recommendation is to go as close as possible to the lighthouse and then start the return. Plan a minimum of 2 to 3 hours to do the trail

This trail is very easy with great views, albeit a little slippery in winter weather. Easily accessible via public transportation, this trail offered a great day trip from our stay in Dublin

Beautiful scenery. There's no reason not to have the walk if you visit Howth. There's also a route that you can walk down to the beach

Beautiful walk and stunning views all round. It was sunny and from the train station it was clearly labelled the different routes but we did miss our way a bit but found our way back on the trail. We got the train from Connolly station and the last stop was Howth, so nice and easy. We enjoyed the looped walk taking us back to the station and then went to restaurant to have some yummy seafood. Would recommend.

When you are in Dublin you also really need to go to Howth! From the train station we did the green route and it was amazing! Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy but the views and nature is great!

The scenery is just amazing! If you get a good day and are down tor sunrise, it’s wonderful to watch the sun rise across the bay and to feel the heat of the sun on your face and listening to the sea crashing the rocks around you. Plenty of walkers early morning, some going for a swim in a secluded bay, some people fishing off the rocks. The views to the Baily lighthouse, across the bay to Poolbeg and the Wicklow mountains make it so worth it. Some of the paths are steep and very narrow; it’s a cliff walk after all! Do it!!

Came here 2 times. First time was raining so just get the seafood in Pier Restaurant (super yummy fine dining style.) Second time the weather was gorgeous so we took a happy sunny a little bit windy hike. The view is breathtaking, for someone who had knee surgery like me, it's not that difficult, but it's quite a long walk. We hike all the way up later took a bud no 6 to train station and the ride is 1.70 Euro. Highly recommended. Even traveler like us from San Francisco enjoy this kind of train journey for good hike and good seafood.

Breathtaking views. Walk from the bottom of the pier to the lighthouse is nicer than higher walk beginning from the summit, in my opinion.

Great relaxing family friendly alternative to the busy and for small kids dangerous Cliff Walk. With Historical site EIRE6 and beautifully located houses and one with Alpacas!

Very great hike. Utilization varies depending on the time of day and season. In the holiday season it is sometimes already very crowded. But the nature compensates for everything else. Be sure to take the time and go down the stairs to the beach, this invites you to linger. I can only recommend the hike and would actually do it again on my next visit to Dublin.

Great morning trip from Dublin!! We were visiting for only a few days but were able to take an east Uber ride to the cliff walk. It was an excellent hike and insanely beautiful. It was also very quiet and almost no people were there in the morning. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Dublin or nearby.

I've been there on a rainy day but the view from the cliffs was so beautiful. You can take loads of nice pictures and I'll never forget the view and the landscape. There are also different paths/hiking ways you can explore, if you don't want to walk that long.

the view along the way is breathtaking! saw some marine animals poking their head out on the water. overall, this cliff walk, imo, is better than the bray to greystones walk in the south and the trails in western ireland (cause poor visibility). the pathway is unguarded but still quite safe and easy, just can be muddy at some spots. the bus system nearby is also functional so quite accessible without a car.

Breathtaking vistas, abundant wild berries, exquisite wildflowers, and a delightful walking experience make this place a must-visit. The stunning scenery guarantees a return trip for me.

Came here in the end of March. Weather was sunny, although very windy :) Beautiful route which leads from the cliffs, down to actual Howth town. There you can take a bus back to Dublin. Cliff walk is pretty easy, even for a non-experienced hiker (there are a few routes and you can choose a more difficult one if needed)

Highlight of our trip To Ireland! Don’t leave without visiting here You need to park at the bottom of the hill. There was parking closer but we weren’t able to figure out how to get out there with the car. Breathtaking views. Little farm lands. Mild hike. Walking buy horses and cows. The sea is crystal and I fell in love with this country on this hike.
