Amazing views - even when it’s cloudy! We took an Uber to the parking lot nearby instead of hiking. It was only a 5-10 minute walk to the cliffs and nearby the lighthouse. You can’t actually get close to the light house but it doesn’t really matter because the views are so breathtaking. Honestly one of the best things we’ve seen in Dublin, Ireland. It was well worth the trip!

A breath-taking view, I would say It's one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. I did the purple trail and for some reason in the end I walked 12 Km (from the train station back). But the terrain is very flat so you don't feel tired. It is just an amazing hike to do, it's super close to dublin and you can disconnect from the busy city and connect with nature.

Beautiful hike along the coast and cherry on top; Bailey Lighthouse. Awesome spot for sunsets. Windy from time to time but the views compensate it. Good spot for a picnic. Have to be careful when walking along the cliffs, especially with children. Definitely recommend for a hike from either Howth city OR from Martello Tower.

Great little hike on the cliffside. Lighthouse itself had no access, but still a great view. We found a small secret beach that was worth the extra steps

Amazing walk! Do not be afraid of doing this trail! It is like 2 hs walk totally worth it! It is mostly flat superficie and the views are stunning I strongly recommend grabbing water and Snack, you can stop at the middle point have a rest and recharge to get to the lighthouse.

I've seen this lighthouse about several times and it's a beautiful lighthouse. I am not sure if it is open to the public because I think it might be a private property.

A beautiful and romantic place, it's bad that the lighthouse was closed, I think it opens in the summer when there are a lot of tourists

It is a very windy place, so takes your precautions, and stay off the edges. It's obviously cold, especially If you are visiting in the winter months, but 'cold' is still an understatement. Even if it's midday and the sky is clear, you will need to have a thermal cold-proof, wind-proof jacket for the hike. Otherwise, the place offers a view of Dublin's coast and the background Wicklow mountains. The lighthouse itself is off-limits.

We hiked (walked) out here mid afternoon and it was very pleasant and easy. You can pick between several different distances for a total round trip and get some decent views along the way. Not too crowded especially once you get a few minutes in. Seems like most people start turning around pretty early! Once you get to lighthouse, if you keep going, the rest of the trains (more or less) are around local driving roads so you won't have many good views for the second half.

Place to represent Irelands nature, feeling of windy solitude among rugged rocks and murky sea

It looks the exact same as on the pictures!! So beautiful and totally worth to visit. Especially on a sunny day, because then you might be lucky and be able to see Liverpool! ;)

No Entry. The lighthouse itself is private property so you can't even get close to it. The nearby view is stunning though, even if it isn't worth a special trip.

Baily Lighthouse is an iconic landmark that stands proudly on the rugged cliffs of Howth, Ireland. The lighthouse itself is a magnificent structure, steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The panoramic views of the Irish Sea and the coastal landscape are simply mesmerizing. The lighthouse offers a glimpse into the maritime heritage of the region and serves as a beacon of light for ships navigating the treacherous waters. The surrounding trails and pathways provide an opportunity for delightful walks and hikes, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the stunning scenery.

The way to the lighthouse is not opened so it’s only possible to see it from the view point. But howth and the cliff walk there are worth a visit.

a long walk that is very worthwhile, a beautiful place with breathtaking landscapes, a pity that we can't enter the lighthouse but we can have a nice view, and ther's a lot to walk in the region. a place that should be mandatory to go to at least once when visiting dublin.
