    If I could give it zero stars, I would. Complete lack of clarity. Apparently Ireland is one of the only countries in the world that doesn't accept your normal car insurance and instead requires it to be from a credit card. The man at the counter tried to blame me for not knowing that... when the only thing it says in the rental agreement is if you don't have your own insurance, you will be required to purchase theirs! Nothing regarding Ireland's policies. I've used dozens of rental cars in various countries and never experienced this. Because of their policy, I had to waste time picking up our rental car to call my credit card company to verbally confirm that it did in fact cover us (even though it said it in my policy documents) and the guy acted like he was doing us a favour by not requiring it in writing... this is ridiculous! Also, needed $5000 as a hold on my credit card. I have to sit there in their office and pay off my credit card bill to make way for the $5000 needed. Still awaiting for these holds to be removed from my credit card after being told they would be removed in 3 business days.

    I rented a car for a long weekend in March from the Dublin city centre branch of Sixt. I was given a practically new car (Renault Clio registered in 2021) that was a higher category than what I originally booked. I was given the car with a full tank (as expected) and spotless inside. As I chose to return the car on a Sunday after-hours, I was given the option to return it the next (Monday) morning before opening hours for free, if desired. I initially reserved the car online with my debit card, however upon collection I had to use my credit card to pay the excess and fuel deposit, unless I paid the daily extra rate for a zero excess cover. This is a fairly standard procedure for renting a car, from my experience. The only downside from my experience is that the deposit remained blocked from my credit card for a few weeks after the booking, which was much later than the 10 working days I was told to expect. Despite this, I was impressed by the prompt and helpful customer service, whom answered my queries over email. Overall, I had a great experience with Sixt and will definitely be returning to the company in the future. In fact, I have booked another car trip with Sixt for the next month.

    BEWARE OPAQUE EXCESS FEES! As mentioned by other reviewers, I was required to put down a €1500 hold for excess. Staff tried telling my partner and I that this is standard for rental car companies (presumably because we're young and they thought we were naive), which it definitely isn't. It appears that this policy is hidden within T&Cs. Funnily enough, you can reduce the €1500 hold for excess by paying for enhanced cover. This would have taken our total rental fee from ~€350 to over €700. It appears that this unexpected €1500 hold policy is there to 'encourage' customers to pay more (cynically you could say it's there to punish/manipulate people who don't have €1500 spare in their account). Also, for some reason it takes 30 days to release funds, which is entirely unreasonable. Beyond this, our initial car was covered in scuffs and scratches which weren't recorded, so CHECK THE CAR before accepting it. The staff offered us a replacement car which was great and we had no issues with. Return was hassle-free and the staff were nice upon our return. Won't be using Sixt again though.

    I had never heard of Sixt in the US, so some trepidation at the Dublin counter. Igor handled things like a champ and got me checked in and out the door pretty efficiently. The car ended up being a Ford Kuga, which is not a model here in the states so that was unusual. I would have preferred a smaller vehicle after experiencing the back roads, so get a Mini Cooper or such if you can. I took all of the insurance coverage possible which ended up being a good thing. There was a very large stick that somehow got in the undercarriage and punctured the water coolant line. That coupled with all of the scratches down the left side of the car from hedges on every back road, and it was nice to not be burdened with extra paperwork when I turned the car in. The roadside assistance worked out easily for me because I luckily broke down fifteen minutes away from a service center. Calling in to the number which was very clearly available on the paperwork that I took from the rental counter was easy and the guys on the other end were very helpful. Don't know when I will travel and need a rental car in another country again, but I will be happy to see if this brand is available there.     We arrived about 15 minutes before our designated pick up time. The queue was short and moved quite swiftly. The clerk was very cordial and explained everything clearly and professionally. As we made the rental reservation before reserving our accommodation, and realizing there is a Sixt office closer to our accommodation, we requested to be able to return the car at the closer office. Not only was our request to return the car at the more convenient office was accepted, we were also allowed to return the car after the office had closed and without additional costs. The car was exactly what we requested. It was clean and ran smoothly. I would have preferred the clutch release to be set a bit lower, but that's the only "fault" I could find. We will definitely use Sixt services when we visit Dublin again.

    Very good customer service. Courteous and very patient staff giving all the required information in the right manner. Even though I didn't get a chance to avail their service as the booking contracts are a little less flexible and the total cost would've amounted a bit over the top for me the variety of cars it had in it's fleet intrigued me to know more about their offerings. Would definitely book sometime in future.

    The car was great and comfortable as well as the way to take it out in the parking lot. They have also a post box where you can drop the keys 24h and don't need to wait the opening time. Annemarie was the one who attended us and was super kind, fast and professional. We will be back to this unit to rent again.

    Simply - don't rent a car here. I've paid 270Euro for one car that has 6 seats in order to accommodate my family who was visiting. I booked the car for 12.30 and showed up at 1 o'clock. To my surprise "the car wasn't there yet". We were a little upset because my whole family had to wait with me in the car park now. The manager told me there is another car on the way from the airport, it is on its way. Usually with no traffic the car would be here in 20 minutes, but with traffic it might be a little longer. "A little longer" turned out to be 1hour and 20 minutes. No words. So much disrespect. A) How can you not request another car earlier, if you see that people don't bring cars back in time. B) Why would you lie to my face and tell me to wait " a little longer than 20 minutes" and let me wait for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Manager kept hiding in the end when I asked him to call the driver and request an update where he/she is. Other companies try anything to make the customer happy or at least give a discount - nothing here. It is not worth the money.

    Such an awesome experience with customer service. There was a line of people waiting to get their car and the man working the counter was so incredibly kind and positive and hilarious! I’ve experienced many places where the person working the counter is annoyed by the amount of people there, but not here!! Also-amazing car!

    Great experience renting from this location. Staff were friendly, prompt and didn’t try to upsell any unnecessary extras. I booked an Economy level car (Astra or similar) and got a Seat Arona. I had booked to pickup at 10am and arrived at 9.50am, I pretty much walked straight in, however when I was leaving there was a lineup so I’d advise getting there a few minutes before your booking so as to avoid the rush of everyone arriving on the hour.

    Superb experience. Mr. Pavel was really diligent walking me through the whole process and details of my booking. It was quick and he really wanted us to have a great time with our car. It was definitely appreciated. I will definitely be using more Sixt bookings if not only Sixt for the future. As they say "you get what you pay for". And the service from Sixt is always on the highest level. And the return process was super easy as the parking garage where they are located is 24/7 operated so can just leave the car there and drop the keys in their Sixt locker.     My experience that was proven good at pick up went upside down… In the pick up I was suggested to include the tyres protection and I was quite happy (what explains my good evaluation at pick up), BUT after using the road service (middle of Dublin city), where I need to wait one hour, a quite rude service (it’s a 3rd party , I can understand), had to pay despite having the insurance, they took long to send a receipt, I need to give back the car with no receipt and now, asking for the reimburse 230 euros, it was informed I can receive only 83….. So no,,,, the experience turn really bad.

    I don’t think I can express truly how satisfied I am with the service received each time from Sixt! From the welcome to the farewell and dropping keys off at the counter I have had the greatest experiences with every team member. This time I had the absolute pleasure talking with Emma at Dublin Airport and it was the smoothest, most joyful customer service experience. They genuinely help you with everything, they want the handling to be as quick and smooth and it always is. The best car rental service provider ever 🙏🏼 I mean it!!

    I recently rented a car twice from Sixt while in Dublin and the service was excellent! I was able to reserve a car in both instances without issue. I wanted an automatic since I’m not used to lefthand drive and not have to worry about shifting while driving and was rented a very nice Toyota. The reservation & checkout was fast and easy and the return was as well. I highly recommended them if ever in need of a rental.

    Excellent experience. The car was nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and return was a breeze.. 500% recommended Only thing i can think of is to have lower insurance cost. Everyone wants full protection but it cost more than car rent itself which is down side. But overall Perfect experience

    A great stop for rentals especially when your trips are for 2 or more nights. The service was simply professional and customer friendly. A special mention for Mr, Andrei at the desk who did a splendid job in sorting cars for our group of 10 members. They were happy to swap one car which was not satisfactory for trips. Definitely recommended to everyone looking for cars to hire!

    Ireland is the most amazing place on Earth.. The history and culture is everywhere, side streets, alleyways, countryside and mountains, Cliffs and shorelines. I will be back for sure!! I will also be renting another vehicle from Sixt again. Rental car was great, your colleague offered a free upgrade due to the number of bags we arrived with and this alone made our trip more enjoyable.

    I highly recommend using Sixt if you are looking to rent a car in Ireland. I am under 25, so when my partner and I visited, we were rejected from Budget, which led us to have to find another car rental company last minute. Sixt had a car available for us in 15 minutes. Without any advance booking, and with the under-age-25 fee, and 4 days, and returning without a full tank of gas, it cost about 415 euros, which we considered a steal. They were extremely helpful and the staff were lenient when we returned our car a few hours late. The car, which we were able to pick up from this very central location, was in great shape and a perfect size! Thank you Sixt!

    Guy in front of us walked out saying "worst company ever, wasted 3 hours of my life" so we should've known better. Requested credit card paperwork claiming it would be standard with all car rental companies. Went elsewhere for less money and no made up paperwork request.

    Dublin City Centre was packed for pick up that day (a renter had wrecked a car shortly after pick up, thus leaving the office team short-handed while troubleshooting). I waited in line with everyone else and was happy to note that the team worked diligently with every person coming through the door and when we got our car and reported a crack in the windshield, the Sixt team quickly got us a replacement as they felt it unsafe for us to drive Ireland with a crack of that size. The Renault Clio we were given was perfect for maneuvering southern Ireland and we had a blast.

    Service was very good upon arrival. We got a free upgrade to a hybrid and automatic car which was a bonus and made the drive much more enjoyable especially if you’re new to left side driving. Would recommend Sixt based on this experience.

    Got there an hour later and they informed me I no longer had a car. When asked what we could do l, they "managed to get another car". Then I was told I would have to leave a 800€ deposit or upgrade my insurance for full cover. I decided to upgrade my insurance to 86€ and now I still had to do a 100€ deposit for gas. I accepted and paid the extra 186€. Returned the car with full gas and never saw my deposit again. I am now opening a complaint with Sixt. On a side note, the manager inside was yelling and insulting his staff. I imagine he would not expect me to understand Spanish as he was swearing at his staff... If you really need to rent from Sixt, go to Stephen's Green as I heard CS there is better.

    When we arrived to pick up our vehicle their computer systems were having a problem. But this didn’t stop us from getting excellent customer service and they even upgraded our vehicle for the trouble. The prices they quoted were exactly what we were charged, there were no surprise fees. There were about 8 people waiting in line on this day due to system troubles and we received excellent care, they took the time to explain all the coverages that we had opted for. When we couldn’t figure out how to start our electric car they even ran someone out to us to assist immediately allowing us to get on the road as soon as possible. After a different horror stories from other companies I’ve been reading online, I am happy to report this company is everything and more that they claim to be thank you for five star service

    Good prices, nice staff. Just make sure to read the confirmation email and see that credit card is needed. I saw an angry customer because he did not have credit card, every company has its policies and most of rental agencies I have rented before do require credit card as far as I know.
