This is a very precious land for Ireland history. Besides that, sit down on a bench Carlingford in Carlingford Lough walk, and watch a sunset , Carlingford ferry passing and seagulls flying, it is like a dream! This is a picture that you will never forget. ❀️

Walk the Greenway between Omeath and Carlingford, enjoy the scenery. Watch out for the cyclist's, some haven't been on a bike in twenty years. Have β˜• and πŸŽ‚ in CafΓ© Rosa Omeath, or The Orchard Bakery Carlingford.

Great seaside town that’s retained a bit of local Irish character... several old ruins, a couple interesting craft / antique places, good enough pub fare... the outdoors is the star of the show though! GREAT hiking, walks, water sports, things to do that will help work up a sweat and give you a sense of accomplishment / earning a pint when done. 😜. Made our way up to the top of mountain outside of town... essentially followed sheep tracks... was Awesome.

Carlingford, well one could pretty much find anything they want in the village itself . But has changed enormously over the last 5 decades . Driving the change was pubs experience being marketed after they won the tidy towns . The once sleepy not so well known wee town evolved out of all that into what's now a holiday village and pubs, bistros all getting a bit of the mass crowds of visitors that befall the tiny village each weekend of the year . Not all the economic success can be said to be good at all. Drunken hen parties and stag nights have ruined the night out for a quiet pint for any locals , I for one stopped going to it many years ago because of the disgraceful non moralistic drunken groups spilling out of the pubs and falling down on the street . Blocking cars going through all weekend nights . It's a joke gone badly wrong . The few only are becoming very wealthy only out of it all . And they are the pub owners and the bistros. Carlingford village could in all honesty be only described as a village of thuggery by drunken youth groups and massive groups of non nationals NOW unvetted swarmed in by holiday village organisers . The others groups are unvetted refugees in massive numbers invited in and bulk money being made by the very few at the unrepeatable damaging cost to our local people and our living in its midst locally . Carlingford in my experience is a NO go zone run by the greedy few
