Went for a meal at Joel’s this afternoon. Absolutely fantastic service even though the place was packed. Food was sublime. I ordered the chefs special for the starters and main, today it was muscles in a coconut cream and chili sauce, and shrimp stir fried egg noodles. Desert was also fantastic and helped cool down the spiciness of the previous dishes 😂 (toffee and honeycomb sundae). Really recommend Joels, will defiantely be coming back soon! (Forgot to take a pic of the muscles, it looked so good i didnt waste anytime to eat)

Food and service is consistently good, it has been main reason for return Cocktail experience pre-pandemic and last visit: worst cocktails I have ever had. Piña colada wasn’t even sweet nor did feel any alcohol in it, felt like €10 lemonade. Ordered beer and gave that lemonade to my wife - definitely need to step up cocktail quality. Place looks like refurbishment is long overdue: dirty carpet, cracked seat fabrics, air con need to be cleaned. You can see these things from afar.

This was a lovely surprise. We were looking for a place to go for lunch on Sunday and this was the obvious choice. My family was returning for the 3rd time and for me, it was the first time. Everything we ate tasted good. The fritters the ribs, the chips, the wings and everything else was amazing. I had the best Mac & Cheese in my life at this place. You would have to try it for yourself if you are a fan of this meal. The service was exceptional. We ha

Came here many times as a child and came back recently (almost 30) to relive the nostalgia and not a thing has changed. Same amazing menu (and desserts!), if you want a walk up nostalgia Lane, definitely check out Joel's ❤️

Visited for the 1st time post lockdown recently and was disappointed to see that they had whittled their menu right down leaving very limited options. The main attraction about Joel's in the past was that you were guaranteed to find something that appealed to everyone on their expansive menu. On this occasion half our party ended up just ordering a starter for lack of enticing mains options. The food that was ordered was nice enough, but nothing special. The positives were a short waiting time for a table, prompt service once order was placed and lovely friendly staff. The restaurant was clean, as were the toilets, but overall due to the limited menu, we won't be rushing back.

The ambience of the restaurant is nice and approach to it is also very good. However, we ordered all varieties of food including vegetarian, seafood, ice cream, chicken, etc. The quality of food was not at all great. The preparation was a bit different for Thai curry, the fusion they did with it was beyond our understanding. The staff and service quality was poor and unsatisfactory.

My reason for given 2 stars is due to the food we had, it was reasonably ok and reasonably priced. If I could give zero stars for the cleanliness of restaurant, and some of the staff in deep conversation with each other and the constant checking out their social media on phones. Restaurant badly needs an overhaul top to bottom and some staff members need to be retrained in customer service . I will say the toilets were very clean, but unfortunately it stopped there.

Love Joel’s so much. I was there Saturday evening at about 6.30. You can’t book it on weekends unless there is a big party but the wait was not long.we had a drink at the bar and got called for our table within 30mins. We both got the battered mushrooms with garlic dip to start and the portion size was very generous. For the main I got the sea bass with prawns and sautéed potatoes and my partner got the prawn dish with rice. The total cost for two starters, two mains and 4 drinks was under €90 . All the staff members we encountered were lovely and the service from Cormac was excellent. Very good value for money and look forward to my next visit there.

Loved this place, went for a party and the staff where lovely, the food was amazing and so was the atmosphere, the kids where entertained by the guy at the pizza oven and he gave them some dough to play with, I got the ribs and chicken combo and it was amazing, the chips where also really god, the ribs where sticky, sweet bbq, and the wings where hot, the chips where perfect, then u got a brownie for dessert and it was really good, I could reccomend this place for small dining or a big party.

One of my worst experiences. So unsanitary. The seats we were sitting on was full of crumbs, salt, I even found a hair! So that was a wonderful start. The food we ordered wasn't bad but got worse each bite, I ordered the turkey dinner. The only nice thing there was the chips and the drinks. Never going back there again. I feel like washing my clothes and taking a shower after that.

As a pretty much life long supporter and customer, I am afraid to say the standard of food has declined over the years. I stopped getting the roast beef which is thinly sliced and rubbery if left under the warmer on the plate. Turkey & Ham dinner also disappointed as rubbery, the mash (is it prepacked and frozen?) was dreadful. Tasteless, non creamy and tepid. Didn't bother with dessert - which are usually very nice but really couldn't be bothered after the dinner. 2 dinners, tea coffee and a beer was e52.00. Service was excellent as always, the restaurant is lovely with plenty of parking. Food was unpleasant and now overpriced, particularly for the quality. I will be giving Joel's a miss for a while.

Food is nice and wholesome family diner food. The portion sizes are good and the quality is pretty consistent however it's way over priced. I don't know for sure but I feel there's been a pretty big increase in the price, I understand its been tough for businesses during the pandemic however I just don't feel the its the prices matches the food or atmosphere.

This place is a long-time family favourite of ours. The food is always really nice however we were disappointed on this trip with the lack of options on the menu. We were waiting an hour for a table and realised after that there’s about a quarter of the menu available when compared with the year before. Joel’s is known for its garlic Kiev and this has been removed from the menu, couldn’t believe it. The food we got was nice to be fair and the staff were sound too. Please revise your menu!

Stopped off for food on the way back up from a family event on a Saturday evening and as we hadn't been in here for a few years we decided to stop off. The restaurant was very busy, but we got a seat quickly and the staff were over immediately...very efficient considering the busyness of the place. A special shoutout to Marouf our waiter, who, considering how busy he was had time to chat, be super friendly and offered outstanding service to us. The food was delicious (I had the fish and chips which was amazing), and the portions were huge. The chips...we both agreed were probably the nicest we've ever had...so good! I actually cant say anything bad about this place. Highly recommended and I'm not leaving it as long to come back.

You won't find a better homley restaurant atmosphere to celebrate your Sweet Sixteen or 21st or 50th Birthday or a girls night out, whatever the occasion, Joel's is the perfect location, easy access from M50 J9 or N7, you will enjoy the friendly staff, great food, and beautiful panoramic giant wall to wall glazed front. Personally I've celibrated more happy memories at Joel's than I can remember. Forget the hassle of traveling to a city restaurant and enjoy free parking and very reasonable prices not matched in the city.

Decent food, decent menu. Enjoyable. Basic but enjoyable. The service was ok, young staff, so you need to give them quite a bit of direction but most of the order was right. It's quite a busy spot so can be a bit loud but is fine. Limited parking.

I was always very impressed with the food in Joel's until my recent visit. I organised a family Christmas meal for 8 adults. The night turned out to be a total disaster and I was left feeling embarrassed as I had suggested Joel's and said how good the food was. 3 of the 8 got the duck it was so over cooked it was like crispy rasher. Myself I got the salmon it too was overcooked and dry. We mentioned it when paying the bill. The person at the till ask was it the duck and she said others had complained about it and said she would say it to the chef. DEFINITELY NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I would have expected more from a restaurant of Joel's reputation. A very disappointed customer. 😞

As usual, food was gorgeous. It was busy, so great buzz in the place. Ended up waiting ages on a simple jug of water, otherwise, I can give out. Toilets were a bit of a mess, but as I said , place was busy. Always a good meal and good fun had when we visit Joel's

A big restaurant on the outskirts of Dublin City centre. By all reports a very iconic restaurant amongst Dubliners. The have exceptionally professional staff with skills and training which seem almost above what you'd expect from the type of establishment. The food is very good - my pizza was absolutely delicious. Always busy even on week nights, winter and summer. I would certainly recommend for good no frills food.

I hadn't been to Joels in years. A very pleasant surprise, soup was so fresh and homemade. I had fish and chips, again so fresh and well cooked. The gentleman who served us very helpful and friendly. We will be back.

Great place for casual dining. Very efficient, no reservation needed, when busy they give you a buzzer and you can wait in the bar. Food has really improved, the salmon was delicious. Great range of desserts and cocktails as well. Highly recommend

We were out with family. No problem getting a table even though they were quite busy. Service was fast and very professional while very friendly too. Food was lovely. A good choice on the menu. Prices were average . Tables were well spaced out and lots of room.

Thought the food was pretty poor. They need to implement a dress code as you have people walking around in tracksuits

  • 5/5 Olivia N. 2 years ago on Google
Food never disappoints! They always make a perfect steak. There’s always something for everyone on the menu and you’re never waiting too long for your food to come even when it’s packed. Great service always!

I was so impressed with the whole place, lots of space to cater for large groups, I didn't need to book a table prior to arriving. The service was quick and very good, the staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was amazing, i would definitely recommend it to friends and will go again

I cannot recommend here enough, every single member of staff we encountered were just fantastic. I called yesterday to reserve a table for myself, my husband and our daughter to celebrate her communion, usually they wouldn't take a booking for a party so small, I explained my daughter has autism amongst other issues so they took a booking and seated us immediately upon arrival. We were greeted upon arrival by a lovely lady, seated, followed by 3 different waiter's and waitresses, who looked after us so well and they were extremely busy with communion parties. They all made my daughter feel at ease and made her feel so special. You've gotten my daughters approval as the fanciest place ever (her words). She wants to return very soon (she has never approved of any other restaurant before). Thank you so much, we will most definitely be returning. The food was absolutely delicious..

Had the most amazing food here this evening in Joel's. Fantastic service too. The staff are amazing our server was Jennifer a wonderful warm hearted person. Her attention to detail serving her customers was fantastic. Very chatty person she was telling that she's from South Africa and been employed here 21 years. Well done Jennifer we will be back. The two lads from Tipperary and Limerick

Excellent service. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. There's very little that I can eat due to intolerance but they had vegan cheese and gluten free buns. The food was delicious 😋 Will definitely be returning. Very enjoyable

I've been going to Joel's since I was a kid and have very happy memories of this place. The entrance always being entertaining for me and my siblings. The food has always been top notch and menu has remained relatively unchanged. Can't go wrong with the turkey and ham. Maltesers Sunday is a great recommendation too if you're looking for something sweet. Just a really solid restaurant overall.

Had a booking for new years eve and Joel's cancelled it without consulting us first. Been a loyal customer for years but will never step foot back in this place ever again. How dare they cancel our booking

  • 1/5 Sean S. 2 years ago on Google
Booked as a family like we do every year for new years. We were aware of the restrictions & would've been flexible, however they went and cancelled our booking and didn't give us an option then told us they gave our booking to another party. Fuming isn't the word. Disgusted with joels for ruining our new years plans 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Went to Joels on Wednesday evening, didn’t have a booking but there was a wait time for a table we didn’t mind as we could have a drink in the bar. Our vaccine certs and ID were checked which made us feel a lot safer. Food was delicious, nice big portions. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely return back.

Lovely restaurant. Very friendly staff. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Food is fab. Roasted veg and the mash/chips were gorgeous. The beef today was a bit tough but my husband had Turkey and ham and it was fab. Wud recommend it

I haven't visited this restaurant for a number of years but going back in was exactly as I remembered. The food was excellent and the staff as quick and efficient as ever. I don't know why I haven't gone here for a while but I will definitely be returning more often now. Excellent food for a decent price. Tip : try the banana boat. Amazing.
