The
Range
is
the
type
of
store
that
one
wanders
in
for
one
thing
and
finds
other
things
that
one
doesn't
realise
that
one
needs
:)
However,
today's
experience
in
the
LIffey
Valley
branch
personifies
why
The
Range
is
relatively
empty
when
so
many
other
stores
are
thronged
with
people...
Simply
put,
there
are
a
lot
of
staff
around
but
none
are
interested
in
customers,
most
are
huddled
catching
up
on
gossip...
Today,
I
managed
to
go
through
the
entire
store,
pick
out
what
I
didn't
know
that
I
needed,
go
to
the
cash
desk
where
there
was
no
queue
-
just
two
employees
loudly
complaining
about
something
or
other
happening
in
their
lives,
put
my
things
down,
eventually
had
them
scanned,
paid
for
them,
and
had
them
picked
up
...
all
with
not
even
an
acknowledgement
that
I,
the
customer
existed,
as
the
gossip
was
far
more
important
that
the
customer
experience...
I
know
that
they
deal
with
low
end
products
and
keep
it
cheap...
but
with
cheap
comes
the
potential
for
at
least
acknowledging
the
customer
exists...
I
would
like
to
say
that
the
till
experience
was
the
exception,
but
even
the
floor
staff
were
more
interested
in
each
other,
even
with
the
temporary
staff
talking
about
their
chance
of
meeting
again
next
season...
and,
let's
face
it...
if
they
were
paying
attention
to
the
customer
experience,
they
might
notice
that
on
a
lot
of
shelves
it
was
almost
impossible
to
find
out
the
price
of
things
as
they
were
shoved
randomly
in
to
fill
space
and
had
little
to
do
with
the
price
labels...
The
Range
management
need
to
adopt
some
secret
shoppers
and
see
why
the
Liffey
Valley
shop
is
so
empty,
uninviting,
and
unwelcoming...
Go
to
somewhere
like
Woodies
or
B&Q
where
the
same
age
profile
exists
amongst
staff
and
see
the
difference
in
how
they
engage
with
their
customers.
