This was, far and above, our favorite thing we did in in Dublin! The beautiful nature and verdant vistas of Howth were enlivened even more by Shane guiding us through the inextricably linked history and myths of this mystical land. While we got a great workout in, it was good for hikers of any fitness level. And if you're lucky, Shane might even recite some Yeats for you :)

What a fab way to spend a day, we loved every minute of our e-bike tour of Howth peninsula. Aileen was a super tour guide, full of interesting information about the area, full of chat and fun too! We also got to meet Shane and Loki who were so friendly. The route was stunning, and included lots of hidden gems we never would have discovered ourselves. The e-bikes are so comfortable and user friendly! Aileen even sent us a gorgeous video montage of the photos and videos of our day, which we love! We will 100% recommend this to everyone, local to the area or not, it's not to be missed! Thank you so much Aileen and Shane's Howth Adventures - we will be back to try out some of your other tours!

What a magical day out. I went out on a hike yesterday with Shane & a lovely group of people for a really wonderful 3 hour hike. Shane's knowledge of the history & folklore of beautiful Howth was incredible. We had the most delicious picnic lunch each at the top of the mountain in Deer Park. What a spot to sit a while, looking at the stunning 360 degree views of Dublin. Just a really beautiful way to spend an afternoon hiking through the woods & walking the cliff path and grounds of Howth Castle as Spring starts. Highly recommend Shane's Howth Adventure Tours & can't wait to get back out on another one.

A wonderful three hours biking on the e bikes with fat tires on beautiful trails, stopping now and then to view the scenery. 19 and 16 year also also enjoyed this immensely . The enthusiastic guide Nikky is a local who knew the best route and told us about history and people. Her nephew cycled as “‘last man” to make sure we stayed together. We were a group of six people. Howth is so beautiful- don’t hesitate just book this!

If you like an adventure and to learn about local history, this is a must-do when visiting Dublin! Our e-bike tour guides Conor and Ettie could not have been more hospitable and knowledgeable. We had an amazing 2.5+ hour tour of the Howth peninsula with a mix of street and easy trail rides with scenic views and great rest stops. The e-bikes were perfect. Could not recommend a better activity!!! Enjoy!!!

The best part of our Ireland trip. Zach and Loki are absolutely amazing. It was fun seeing areas that are off the beaten path and Howth was absolutely beautiful. It was also fun seeing the closeness of the folks in the village and how everyone knew each other and were so exceptionally friendly. We plan on doing the boat tour next time we go to Ireland as well. Just an amazing family providing incredible tours in a gorgeous country- what more could you ask for really?!

We had the most incredible experience with Zack and Loki! The hike was adventurous but not too difficult. We had so much fun and truly enjoyed our time getting to know Zack, his family, the history of Howth, and Loki! The views were breathtaking and an adventure that everyone should take if they get a chance!!

Fantastic experience. Even as a local I thought this bike tour was interesting, fun and well worth doing. I thought I knew my local history but I found out so much more on this 3 hour 40 mins adventure. I would highly recommend it to visitors and locals alike. Terrific value for money.

We will remember our day in Howth for years to come and much of this had to do with Shane and the ferry tour we took. The views from the boat were gorgeous, obviously, but what made the experience so special was Shane. He made us feel so welcomed, had a magnetic personality, and genuine excitement for sharing all the tidbits to be had. If you can book any tour with Shane, do it.

The Dublin Bike tour was fabulous! Our guide, Nicky was fun and had great information on the history of Howth and the surrounding area! And what can I say about the views...simply spectacular! This is an adventure that I would recommend to anyone!

The Walk was wonderful. The nature takes all the Stress away from you. And Sean our Guide, is a very lovely and funny Person, who tells us a lot historic and Mystical Stories. Thank you a lot for this beautiful adventure.

We did both the hike and the boat ride. Really awesome hike. Our guides took us through some woodlands, up to some fantastic views, and along a coastal cliff path. Well worth getting these guides, we would not have been able to find these routes without them. They are lovely people who gave us some interesting local history and insights into the natural history of the area. The boat ride around the island was also really excellent. Lots of seals, various bird species, and the gannet colony living on the rock is beautiful. The guide was excellent, gave us some history and is passionate about the biosphere. The two experiences (coastal hike and boat ride) together were great value, and made for a lovely day trip out of Dublin (and easy to get to Howth on the dart train). I strongly recommend.

This was an absolutely perfect experience. My tour guide was Zach. He was super communicative leading up to our hike. He grew up in Howth (4th generation!) so he knows the area and it’s history like the back of his hand. He was so kind and genuine. He took great care of us throughout the hike and was checking on us to make sure that everyone was safe and happy. He was just the nicest guide, and his sweet pup Loki joined us. An absolute angel of a dog. Cannot recommend this company enough. It’s a family-owned business. You’ll get fresh air, beautiful views, a legit workout (it’s beyond worth it!!) and recommendations for local pints and seafood at the end. If I’m ever back in Dublin I’ll certainly book another tour with this company. 10/10!!

Dee was fantastic. The hike was much more than I expected. Tips shared in advance for the hike were appreciated as we encountered all Ireland weather conditions on our hike. Views were spectacular and historic Howth stories an extra bonus. Highly recommend!

We lucked out and ended up having a private hike up the Howth Cliffs. Paul was an absolute pleasure as our guide and his dogs were welcomed enthusiastic companions. He was very knowledgeable and showed us some truly breathtaking views. Highly recommended!

We had such an amazing day doing the safari hike. Although we live in Ireland (Wicklow), we wanted to find out more about where we live. This was the perfect way to take in Howth. Dee was our tour guide and not only is she very knowledgeable, it's a whole lot of fun as well. We were in a great group and mix of people. And we loved all our various chats with everyone along the way. The views and route was just stunning. We would definitely recommend this! Make sure you wear proper shoes as there's obviously plenty of walking and some climbing.

The Howth Safari has been the best part of my trip! Zack and Loki were absolutely amazing and made the day such an enjoyable experience. Howth is such a beautiful area and there is no better way to explore it. Cannot recommend this tour enough! I already want to do it again. Zack, give me a shout if you ever come to Sydney!

You like to hike ? But maybe a novice? Or maybe you hike a lot. This is the hike for you. It was the best of my eight day Dublin visit. Why ? Because of the family O’Doherty. Yes it’s a family run business that cares for people and the area of Howth. It was a rainy day and many cancelled. Zack the son was caring and professional. His Father does boat tours. His mother does e-bike Howth tours. Zack does the hiking tours and his sister does the social media. We not only hiked the cliffs, but parts of the woods that you would not see with others. While other tours went left , we went right. Zack knows HOWTH. One of of the prettiest places near Dublin. The train makes it simple to get to. Home grown boy who is filled with family , community and a care for others I’m a single widower. Therefore a single traveler. But Zack made me part of his team. When one of our group struggled, he was a care giver 1st. Attentive to her needs. We hiked about 8 miles. We saw it all. I don’t know Mom and Dad, but when I left I knew they were good people because of their son. If Zack takes you , you may get to here the story of Susie. This is my first ever written review of an event. I went on other excursions and hiked a lot In Dublin in between my golf game days. Don’t miss out. Overcome any fears or reservations you may create for yourself. Rest assured,if you go on an O Doherty tour I think you’ll be glad you did. I have 3 older sons. Zack has his family. He loves them and what they. Well done tour. Highly recommended by a first time review writer.

It was an amazing and awe striking spectacle. Our host was phenomenal, as a Howth native she had wonderful insights on the land, its history and Howths best kept secrets. If you are looking for a fun , engaging and adventurous excursion sign up immediately.

Shane made our day today. We joined his boat tour of the Eye of Ireland, then saw him around town giving other tours and he treated us like we were friends. Highly recommend!

A superb experience from start to finish. The entire Tracey's team loved every second of it! Aileen, Karen and Gus were all extremely knowledgeable and entertaining tour guides. The trails and views were spectacular! After the past 2 years of Covid, we could not have picked a first better social event. We cannot recommend this tour enough!

We were lucky that we chose the perfect day and weather for cycling around Howth, one of the most beautiful places in Dublin, Ireland. I enjoyed everything about it, especially how friendly and considerate our tour guides, Karen and Aveen, are. I highly recommend this tour and I would definitely do it again if I get the chance, or when I have some friends visiting ;). The ebikes are a plus specially in hilly areas around the peninsula.

Amazing!!! We absolutely loved our e-Bike tour!!!. Howth views were stunning, our guide made the trip fun and interesting… she made sure we saw all the beauty of Howth as well as giving us some fascinating history… riding the electric bike was a lot of fun… we covered a lot of ground and we’re not tired at all… the electric bike did all the work, all we had to do was navigate, which was a great relief after few days or walking around Dublin. If you can ride a bike this tour is a must!!!

What a great day riding around Howth. This is a fantastic tour and shouldn't be missed. Aileen is an amazing guide, telling stories and a little history along the way. We had a fantastic day and were surprised with the quality of the relive video we received just a few hours after the tour ended. The photography would cost as much as the tour with other providers. I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Do not miss the chance to explore the full island of Howth.

This tour was the best thing I did in Dublin! It was amazing and incredibly fun! I was alone, but I got to meet very special people. The whole group and especially the guide made me feel very welcome and integrated. Bikes are great and super comfortable. The tour is done at a good pace and you are never bored, because the landscape changes and there is a lot to see along the way. The only bad thing about this tour is when it ends!

A truly stunning and fun adventure. You will race through the hills and laneways of Howth and Sutton enjoying the freedom the e-bikes brings. Roar with laughter and chat with the group. Hear unique stories only a local knows as well as hearing some history about the area. Soak up the unique panoramic views and feel enthralled. It was seriously the best fun you could have! The guide was amazing having grown up in the area knows all there is to know and then some! Great fun, bring your camera!

The walk with Shane was brilliant. It was the perfect length and Shane was able to tailor the route based on how tired we were towards the end! He was a great guide, very knowledgeable and had lots of really interesting stories, facts and information to share with us along the way, as well as having a good laugh. I would definitely recommend this tour and would love to do another one of his tours in the near future. Also, it was great to have Shane’s dog Loki join us! Thanks a million Shane.

Brought a team from work out with Shane on a Howth Hike. Magical day which both I and more importantly the team really enjoyed. Shane’s knowledge of the History of Howth is incredible and the route we took was excellent. Not many places more magical on a nice day then Howth and Shane made the experience even better !! Would highly recommend especially for a work outing !

My husband and I booked the e-bike tour and the experience was absolutely amazing. We loved every single minute of it. Aileen took us to the most iconic places in Howth and told us many stories about the history of it. She was an amazing tour guide, very friendly and thoughtful. The bikes were great, easy to use and really fun.

Our walking tour exploring the rambling hills and headlands of Howth with our guides, Zack and Bruno, is a treasured memory of Ireland in June 2019. Zack shared with us many of his family's stories of the Howth area along with its local history and the spirits within these wild, natural landscapes. Zack and his family's care and custodianship of this precious region is vital. Akin to Tolkien's character, Tom Bombadil, we need more custodians to preserve and protect, and to share with us their stories of the land, their memories of "the first raindrop and the first acorn". Thanks for sharing them with us - we hope to return some day.

Shane and his team took out a large group of American students around Howth this past weekend. Not only did we get extremely lucky with the beautiful weather we were lucky to have Shane himself as our guide. The entire day was filled with beautiful views, nature and history. The students were raving about the trip for the following days. I highly suggest booking Shane for your Howth trip if you want to learn something have fun and be in great company! Also honorable mention to all the guide dogs on the trip.

If I had to give this experience one word it would be, WOW! We loved every single moment from start to finish, Aileen and Karen were the most amazing tour ‘friends’ (hard to call them tour guides when they are so friendly and personable) I think we’ve ever had. The views were breathtaking and Aileen gave us so much insight to the history of howth! We had such a laugh with Aileen, her laugh is so infectious! The tour itself is amazing with great views, but, Aileen and Karen are really the cherry on top! It really was an experience of a lifetime! Every tour trail should have an Aileen and Karen. Our jaws were sore from smiling so much. We will 10000% be back again and I would recommend that everyone should do this tour at some point… WOW! Thank you so much guys!

The passion Aileen has for this gorgeous slice of paradise is demonstrated in each story she shares! You feel like she’s actually having fun on the ride (which is contagious!) (she must do it all the time, but she is fresh and full of positivity) our group blended well, we biked all different terrain (which my husband specifically enjoyed!!) there was something for everyone: history, landscapes, photo ops, and of course biking! I’d never hesitate to do anything with this group.

Highly recommend this tour of the beautiful Howth Peninsula, in North Dublin, Ireland. Get yourself booked in for one of the nicest ways to spend an afternoon if you are in Howth any time. We had a fabulous tour on Electric bikes and traversed the area on roads, paths, walks, through meadows and what felt like secret passageways. Scenery was spectacular and the local sites, castles and Martello tower stops were super to see and learn about. While Howth is a familiar area to me the tour took me to places I had never been and to stops en route that were fun and interesting. The team do a great job, safety is no 1 and our host Aileen balanced history and humour in spades.- Don't miss it.

We did the e bike tour with Aileen and Karen on a Sunday afternoon around Howth penninsula. It proved to be a great day out, we took trails and saw sights we would never have seen without them. We stopped at various points of interest along the way and learned some fascinating pieces of history and also some current news thanks to the extraordinary knowledge of the guides. The views were breathtaking and Aileen was a great photographer which left us free to enjoy ourselves! 10 / 10 recommend!
