Had a very strange experience with them. My wife and I did the small group Cliffs of Moher Tour from Dublin on July 13th. I'll start off with the good: The vehicle was as advertised, a comfortable Black-Sprinter van. The lunch stop was very good. And of course the scenery was gorgeous. So now for the bad, which needs some context: On the return half of the tour we hit some pretty bumpy roads and it was tossing those of us in the back around quite a bit, making some of us nauseous. During the next stop my wife politely asked if it'd be possible to go a bit slower because it was bumpy and we didn''t want anyone to throw up or anything. Rather than simply saying "Sorry about that, I'll see what I can do", the tour guide/driver caused a big scene, loudly declaring that she was trying to "dictate the tour". Kind of just flew off the handle about it for no reason. During a later stop he approached us to see if we wanted to return to Dublin on a large bus instead (we were already past the bumpy portion). My wife was understandably upset by his earlier reaction and said that she was fine, and when he pushed on it she said she didn't want to speak with him because of the way she spoke to her earlier. This caused him to yell out "Oh thank god, she's fine!" or something to that nature, causing a big scene again. One of the customers was consoling him after because he was clearly upset. It was just very unprofessional and honestly concerning behavior; if a simple (reasonable) question was enough to set him off like that he has no business guiding full-day tours like this. Less important but still off-putting were the political rants he spent the latter half of the tour going on and on about (obviously not the time or place). The only reason I'm doing 2 stars is because of the (few) positives I listed at the top, but honestly the way the tour guide behaved nearly ruined the experience for us. I would recommend just renting a car and doing your own exploration, otherwise you might end up stuck in a vehicle with someone like this for the better part of a day.

Below is the correspondence we shared with the company. Zero response from them, so posting to share and warn others to avoid this company. Dear Sir I don't know how to begin to express my utter disappointment with this tour. Firstly, the men picking us up at 7:30am at the Westin arrived saying "is anyone going up North" and guided us into their unmarked cars. we got in their vehicles and they spent the next 30 min smoking and on their phones while we sat and waited. We started to wonder if this was a scam. had we been taken by some hooligans? NO mention of Elegant Irish Tours. Next, as we got down the road we finally asked our driver is name. (HE HAD NOT SPOKE FOR 30 MIN). He asked us where we were going and what we had been told. He told us he is just a driver and doesn't work for you. There was no tour. There was no storytelling. He wanted us to pay for parking at Giant's Causeway and buy our own way in. He wouldn't take us to Black Taxi in Belfast. Listen, he was a NICE MAN and we tipped him handsomely b/c you put him in THE WORST position. We expected so much more. I expect a refund. Seriously, it was ridiculous. I brought my elderly mother and daughter on this trip. My mom spent 2 hours in the van worried we were not getting home safely as the driver didn't know where we were going. Calls, after calls of trying to figure out where to take us and who was paying. It was so awkward. This driver tried his absolute best and was so kind to all of us. But he had no instructions or details on what was included. NO response to emails or Facebook messages and no one picks up the phone- all day we tried contacting you. You should be ashamed of this scam. WITH THANKS FOR nothing,

We booked a tour to the Cliffs of Moher on 10/25. Our driver/guide was Dominic. We had a great time. Being in a small group we had a lot of flexibility in what we saw and how much time we could spend at various attractions. The boat ride to see the Cliffs from the water was unexpected but made the whole trip even more special. Thank you.

We went on the Cliffs of Mother in 9/24 and Patrick was our tour guide. He was informative and funny. We were able to go on the ferry at the Cliffs and it was incredible. The lunch was good. I highly recommend this tour and you won't be disappointed.

I used 3 different tour companies while in Ireland and Elegant Irish Tours was the best by far. I took the day trip to Giant's Causeway and Belfast. Going with a small group makes the day feel more relaxed and comfortable. Dermot was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun and enjoyable.

We had the most amazing time on the 4 day Southern Irish tour with our guide DJ! Very comfortable the entire time. His commentary added so much character to the trip, both historical and interesting. He gave excellent advice as to what to include and exclude from our trip and his recommendations never failed. We had plenty of time to enjoy each city in the evening and had sensible meeting times in the AM. This creates a nice, leisurely trip without feeling rushed while still accomplishing the major tourist attractions of South and West Ireland. 10 stars. Would recommend to anyone with any family size of any ages. Thank you DJ!

We had Jacky as our small group tour guide. He had a balance of humor and knowledge. Very informative and attentive to his audience. Providing recommendations on other available tours of interest as well as food advice!

JJ was great! Made it a very fun day! Added information that we wouldn't have gotten if we had been on our own. Fun time! Cliffs were beautiful and a little bit of an adventure.

Jackie is a fantastic guide. When you book, ASK if he will be your tour guide. He is a must. Cliffs were beautiful, but he is a true Irishman!!!

We were in Dublin for about 4 days and booked two, one day private tours with Elegant Irish Tours. Our first day was to the Cliffs of Moher, and the second was to Blarney Castle. We ended up with the same driver, Jimmy, for both days, and he was amazing. On the first day, he picked us up from our hotel promptly on time, in a very nice and comfortable vehicle. We set off towards the Cliffs, with a stop at Dunguair Castle in Kinvara. After that, we stopped a bit short of the Cliffs for some nice photos and then pushed on to the Cliffs to stay ahead of some incoming weather. After we were finished at the Cliffs, we headed back with a stop for lunch and a quick visit to Bunratty Castle and shopping. While returning to Dublin, Jimmy gave us several nice suggestions for dinners and sites around Dublin for our non-tour days. The next morning, Jimmy was again very prompt. Leaving our hotel and heading towards Blarney Castle, Jimmy was quick to point out site and landmarks as we drove and gave us quite a bit of Irish history, which was wonderful. We stopped at Cashel Rock and spent some time there before going on to Blarney Castle. Jimmy provided great guidance and helpful tips along the way. After visiting the Castle, we had plenty of time to eat and shop before heading back to Dublin. Jimmy was a wonderful guide during our visit, and we'd love to do more tours with him on future trips if possible. Highly recommend!!!

Elegant Irish Tours Small Group is the way to go. Friendly employees and a good tour. The Internet, like most tours, is nonexistent. Timing of stops good. Lunch stop excellent

Great experience, but it depends on the driver you get. Our first tour was to the Cliffs of Moher, which was beautiful, but the driver was rushed and didn't follow the itinerary nor any traffic laws as he sped around, even running into a wall. Scary. The second tour to Giants Causeway way great. The driver was more than accommodating, safe, and very knowledgeable. We couldn't have had a better day.

This tour service is excellent! We hired them to pick us up from the airport and take us on a driving tour of the city. Our guide, Don, was excellent. He was waiting for us at the airport with a smile. He took us to drop our bags at our hotel and then whisked us on a custom Dublin City tour. He showed us Trinity College, St Patricks cathedral, Christ Church, the Vikings museum, a city park, Facebook and google offices, and many other city highlights. He took us for our pre booked tours at Jameson and Guiness, made sure we were in the right lines, and gave us pointers about how to best enjoy our tours and avoid lines. He was friendly, upbeat, and easy going which was exactly what we needed after a long flight from US. Highly recommend.

Thank you, Mick and Elegant Irish Tours for two amazing days of exploring your beautiful country. We booked two private tours the Cliffs of Moher and Giant’s Causeway. We received way more than we expected. Mick was knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. He paid attention to our interests which gave our family some very special memories. If you are considering booking a private tour with Elegant Irish Tours do not hesitate - Book It!! Thanks again for helping our family create some amazing memories that will last a lifetime. Exceeds expectations was an understatement! Gabriel our driver was exceptionally knowledgeable, personable and thoughtful. He went out of his way to make sure our private tour was meaningful to us and even inquired of locals in Mayo to see if anyone knew of our relatives. We were able to connect with a lovely gentleman and visit the old family farm. I was so touched I could barely speak. I will never forget it and was very grateful for the effort Gabriel extended to us. Well well worth it and highly recommended.

Excellent service. We hired Elegant Tours for trips between Kilkenny and Galway and then from Galway to Connemara and Trim. Both drivers, Paudie and Paul, were punctual, friendly and professional. Both were very knowledgeable. The drivers were not hired as tour guides, but their knowledge of local history as well as their national history was impressive. I got a feel for the day-to-day lives of the people in the towns we passed (or stopped into). The only negative - we got the feeling that the drivers themselves were not given the tailored itinerary we had drawn up for Elegant Tours. Each driver had to quickly get up to speed with our particular plans at the pick up sites. Both drivers adjusted on the fly, but the lack of communication from the office to the field put a bit more pressure on the drivers than there should have been. With typical Irish grace and smarts, our drivers made it all work. Overall, a good and reliable company and great experience!

Wonderful tour. Our tour guide was very entertaining. Made us laugh on the whole trip. We had lunch at a great local restaurant with amazing seafood chowder. We even got lucky with the weather and our tour guide arranged a ferry ride beneath the cliffs.

Had a great trip to see the Cliffs of Moher. Jackie (?spelling) did a great job as the driver / tour guide. Added bonus was the boat ride which was running due to the nice weather. Lunch at a seafood restaurant (self pay) was delicious.

Fabulous day trip to the Cliffs! Our guide Dan was knowledge, professional, funny and extremely attentive. The mini van was spotless and luxurious. The Cliffs were breathtaking. I can't fault my experience and would recommend it without hesitation to any friends visiting Ireland. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable day!

We had the absolute best tour with Kieran on August 7th to the Giant’s Causeway and Belfast. He was funny, charming, knowledgeable; just an all around fantastic person to spend a long day with. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the things we needed at rest stops and sites. He hooked us up with a great black cab driver in Belfast; which was one of the highlights of the trip - better understanding the dynamics of Ireland and Northern Ireland and the Troubles. He had funny and fantastic stories; you really got to know him and thus a part of Ireland which, I think, is one reason many people come to Ireland. He showed us wonderful beauty spots to take pics and and an amazing monastic tower and Celtic crosses. We just had a great day, beautiful sites; amazing and tragic history and great and plentiful banter. And btw Kieran a courgette is a zucchini! Loved the trip!

We had Alex take us on a small group tour from Dublin to the cliffs. Alex was awesome. Great local knowledge and just enough humor. The small group tour was perfect for us. We’ve done the big group tours and it’s just not the same.

This was by far the best tour company we used during our trip to Ireland. While the energy of the big bus tours is fun, nothing compares to a private driver being able to show you hidden gems the busses can't get to, and allowing you as many stops without a time limit. Well worth the splurge! Our driver Paul took us off the crowded tourist spots to quiet and special vistas, sharing stories and trivia along the way. Would absolutely recommend and book again.

Gary was our driver and he was fantastic! Good conversation and very accommodating. We visited the Dark Woods, Giants Causeway, some beautiful ocean lookouts, the Carick a rede bridge, and drive home along the coast line taking in the stunning scenery. Wonderful day. We won’t forget Gary!

I went on the small group tour to Belfast and the Giant's Causeway with Lee. It was an absolutely incredible tour, and Lee was very knowledgeable on endless topics from pop culture, politics, history, economics, and social issues. I would (and will) recommend this tour to anyone.

Absolutely recommend this fantastic tour! Loved the small group but our guide made it all the more amazing😊 There were three of us in our group and we all agree that between the Irish history and the Irish songs our guide provided it was nothing short of an amazing day. Best tour ever!!!! I will be back and contacting you for another tour!

My husband, son, sons girlfriend and I took the Luxury Giant’s Causeway and Northern Ireland Day Tour on Sunday 7/21/19. Our Driver was Derrick. From the outset he was both informative and humorous, which made the trip exceptional and enjoyable. We’re planning a return trip to Ireland next year and hopefully Derrick is available to take us to other places. It was a wonderful day! Thank you, Paul and Angela, from NYC. John and Patricia from Brazil.

My mother and I took a small group tour with Elegant Irish Tours to the Giant’s Causeway and Belfast. It was by far the BEST tour and tour guide experience I have ever had. Granted, it was a small group tour and the other passengers didn’t show, so it was just my mom and I and the tour guide – Ronan. However, Ronan was incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and funny. We had an absolute blast. All of our time on the road went by quickly with genuine conversation and wonderful story-telling. The Giant’s Causeway was beautiful, and we had plenty of time to take the route along the top of the cliffs (Ronan’s recommendation) to view it from the top before heading down to check it out at sea level. Simply unbelievable. In Belfast, we took the Black Cab Taxi tour, which was very sobering. Incredible trip all around! I cannot recommend enough!
